So, checking out April's UU usage stats:

57 | Sableye | 3.57856% | 30903 | 3.447% | 26766 | 3.646% |
58 | Rhyperior | 3.41427% | 24017 | 2.679% | 20263 | 2.760% |
59 | Kyurem | 3.34568% | 16181 | 1.805% | 12180 | 1.659%
60 | Jolteon | 3.23334% | 45725 | 5.100% | 36835 | 5.018%
61 | Milotic | 3.05891% | 40372 | 4.503% | 33749 | 4.597%
62 | Gardevoir | 2.99994% | 38572 | 4.303% | 30366 | 4.136% |
63 | Smeargle | 2.93714% | 23881 | 2.664% | 21582 | 2.940% |
64 | Tentacruel | 2.88494% | 35553 | 3.966% | 30067 | 4.096% |
65 | Vivillon | 2.64637% | 9706 | 1.083% | 7775 | 1.059%
66 | Cresselia | 2.42823% | 24276 | 2.708% | 19598 | 2.670% |

Rhyperior's above 3.41, Jolteon, Milotic and Gardevoir are under.. Is it safe to assume that next tier shift Rhyperior will rise and those 3 will drop?

Or is there some other way usage and drops/rises are done?

Are we even gonna get tier shifts next month (aka tomorrow)? Because I'm not sure if we are.. and I heard that we will.

These are 1760 stats. RU uses 1695 stats for tiering. From the 1695 stats, the only tiering changes relating to things moving into or out of RU at the moment seems to be Jolteon ---> RU, Medicham ---> OU, and Smeargle ---> OU, based on the stats. The new stats will probably come out on June 2nd.

This may sound like a dumb question, but I was really surprised when I learned that Golbat was RU. Other than the Poison type buff, I don't really know what else he got, could someone please elaborate?

The major thing that Golbat got in the shift to this generation is defog, while it was always bulky and a decent stall breaker thanks to poison immunity and taunt, the ability to actually support its team with Defog earned it a spot in RU.

Ah, forgot about Defog, and Eviolite gives it really good bulk. I didn't stop to think that an NFE would get the top defogger spot of RU, but that all makes sense. Thank you!

most I can think of were the infiltrator ability buff which lets any of the said pokemon's moves ignore an opponent's subs and the defog buff

As good a defogger as Golbat is though, wouldn't other RU pokemon like Braviary, Gligar, and Skuntank be more effective ones?

They are all nice defoggers, with gligar being the most comparable, and so Golbat is differentiated simply by what your team needs.

His typing is rather swell, allowing him to take on fairy types.

Infiltrator can allow brave bird to hit hard against subbed mons.

Super fang can break down walls like rhyperior that try to switch in.

It carries taunt, unlike gligar, that can allow it to stop it from becoming setup bait.

and can still run u-turn if desired

When will there be RU analyses? it's hard for new people to make teams when there isn't anything to reference D:

So RU is official now, any word when the C&C section will go up? I'm a bit excited tbh :]

edit: i'm not trying to rush or anything, I would actually love it if the C&C section opened up later this month when i'm done with finals, but i'm just asking.

Why didn't they just ban the megastone like with Gengar and stuff?
Only ubers and the borderline tiers have bans. All of the others (ou, uu, ru, nu) are based solely on usage. If something is banned from ou, it is uber. If it's banned from uu, it's BL, etc.

Aight so UU is kinda stale atm cuz everyone's running MegaZam, so I'm gonna take the time to learn RU meta.

So outside of Froslass/Shuckle being huge dicks in hazard setup and Shuckle + Hitmonlee combo, what else should I watch out for in UU?
