Tournament The Crying Game [WON BY UNFIXABLE]

;the crying game;

Welcome to The Crying Game! Now, why would you call a tournament "the crying game"? That doesn't sound very exciting, now does it?! Well, it's not intended to invite you! This tournament is not for those who are the faint of the heart, or those who are not capable of rising to the challenge. This tournament is a STABmons based tournament, but with a twist; hence the name. Enough of the jibber jabber, let's move into what this tournament is. This tournament is STABmons, as mentioned before, but the twist is one STABmons Uber will drop each round. Doesn't that just sound so exciting?! This means that all Pokemon who have been banished to the dungeon in STABmons, never to see the light of day, are now able to run free! However, this does not mean this is a STABmons+ tour! You can't use Dark Void Gyarados, sadly. Here are the list of the Pokemon that will be randomly dropped, one at a time, along with a few points about why they've been banned from STABmons (after all, we do want to inform people a bit!).
  • Sylveon
    • Boomburst is insanely powerful, and Shell Smash made it even more broken. Beyond this, it had Geomancy, and even had Judgment to smack Steel-types. Belly Drum sets were also quite good, but faced competition from Boomburst. Sylveon was over-centralizing, too easy to win with, and ultimately broken.
  • Porygon-Z
    • Adapatability Boomburst is just way too strong, and, like Sylveon, was pushed over the top by Shell Smash. Also like Sylveon, Belly Drum sets were so easy to sweep with, and Porygon-Z was just far too strong for the tier to handle. Sylveon + Porygon-Z is the first round of STABmons bans, and are the original broken STABmons Pokemon.
  • Mega Altaria
    • Because Swablu is a Normal-type, Mega Altaria also receives access to Shell Smash, Extreme Speed, Belly Drum, and Boomburst. What makes Mega Altaria special is its ability, Pixilate, just like Sylveon. Mega Altaria is a faster, equally as powerful, bulkier Sylveon with a better ability to top it all off. Mega Altaria was the first of four in a round of bans.
  • Mega Metagross
    • Mega Metagross is the first STABmons ban of XY / ORAS to not be related in any way to a Normal-type move! Contrary to the above three bans, Mega Metagross was broken due to Shift Gear and Heavy Slam (or Gear Grind, if you want to be hipster). Because of how heavy Mega Metagross is, and having Tough Claws, Heavy Slam 2HKOed or OHKOed mostly everything which thus led to it being banned. Second of four in a round of bans.
  • Mega Lopunny
    • Yet another Normal-type! Belly Drum and Extreme Speed are what push over Mega Lopunny. What separates Mega Lopunny from its other Normal-type competition is Scrappy, and a Fighting-type STAB, which beat two of Extreme Speed's largest stops: Ghost- and Steel-types. This was the third of four in a round of bans.
  • Mega Slowbro
    • This was a somewhat controversial ban, but it is ultimately for the best. Because of Mega Slowbro's newfound access to Stored Power, it could easily set up on a large majority of the tier and proceed to sweep. This is further compounded by excellent bulk and reliable recovery, with a great typing to top it all off. This is the final in four of the round of bans.
  • Keldeo
    • In more recent news of bans, Keldeo is the second to last on our list. Water Spout spam was able to be checked, however, the Calm Mind set is what makes Keldeo broken. Its Calm Mind set was able to set up on a large majority of the metagame and smack everything with its powerful moves, and nothing could 100% counter it, thus leading to its ban.
  • Diggersby
    • After three previous suspect tests, Diggersby was finally banned. Fake Out + Extreme Speed over centralized the metagame in a way unimaginable. Diggersby also had a great Ground-type STAB move in Precipice Blades to break through most physical walls who are neutral to the above combination. Eventually, it was banned because of how impossible it was to completely counter it.
  • Mega Aerodactyl
    • A combination of high Speed, incredible power, and ability to muscle through nearly all of the tier is what lead to Mega Aerodactyl's ban. It outsped every Pokemon in the metagame, and smashed them in with Tough Claws boosted Dragon Ascent.
Now that you're a bit more informed as to why these Pokemon have been banned from standard STABmons, let's get into the tournament-specific rules.

rules:
  • Clauses in effect:
    • Sleep Clause:
      • If a player has already put an opposing Pokémon to sleep using a sleep inducing move and that Pokémon is still sleeping due to that sleep inducing move, the player cannot put another opposing Pokémon to sleep using a sleep inducing move.
    • Species Clause:
      • A player cannot have two of the same species of Pokémon on their team, based on the National Pokedex Number. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
    • Evasion Clause:
      • Players cannot use Double Team or Minimize in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
    • OHKO Clause:
      • Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
    • Timer Clause:
      • If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.
  • This is a STABmons format, with a changed rule each round. You may not use any other banned Pokemon in this round, if it is not unbanned. For example, you may not use Diggersby in Round One, where Keldeo will be unbanned (it won't be, this is just an example).
  • This tournament is a best of one tournament, not a best of three.
  • Each round will last exactly one week from the time of posting, and any unfinished battle will be decided with a coinflip.
  • Switching teams is allowed in each different round, and even encouraged.
  • Replays must be posted in order for the win to count. This is to make sure no illegalities are being used.
  • All battles must be played in Custom Game. Any user caught using any of the following illegalities will be instantly disqualified from the tournament.
    • More than 510 EVs.
    • More than four moves.
    • Level above 100.
    • More than six Pokemon.
    • Any illegal ability / move.
    • Megas in their Mega form, and not their base form.
    • Any Pokemon not unbanned for the round.
  • Should a Pokemon / item / ability / specific clause be added to the STABmons banlist while the tour is being played, then it will be illegal from the round after the one it is banned. If Probopass is banned in Round Three, then it can be used in Round Three, but it may not be used in any future round.
  • If your opponent is inactive or does not contact you, you can call for an activity win 48 hours before the end of the round.
  • If neither player is active by the time the round ends and no one calls an activity win, I will coinflip the matchup, no exceptions.
  • Please contact each other via VM. If you do not do so, then I can not confirm activity. You may not send me a screenshot of it from Skype / PM / Showdown / IRC, I will not count that.
Discussion for the STABmons metagame is to take place here; however, you are able to discuss how the Pokemon that are dropped affect the current metagame.

Sign-up below by posting "in". Sign-ups will close exactly one week from this post, or if the tour reaches a perfect number of 8, 16, 32, or 64.
