Passing a sub onto toxic spikes

Hi everyone,

I just played a game where I baton passed a sub to a regigigas, and it got poisoned by 2 layers of toxic spikes. According to the substitute page on smogon, "Baton Passing a Substitute prevents Toxic Spikes from Poisoning the recipient." Is this a bug?

I'll dig up the research thread or test on cart again tonight. For some reason I thought this wasn't the case, which is the only reason I wouldn't just say "bug" and be done.
