Love the bow-tie. Rowlet is looking to be the very first grass-type starter to get "first pick" on my initial playthrough of a pokemon game. I usually pick the water starter, but Popplio is going to be hard pressed to make its case against that fashionable owl. First starter that begins as a dual-type since Bulbasaur, too; that's a change of pace.
While their regular abilities are a forgone conclusion, their hidden abilities are a point of interest. All three of the generation 6 starters got hidden abilities that were newly introduced in this generation, two of which were exclusive to those evolutionary lines. I'm going to bet that this trend will continue, with hidden abilities for starters being completely new and shared with few, if any, other pokemon. The quality of those HA's remains to be seen, and even a good one isn't guaranteed to salvage a mediocre pokemon (which starters are pretty much by definition), but it does bode fairly well for these guys having a shot at LC relevancy once their hidden abilities are released.
