Ricochet puts its not-Protean to good use, switching types to deal super effective damage and try to resist oncoming attacks. Did you know that you can only toggle on sendout or while ordering first? Well. I have no idea how Ferre possibly got approved without a listed HP value or how it thought it could hold an item at only 2*, but I suppose that isn't really my problem. Sorgos fails to flinch their opponent, allowing Ferre to sing a haunting song of doom, affecting both mons on the field. After a flaring seed and a failed sneak attack, among other things, Ferre has lost most of its health and can't exactly switch out next round, while Sorgos is looking healthy as ever, if a bit tired from the pressure.

Taking advantage of the approaching doom, Ferre prepares to give Sorgos a look that could quite literally kill, only for the legendary to put up a decoy! Ferre changes tactics and slashes at the decoy with as much strength as possible, only for Sorgos to take advantage of this to put up a protective barrier and then practice its flute music. Ricochet comes in to finish off Crates, but a very strangely chosen sub lets the deer get in one last attack before falling. Seriously, using Protect rather than Agility would have left this a complete nonissue. As it is, the last-ditch combo manages to score a critical hit, leaving Ricochet starting to show his battle scars. On the other hand, never underestimate a type changer who orders second.

So Sorgos' famed Serene Grace Air Slash managed to fail at flinching Ferre both times it was used. Lovely. Now I have to beat Ricochet ordering first next round or else I get a double KO at best. At least a misworded substitution on Toon's part lets Sorgos take a breather and prepare for the upcoming fight.
