I also think it's worth noting in the usage tips that if you are carrying a Pursuit user and if your opponent's team has a Spin blocker such as Aegislash or one of the Grass / Ghosts, then it's good to double switch with Starmie on Pokemon that it can force out (like say, Keldeo) and then switch in your Pursuit user accordingly to trap and kill the enemy spin blocker that's expecting to block the rapid spin.
Definitely agree that Pursuit Bisharp is one of the best partners for Starmie, but just a nitpick: LO Analytic Hydro Pump does ~53% minimum to 252 HP Aegislash, so you are better off leaving Starmie in to attack as Aegislash comes in, and then go to Bisharp, as Aegislash uses Shadow Sneak / King's Shield / Shadow Ball, ensuring that Bisharp will manage to eliminate it, even if you pursuit it in Shield Forme.

Also, definitely agree with removing the defensive set, just give it a mention in OO. Do those, and i will approve.

I suppose moving 28 EVs over is a possibility that can be mentioned in Set Details, but it's so superfluous that you might as well tie with other Starmie.

This set is more suited to defensive teams that rely need a reliable Rapid Spinner.
Really*

I also find it odd that you left out Rest in your bulky set. Rest + Natural Cure is a perfect way for Starmie to get rid of status and heal off damage. You should definitely mention that in the OP.

charizard hates hazards too and is a powerful sweeper ^_^

also conkeldurr isnt really a powerful force in the meta anymore.

I'd like to see Thunderbolt slashed next to Ice Beam as well, not just Psyshock, like this:

Offensive Spinner
########
name: Offensive Spinner
move 1: Hydro Pump / Surf
move 2: Ice Beam / Thunderbolt
move 3: Psyshock / Thunderbolt
move 4: Rapid Spin
ability: Analytic
item: Life Orb
nature: Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

The reason for this is that Water STAB + Thunderbolt + Psyshock is a completely viable set, although the current slashing does not imply this. Although you lose out on Garchomp OHKO + Lati coverage, you gain the ability to better check Mega Charizard Y, Manaphy, Azumarrill, Skarmory, and Gyarados, and prevent Greninja from freely switching in. Although this can be achieved with Water STAB + BoltBeam, Psyshock is sometimes preferred over Ice Beam due to its obvious benefits against special walls, as well as nailing Conkeldurr and Mega Venusaur. The slashing above better communicates this to the reader, and gets across the point that Starmie's other two attacking moves are flexible and interchangeable depending on the team's needs.

This needs some love

1) Surf needs to go, that is wimp shit. Surf/Scald in OO is fine, I think most readers know that they can run these two over Pump but Pump is the most valued here because Starmie needs the power, and it gets that ~60% hit on max hp aegis which lets it hit it, switch out, then hit again with pump to finish the job

2) set details needs beefing and extra moves moved to moves. Set Details should detail ability, Evs, and nature and thats about it. Throw comments about alternative moves and such into the moves section, and then expand on the set details by giving a brief reason why Timid and Analytic are necessary

3) usage tips need a bit of beefing. There's team options stuff and not much here.

4) team options need some explanation. "starmie is popular on volt turn" well why is that? Are there any more good partners or mons that fit on the typical team starmie sits on?

5) OO lacks some stuff. Trick Specs starmie is alright, I believe it gets the 2HKO on Aegis with Pump and Tricks chansey, Blah, Blah, decent set. Grass Knot and Thunder Wave are cute moves. Psychic can be run over Psyshock because most ROtom-W and Venusaur are Phys Def to take on Azu, MAwile, Talons, Pinsir, etc. Reflect type also beats Bisharp.

6) Checks and Counters need to be changed into the proper format e.g.

**Chansey**: Chansey takes 3 damage from +6 Specs Hydro Pump so it counters Starmie

7) Since NAtural Cure and BOlt arent in the set as primary options update the overview as such pls

Do this and ill bother 3 QC members to stamp this to full approval.

Removed Surf.

Updated Set Details explaining Timid nature and Analytic.

With Usage tips there isn't really too much to say. Spin when you have to, and spam Hydro Pump 95% of the time.

Explained why it's good on Volt turn.

Added Specs Starmie and Thunder Wave to OO. I'm a bit skeptical on Grass Knot. Why would you ever use it?

Changed the Checks and Counters format.

Updated Overview.

no good reason for GK, it can hit some water types harder but it doesnt matter if it is there or not.

Wait, wait, im an idiot I already stamped this before sry.

Even though it no longer has a set dedicated to itself, it could be worth mentioning a bulky rapid spin set in the OO. Other than that, this looks good.

Overview
########

With the new
Generation and multiple changes to our Metagame, Starmie isn't as effective as it once used to be. Defog is often the more preferred method of removing hazards, and Excadrill is the prime OU offensive Rapid Spinner, leaving little room for Starmie to flourish. However, it still has great base 115 speed and amazing coverage, allowing Starmie to still be a threat, and it has access to a great ability in Analytic. However, Starmie's typing leaves it vulnerable to common attacks such as Pursuit, U-turn, and Volt Switch. Play to Starmie's good points however, and it can be a great asset to your team.

Offensive Spinner
########
name: Offensive Spinner
move 1: Hydro Pump
move 2: Ice Beam
move 3: Psyshock / Thunderbolt
move 4: Rapid Spin
ability: Analytic
item: Life Orb
nature: Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Moves
========

This set plays to Starmie's natural offensive capabilities. Analytic is the ability of choice for it's incredible power boost on the switch. Hydro Pump is STAB and hits stupidly hard on the switch, thanks to the boost Analytic provides and it's awesome base power. Ice Beam provides nice coverage for Grass- (Add hyphen) and Dragon-types (Add hyphen). Psychock Psyshock is the main option for Starmie as it's STAB and hits Mega-Venusaur and Chansey for nice damage. Psyshock has a slim chance to OHKO Conkeldurr, which is a big threat in the metagame right now. Thunderbolt however offers more coverage, which allows Starmie to hit Water-types, (Add hyphen) and creates the infamous "Bolt-beam" coverage. Finally, Rapid Spin is used as it supports the team by removing hazards.

Set Details
========

The EVs are used for maximum power and Speed. Surf can be used for more consistency, but overall Hydro Pump is generally better. You might think an all out attacking set could be useful, but Starmie is mainly used for it's (Remove apostrophe) ability to Rapid Spin. Recover can also be an option, but Starmie really needs to coverage in order to be threatening. Analytic is the preferred ability, because of the power boost it provides on the switch, allowing Starmie to 2HKO nearly everything in the tier with the right coverage move. Timid is a must, since Starmie is all about Speed, and being out speed sped by Keldeo, Terrakion, Latios, and other top threats just isn't worth it.

Usage Tips
========

This set is more suited to offensive teams that rely on Volt-turn or a late game sweeper that's weak to entry hazards (Talonflame, Volcarona, Dragonite, etc), so pairing it up with (Add a space) said Pokemon is a good idea. Starmie's main role of the game is to generally Rapid Spin, so make they that your first priority over hitting something hard on the switch. If the removal of hazards isn't the number one priority, then generally spamming Hydro Pump is a good idea.

Team Options
========

As already stated, the best partners for Starmie are powerful sweepers that are weak to entry hazards, making Volcarona, Dragonite, and Talonflame your best options. Starmie is also pretty popular on Volt-turn (Add hyphen) teams for it's ability to effectively remove hazards, so good partners include Scizor. Scizor can beat all of Starmie's checks (Tyranitar, Blissey, etc), while Starmie can easily beat Scizor's checks (Heatran, Skarmory, etc).

Other Options
========

A full out attacker set can be considered, as it gives you incredible coverage, but the main reason to use Starmie it's is for it's (Remove apostrophe) ability to Rapid Spin. Choice Specs Starmie with Trick is a pretty fun set to try out, as it can cripple Chansey and Ferrothorn very nicely with a well timed Trick. The power output (Take away the space) is also solid. Starmie generally prefers the ability to switch moves however. Starmie can potentially run a Reflect type set, as it beats most of Starmie's checks, like Ferrothorn and Tyranitar, but it's kinda a little gimmicky, and Starmie doesn't have much room to run it. Hidden Power Fire is a coverage option that can be considered for it's (Remove apostrophe) ability to hit Ferrothorn and Scizor for solid damage, but outside of that there's little use for it. Thunder Wave is a neat option to use on Starmie to cripple fast Pokemon like Keldeo and Latias.

Checks and Counters
========

**Pursuit Trappers**: Pursuit trappers can eliminate Starmie from the game take out Starmie altogether. Tyranitar, Weavile, Bisharp, and Scizor all make for good Pursuit users.

**Special Walls**: Blissey, Chansey, and other special walls can tank anything Starme throws at them, but they can't stop Starmie from Rapid Spinning. (Worth mentioning that both Blissey and Chansey are hit by Psyshock pretty well)

**Ghost types**: Ghost types stop Starmie from Spinning, so Gourgiest, Trevenent, and Aegislash can all be considered checks, and they also can hit Starmie for solid damage with their respective STAB attacks.

**Bulky Grass types**: Bulky Grass types can usually take on Starmie easily. Mega-Venusaur (Add hyphen) and Amoonguss can easily stand up to Starmie if it isn't running Psyshock, while Celebi and Ferrothorn counter it regardless.

Overall very nice, just be careful with your capital letters and apostrophes. Please don't implement this until it is stamped by a proper GP member (Jukain Jellicent Fuzznip
Electrolyte
blitzlefan ).

EDIT: disregard the first hide, I tried to edit it out but it's glitching and refuses to be taken out lol

In other options, could you mention that an all-out attacker set is largely outdone by Greninja, which has better speed, better special attack and STAB on all moves to make up for not having analytic? It can also change its type to suit itself defensively (though this is a little gimmicky), so the only reason I can see to use Starmie over Greninja is for the Rapid Spin.
