Throat Chop

:ss/zoroark:
Zoroark @ Life Orb
Ability: Illusion
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Throat Chop
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch

This set is built around the idea that no one but confide and I are running moonblast Sylveon. Disregard the whole Illusion thing, and look at this from the perspective of Zoroark as a stand alone Pokémon. You SD on a Bronzong, as they switch in their Sylveon to beat you. You then Throat Chop them and SD again on the wish. This set allows you to break through Hyper Voice Sylv, and potentially sweep their entire team. Really fun set, but make sure to scout what the Sylv is running first lol.

+3 252 Atk Life Orb Zoroark Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Sylveon: 208-246 (52.7 - 62.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+3 252 Atk Life Orb Zoroark Throat Chop vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Sylveon: 172-203 (43.6 - 51.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

These calcs show that after the initial Throat Chop, Knock into TC always kills at +3 which if they’re HVoice you will be able to do.

Congratulations to your____bro for winning the Tornadus Cycle with RestoChesto :chesto_berry:

Cycle 13 - Illusion...
:ss/zoroark:
I know you sacked your Sigilyph to a Toxicroak (Zoroark xD) on ladder and forfeited afterwards but I won't snitch!!! With access to a few sets on both its physical and special side, Zoroark has been chosen for this week! Maybe...just maybe you won't be fooled in the future if you submit a set this week ;o. Submissions for Zoroark will end on Friday, January 1st. Have fun!
None!

nasty plot + 2 attacks + u-turn

:bw/zoroark:
Zoroark @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Illusion
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

- Dark Pulse
- Sludge Bomb
- Nasty Plot
- U-turn

Zoroark with U-turn is there to chip down and switch out of unfavorable matchups so it can deal damage and swap to an appropiate teampartner.
Nasty Plot boosts Zoroarks already very good SpAtt to a high amount and therefore Zoroark can dish out a lot of damage to anything which doesnt resists the STAB in dark Pulse and the Coverage in Sludge Bomb. Sludge Bomb is for Fairy-type Pokemon such as Sylveon are targets. Dark Pulse hits most of the tier for neutral or even super effective damage and is therefore a really good STAB.
However, it doesnt like Bug-type Pokemon and Fairy-type such as Comfey, so pairing this Pokemon up with appropiate teammates are essential.

The main issue with Zoroark is that people often know which mon is the Zoroark when Zoroark took some damage from hazards (Stealth Rock or Spikes). With Heavy-Duty Boots you prevent that hazards will show that you're actually a zoroark. This way you might be able to get a free Swords Dance off while they think you're a Fire or Flying type with Heavy-Duty Boots equipped.

Zoroark @ Choice Band
Ability: Illusion
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Trick
- Toxic

U-Turn and Knock Off are Zoroark's only attacks and rather than slapping something worthless like Mega Kick or Fury Swipes, I added Trick and Toxic to catch Pokemon that otherwise walls Knock Off of course. Trick is nice for catching defensive Pokemon like Sylveon or Aromatisse with Toxic helps with the same thing.

Encore + Roar
:ss/Zoroark:
Zoroark @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Illusion
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Encore
- Roar
- Knock Off
- U-turn

The idea of this set is to lock a foe into a stat raising move such as Swords Dance. Since the foe will probably switch Pokémon, you could use Knock Off to remove the item of the Pokemon switching in. Here is why Roar is on this set. If your opponent has the nerves to stay in after you use Encore to make them use a stat raising move for a few turns, Roar will force the Pokemon out, losing its stat boosts. To make Roar more fun to use, you should setup entry hazards such as Spikes and Stealth Rock, to make the new Pokémon being forced in from Roar to take chip damage. U-Turn is to get away as long as your opponent isn't faster than you.

Specs Zoroark

Zoroark @ Choice Specs
Ability: Illusion
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- U-turn
- Dark Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Sludge Bomb

General idea
The concept is pretty simple: hit hard with the aid of a Specs.
Dark Pulse is the STAB with a secondary effect that may change the battle; Flamethrower+Sludge Bomb is the combination of moves chosen for coverage. Don't understimate the 20% poison chance because it is game-changing. U-turn is here to keep the momentum.

EVs (spread) and item
The EVs spread is a basic special offensive one with a 252/4/252 split. The Specs gives a huge boost without wasting a turn although it doesn't affect U-turn.
Many calcs:
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Dark Pulse vs. 172 HP / 84 SpD Cofagrigus: 326-386 (108.6 - 128.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Magneton: 246-291 (102 - 120.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO (even if you are locked into this move, you achieve this OHKO)
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Galvantula: 279-328 (99.2 - 116.7%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO (even if you are locked into this move, you almost achieve this OHKO)
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 32 SpD Celebi: 356-422 (88.1 - 104.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Dark Pulse vs. +1 252 HP / 0 SpD Sigilyph: 300-354 (86.2 - 101.7%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Perrserker: 280-330 (99.6 - 117.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock (even if you are locked into this move, you almost achieve this OHKO)
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Jellicent: 356-420 (88.1 - 103.9%) -- 25% chance to OHKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Sludge Bomb vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Sylveon: 168-198 (42.6 - 50.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Sludge Bomb vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Sylveon: 168-198 (42.6 - 50.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock, Leftovers recovery, and poison damage
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Sludge Bomb vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Exeggutor-Alola: 350-414 (88.8 - 105%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Sludge Bomb vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Ludicolo: 278-328 (92.9 - 109.6%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Flamethrower/Sludge Bomb vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Tsareena: 282-334 (98.9 - 117.1%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Flamethrower/Sludge Bomb vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Tangela: 374-442 (111.9 - 132.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Roserade: 266-314 (101.9 - 120.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Decidueye: 278-328 (93.6 - 110.4%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO (even if you are locked into this move, you almost achieve this OHKO)
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Rotom-Frost: 262-310 (108.7 - 128.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Flamethrower vs. 172 HP / 0 SpD Dhelmise: 304-358 (93.8 - 110.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock (and you avoid the Colbur Berry)
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Vileplume: 304-358 (85.8 - 101.1%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Gourgeist-Super: 352-416 (113.1 - 133.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Flamethrower vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Fluffy Bewear: 420-496 (109.9 - 129.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Vanilluxe: 290-342 (102.4 - 120.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Ice Scales Frosmoth: 302-356 (107.4 - 126.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Team(mates) support
Zoroark pais well with special attacker weak to Psychic-type moves because Illusion is an ability that can give you extra turns.
SR support is needed in order to weaken Zoroark's checks and to ensure some KOs and 2HKO through sheer power.

Newly dropped from RU and long awaited, Drapion is one of the new tools we have access to. Its great dual typing and access to supreme utility moves in Taunt, Toxic Spikes, Swords Dance, etc etc makes it a threat and defensive annoyance to be reckoned with.
We are interested in what creative set comes to your mind and how you'd utilize its amazing and wide movepool!
Submissions will end on Friday, January 8th. Have fun!

Swords Dance

:ss/drapion:

Drapion @ Shuca Berry/ Lum Berry/ Life Orb / Electric Seed
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Earthquake / Agility
- Poison Jab

Similar to np skuntank, drapion often want removes items with knock off before starting setup.Decent speed and bulk let him eat a lot of common stuff including scarf mienshao close combat or heavy slam copperajah.
Shuca Berry prevent being revenge killed by eq users who outspeed him or run colbur (:aerodactyl:,:golurk:,:flygon:)
Lum berry tears appart balance who rely on burning him to win.
Life orb add additional power in cost of staying power.
On more offensive teams, agility is an option with electric seed to tank most powerful such as cb pangoro/bewear close combat while outspeeding the whole opponent team.

- Aqua Tail

choice band drapion is a great pokemon with not many pokemon resisting its dual-stab + coverage. choice band maximizes out its breaking potential, especially with knock off spam and poison jab drapion finds itself in a great spot in which not many pokemon do resist its dual-stab. furthermore earthquake can hit pokemon like copperajah, tyrantrum, diancie, and aqua tail hits mudsdale for super effective damage output.
