MEGAMONS
Mega-mons is an unique metagame for three reasons. The first one is that it does not change the mechanics of any moves, items, abilities or how any pokemon get those. The second is that it is based off of the Ubers metagame, and not the OU one. The third major difference is that it allows mega evolutionas to be used without their mega stones, and for multiple mega evolutions to be used on the same team.
RULES:
- You can use multiple mega evolutions.
- You can use mega evolutions without megastones
- Mewtwo-Mega X, Mewtwo-Mega Y, and Gengar-Mega are banned. - The Mewtwos' stats were good enough that there was no reason not to run them, and Gengar - Mega's mere presence on a team was enough to force you to pick all your moves based on it.
- Moody is banned
- Standard Ubers clauses.
- Mega Lucario, Mega Blaziken and Arceus are suspect, Mega Lucario due to the sheer amount of power and versatility it brings to the table, Blaziken because of speed boost letting it get past almost any revenge killer, and it's insane attack getting it past any wall, and Arceus due to the fact that it has base 120/all stats, the ability to become any type and an insanely wide movepool.
POTENTIAL SETS:
Pinsir - Mega @ Choice Band
Adamant Nature
Trait: Aerilate
Evs: 4 Hp / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- Quick Attack
- Thrash / Return
- Close Combat
- Earthquake / Thrash / Return
Pinsir is a major threat in this metagame, due to the sheer power of it's stabs. The damage output of it is wonderful, allowing it to 2hko such bulky pokemon as fully physically invested groudon, while still maintaining quite a bit of speed. Thrash is it's strongest move, but as it keeps Pinsir from switching, return is a viable option over it. Earthquake is slashed in with it's stab moves in case of if you want to run two stabs. Quick attack is necessary as it allows you to kill the many fighting type threats of the tier with a strong priority move.
(I have more threat ideas, but I want to leave it up to the community to post them, so that I don't limit people's ideas by imposing mine on them. I will post other peoples' sets here, though.)
So go out, and have fun with mega-evolutions.
(ps: I know about the micrometa, I came up with this idea before I saw the thread, but I think a full scaled metagame would be a lot different than that, and would also get quite a bit more attention.)
