Honestly i'm not interested in having cool pokeballs like most people are in this community, but a lot of people do. I guess since they are difficult to obtain they are sort of a demonstration of power and prestige. I dunno but some look cool and they are a nice asthetic change. I myself focus more on getting pokemon that have the right IV combinations and EM's, but having a cool looking ball is a nice touch.
