Revenge Time

We were back for revenge, this time with some of our old pals back!

Kieran is not the only one who can get strong with a tough face, I can do that too!

Why can't Kieran just cooperate with us? He's not doing any good for Ogerpon!

We knew Kieran would lead off with Yanmega again, and we sent out Redcurrant this time!

We also predicted an incoming Air Slash, since Redcurrant does not mind Bug Buzz all that much!

Air Slash hit through Redcurrant's weakness, but she was well equipped to deal with Yanmega! She barely hung on with 3 HP left!

Time for us to show Yanmega who's the boss!

Yanmega is a strong attacker, but it has rather flimsy defenses, especially against Redcurrant's powerful Flamethrower!

Next up on the Flying-type assault, Kieran sent out Cramorant! We had Lime out to deal with that!

Cramorant could not do anything against Lime's Thunderbolt! We knew Lime's a professional at handling bird Pokemon!

As expected, Kieran immediately sent out his third Flying-type Pokemon, Gligar! We had a plan with Cloudberry!

Cloudberry might be weak to X-Scissor, but he could take some hits under the snowstorm!

Gligar's biggest weakness is how it hates the cold, and we gave it a chilling Blizzard to knock it out!

The Pokemon that ended us last time, Poliwrath, was up next! This time we are not here to lose!

Kieran has a nasty plan with Poliwrath!

But luck was on our side, as Salal dodged that Hydro Pump swiftly!

Hey, are you feeling cold from the snow? Maybe you should drink some of these hot matcha!

Poliwrath is a really bulky Pokemon! Matcha Gotcha didn't quite get it!

We managed to dodge that Hydro Pump again! Luck was really helping us out!

Speaking of luck, Salal landed a critical Matcha Gotcha to finish Poliwrath off! Not that it really mattered!

Kieran's final Pokemon was the one we're familiar with, Dipplin!

As a Grass-type Champion trainer, I know Dipplin's biggest weakness is Ice-type moves! Dipplin fainted in one shot!

We served our revenge cold like Blizzard! But seeing Kieran suffering does not make me happy ...

It really feels like Kieran has lost control of himself sometimes, acting so strange all the time!

But we were here to get what we need, Ogerpon's Teal Mask!

Hey Kieran! You can come join us too, if you want! I'm sure Ogerpon would not mind!

Carmine definitely agrees that Kieran has been acting off, and I'm sure it isn't just teenage angst ...

Uh-oh! Something was happening around the Loyal Three statues!

A purple glow destroyed the monument!

Three Pokemon popped out of nowhere! And they look exactly like the Loyal Three statues!

The three Pokemon noticed us and had a discussion! But neither Carmine nor I can understand what they were talking about!

The three Pokemon ran away before we could even do anything! That couldn't mean anything great!

A dog, a monkey and a bird? That's exactly the trio described in the old folktale as the Loyal Three!

The Loyal Three was supposedly dead after getting defeated by Ogerpon, but they were revived suddenly!

The Loyal Three ran toward the Kitakami Hall! We knew that the Loyal Three were sinister all along, so they couldn't be up to anything nice! We had to find them as soon as possible!

Toxic Relationship

We rushed to the Kitakami Hall to see if we could find the Loyal Three!

The crowd was gathering at the hall, and that had got to mean bad news for us ...

The Loyal Three visited the Kitakami Hall and was cheerfully welcomed by the villagers!

The villagers had no idea the Loyal Three were the greedy ones, and handed Ogerpon's masks to them!

Not only that, but the villagers also gave the Loyal Three some mochi as well! Let's hope the three Pokemon didn't grow that much stronger!

Carmine and I needed to clean the mess, but we couldn't tell them the truth! This is so stressful!

Without a doubt, the Loyal Three would try to find Ogerpon and unleash revenge! We must save poor Ogerpon!

We had to return Ogerpon's mask as soon as possible to allow it to utilize its full strength!

I ran to the Dreaded Den to return the mask, while Carmine stayed back to gather some help!

As we expected, the Loyal Three were already bullying Ogerpon!

The muscular dog and the smug bird kept bullying Ogerpon, while the nasty monkey picked on me!

Munkidori challenged us to a fight!

With how toxic its personality is, I wasn't surprised to see Munkidori use Poison-type moves!

Munkidori is wearing a Toxic Chain that gave us extra chance of poisoning opponents! It poisoned our bowl of matcha!

Salal's Shadow Ball hit Munkidori with a super-effective hit! Munkidori might have good offenses, but it seems to have flimsy defenses!

Munkidori probably wasn't expecting us to be that strong! That's what you get for bullying poor Ogerpon!

If Salal was suffering so terribly from fighting Munkidori, imagine what Ogerpon feels like confronting all three at once!

Munkidori is a mean monkey with high Speed and good offenses! It knocked out Salal with Psychic!

We knew Munkidori is weak to Shadow Ball and uses Psychic. So, we have strong reasons to believe it is a Psychic-type Pokemon!

Guava cleaned up Munkidori with a quick Night Slash!

Munkidori fainted from that fight, but I knew it would just stand up and cause troubles!

Fighting Munkidori wasn't that rough, but it still wore me out. I was glad to see my allies coming to help!

Those cowards ran away immediately when they got outnumbered by us!

Kieran came as well and told us what he felt!

I think I'm at fault too. We could've handled the situation a little better!

And now Kieran has officially met Ogerpon face-to-face! It must've been like dreams come true!

We let Kieran return Ogerpon's mask!

But Ogerpon did not want to receive the mask from Kieran! It wanted me to return the mask!

Ogerpon was really excited to get back its mask, but I can tell Kieran wasn't too happy about that ...

Ogerpon still had three masks stolen by the Loyal Three. And of course, we should help Ogerpon out!

Carmine also expected those three Pokemon to attack again, so we had to gather up our power to retrieve the masks!

Kieran, Carmine and I decided to investigate where the Loyal Three went!

For the safety of Ogerpon, it will follow me until the Loyal Three gets defeated for good!

We thought we might be able to gather some information in the village, but Ogerpon did not want to go in!

I guess Ogerpon was still traumatized by what the villagers in the past did!

The only reasonable decision was to let Ogerpon stay outside, while we go in to investigate! But Ogerpon did not seem to follow that idea!

Well, Ogerpon agreed when I told it to stay! I guess I'm pretty good at talking to Pokemon!

Investigation (Plot Stuff)

The first piece of information we gathered is the Loyal Three loves eating mochi!

Naturally, the smug bird Fezandipiti would be flying around the Oni Mountain!

Okidogi was seen around the Paradise Barrens!

Munkidori, who was defeated by us, was hanging around a pond!

Carmine, Kieran and I, or the Mask Retrieval Squad, exchanged information and it seemed like we all got the same investigation results!

We put down the locations of the Loyal Three on the map! They are scattered around Kitakami, but I'll hunt them all down!

Carmine and I were determined to defeat the Loyal Three, but Kieran suddenly quitted!

But he's the one who loves Ogerpon the most! Why would he not help Ogerpon out in this situation?

I feel like Kieran's also hiding something from us! He's still acting so weird!

I guess he is still upset from what we have done ...

Okey dokey

The first Loyal Pokemon we searched for was Okidogi, who was supposedly hiding in Paradise Barrens!

You cannot mistake those buff muscles even from far away! Okidogi was just standing around the Barrens!

I remember Okidogi being a big Pokemon, but definitely not this big!

We challenged Okidogi to a battle to get back the stolen mask!

Not only did Okidogi look beefier, but it also got some boosts in its Defense!

I can't help but notice that Okidogi wears a scarf that looks similar to Munkidori's headband!

Carmine led off the battle by paralyzing Okidogi! That would be helpful in slowing it down!

Okidogi looks like it can really pack a punch, so we weakened it with a Strength Sap!

Carmine's strategy immediately proved to be effective! (Paralyze Counter: 1)

We've seen how strong Morpeko's Aura Wheel can be! Let's hope it would prove to be useful here as well!

Aura Wheel was actually resisted by Okidogi! At least Morpeko got some Speed from using that move!

Salal also did some damage with Shadow Ball, although I was definitely hoping it would do more!

With how little damage we were doing, I wouldn't think about the last attack quite yet!

(Paralyze Counter: 2)

One interesting thing about Aura Wheel is it would change types every turn, so it would do fine every other turn!

Salal was still putting consistent efforts with its Shadow Ball, but this time we got the Special Defense drop!

(Paralyze Counter: 3, who's the bully now?)

Even with Okidogi's Special Defense being lowered, Shadow Ball still wasn't doing that much!

After three turns of getting fully paralyzed, Okidogi finally showed its power with Close Combat!

Close Combat would've knocked Morpeko out, but Morpeko hung on with a Focus Sash!

Okidogi also wore itself down with Close Combat, as it further lowered its Defenses!

Shadow Ball would keep getting stronger if Okidogi kept using Close Combat!

(At this point, I'd rather it uses CC and lower its Defenses; Paralyze Counter: 4)

Since Salal wasn't doing that much damage, we switched to Coconut instead!

(Paralyze Counter: 5; T-Wave OP, plz nerf)

Coconut's Earth Power did much more to Okidogi! It was a good switch!

Well, that was because it was a critical hit! But I trust that Coconut can do this anyways!

With my analysis of how toxic Okidogi acts and how Munkidori is a Poison-type, I deduced that Okidogi would be a Poison-type as well!

Okidogi doesn't only eat mochi, it also ate a Liechi Berry to boost its Attack!

Morpeko finally got defeated with another Close Combat, but I think it did a wonderful job already!

Carmine sent in Mightyena, which had Intimidate to offset the Attack boost Okidogi got from the Liechi Berry!

Thanks to Close Combat lowering Okidogi's Special Defense, Coconut did massive damage with Earth Power!

The mean muscle dog was finally defeated and returned to its original size!

That's why you don't mess with Ogerpon or the Mask Retrieval Squad. Like really, don't mess with Carmine.

We helped Ogerpon get back its Cornerstone Mask! That's one of the three masks down!

While I prefer teaming up with Kieran more, I think Carmine and I work great as battle partners too!

Bird Chaser

To get to the next Loyal Pokemon, we needed to make our way through the flaming Infernal Pass again.

Fezandipiti was really just hanging around at the back of Oni Mountain!

That coward ran away immediately when it saw me! It flew into the cave!

I've never been to this cave before, and there was a trainer waiting for us!

Wait a second, I'm not on the same side with Goomy!

Cantaloupe has been getting much tougher and stronger, she's no longer the baby she was!

This cave was giving me chills, just like the two TMs that I picked up!

I can finally breathe! Fezandipiti was waiting for us just outside the cave!

Serendipity

I've never been big fans of mean birds, and I definitely do not like seeing BIG mean birds!

We were challenged by the Titanic Fezandipiti, bring me flashback to Titan Bombirdier!

Fezandipiti got its Speed raised sharply as the battle started! It shouldn't affect our strategies too much!

Come on, it's no time to admire its face!

Fezandipiti's Speed boost allowed it to move first, and it landed a Play Rough! I trust that Cantaloupe can take its hits well!

Just like last time, Carmine started the battle with a Thunder Wave to hinder our opponent!

Every great Grass-type Pokemon Trainer would know that Leech Seed is wonderful move to wear your opponents down!

Thunder Wave is certainly a great move! Time for the Loyal Pokemon to be unable to move because of paralysis again!

Fezandipiti may look just like a pretty bird, but it got some solid defenses!

I just assumed Fezandipiti would be weak to Ground-type as well, just like its sinister partners!

I'm really glad I can be Carmine's best grunt best friend.

Unfortunately, Headlong Rush has a massive drawback of lowering our Defenses!

Morpeko's second Aura Wheel did a little more to Fezandipiti, but it still wasn't that much!

Fezandipiti just kept bullying poor Cantaloupe! Does it have something against Grass-type Pokemon?

Speaking of bullying, Fezandipiti badly poisoned Cantaloupe with its Toxic Chain!

Cantaloupe unleashed her anger with another super-effective Headlong Rush!

With Cantaloupe's defenses lowered and her being badly poisoned, things were looking really bad for her!

And Ogerpon decided to step in and cheered us on!

Ogerpon's cheer gave us strength, and our Pokemon both got their Speed higher!

Cantaloupe was determined to fight back after hearing Ogerpon's cheer, and she avoided Play Rough!

With our Speed raised, our next problem was to deal more damage to Fezandipiti!

Like how Morpeko landed a critical hit right there! We were getting closer!

Fezandipiti was not having a fun time aiming at us, as it missed another Play Rough!

With yet another Headlong Rush, Cantaloupe sent Fezandipiti flying!

We defeated Fezandipiti and shrunk it back to its normal size!

And of course, that coward flew away again! I hope to never see it again!

Fezandipiti dropped its mask while fleeing from us! Second mask retrieved!

Carmine and I are getting more and more synced in Double Battles!

But I bet our mask retrieval would've gone even smoother with Kieran's help!

Well, let's not waste our time and get back the final mask as well!

Hunky Dory

The final Pokemon of the Loyal Three resided besides the pool!

It was Munkidori, the one we fought at the Dreaded Den! It was actually a pretty strong Pokemon!

And of course, Munkidori also got much bigger this time! But we also had an ally by our side this time!

Carmine and I challenged the Titanic Munkidori to wrap up our mask retrieval mission!

Munkidori got some free Special Defense boosts! We should keep that in mind!

Well, only one way to test that theory! Let's show Munkidori our power!

Munkidori started plotting something sinister again, boosting its power even more!

Carmine had the same strategy as the previous two fights, which was to paralyze our opponent with Thunder Wave!

And we decided to opt for Leech Seed again, hoping to wear down Munkidori throughout the battle!

Luckily, Morpeko has a type advantage against Munkidori, which should help out a lot!

Munkidori whipped up a Sludge Wave, which damaged both Cantaloupe and Morpeko!

That Sludge Wave was so strong it fainted Cantaloupe and brought Morpeko down to 1HP!

We sent out Salal afterwards, who gave Morpeko some matcha to drink! Not sure if Morpeko would be able to hang on for longer though!

Munkidori is not as bulky as its two loyal friends, so the toughest part of the battle was to stand its powerful hits!

We already knew Munkidori's typing as we've fought it before, so we could hit its weakness with Shadow Ball!

Munkidori went with Sludge Wave again and hit both our Pokemon!

That was a double K.O.! Munkidori was giving us a much harder time than its sinister partners!

Following up, Carmine and I sent out Sinistcha and Coconut respectively! Time for us to demonstrate our double Grass power!

Coconut's Earth Power was super-effective, but it didn't do much as Munkidori got boosted Special Defense!

Carmine's Sinistcha knew Foul Play, which turned Munkidori's power against itself!

Sinistcha might be a good user of Shadow Ball, but it couldn't take Shadow Ball very well either!

We were only halfway through this battle, and we were just relying on Leech Seed to lower Munkidori's HP at this point!

Carmine sent out Mightyena next, who lowered Munkidori's Attack with Intimidate! Not sure if it really mattered though!

We continued to use Earth Power to hopefully break down Munkidori's defenses!

Mightyena used Crunch, which also lowered Munkidori's Defense! We were getting closer to finishing this thing off!

Munkidori went for Sludge Wave yet again. Mightyena didn't make it through, but Coconut was hanging on!

And Munkidori's Toxic Chain gave it another chance of poisoning Coconut! Let's finish Munkidori before Coconut got worn down by poison!

Carmine with more Grass-type Pokemon around! She sent out her Swadloon!

The battle was getting close and Ogerpon cheered us on!

Ogerpon's cheer gave us some Special Attack boost, which was exactly what we needed!

Even with that boosted Special Attack, Coconut still couldn't do enough!

I wasn't expecting Munkidori to use Nasty Plot again! I guess it really is a greedy Pokemon!

Swadloon went for Trailblaze, which isn't really a strong move, but at least it would get some Speed boost!

After what felt like forever, Coconut finally defeated Munkidori with Earth Power!

The final Pokemon of the Loyal Three has also been defeated!

The thing we cared for is the mask Munkidori dropped!

With the Wellspring Mask retrieved as well, we have successfully completed our mission in helping Ogerpon out!

Redemption Arc (Plot Stuff)

Right when we finished battling all Loyal Three, Kieran showed up and asked us something!

Kieran wanted Ogerpon and us to go back to the village! I wonder why!

Ogerpon is still not really accepted by the Kitakami folks, but Kieran told us to trust him. I will trust him then if he says so!

We went back to the village, and Ogerpon already felt scared!

Although I don't know what Kieran's up to, I trust that he would not let Ogerpon get hurt again!

Right when we stepped into the village, we could already hear villagers gossiping about Ogerpon!

The villagers were not saying bad things! They realized they've wronged Ogerpon!

We were surprised to see the villagers apologize to Ogerpon all of a sudden! I guess this must've been what Kieran was doing!

Yup! Kieran has told everyone the truth of what happened back then!

The villagers are now showering Ogerpon with love!

I wasn't actually that surprised by this! I've always known how much Kieran loves Ogerpon!

The Kitakami tradition of scaring the Oger away is finally gone! Ogerpon can now freely visit the village!

Thanks to Carmine and I's hard work, Ogerpon also got back the three masks it owns!

Everything got settled down now, we just needed to escort Ogerpon back to the Dreaded Den!

The Final Straw (1)

Time for us to spend some last moments with Ogerpon before we sent it back to the Dreaded Den!

Goodbye, Ogerpon! There should not be any dangers lurking around now that everyone knows you are a good bean!

I didn't expect Ogerpon to be so affectionate with me! Maybe I should let it travel with me instead!

I do not mind taking Ogerpon with me, but I would worry about Kieran! He probably would not feel too happy!

As expected, Kieran wanted us to have a final battle to see who should keep Ogerpon around!

As long as I manage to beat him in a battle, Kieran would not be able to raise objections to me keeping Ogerpon around!

We made some team adjustments because we cannot lose this fight!

I'll gladly accept Kieran's challenge. But if I win, he will need to respect Ogerpon's decision too!

I'm not holding back! And I believe Kieran will not be holding back either!

Kieran started off the battle with a Grass-type Pokemon! He knows my weakness just like I know his weakness!

We switched Lime out for Guava because we needed Lime to handle something else!

That was a pretty decent switch, since Shiftry was trying to flinch us with a Fake Out!

As a Shiftry trainer myself, I know Shiftry's biggest weakness! Guava's U-turn should be able to handle it without problems!

I told you I would not be holding back! I always aim to the best trainer around the world!

Kieran knew Shiftry's flimsy defense would be a problem, so he put a Focus Sash on it!

Guava did a great job there, and we had Coconut out instead!

You cannot slice through my Coconut with that Leaf Blade of yours!

We sent in Coconut because we knew Shiftry would make contact with us! Shiftry got knocked out by the Rocky Helmet!

Next up we had Salal versus Poliwrath! Water-type Pokemon should not be a big issue!

Poliwrath threw an Ice Punch at Salal's face, but Salal took it well!

We gave Poliwrath a taste of the Salal Special: Matcha Gotcha!

Salal got to recover some of its HP from using Matcha Gotcha!

Poliwrath was also holding something! It ate its Sitrus Berry and gained some health back as well!

Poliwrath used Belly Drum to maximize its Attack! But it also cut its own health by a significant amount!

With a much lower health left, Salal managed to defeat Poliwrath with another Matcha Gotcha!

Salal landed a critical hit which probably didn't matter! Let's hope we can keep up our luck!

The Final Straw (2)

Kieran's next Pokemon was our worst nightmare, Yanmega! This time we had Lime out to fight this mighty dragonfly!

Yanmega started the fight with a quick Bug Buzz! Lime barely took that hit with 5 HP left!

Time for us to take revenge with a 100000-volt Thunderbolt!

Yanmega might be a threatening powerhouse, but it couldn't take a high-power attack back!

Kieran continued his Flying-type offense with Gliscor out next! Time for us to send out Watermelon!

Gliscor did not go with a Flying-type move! Instead, it went for X-Scissor, which we are also weak to!

We were ready for this! Watermelon got some of its health back thanks to its Sitrus Berry!

Watermelon used Rain Dance, and it started raining!

Because the rain would be able to boost Watermelon's Hydro Pump!

Gliscor was not able to take that Hydro Pump at all!

Kieran sent out Probopass next, and we had Watermelon stay in the field to take advantage of the rain!

Kieran probably sent Probopass out for a reason! We tried to work around its Sturdy ability by using Leech Seed first!

Probopass used Body Press to do some damage, but at least we got Leech Seed to get some health back!

Probopass is a defensive Pokemon! It managed to take a super-effective Hydro Pump in the rain!

I knew it! Kieran was trying to use a Petaya Berry strategy in conjunction of Sturdy!

Probopass used Body Press again, and it almost got knocked out by Leech Seed! We had to remove it as soon as possible!

We would not need to worry about getting outsped when the rain is up! Probopass was safely removed!

Watermelon's reign ended when the rain stopped!

We still had our whole team while Kieran just had one Pokemon left. But I know he won't give up just yet!

Kieran's final Pokemon was also a Grass-type Pokemon, his Dipplin!

Just like when he fought Shiftry, we had Guava use U-turn as well! But Dipplin got much better bulk!

Let's see if Cantaloupe can clean things up!

Dipplin threw Syrup Bomb at Cantaloupe's face, which means she would have her Speed lowered every turn!

After every turn, Cantaloupe would get slower and Dipplin would recover some health back from Leftovers! We better finish this quickly!

After just one round of getting stuck in sticky syrup, Cantaloupe already became slower than Dipplin!

Cantaloupe actually couldn't do that much to Dipplin other than Stone Edge!

Even with a critical hit, Stone Edge really didn't do that much! Dipplin is a bulky Pokemon!

Dipplin went for Energy Ball next, and we switched to using Crunch!

Cantaloupe took another Energy Ball and barely hung on with 2 HP! She had her Special Defense lowered but that would not matter!

We were so close! Dipplin took another Stone Edge!

Cantaloupe went down against Dipplin of all things! Who knows Grass-type Pokemon would be so good at handling other Grass-type Pokemon?

Time for Guava to come back again!

Guava used U-turn again, but this time he's not leaving because he ended the battle with that!

We beat Kieran yet again, but it pained me to see him cry like that ...

He really did not need to apologize. I can totally understand his feelings, but he also needs to understand me and Ogerpon's feelings.

Now that Kieran was settled with, we could finally face Ogerpon and have it join us!

Ogerpon (1)

I want Ogerpon to come with me, so we must show it our full strength!

I picked out some of our strongest Pokemon to hopefully convince Ogerpon!

Let's do it!

Ogerpon is a special Pokemon that gets stronger when it wears a mask! And it puts on its Hearthflame Mask immediately!

Ogerpon's secret power is how it can Terastallize with its mask! Holding a Hearthflame Mask means it Terastallizes into a Fire-type!

Not only that, Ogerpon also got to raise its Attack after Terastallizing with its mask! (As if Tera-Fire and the damage boost from the mask isn't enough ...)

Ogerpon's signature attack is its Ivy Cudgel! That's what it used against the Loyal Three back in the days!

Our strategy was to use rain to slow down Ogerpon, but that didn't work at all.

If rain didn't work, maybe snow would be a better idea?

Sending Cloudberry out against a Fire-type Pokemon was not the best idea. The snow was not enough for a Defense buff!

Maybe Cantaloupe would do better? Since she got some decent Defense?

Nope. Cantaloupe didn't make it at all.

When in doubt, send Guava out. Let's see if Guava would be able to save the day!

Guava managed to outspeed Ogerpon and landed a super-effective Power Gem! That didn't really do that much though!

Well, I think it's pretty obvious that Ogerpon turned into a Fire-type with how fiery its Ivy Cudgel is!

Guava is a speedy Pokemon, but he certainly is not a bulky one. He fell in one Cudgel!

Lime is another reliable member of the team! Let's see if it can do anything!

Ogerpon decided to use Grassy Terrain instead, which would be able to heal it after every turn!

We were lucky Ogerpon didn't go for another attack this time, and Lime was able to hit it!

Once Ogerpon went back to its flaming attacks, Lime stood no chance against it!

We sent out Redcurrant as our last resort! She might have a better chance of taking hits, since she is a Fire-type herself?

Attempt #2 with some team adjustments! Let's see if the second time would be the charm!

This time we need some new strategies to show Ogerpon!

Just like last time, Ogerpon Terastallized into a Fire-type with its Hearthflame Mask, which also comes with an Attack boost!

This time, we led the fight with Cherry! Let's hope she would be able to take the heat off Ogerpon!

To our surprise, Ogerpon did not go for its signature Ivy Cudgel, and set off Grassy Terrain instead!

Our strategy is to have Cherry throw some Syrup Bomb at Ogerpon, which isn't effective at doing damage ...

But Ogerpon would have its Speed lowered every turn!

Here comes the big hit! Ogerpon went for the Ivy Cudgel next!

Cherry managed to take that hit as she got some decent defenses thanks to Eviolite.

I did not expect Cherry to do too much damage, so we went for Infestation for some steady residual damage!

Thanks to Ogerpon setting up Grassy Terrain, Cherry would be able to recover some health at the end of the turn!

Meanwhile, Infestation can offset Ogerpon's healing, and Syrup Bomb would continue to lower its Speed!

Protect is a wonderful move to stall for more HP recover! Cherry would have more than half HP after this turn!

A free turn for Infestation damage and Syrup Bomb Speed drop!

After a few turns of Speed drop, Ogerpon was then slower than even Cherry, who landed a critical hit with Dragon Pulse!

Let's see if Cherry would be able to take another fiery Cudgel!

Well, she couldn't, but she provided so much support for the team!

We sent out Watermelon next, since Ogerpon was still hitting hard with its fire Cudgel!

Watermelon safely set up Rain Dance thanks to Ogerpon being much slower!

In the rain, Watermelon could take a Fire Ivy Cudgel with around half HP left!

The Grassy Terrain was gone, but that shouldn't bother Watermelon all that much!

Because all Watermelon needed to do is to unleash a mighty Hydro Pump!

Hearthflame Ogerpon might be a fierce attacker, but it isn't too good at taking hits!

We broke the Hearthflame Mask and defeated Ogerpon!

Huh? Ogerpon still wanted to fight! (Why couldn't our Pokemon gain strength from memories of adventuring with us!)

Ogerpon put on its Wellspring Mask and challenged us to fight again!

Watermelon was thrown into the battle immediately with no time to breathe! Ogerpon's Wellspring form got a Special Defense boost as well!

This time around, Ogerpon regained all its Speed. but Watermelon swam faster under the rain and struck with a super-effective Energy Ball!

Ogerpon went for Low Kick instead this time, but I don't think Watermelon is that heavy!

Watermelon used Energy Ball again, but it didn't do that much due to Ogerpon's raised Special Defense!

Fighting Hearthflame Ogerpon wore out Watermelon for quite a bit, and she got picked up easily by the Wellspring Ogerpon!

Wellspring Ogerpon got much weaker after taking two Energy Balls. We sent out Guava to clean things up!

We showed Ogerpon the true Leif-and-Guava special, Flower Trick!

We defeated Ogerpon for a second time! But we know Ogerpon still had a mask left!

Ogerpon had a strong of will of battling! It regained strength again from our memories of retrieving the masks!

Ogerpon transformed with its Cornerstone Mask!

The Cornerstone Mask turned Ogerpon into (presumably) a stone and boosted its Defense!

The boosted Defense did not bother Guava much, who just proceeded to perform his signature Flower Trick!

Flower Trick hit through Ogerpon's Defense since it landed a critical hit! Though Ogerpon manage to toughen it out with a little amount of HP left!

Ogerpon really loves to live in the grassy fields, as it went for Grassy Terrain yet again!

The Grassy Terrain only strengthened our Flower Trick further! We defeated Ogerpon!

Ogerpon still did not give up, while it recalled memories of its partner from long ago!

Right! How could we forget Ogerpon's TEAL MASK!

Ogerpon Terastallized with the Teal Mask and boosted its Speed! My Grass-type intuition identified this form of Ogerpon being a Grass-type!

With a Speed boost, Ogerpon managed to strike before Guava, which is honestly pretty impressive!

Ivy Cudgel did quite a lot to Guava despite being not very effective! Ogerpon is really a strong Pokemon!

I think Guava helped out a lot here, but it was time for him to retreat!

U-turn was super effective, and it also allowed us to switch to someone else!

We sent out Cloudberry to hopefully finish the fight!

Ogerpon got some of its HP back from Grassy Terrain, but hopefully that would not matter too much!

Ogerpon used Low Kick on Cloudberry, who managed to take it well thanks to the snow!

But getting hit first was our plan all along! Cloudberry lashed back with a strong Avalanche!

I think we defeated Ogerpon for good this time!

We've proved our strength to Ogerpon! It should be willing to join our team!

We were given a chance to catch Ogerpon and I think a Luxury Ball would fit it best!

We successfully caught Ogerpon, and without a doubt, it would be travelling with us!

Let's officially welcome Starfruit the Ogerpon to our team!

We also received Ogerpon's masks, which would be useful for Ogerpon in battles!

That fight was pretty tough, but we succeeded at the end!

Kieran didn't say it, but I know he was not happy to see me catch Ogerpon ...

Kieran ran away crying! But he can still be friends with Ogerpon even if I caught her!

Kieran did promise to let us keep Ogerpon since we beat him in a battle, but I understand his feelings ...

We needed some rest after four fights in a row!

On the next day, Carmine told us to meet her at Loyalty Plaza! I guess she had something to tell me!

Hmm, you better ask Carmine about that ...

I'm excited to make more memories with Starfruit on our team!

We made some adjustments to Starfruit's moveset!

For right now, I gave Starfruit her Hearthflame Mask and she transformed into her fiery form!

Starfruit Debut Fight

We met Carmine at the Loyalty Plaza, but I assumed she wanted to do more than just telling me the Mask Retrieval Squad is done for!

Like what I thought, Kieran has not been like himself, and he is acting even weirder since we caught Ogerpon.

Well, we all meant the best for Kieran, and it was unfortunate that he did not like what we did!

Speaking of Ogerpon, Carmine requested a battle with Ogerpon on our team!

She knows me well! I would not say no to a friendly battle!

Time for us to actually try using Starfruit on our team, whose battle strategy revolves around her masks!

We led off the battle with Starfruit, since Carmine would like to battle her!

Starfruit's Mold Breaker was not able to save us from getting intimidated!

As what we've experienced first handedly, Starfruit's Ivy Cudgel changed to Fire-type just like herself!

Starfruit used Low Kick to hit Mightyena's weakness, but it actually did not do that much!

I would not try biting Starfruit when she's on fire!

Time for Carmine and her Mightyena to experience to horror of getting hit by Ivy Cudgel!

Ivy Cudgel is not just a regular strong attack! It also has a higher chance of landing critical hits!

Next up, we sent out Watermelon to fight Carmine's Ninetales!

Ninetales tried to roast us with Flamethrower, but Watermelon did not quite care!

Watermelon lashed back with a Hydro Pump, and it came close to knocking Ninetales out in one hit!

We tried to blast again with Hydro Pump, but Ninetales stopped us by using Disable first!

Ninetales changed its strategy from all-out offense to wearing us down with Will-O-Wisp!

Watermelon finished Ninetales with an Energy Ball! Now that's something you don't see every day!

Carmine showed her love of Grass-type by sending out Leavanny next! As a response, we sent out Starfruit again!

Time for Starfruit to use her favorite weapon, the Ivy Cudgel, again!

To the surprise of no one, Leavanny could not take the hit at all!

Carmine had another Grass-type Pokemon, her Sinistcha!

If you matcha are not hot enough, you may try to heat them up with some hot Ivy Cudgel!

Sinistcha managed to take that hit thanks to its Occa Berry!

Sinistcha revenged with a malicious Hex! Luckily for us, Starfruit took the hit with some HP left!

Your Occa Berry was effective the first time, but it won't be here to help you for the second time!

Carmine's final Pokemon was the one she usually starts with, her Morpeko!

We battled alongside Morpeko several times, and we know it would not be able to take that many hits!

Morpeko would've been knocked out, if it weren't for its stinky Focus Sash!

By the way, Coconut lowered Morpeko's Special Defense. Not that it mattered, right?

Ouch! Morpeko got to lash out with extra power! It almost knocked out Coconut in one hit!

That was quite stressful, but that also meant Morpeko would knock itself out because of the Rocky Helmet!

We defeated Carmine, this time with Ogerpon's power!

Say Goodbye (Plot Stuff)

I think all my Pokemon formed a strong team, but Starfruit got along with the rest of team really easily!

Carmine still had something to tell us, but we were disrupted by Ms. Briar's phone call!

Ms. Briar told us to go back to the community center, since everyone finished their assignment!

We were so busy helping Ogerpon out I almost forgot we had an orienteering going on!

And now we what? Why do I feel like something bad is going to happen?

Most of the students gather right in front of the community center, but I noticed Kieran not being here!

We did it! We finished visiting all the signboards, although we also know that the folktales are not the full story!

Ms. Briar gave us each a Kitakami Mochi Set to celebrate our work!

To be fair, the assignments were not that tough, compared to fighting titanic loyal Pokemon!

We got to stay in Kitakami for a little longer, but Carmine, Kieran and Ms. Briar would be returning to the Blueberry Academy already!

The Great Crater? I wonder what's wrong with that place!

Kieran was apparently feeling unwell, but I felt like that was not the reason why he did not come.

Oh Carmine! Why can't you be kind to the kids for once?

Haha! I knew Carmine was just playing with us! She actually really cared about us!

I'm sure all the Naranja Academy students had fun too! Kitakami is such an interesting place to visit!

I hope I would be able to visit the Blueberry Academy one day! That place sounds like a great place for battling!

We had to say goodbye, but I'm sure we will see each other again!

Our school trip to Kitakami is officially over! I'm so glad I got to join this wonderful event!

Ogre Clan (1)

Ms. Briar said we were free to stay in Kitakami for a little bit longer, and we found someone talking about the ogre!

There are a group of strong trainers called the Kitakami Ogre Clan who challenge trainers around Kitakami!

We were told that there are seven members to the clan, and I'm down to fighting each and every one of them!

Now that I think about it, I do recall seeing trainers wearing ogre masks at different places!

We found the first Kitakami Ogre Clan member, who threatened to strike us with lightning!

We started to battle with Cantaloupe against Raichu. I noticed that Raichu was a few levels higher than Cantaloupe!

Raichu set up a Light Screen, which did not bother Cantaloupe, but we would need to keep that in mind!

Cantaloupe went all-out with her Headlong Rush! It was super effective against the electrifying Raichu!

Raichu was knocked out in one hit! I think Cantaloupe did great there despite the level disadvantage!

The Ogre Clan member sent out Luxray, and we sent out our next Ground-type Pokemon, Coconut!

It was a trap! Coconut got bitten by a freezing Ice Fang! Coconut went down in one hit!

At least Luxray got punished by Coconut's Rocky Helmet before he fully fainted!

Starfruit cannot tolerate such a horrible crime against Grass-type Pokemon, and she will punish Luxray for us!

Starfruit's Ivy Cudgel did over half Luxray's health despite not being super-effective!

Luxray used Electric Terrain and turned the ground into electricity! Is it still safe to stand here?

If one Ivy Cudgel was not enough, give your opponent another Ivy Cudgel!

We sent Cantaloupe back out against Probopass, who should be really weak to Headlong Rush!

We hit through Probopass's massive weakness of Headlong Rush, but it endured the hit with its Sturdy body!

That could be dangerous for us, since Cantaloupe got her defenses lowered from using Headlong Rush!

Luckily for us, Probopass did not attack and go for Gravity instead! Not sure why but Cantaloupe sure did not mind!

The opponents' Light Screen wore off, not that it mattered for us!

Cantaloupe is usually a slow Pokemon, but she is at least fast enough to finish Probopass!

Next up we had Starfruit versus Vikavolt!

Vikavolt took advantage of the Electric Terrain by its Electric Seed!

A big nasty bug like Vikavolt would normally be a nightmare for us, but Starfruit was here to save the day!

Ivy Cudgel's high critical hit chance came in handy! We knocked out Vikavolt before it could even buzz!

We have defeated the first member of the Kitakami Ogre Clan! Six more to go!

Well said! That's the spirit of Pokemon battling! This Ogre Clan seems pretty cool for me!

Our reward for beating one Ogre Clan member was a Focus Sash!

Starfruit is fierce with her Hearthflame Mask! Let's try the Wellspring Mask next!

This place we found seemed to be home to many Flying-type Pokemon, as evident in the flying Noctowl and the Dual Wingbeat TM we found.

This place is called the Fallen Horn! But I'm not going to be the one to fall here!

We found the second Ogre Clan member, who threatened to wash us away with the rain!

You know it would start raining when the frogs start croaking!

This Politoed was not here to mess around! It struck Hawthorn with an Ice Beam before he could even move!

Which wasn't really a big deal, since Hawthorn could just heal himself with Horn Leech!

Hawthorn took another Ice Beam at his face and hung on with 1HP!

Hawthorn ended up being the winner! I guess he really is good at adapting to weathers!

The best way to tackle a weather-based team is to set up your own weather!

Though Ludicolo just set up Rain Dance again, removing Cloudberry's efforts!

Even with the weather going warmer, Cloudberry still managed to connect Blizzard!

He also froze Ludicolo with that chilling Blizzard! Ludicolo would not be able to dance around for a couple turns!

Cloudberry went all-out with his offenses while Ludicolo was just standing there freezing!

The rainwater would not be able to melt your frozen Ludicolo!

Ludicolo went down with another brutal Wood Hammer, this time landing a critical hit!

You aren't the only one with Pokemon that thrives under rain! We sent out Watermelon against Drednaw!

(Guess who DERPed hard and used Hydro Pump instead of Energy Ball agaisnt a Water/Rock Pokemon)

Drednaw wanted a taste of Watermelon! It used Jaw Lock and landed a critical hit!

Jaw Lock came with an effect that prevented Watermelon and Drednaw from escaping! Not that we were trying to escape anyways!

Drednaw is the one who should be running away when Watermelon was firing her Energy Ball!

The rain cannot wash us away, if it isn't even raining to begin with!

The final Pokemon we faced was Basculegion, a rare Pokemon lurking in the land of Kitakami!

Without the rain support, Guava outsped Basculegion easily and performed his Flower Trick per usual!

We came close! Basculegion took Flower Trick with just a few HP left!

Guava easily took a Wave Crash from Basculegion!

Basculegion is a Pokemon skilled at using recoil-inducing moves, but that came back to bite in this instance!

We defeated the second Ogre Clan member and got five Exp. Candy XL as reward!

We didn't really get to use Starfruit's Wellspring Form, but it was time to try out the Cornerstone Mask!

We found the third Ogre Clan member who seemed to focus on raw strength!

We started the battle with Cloudberry against Ambipom!

Who knew this monkey would be throwing fiery punches! Cloudberry barely hung on thanks to his boosted Defense in snow!

That was just enough for Cloudberry to set up Aurora Veil for the team!

Cloudberry got snatched away by this nasty monkey! But I know that we still got this!

Next up we had Starfruit out in her Cornerstone Form, turning into a Rock-type!

THIEF? DID YOU JUST TRY TO STEAL STARFRUIT'S BELOVED MASK?

ALERT! WE'VE FOUND THE FOURTH LOYAL POKEMON! TIME TO CRUSH IT WITH IVY CUDGEL!

ARE YOU ACTUALLY A MUNKIDORI IN DISGUISE?

Anyways, everyone who tries to steal Starfruit's masks again must be punished.

Another greedy came in! This time it was the glutton, Greedent, who runs around stealing berries!

Greedent is surprising light, making Low Kick ineffective!

Greedent tried to hurt us with Earthquake, but Starfruit could take it well!

The snow stopped, but it didn't really affect us!

Starfruit used Ivy Cudgel, but it didn't really do that much!

We needed to do some heavy damage on Greedent before it could wear Starfruit down with Earthquake!

We switched to Lime, who dodged an incoming Earthquake with Levitate!

Greedent isn't weak to Thunderbolt, but it took quite a lot of damage there!

But Greedent was holding a Figy Berry and got even more HP restored thanks to its Cheek Pouch!

Greedent went for Body Slam next, which would not be able to paralyze Lime!

Thunderbolt worked pretty well last time, so we went for it once more!

EW! GROSS! Greedent burped so hard that it released toxic gases!

We couldn't let Greedent belch again, so we upped our Leaf-power with a mighty Leaf Storm!

Greedent finally went down, but at what cost?

Speaking of glutton, we had Salal up against Snorlax next!

Snorlax is a dangerous Pokemon, and we should stun it a little bit first!

Snorlax used Heavy Slam and did quite a lot! I guess Salal is too light!

Snorlax was doing too much damage! Let's change that with a nice Strength Sap and heal Salal as well!

Our Stun Spore strategy worked quite well, preventing Snorlax from more Heavy Slamming!

Salal boiled some hot matcha for Snorlax, but Snorlax didn't take that much damage!

As if Snorlax on its own is not annoying enough, it was even holding Leftovers!

Salal would not be able to do much to Snorlax, so we switched to Guava instead!

Guava's Flower Trick is always reliable in fighting beefy opponents!

Snorlax boosted its Attack and Defense even more by using Curse!

Not that it would matter, since Guava's Flower Trick ignores its Defense boosts anyways!

Snorlax boosted with Curse again, but it still did not stop Guava from performing his tricks!

We couldn't quite finish Snorlax, and we got revenged on with Body Slam instead!

Time for Starfruit to punish her opponents again!

Now I'm sure Low Kick would do a lot to Snorlax! Even with its Defense boosts!

The final Pokemon we faced was Maushold! We had Salal back out again!

Maushold cleaned up a little and boosted its Attack and Speed!

We made some Matcha Gotcha again, but it also didn't do much to Maushold!

Salal's matcha was so delicious Maushold wanted another bite!

Salal, you shouldn't be afraid of some little mice!

With a Speed boost, Maushold outsped Salal and bit it again! Salal went down!

I trust that Lime would be able to clean things up! With a better broom than Maushold's!

Maushold went for the boosts again with yet another Tidy Up!

Lime burned Maushold to offset its Attack boosts!

Maushold went for the Tidy Up again! It just really wanted to clean!

Your Attack boosts mean nothing if you don't make attacks! Maushold went down from a single Thunderbolt!

Our reward for beating the third Ogre Clan member was an Assault Vest

We found the fourth Ogre Clan member by a pond!

They threatened us with their glacial strength and sent out a Carbink against Coconut!

We showed them our grassy strength with Coconut's Power Whip! It didn't quite do that much despite being super-effective!

Carbink set up Stealth Rock on our side! We needed to keep that in mind while switching around!

We blasted Carbink with a super-super-effective Flash Cannon, but that wasn't enough either!

Carbink is a great defensive Pokemon, but it can't do that much damage in return! Moonblast didn't do much, but it did lower Coconut's Special Attack!

Not that it mattered, since Coconut would be able to finish Carbink up with Earth Power anyways!

We switched to Starfruit to fight Froslass, but she got hurt by the pointed stones on her way in!

The weather was fine, but Froslass made it snow instead!

Under the snow, Froslass could take hits better and hung on even after an Ivy Cudgel!

What? You already made it snow, why're you using that again?

Thanks to Froslass doing nothing that turn, Starfruit safely cleaned Froslass up with a Horn Leech!

Golem was up next to fight Starfruit! We didn't switch around because of Stealth Rock!

Surprisingly, Starfruit hit through Golem's rocky defenses and knocked it out in one hit!

The final Pokemon we faced was Mamoswine!

Mamoswine shattered the earth with an Earthquake, but Starfruit isn't actually weak to that!

Starfruit used Ivy Cudgel and did a lot to Mamoswine!

Mamoswine threw some Ice Shards at Starfruit before she could even act!

Starfruit went down, but we can all agree she did a lot in that fight!

Mamoswine got extra bulk thanks to the snow. Let's hope that it would be easy to handle without the snow!

We sent out Watermelon, who took some damage from Stealth Rock as well!

Mamoswine continued to threaten us with another Earthquake, but Watermelon resists that well!

That was just enough to make Watermelon hungry and eat her Sitrus Berry!

We showed that mammoth our true Grass power with a super-effective Energy Ball!

We defeated the fourth Ogre Clan member and received ten Rare Candies!

We went down a hot cave next to the hot spring and found a Big Nugget!

We found the fifth Ogre Clan member who excels at martial arts!

The great martial battle with Starfruit versus Heracross!

We got lucky on the very first turn! Starfruit dodged an incoming Megahorn!

What could possibly go wrong with slamming your foes with ivy cudgels?

Starfruit landed a critical hit! I guess she really does not like bugs!

Raspberry made a return and faced against Conkeldurr!

Even the most hard-working martial artists need to rest sometimes!

Conkeldurr would not be able to wreak havoc while it is asleep!

Raspberry didn't really do that much even with the super-effective Acrobatics. But that's okay because Conkeldurr was still asleep!

Conkeldurr must have been really tired, cause it took a long nap!

Raspberry once again proved himself to be a good at fighting against Fighting-type!

We sent out Cloudberry against Kommo-o, hoping to cool it down!

Cloudberry almost got knocked out by Aura Sphere in one blow! This turned real bad for us!

At least Cloudberry still managed to do significant damage to Kommo-o with a chilling Blizzard!

Kommo-o used Clanging Scales! Sometimes I wish Cloudberry would be able to block sound moves!

Cloudberry stood no chance against that, but at least Kommo-o got its Defense lowered!

Uh-oh! I wasn't expecting Kommo-o to spray its throat after that! This was getting really dangerous!

Well, Raspberry does not enjoy snowy days, but we had to trust him to take care of Kommo-o!

Nice! Raspberry did just enough to knock Kommo-o out! That lowered Defense definitely helped us out!

The final Pokemon we faced was Gallade! We sent out Salal to take care of it!

Woah! Gallade tried to slice Salal's teacup with Night Slash and it did so much!

Salal lashed out with a strong Shadow Ball and did a lot to Gallade as well!

Shadow Ball also lowered Gallade's Special Defense, which would hopefully help us out!

But Gallade was faster and spilled all of Salal's hot matcha!

Raspberry has been doing so well in this fight, let's hope he can finish Gallade as well!

Argh! I wasn't expecting Gallade to be faster! Raspberry fell to Psycho Cut before he could even move!

Starfruit would not stand such brutality against Grass-type Pokemon!

Except Starfruit crumbled to Gallade too before she could do anything!

Lime has always been a star member on the team, so I trust it to be able to handle Gallade!

No way! Even Lime could not fight back against Gallade! We lost four Pokemon just to this Gallade alone!

Coconut was our final hope! We must not give in when we still had Coconut by our side!

Coconut was the only one who could outspeed Gallade! And he managed to connect Power Whip!

Coconut saved the day! Power Whip was more than enough to finish up Gallade!

We cut it real close, but a win is still a win!

Our fifth reward was a pair of Choice Specs! A powerful item but a little bit difficult to utilize as well!

Inside the bamboo forest, we found the sixth Ogre Clan member who was trying to bewitch us with their moves!

Right off the bat, we already had an unfavorable matchup with Guava versus Grimmsnarl!

But that wasn't a big problem, because we could just Terastallize Guava into pure Grass-type!

We were going to strike Grimmsnarl, but that thing set up a Reflect first!

Thanks to the Reflect screen, Grimmsnarl did not take that much from Play Rough!

I bet your reflective screen would not be able to reflect this Flower Trick!

Flower Trick brought Grimmsnarl to low health and it was about time for it to surrender!

Ouch! That was a False Surrender! We got fooled!

Guava went and finished Grimmsnarl with another Tera-powered up Flower Trick!

Now that's a real surrender!

We sent out Cloudberry for Ribombee next!

Cloudberry made it snow ...? Except we could see more raindrops in the field!

Ribombee laid out a sticky web on our side! That's why I don't like bees!

Since Ribombee did not actually attack us, Avalanche did not do that much!

Uh-oh! Ribombee started its Quiver Dance shenanigans! This was looking scary!

Under the rain/snow?, Cloudberry managed to connect Blizzard and freeze Ribombee!

Great.

Ribombee was unbothered by the freeze and started dancing again!

Cloudberry blew another Blizzard, but as expected, that wasn't enough to finish Ribombee!

You know, maybe Cloudberry needs to get some soundproofing screens.

Cloudberry stood no change against that super-effective Bug Buzz after two boosts!

We sent Starfruit out to hopefully deal with Ribombee, but she got caught in the sticky web!

At least Starfruit could take that fierce Bug Buzz!

Starfruit lashed back at Ribombee with her signature Ivy Cudgel! Ribombee was finally gone for good!

And that was enough time for the Reflect to go away too!

Gardevoir was up next, and we let Starfruit stay in the field!

The Sticky Web lowering Starfruit's speed meant Gardevoir could move first and finish Starfruit with a Psychic!

Even though Salal is constantly floating and has no feet, it still managed to step(?) on the sticky web!

Gardevoir thought that Salal was not hot enough, and boiled it up with some Mystical Fire!

Not only was that super-effective, but it also lowered Salal's Special Attack!

Salal could not do that much against Gardevoir after that Special Attack drop!

Well, we got some drops for us too! Gardevoir would hopefully be easier to handle after that Special Defense drop!

But Salal could not move before Gardevoir struck it with a Psychic!

We sent out Lime next, and it floated above the sticky web, maintaining its Speed!

Which meant that Lime could actually strike before Gardevoir!

And one more Shadow Ball was all it took to clean things up!

We sent out Coconut against the final Pokemon, Clefable! The sticky web tripped Coconut up, but he would probably still be fine!

Of course Clefable would have Flamethrower! At least Coconut could take hits fairly well!

Roasting wild mushrooms might lead to hypnotizing effect and put you to sleep!

Coconut went and struck Clefable with Flash Cannon while it was still asleep!

That Flash Cannon was not bright enough to wake Clefable up!

Actually, Power Whip might be a little bit stronger than Flash Cannon!

Come on, you're asleep! How did you eat that berry up!

After one round of sweet dreams, Clefable woke up and fired another Flamethrower!

No time to put Clefable back to sleep, we needed to do as much damage as we could!

But at last, Coconut could not stand the multiple hits of Flamethrower and fell to Clefable!

Clefable was worn down, we just needed Guava to clean things up quick!

Even with the sticky web slowing Guava down, he still outsped Clefable with his Flower Trick!

We had four teammates down in this battle, but we managed to beat the bewitching Ogre Clan member!

Our rewards were three Ability Capsules! That would allow us to switch the abilities of our Pokemon!

The capsules were not useful right now, but we'll see who to give them to!

Ogre Clan (7)

After giving it some thoughts, I decided to give an Ability Capsule to Dragonfruit and change her ability to Ripen!

In the Paradise Barrens, we found the seventh and the final member of the Kitakami Ogre Clan!

This is not going to be an easy fight, as we can see Ninetales as the lead setting up harsh sunlight for the field!

Ninetales tried to burn Watermelon with Will-O-Wisp, but Watermelon avoided the attack!

Some Grass-type Pokemon enjoy being under sunlight, but not in front of a Fire-type Pokemon!

Watermelon definitely prefers playing in the rain instead! She can swim faster than a Ninetales on a rainy day!

We easily handled Ninetales thanks to the boost from the rain! And we had the rain out as well!

Oh Apricot, is that your distant cousin?

Watermelon blasted an Ice Beam at Shiftry, but that wasn't quite enough to finish it off!

What? Shiftry used Explosion! That poor thing!

Both of the Pokemon were knocked out with that move! At least we had two opposing Pokemon gone!

Next up we had Raspberry against Chandelure! Why didn't the rain put out Chandelure's flames?

Sleep Powder is a good move to use when facing against strong foes, except when it misses, of course!

Thankfully, the rain weakened the power of Flamethrower, and Raspberry managed to take that hit!

We went for Sleep Powder again, and we managed to connect this time!

Chandelure was sleeping for so long the rain stopped!

Raspberry would not be able to do much against Chandelure, so we switched back to Starfruit, who was wearing the Cornerstone Mask, instead!

Chandelure was still having a sweet slumber, and Starfruit did not take any damage switching in!

Starfruit punished Chandelure with a Cornerstone-special Ivy Cudgel!

That's three Pokemon down! And just one more left!

The battle ended with some Grass-on-Grass action! Raspberry fighting against Lilligant!

Lilligant immediately started its Quiver Dances! Let's try to keep it under control before it goes too crazy!

Raspberry used Acrobatics! We know he's an expert in his Acrobatics tricks!

Raspberry landed a critical hit, but it didn't do much thanks to Lilligant's Coba Berry!

Lilligant struck with Pollen Puff and knocked Raspberry out!

Raspberry was probably our best option to fight against Lilligant! Let's hope that we could stop it before it gets even stronger!

We sent out Starfruit next! Let's see who the better Grass-type user is!

Lilligant's Pollen Puff was really threatening for our Grass-type buddies! Even Starfruit could not stand up to that!

But Starfruit managed to hang on thanks to her Sturdy ability!

Starfruit is always good at uphill battles like this! She struck back with a rocky Ivy Cudgel!

Phew! That's all four Pokemon gone, which means we won!

Our final reward was a Choice Band, which is more or less similar to the Choice Specs!

We did it! We conquered the Kitakami Ogre Clan! With our sweet ogre, Starfruit, too!

Plot twist! We had one more Ogre Clan member to fight, and it was the guy who asked us to fight the Ogre Clan members to begin with!

Merry Christmas, everyone! A wonderful time to wrap up our journey in Kitakami!

The final battle before we conquered the entire Kitakami Ogre Clan!

We were challenged by the secret master and the eighth member of the Kitakami Ogre Clan, Muramasa!

Our final battle started with Coconut versus Gengar!

Gengar started with a Will-O-Wisp to burn Coconut down! That would mean Coconut could not stay in the field for too long!

Dangerous foes like Gengar should always be put to sleep!

Coconut struck with a super-effective Earth Power on Gengar!

But Gengar disabled our Earth Power with its Cursed Body!

That didn't really matter, since Gengar was still taking its nap!

Coconut could not use Earth Power, so we went for Flash Cannon instead!

Shouldn't flashing lights be super effective against Ghosts? Anyways, Coconut knocked out Gengar!

Next up was a fellow Grass-type Pokemon, Trevenant! We sent out Starfruit to deal with that!

Starfruit used her favorite move, Ivy Cudgel and almost took out Trevenant in one hit!

Trevenant lashed back with a Shadow Claw, and it actually hurt quite a lot! Never underestimate the power of a haunted tree!

Starfruit quickly followed up with a Throat Chop and finished Trevenant!

I wonder if Grass-type Pokemon would be scared of Trevenant, since it is pretty much an undead tree?

Muramasa sent out his third Pokemon, Crawdaunt!

Ugh! Crawdaunt also avoided the one-hit KO with a tiny bit of health left!

Watermelon didn't mind taking a Knock Off hit, but she lost her favorite Sitrus Berry from that!

But Crawdaunt just didn't stand a chance against Watermelon!

Next up we had Starfruit back to fight Kingambit!

Oh no! Kingambit was here to avenge its fallen teammates! And there were three of them!

Kingambit was a bulky Pokemon that managed to take a fiery Ivy Cudgel!

Kingambit gave us a Kowtow and cut through Starfruit!

Starfruit did great in this battle, but Kingambit was too powerful with its fallen teammates behind it!

Coconut returned to the battlefield, even though he was still burned and worn down!

Well, Coconut was also determined to avenge his fallen friend, Starfruit! Kingambit was then safely removed!

The final Pokemon we faced was Dusclops, and we had Guava out to deal with that!

Dusclops is a defensive Pokemon that doesn't mind taking a super-effective Night Slash!

Dusclops used Pain Split, which wore down Guava and healed itself up!

Pain Split undid most of our damage, but I know that Guava had this in him!

(I hope you like seeing Guava use Night Slash, because that's all we're doing.)

(I hope you like seeing Dusclops use Pain Split because that's all it's doing.)

(Really could've used a critical hit there, it's almost like that's what Night Slash is about.)

(Leif used Pain Split and shared his pain battling this Dusclops with the entire Orange Islands!)

After what felt like an eternity, we managed to defeat Dusclops!

We defeated the secret mastermind behind the Kitakami Ogre Clan!

Now tell me your secrets! What is the Ogre Clan planning?

The Kitakami Ogre Clan was actually just some trainers trying to train up Kitakami kids! It's almost like a small Pokemon League!

The Kitakami Ogre Clan is definitely stronger than the average trainer, but we've proven our strength!

Our final reward from the Ogre Clan was an Ability Patch, a rare item that changes Pokemon Abilities. I'll save this for later!

Yay! I guess that means we've become the very best trainer in Kitakami as well! Let's see where we will be heading next then!
