[OVERVIEW]

Simisage is an odd wallbreaker due to its mediocre STAB but powerful and near-perfect coverage options. Combine this great coverage with Simisage's great Speed and an excellent mixed wallbreaker is born. However, Simisage's choice between weak or unreliable STAB options mixed with the fact that some walls like Bronzor wall Simisage regardless means that Simisage's performance can sometimes come up short.

[SET COMMENTS]
Leaf Storm is the preferred STAB option as it is extremely powerful even without much EV investment, but Giga Drain is also an option if you want a more spammable STAB option that also heals at the cost of almost half of its damage. Superpower is the first coverage option and hits Steel-types like Klang super-effectively while also hitting specially-defensive walls like Audino, Scraggy, and Zweilous for more than Leaf Storm can. Acrobatics is for hitting Grass-types like Vileplume that resist the other two moves, and get an additional bonus from Flying Gem. The last move is filler, as the other three moves achieve near-perfect coverage, but Taunt is good for shutting down walls from their healing and status moves.

Simisage is excellent for breaking through walls like Zweilous and Vileplume, so sweepers like Swanna or Shiftry love having Simisage around. Simisage does have problems breaking through Bronzor and therefore invites it in a lot, so partners like Scraggy or Monferno who can deal with Bronzor also make for good choices. Simiage also invites in a lot of Fire- and Flying-types e to its weaknesses, so Pokemon like Frillish, Stunfisk, or Klang make for great teammates for being good options for Simisage to pivot to. Klang in particular is a good partner as it also provides a slow Volt Switch to safely bring in Simisage.
