SPOILERS! Pokemon Legends: Arceus *Leak Thread*

ok so what im finding cool is that it seems like many of the Wardens aren't type specialists. Ingo's first fight has him using Machoke, Tangela and Gliscor even though he's Sneasler's Warden while the one Bertha/Agatha combined ancestor has Gengar and Rhydon
Is there any Trainer data available?

So how does Basculin/Basculegion work exactly?

Because what I've gotten from trying to read this thread is standard Red-Stripe is male only now? And Blue-Stripe doesn't exist in PAL, just a female only White-Stripe?

Yeah Basculin is just the single form, and then Basculegion forms are based on gender

That's bizarre. How is that going to work going forward? Are all female Red-Stripe Basculin going to change form and ability in gen 9 on? Or SwSh if they decide to add these new Pokemon/forms to it?

No, the basculin in legends is a regional variant. Unovan Basculin will still be unable to evolve.

The Basculin in this game is Hisuian, and is specifically referred to as "White-Stripe" I believe, so regular Red/Blue Basculin will be unevolving, while the White Hisuian one will be able to become Basculegion.

Does someone have the render of the male Hisuian Basculin then? Because I never really got a good look at it and I wanna see how/if it differs from a normal Red-Stripe.

Really excited for Ursaluna. Normal/Ground typing gives it two key immunities in Ghost and Electric, and a nearly unresisted STAB combo.

130/140/105/45/80/50 is an awesome stat distribution, making it incredibly bulky and powerful. Additionally, it’s got two amazing abilities: Guts for more offensive sets / status sponge, and Bulletproof to make it even harder to kill, providing immunities from Aura Sphere / Focus Blast, and also the more niche Seed Bomb / Bullet Seed. (Sidenote: Gengar is CRYING)

Already I’m thinking of Guts Wallbreaker and Assault Vest as potential popular sets. With Guts, the only thing that can tank a hit are the Steel Birds, and that’s assuming it doesn’t get coverage moves to hit them neutrally. Here are some stats I ran on popular physical walls / pivots, using only Facade+Earthquake as moves:

-1 252+ Atk Guts Ursaring Facade (140 BP) vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Landorus-Therian: 222-262 (58.1 - 68.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ Atk Guts Ursaring Facade (140 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 268-316 (68 - 80.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Guts Ursaring Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 306-360 (100.6 - 118.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Guts Ursaring Facade (140 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 211-250 (69.4 - 82.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Guts Ursaring Facade (140 BP) vs. 248 HP / 168+ Def Corviknight: 148-175 (37 - 43.8%) -- 99.9% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Assuming its movepool is similar to Ursaring, Payback might be a great option for coverage (CC as well, but being slow and having your defenses drop…)

I’m not sure yet what the best spreads on AV sets could be, but some preliminary scouting sees it tanking hits from Lele, Pult, Zapdos (is immune to two of its moves) Heatran, etc and either OHKOing or doing massive damage back (assuming it gets payback).

what are y’all’s first impressions?

In conclusion-
I like the direction this is going in. It seems like all of these nerfs are in an effort to make the tiers not be as filled with legendary pokemon because normal pokemon will have a harder time killing them (causing bans and such). If this doesn't happen, oh well, none of our Pokemon have the same kill power they used too. I'm also interested to see how many off these moves get reworked (like stealth rocks).

If these changes are PLA specific and don't make a return, that's cool too, but I would kind of miss it considering ices new buffed weather would be much easier to deal with if pokemon can take more hits.

So both the officially revealed Basculegion and the second leaked one evolve from this one? Why make the male(?) look like it evolves from normal Basculin then?
The going theory I’ve seen is because Basculegion is based on sockeye salmon. Male sockeyes turn bright red during mating season, while females remain a more pale color.

BTW is Enamorous gendered like the other genies?
A character in the text files refers to it as a she, so yeah, seems like it

You do realize that GF never ever buffed or nerfed based on smogon, they never cared if VGC is filled of legendaries, and these changes like Let's Go's are unique to Legend Arceus?
