Moves
=========

Crunch hits Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Kadabra and Haunter, which Zweilous walls, and is also Zweilous's most reliable STAB move, as it has the highest accuracy. Dragon Tail allows Zweilous to phaze the foe, which is especially useful against setup sweepers, and racks up damage together with entry hazards. Roar can be used over Dragon Tail if Dragon Tail's low accuracy is unappealing to you or if you want to be able to phaze Fairy-types. However, the extra damage Dragon Tail does to the foe is quite significant, as it makes it easier to wear down the opponent's team. Zweilous is affected by all entry hazards and status and has no passive recovery, so Rest is used so that Zweilous is not worn down too quickly. Sleep Talk makes Zweilous not a sitting duck after it has used Rest and also helps against some Sleep Powder users, most notably Roselia and Jumpluff. Thunder Wave is an option over Sleep Talk, as it cripples faster Pokemon such as Simipour, Rain Dance Poliwrath, and Mightyena. However, Thunder Wave should only be considered if Zweilous has a cleric such as Togetic or Lickilicky as teammate. Toxic is another option over Sleep Talk, as it cripples Pokemon that tend to switch into Zweilous, such as Piloswine, Avalugg, and Carracosta.

Set Details
=========

The given EV spread and Careful nature optimize Zweilous's special bulk while allowing it to outspeed defensive Poliwrath, which means Zweilous can phaze Poliwrath before it can hit Zweilous with Circle Throw. An Adamant nature is an option to get slightly more damage off on Pokemon that switch in. Eviolite grants a boost to both of Zweilous's defenses. Hustle is the only ability Zweilous can use, which makes it somewhat unreliable by making all of Zweilous's attacks inaccurate. However, the boost in power results in Zweilous hitting surprisingly hard for a wall.

Usage Tips:
==========

Zweilous can switch in against various Pokemon, especially Fire-, Psychic-, Ghost-, and Electric-types such as Ninetales, Calm Mind Duosion, stallbreaker Haunter, and Zebstrika, and rack up entry hazard damage by phazing the or simply defeat them with Crunch. Use Dragon Tail together with entry hazards from Pokemon such as Carracosta and Roselia to slowly wear the opponent's team down. Dragon Tail is a nice move to spam to wear down the opponent's team, especially early-game. Watch out for moves that remove Zweilous's Eviolite, most notably Trick from Choice Scarf Haunter, which tends to switch into Zweilous against which Zweilous tends to be switched in, but also Knock Off. However, Zweilous shouldn't be trying to take on most Pokemon that carry Knock Off and Trick. Do not hesitate to use Rest when Zweilous's health is low, as between the lack of passive recovery and having to take Volt Switches from Zebstrika, Zweilous's health might drop faster than you would like. It's not that hard for the opponent to remove entry hazards when Zweilous is on the field, so use Ghost-types such as Misdreavus to prevent the opponent from using Rapid Spin.

Team Options
==========

Entry hazard users are great teammates for Zweilous, as they wear down the opponent's team very fast together with Dragon Tail. The Carracosta + Roselia core works very well together with Zweilous because Zweilous covers their weakness to Ninetales and also takes on Jumpluff decently well. Togetic and Lickilicky offer Wish and Heal Bell support for Zweilous so that it doesn't have to rely on Rest too much. If using Thunder Wave or Toxic, Heal Bell is also very useful to wake Zweilous up after it has used Rest. Fairy-types such as Clefairy and Mr. Mime easily take Zweilous out with their STAB moves so Pokemon that can take them on, such as Probopass and Roselia, are good teammates. Ice-types such as Avalugg, Piloswine, and Aurorus also defeat Zweilous with ease, so Pokemon such as Poliwrath and Grumpig are good teammates to cover that weakness. Ghost-types such as Misdreavus and Dusclops prevent entry hazard removal via Rapid Spin and have decent type synergy with Zweilous, as they are immune to Fighting and Zweilous covers their Ghost and Dark weaknesses. Other defensive Pokemon such as Duosion, Carracosta, Poliwrath, and Tangela appreciate Zweilous taking on special attackers with its many resistances and special bulk. Zweilous fits best into stall and balanced teams, as its unique typing allows it to check Pokemon such as Ninetales and Beheeyem, which could otherwise break through their defensive cores.

I dont see a merit at all regarding roar, phasing is mostly used to screw over dark type resists/bulky pokes, and does good damage (about 25% to poli) along with hazard damage which prevent them switching in while supporting team mates which need these pokes weakened. Thunder wave should also get a slash in moves (on sleep tal) as since this metagame is becoming more offensive, thunder wave is becoming more useful and most toxic targets hate coming in on dragon tail + hazards (toxic should still get a mention).

You should mention an adamant nature in set details as it can be nice in getting slightly more damage off on switches as it often forces out more than it takes

GrimoireGod looks good so far i will check it through when its done

Roar is nice because Dragon Tail has 72% accuracy, which is incredibly unreliable. Especially when you really want to prevent something from setting up on Zweilous Dragon Tail's shaky accuracy can screw you over. It also still annoys Dark resists despite the lack of BP if coupled with entry hazard setters, such as the Carracosta + Roselia where Zweilous fits well on. Dragon Tail is better but Roar should at least be in moves imo.

Thunder Wave is cool yeah. My problem with it is that most of the Pokemon that tend to switch into Zweilous don't care about Thunder Wave at all (Piloswine, Avalugg, defensive Costa, Torterra, Machoke, Golem, etc) so its use is limited. Meanwhile, Toxic cripples Poliwrath better than Thunder Wave, all the Pokemon mentioned a sentence ago except for Machoke, and allows Zweilous to outstall Pokemon with recovery more easily. Thunder Wave is good though, I just think Toxic is at least just as good.

I agree toxic and thunder wave both have their merits so both deserve a mention, i just felt twave is decent enough for a slash (i dont mind before/after toxic). My main issue (well reason to run twave) is with toxic is that most of the targets are hit worse on switch in by a dragon tail. I am still not too keen on roar, as assuming you have lots of hazards, bulky zwei is still huge defog/spin bait (esp if with the unpredictability of phasing), which means poli has no issue in coming in (even with rocks it doesnt care). I feel the power makes up for the low accuracy and i find it difficult to see a situation where the accuracy would matter as i doubt many things are going to set up on something that has a strong phazing move. Moves for roar is alright, but there is just so much more of a benefit in using dragon tail than there is using roar.

Mention Dragon Tail is extremely useful against setup sweepers too.
Mention that Roar also lets Zweilous phaze out Fairy-types, which usually find themselves switching on Zwei.

Usage Tips
==========
Mention that Dragon Tail should be spammed early game and why.(ie: wear down foes and rack up as much residual damage as possible)

Team Options
==========
Mention on what playstyles Zweilous fits in best.
Mention Pokemon with a good typing synergy that make use of Zweilous's ability of checking strong special attackers.

Mention that the main attraction to crunch is because its zweis most reliable stab (well most spammable). Im not sure if there is a point in mentioning watch out for trick in UT, as the main users (mime and rotom) force it out anyway. The last line in UT doesnt really add anything as even if dtail hits the opp will still spin. In team options mention something to take on ice types

The main reason why Trick is mentioned is because Zweilous is a good stallbreaker Haunter switch in, and Choice Scarf sets can thus screw it over with Trick. I added a little bit about Zweilous having no business staying in against most Trick users anyway.

This is witten and ready for the last check. :toast:
