Necrozma @ Power Herb
Ability: Prism Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 24 Spe
- Expanding Force
- Meteor Beam
- Trick Room
- Protect

Necrozma has shot up in tournament and ladder usage alike thanks to its decimating Expanding Force, which can be powered up by Meteor Beam and Psychic Terrain. Expanding Force makes use of Psychic Terrain to target both opposing Pokemon and receive a boost in damage. Meteor Beam grants Necrozma a Special Attack boost and lets it damage certain switch-ins like Heatran and Incineroar. Trick Room offers a form of speed control to deal with faster Pokemon that normally pose as a threat like Urshifu-R and Dragapult. 24 Speed IVs allow Necrozma to outspeed Incineroar and with Tailwind, Nihilego. Tapu Lele or Indeedee-F is absolutely necessary as a partner for a consistent way of setting up Psychic Terrain, the former being a more offensive option and the latter defensive. Amoonguss works well with Trick Room by getting a fast Spore and appreciates the aforementioned teammates removing Misty Terrain. Heatran helps deal with Steel-type Expanding Force answers like Kartana, Genesect, and Metagross.

Meteor Beam lets Necrozma damage certain switch-ins like Heatran and Incineroar while also giving a boost in Special Attack. - should probably emphasize special attack boosting more, incredibly minor but this point is important to highlight (considering it's a selling point in your lead) and rn it feels more like a sidenote

I think the psychic terrain mons mentions being the way it is rn is fine, first sentence would prob end up being really clunky otherwise; the distinction between offensive and supportive would be hard to fit. Only change i'd mention here is to more strongly word "vital", into something along the lines of absolutely necessary lol

Necrozma has shot up in tournament and ladder usage alike thanks to its decimating Expanding Force, (comma) which that can be powered up by Meteor Beam and Psychic Terrain. Expanding Force is Necrozma's most potent form of STAB that makes use of Psychic Terrain to target both opposing Pokemon and receive a boost in damage. Meteor Beam grants Necrozma a boost in Special Attack boost and lets it damage certain switch-ins like Heatran and Incineroar. Trick Room offers a form of speed control to deal with faster Pokemon that normally pose as a threat like Urshifu-R and Dragapult. 24 Speed IVs allow Necrozma to outspeed Incineroar and with Tailwind, Nihilego. One of Tapu Lele or Indeedee-F are is absolutely necessary as a partner for a consistent way of setting up Psychic Terrain, the former being a more offensive option and the latter defensive. Amoonguss works well in conjunction with Trick Room to get off by getting a fast Spore and appreciates the aforementioned teammates ability to remove removing Misty Terrain. Heatran helps deal with Steel- types Steel-type Expanding Force answers like Kartana, Genesect, and Metagross that resist Necrozma's STAB.

TonyFlygon and Paraplegic's match from Doubles Premier League well captures Necrozma's ability as an offensive threat: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen8doublesou-1301429262
