Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I don't have the set bc IM on phone but like a ho water team with webs lead surskit because I haven't played enough this gen to know what a well structured surskit squad should use.
E: nvm here's the set
Surskit @ Focus Sash
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Toxic
- Sticky Web
- Scald
- Icy Wind

I chose to make this team rain because of the speed that Sticky Webs provide. We have the SS core of Pelipper, Mega Swampert and Kingdra, with Mega Swampert being our rocks setter and Electric immunity. Choice Specs Kingdra is a staple on all Rain teams, being a very good Rain abuser as well as a wallbreaker with Choice Specs. I added Scarf Keldeo since I noticed that the team struggled with faster opponents outside of rain so I added Keldeo for speed control. Manaphy is a setup sweeper with Z-Rain Dance and Tail Glow and can use Z-Surf to break past bulky opponents. Surskit is here for webs support and helps with Specs Pelipper's low speed.
Christmas came early for you, and your present was a relatively decent Ice team based around psychic surge Jynx.
I have changed absolutely nothing about Jynx as it is fine as it is, however it did need some teammates.
I started by figuring out who was going to be the hazard setter for the team since offensive ice would likely lose to triage users easily.
I decided to make the team a pilo team so that hazards could be laid reliably and so ice would not get easily swept. Piloswine carries flash fire to ensure that no fire users try to go crazy on the team, it also allows it to set rocks or toxic on them as well. It also carries rock slide and earthquake in order to deal with those who are weak to the moves. Mamoswine carries slush rush in order to act as the teams speed control and provide a powerful attacker on the team as well as it now runs adamant in order to pack a punch on the team. Weavile is another powerful physical attacker that pursuit traps and does great amounts of damage with tough claws + Life orb. Ice punch is used over icicle crash in order to benefit from the power buff that tough claws is. Avalugg will be the annoying magic bouncer/tank on the team. It can get rid of hazards and switch in on hazards, allowing it to stop rocks and physical setup sweepers with roar.
Lastly Froslass is used to provide a fighting immunity and additional utility in veil, taunt, and spikes. It also helps mamoswine become a speedy threat.
Hi! I'd like to request a Fighting monoteam around Toxicroak. This little guy can be super useful in the Psychic matchup and against other threats like Alolan Raichu due to Sucker Punch and gets a super useful immunity to Water-type moves with Dry Skin. I tried to build around it for some time, but I hit a wall everytime. Anyway, thanks in advance for building with Toxicroak! Ü
Mold Breaker and Liquid Ooze are both pretty nice pre-mega abilities. Mold Breaker is nice alongside Tspikes if you need to get them up against Ghost(Gengar won't like coming in on this thing), but Liquid Ooze can be nice for coming in on Mega Venusaur.
Muk-Alola @ Air Balloon
Ability: Poison Touch
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Atk / 124 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Pursuit
- Poison Jab
- Shadow Sneak
Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 144 SpD / 108 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Acid Spray
I originally tried to build around mega beedrill + salazzle but alas I couldn't make it work. Instead I went down the balanced route. The Salazzle is Poisinium Z to beat mantine and hence wallbreak vs flying. I decided on air balloon muk for a ground immunity which can hopefully pursuit excadrill and get it into range of nihilego/toxicroak. Hope you like the team!
There has been minor changes, the limit to request a core is now 7 days instead of 10, but in the past there has been a lack of description in requesting cores, please try to give a decent description when reserving a core. [Also please specify if you want a regular Mono team or an OM in ur post]
You may still request Monotype OMs as we try to encourage more users to get involved in these tiers (they are pretty fun)
If no builder requested a core in 7 days, anyone in the community is free to do so but please make sure its a viable team.
Lastly, there are a couple new builders that were added after talking to the other builders, so please check the OP for the updated builders.
Cryogonal @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 20 SpD / 240 Spe
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Recover
- Freeze-Dry
- Knock Off
While Rotom-Frost is considered a better Defogger, Cryogonal still offers something substantial. With Knock Off utility, it can survive a powerful hit from special attacking Choice Scarf Pokemon and remove their item, allowing a fast teammate like Weavile to pick them off:
252 SpA Blacephalon Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 20 SpD Cryogonal: 306-362 (84.2 - 99.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Gengar Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 20 SpD Cryogonal: 200-236 (55 - 65%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252 SpA Nihilego Power Gem vs. 248 HP / 20 SpD Cryogonal: 294-348 (80.9 - 95.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
Also, unlike Rotom-Frost, it can remove hazards more consistently against Water, while simultaneously being able to handle hazard setters like Swampert and Toxapex. Overall, I'd be really happy seeing a team built around this
Requesting a Balanced Water team around Sap Sipper Azumarill:
Azumarill @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 240 HP / 16 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Perish Song
- Whirlpool
- Protect
- Scald / Toxic / Knock off
Sap sipper azumarill makes it easier for water teams to check threatening grass types such as tapu bulu,Breloom, Ferrothorn even other threats such as Mega Charizard Y and now perish song is compatible with whirlpool and so it also acts as a good Trapper since it has also has pretty good bulk. Feel free to change EVs if needed,Thanks in advance.

The team is fairly simple and standard. z move blacephalon was the thing you requested for me to build around. blacephalon can run other sets such as Taunt over HP Ice to help setup on pokemon such as Chansey. Gengar is the teams main form of speed control and can run thunderbolt over trick to hit pokemon like Gyarados and Mantine. Mega Sableye is a very phenomenal wall that prevents the opponent from spreading status and setting hazards while being able to cripple physical attackers. Knock Off allows Sableye's to remove items allowing it to 1v1 some pokemon that it usually wouldnt be able to such as Landorus-I. However Foul Play can be better against pokemon such as Mega Scizor which rely on setup to effectively sweep. Jellicent is running alot of speed so it can hit 201 speed allowing it to outpace pokemon such as Mega Venusaur, this is a precaution just incase Blacephalon gets trapped by Muk and overall is nice for not letting pokemon such as Skarmory and p2 not recover or spread status. Golurk really only serves as the teams rocks setter and can somewhat annoy pokemon with confusion off dynamic punch. Mimikyu is a standard edition to any ghost-type team and does the same thing here as every other ghost team.
Requesting a LC Bug team around Sticky Web Dewpider:
Dewpider @ Eviolite
Ability: Water Bubble
Level: 5
EVs: 52 HP / 196 Atk / 20 Def / 180 SpD / 60 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Liquidation
- Scald
- Leech Life
- Sticky Web
With the tutors introduced in USUM Dewpider gets Sticky Web now, which allows Bug teams to free an slot by replacing surskit, which was only there to set up webs. This also doesn't affect Dewpider's moveset drastically since Poison Jab can be the replaced move, which wasn't really useful in most of the matchups (Fairy is non existent). I'd like to see what Pokemon the builder decides to use instead of Surskit: Venipede, Venonat...
After starting with Wingull on the team, it was obvious that I needed Stealth Rock support from Tirtouga, who simultaneously is filling the role as a Shell Smash sweeper alongside Shellder. Zen Headbutt can sometimes work over Aqua Jet if you feel that the team needs something extra for Poison, but having another priority sweeper is always nice. After adding these 2 Shell Smash sweepers, I knew that Tirtouga would appreciate both hazard control and Toxic Spikes support, both of which could be compressed into Tentacool. Sludge Bomb is an option over Knock Off if you feel that it needs some more presence in the Grass matchup, but that choice is up to you. Carvanha also appreciates Toxic Spikes support, and can serve as an effective late-game cleaner with Speed Boost. Finally, Chinchou is the team's primary revenge killer, capable of removing threats like +1 Scraggy after some Toxic Spikes chip, while also being able to pivot around with Volt Switch. Overall, I had fun testing this team, and I hope you have fun with it too.
Alright so the pokemon the team was built around was PerishPool Azumarill. From my point of view, this Azumarill set pairs well with a set up sweeper of the sort, so I chose Calm Mind Mega Slowbro rather than Vincune and Dragon Dance Gyarados, which I felt like that they did not benefit from Azumarill as Slowbro did. Since this is a balance team, I put Toxapex in for the next slot since it is essentially a glue for most balance water teams. For the next slot, I wanted an electric immunity to pair up well with my grass immunity, so I chose Swampert, as it also fills in the role of being a stealth rocker. This team was looking like it couldn't fit a Mega Diancie switch-in, so that resulted in me maximizing the special defensive stat on the Swampert. The psychic match up looked pretty bad, and the team needed some speed control, so Scarf Greninja was obvious choice for this slot. Finally, the team needed some answers to normal and flying, so I put Waterium Z Keldeo for this slot. Not using Choice Specs as the item allows you to switch moves so you don't have to try and catch Mantine each time with HP Electric.
Also, if you have any questions about the team, or if you want me to go in depth as to why I chose Mega Slowbro over anything else, feel free to contact me! Sorry this took a while, but I hope you enjoy :p
This Pokemon is the definition of Psychic HO in the Ubers format, pairing its unique ability, Terrain Extender, and the most threatening breakers to ever exist (Deo-A, U-Necrozma, M2Y, Hoopa-U, etc.) in order to obliterate any teams' defensive backbone. Considering the vast amount of options Psychic has at its disposal, I simply couldn't choose where to start. Thank you again in advance! :)
Hello Monotype builders! I'm requesting a fighting lc team around Scarf Moxie Scraggy. I read it's one of the biggest threats in Mono LC, so I thought "let's start with that." Fighting is one of the better types in normal LC, but I have no idea about the Monotype LC meta (although it sounds really neat and monotype has always been a favorite meta of mine in general). Basic idea is to rkill something and then start snowballing. Thanks in advance!
Scraggy @ Choice Scarf
Level: 5
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 212 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Knock Off
- Poison Jab
- Zen Headbutt
set can be changed if needed; I stole this from normal LC lol

Requesting a Webs offense Water team with Araquanid:
Araquanid @ Focus Sash
Ability: Water Bubble
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Scald

Water finally got a reliable and better sticky web user in Araquanid allowing water teams to have access to one more team archetype called as sticky web offense. I'd really like to see an offensive water team utilising webs support that Araquanid offers. Thank you in advance!
