[OVERVIEW]
- It's great typing allows Silvally-Steel to take on a variety of common threats such as Sneasel, Venusaur, Whimsicott, Vanilluxe, Klinklang, Vivillon, and many more.
- Above average base stats allow Silvally-Steel to shine as a support Pokemon.
- Very bulky and effective user of Defog.
- It has no reliable recovery besides Rest.
- Loses to common Stealth Rock users, particularly Ground-types such as Piloswine, Rhydon, Steelix, and Palossand one vs. one.
- Lack of offensive pressure can invite setup sweepers like Scarfty to go to work.
- While it's Steel-typing is good it also brings common weaknesses to Fire-, Ground-, and Fighting-types.

Moves
========
- Defog can clear entry hazards from the field.
- Flamethrower allows Silvally-Steel to hit Steel- and Grass-types such as Steelix, Klinklang, Ferroseed, Sceptile, and many more for super effective damage. In addition to that it also hits Electric-types like Vikavolt and Heliolisk, something STAB fails to do as well. It is the most useful single attacking move one can run.
- Parting Shot allows Silvally-Steel to maintain momentum and bring in big threats while lowering the target's offensive stats.
- Toxic enables Silvally-Steel to punish Fire- and Ground-types on the switch and puts setup sweepers as well as defensive benemoths on a timer.
- Iron Head grants Silvally-Steel a STAB attack that hits harder than Flamethrower and can hit Ice-, Rock-, and Fairy-types for more damage. If Iron Head is chosen, a Sassy nature is preferred. Flash Cannon serves the same purpose, however, it usually does less damage to its intended targets such as Sneasel, Vanilluxe and Audino-Mega.
Set Details
========
- Near maximum investment in both HP and Special Defense makes Silvally-Steel as bulky as possible. 248 HP EV's are used to take 1 less point of damage from entry hazards.
- Steel Memory is the only item Silvally-Steel can use and cannot be knocked off or tricked away.
- RKS System is the only ability Silvally gets and changes it's typing to match it's held Memory.
Usage Tips
========
- Switch Silvally-Steel into the Pokemon it checks, such as Sneasel, Whimsicott, Vanilluxe, Klinklang, Garbador etc. and use the moves Defog, Toxic, Parting Shot to improve the game state.
- Use Parting Shot most of the time to get out of the unfavorable matchups Silvally-Steel baits in such as Medicham and Toxicroak and bring in your countermeasures.
- Exercise caution with using Defog if the opposing team has Pokemon like Malamar and Braviary, since they can take advantage of this due to Contrary and Defiant, respectively.
========
- Silvally-Steel is primarily used on bulky offense, as it offers good temporary Defog support for hazards of all kind and is a great glue Pokemon as it is able to check many threats while keeping up momentum via Parting Shot.
- Wish user such as Delphox or Vaporeon grant Silvally-Steel some type of recovery. Delphox in particular adores the removal as well as the check to diancie and non-offensive gigalith Silvally-Steel provides.
- Strong attacker appreciate Silvally-Steel's ability to bring them in safely via Parting Shot. Vanilluxe, Medicham and Heliolisk are some popular examples but the possibilities are endless.
- While Silvally-Steel's great typing covers a wide variety of Pokemon, it is weak to Fire, Ground, and Fighting. Pokemon such as Slowbro, Delphox, and Venusaur, who resist those typings make for good partners. Taunt Golbat is a particularly good partner as in addition to being immune to Ground-attacks and quadruple resisting Fighting-attacks it can also prevent Stealth Rock with a fast Taunt making Silvally-Steel's job easier. Slowbro also gets a special mention for taking on all three types Silvally-Steel is weak to while appreciating it's ability to deal with special attackers such as non-focus blast heliolisk and vivillon.
- While Silvally-Steel is not the greatest pokemon at removing Stealth Rock immediately due to the fact that it loses to Ground-types in a one vs. one it's ability to remove them at some point and consistantly remove Spikes and Toxic Spikes is greatly appreciated by pokemon without recovery or weak to Spikes or Toxic Spikes.
- Other pivots such as Vikavolt or Passimian can form a momentum core.

Other Options
=============
- Thunder Wave is an option over Toxic, however, it is not able to progress the game state as efficiently and does not hit Ground-types whatsoever.
- Ice Beam is able to hit Xatu and Altaria, although it does not have much use beyond that and Silvally-Steel struggles to find room for it.
- Multi-Attack is an option over Iron Head for a stronger STAB, but it has less PP and no chance to flinch so the added 10 base power is usually not worth the trade off.
Checks and Counters
===================
- Bulky Pokemon who are unaffected by toxic: Xatu, Golbat, Vileplume etc. are able to stop everything Silvally-Steel itself can do and chip at it for free. They have to be careful of Parting Shot into something problematic, however.
- Fire-types: Delphox, Incineroar, Magmortar, Houndoom, Charizard and Typhlosion are able to come in on Silvally-Steel and threaten it out with their respective STAB attack. This is particularly troublesome as some of these Pokemon are very dangerous offensive threats and don't usually get a lot of chances to come in like that in the NU tier. However, Toxic is able to put every single one of these Pokemon on a timer and Stealth Rock + Parting Shot also turns the tides significantly.
- Ground-types: Steelix, Rhydon, Piloswine and Palossand can beat Silvally-Steel in a one vs. one and have access to Stealth Rock. Beware of Toxic (Flamethrower in the case of Steelix).
- Fighting-types: Medicham, Hariyama, Passimian and Hitmonlee are able to force Silvally-Steel out with their respective Fighting-STAB and dont take a lot from non-STAB Flamethrower, although they do take a respectable amount from a Steel-STAB and they also do not appreciate either status move Silvally-Steel can carry.
