Epilogue 1. The rematch.

Turns out, I don,t need to beat the League again to face Juniper. So, the battle begins again, but now I will use my whole team:

Once again, Juniper leads with Metagross. This time, I lead with Mosqueton. Earthquake doesn,t OHKO and Metagross gets to hit with Meteor Mash.
EQ KOs Metagross on turn 2:

Clefable comes in. I switch Sr. Tuercas in, taking Moonblast.

Juniper withdraws Clefable and sends a new Pokemon, Zoroark. Sr. Tuercas crits with Gear Grind, but Zoroark lives in red.

Not having a Dark resist, I switch Eeveeto into Focus Blast, which drops Eeveeto's Special Defense.
Zoroark misses next Focus Blast and dies to Surf:

Gengar comes in. He crits Eeveeto with Thunderbolt:

From the last battle, I suspect this Gengar is choiced. So, I switch Mosqueton in. Gengar uses Thunderbolt again, confirming my theory and dying to Earthquake:

Clefable is back. So, I switch Sr. Tuercas in again, this time Moonblast is critical.
Clefable lives Gear Grind and paralyzes Sr. Tuercas with Thunder Wave.
Clefable heals with Recover, but its not enough to avoid dying from Gear Grind:

Juniper sends Volcarona. I sack Sr. Tuercas:

I send Amphy. Volcarona uses Quiver Dance and takes Power Gem.
Volcarona kills Amphy with Flamethrower:

I send Mirage. He is murdered by Hurricane:

Fuck, I am about to lose this battle even with 6vs6.
I send Rosellon but switch Mosqueton in right after that. Mosqueton survives Flamethrower in red.
Mosqueton dies, but so does Volcarona due to Life Orb:

I send Rosellon. Juniper's ace turns out to be a level 73 Samurott. Rosellon uses Energy Ball while Samurott loses time with Sword Dance.
Juniper heals Samurott, but its back to red.
Rosellon wins the battle:

This was an almost impossible battle even with 6 Mons vs 6. That's how underleveled I was.

My team is shown on screen as Champions, though not of this Nuzlocke.

Post-credits scene:

Genesect revives and flies away.

When I load the game again, I am at my house in Humilau City. When I leave it, Bianca calls:

I fly to Nuvema Town and visit the lab.

So, I fly to Opelucid City and go to the Shopping Mall. Inside I encounter Rood:

I also see Cheren:

Cheren goes away. I then check what I can buy here. The catalog includes many competitive items and evolutionary ones. Not interested.

I fly to Driftveil City and visit Rood's shelter. Rood has teleported there:

Hugh leads with Unfezant. It uses Swagger on Sr. Tuercas, who hits itself.
Unfezant uses Giga Impact. Sr. Tuercas hits itself again.
Unfezant recharges and Sr. Tuercas hits itself again.
Unfezant kills Sr. Tuercas:

Amphy gets a free Thunderbolt, killing Unfezant:

Hugh sends Bouffalant. He chokes and uses Earthquake vs Air Balloon Amphy. Free Thunderbolt.
Free Thunderbolt. Bouffalant is paralyzed.
Another free Thunderbolt, Bouffalant continues using EQ.
Amphy finishes Bouffalant:

Next is Flygon. It also uses EQ. Amphy confuses it with Signal Beam.
Free Signal Beam.

Free Signal Beam, Flygon dead:

Eelektross is next. Here I send Mosqueton into Flamethrower, getting burned.
Ignoring the burn, Mosqueton crits Eelektross:

Hugh sends Liepard. Mosqueton uses EQ and takes Play Rough.
Mosqueton finishes Liepard:

Last is Emboar. It resists EQ and kills Mosqueton with Hammer Arm:

Mirage finishes the battle with Psycho Cut:

Unlike Juniper's battle, this one was easy, I could have won it without losing Mons if I was worried about that.

Ok, whatever. I fly to Pokemon League and from there go to N's Castle. There, I expect to find Genesect, but find N himself:

Normal trainer music dissapoints me. Funnily enough, N leads with Klinklang, just like I do. His Klinklang floats on Air Balloon though.
N's Klinklang misses Gear Grind. Sr. Tuercas breaks the Balloon with Return.

I switch Mosqueton into Wild Charge.
Mosqueton kills Klinklang with EQ:

N sends Archeops. I switch Eeveeto into Dragon Claw.
Archeops crits with Stone Edge, killing Eeveeto:

I send Amphy. He lives Stone Edge and kills Archeops with Thunderbolt:

Next is Vanilluxe. Sr. Tuercas gets into Blizzard, getting frozen.
Vanilluxe uses Hail for free.
Vanilluxe uses Blizzard.
Vanilluxe uses Blizzard.
Vanilluxe finishes Sr. Tuercas:

I switch Mirage in, getting Hail damage. Mirage uses Drain Punch and is hit by Blizzard.
Mirage finishes Vanilluxe:

Oh no, another Volcarona comes. It uses Overheat, killing Mirage:

Hail continues to fall, that Vanilluxe had Ice Rock. I switch Mosqueton in. He uses EQ while Volcarona boosts with Quiver Dance, living with like 1 HP. Hail conveniently stops now.
Instead of attacking, Volcarona boosts again and dies from EQ:

N's ace is Zoroark. It tries to hax with Confuse Ray, but Mosqueton attacks it and kills with EQ:

Last is Carracosta. Mosqueton damages himself and takes Waterfall.
Mosqueton heals confusion and OHKOs the turtle, finishing this battle:

This battle was actually hard. It was pretty much impossible to avoid a kill from Archeops and Volcarona is another very dangerous Mon. Even with a maximum effort to prevent kills, I would have probably lost 1 Mon or 2 in this battle.

N teleports away. I finish this chapter too, its becoming too long.

Epilogue 2. In search of the Champions.

I fly to Icirrus City. I explore the Ice cave first but don,t find the entrance to Twist Mountain there.
Then I check the actual city, and find the entrance:

I explore the place and find a house where I can heal my team.

A worker with a Sigilyph attacks me, but Sr. Tuercas beats him.
Hiker with Golurk and Mamoswine is next. Eeveeto OHKOs both.
The next worker should be a Gym Leader, his AI was better that most of them. Sr. Tuercas easily defeats his Mawile, but then Steelix appears. I send Amphy, expecting to abuse Air Balloon. However, after one failed Dig, Steelix uses Sandstorm and then Double Edge. Eeveeo kills Steelix but then dies to Gigalith's Explosion. The battle ends there.
Veteran's Archeops and Bouffalant are beaten by Sr. Tuercas, then Rosellon comes to kill Jellicent.

Nurse's Clefable falls to Sr. Tuercas. I get another healing spot.
Another Worker with Vanilluxe and Clefable gets murdered by Sr. Tuercas too.
The Beartic of the next worker is also killed by Sr. Tuercas. Eeveeto takes care of Claydol and Gothitelle.
A Hiker leads with dangerous Tyranitar, but Rosellon kills it. I then send Mirage to destroy a Probopass.
Sr. Tuercas gets a sweep vs a Veteran's Sylveon, Drapion and another Klinklang.
Another worker is next. Rosellon deals with Conkelfurr, Mirage vs Cryogonal.
Mirage gets a sweep vs a Veteran's Carracosta, Crobat and Reuniclus.

I finally encounter Genesect at the end of the Twist Mountain:

Ok, what else I can do in this game? I go to the Battle House in Opelucid City, where I can do rematches vs Gym Leaders, but only 1 per day:

Just 5 Mons? Bro, Burgh, we are in the post-game already. Burgh leads with Yanmega, while I send Sr. Tuercas, who uses Dragon Dance, taking Bug Buzz.
Sr. Tuercas boosts again and takes another Bug Buzz.
Sr. Tuercas gets to +3 but is now in yellow.
Its enough to sweep, though:

The frail Accelgor comes in, one Return is enough. Except its not, he has Focus Sash:

Sr. Tuercas barely lives Aura Sphere, then finishes Accelgor.

Escavalier is next. Sr. Tuercas uses Rest and takes Giga Impact.
While asleep, Sr. Tuercas only takes Iron Head.
Sr. Tuercas wakes up, but misses Gear Grind, taking Iron Head.
Sr. Tuercas uses Gear Grind and takes Giga Impact.
Sr. Tuercas misses Gear Grind.

Ok, so leaders have just 5 Mons in the rematch, there is no point in challenging the rest of them.

I fly to Undella House and enter a random house, previously closed:

I actually expected to find Cynthia here, but ok, this girl will work too. My lead is Rosellon vs a Musharna. Rosellon uses Leech Seed and avoids Hypnosis.
Rosellon uses Sludge Bomb and is slept.

I switch Sr. Tuercas in, expecting to abuse Leech Seed, boost and just sweep. However, Caitlin predicts that and switches out Musharna, sending Gallade instead.

I send Rosellon back into Close Combat.

I then switch Mosqueton into Psycho Cut.
Mosqueton kills Gallade with EQ:

Musharna comes back and is killed too:

Sigilyph is next. I switch Amphy into Ice Beam.
Amphy takes Psychic and uses Thunderbolt.

I sack Rosellon:

I send Sr. Tuercas. He gest hit by Shadow Ball and uses Dragon Dance.
Sr. Tuercas uses Dragon Dance and gets hit by another Shadow Ball.
Sr. Tuercas boosts to +3 and gets to yellow and with Special Defense dropped.

Caitlin heals Gothitelle, which of course doesn,t work.

Reuniclus is the last opponent. I heal Mosqueton, who takes Psychic.
Mosqueton uses EQ and gets killed by a crit Psychic:

Actual challenging battle. Even if I tried to minimize casualties, unless I got a Dark type, I would have lost 1 or 2 Mons here.

Is she flirting with me? I prefer Shauntal or Elesa.

Then, suddenly, the music stops:

Piano starts playing and the real threat appears:

Ok, at least my team is healed. Cynthia leads with Spiritomb, who fails at using Sucker Punch, but Rosellon misses Leech Seed too.
Rosellon uses Leech Seed, avoiding another Sucker Punch.

I switch Sr. Tuercas while Spiritomb is still dumbly using Sucker Punch.
Sr. Tuercas uses Dragon Dance and is burned by Will-o-Wisp.
Spiritomb tries to use Sucker Punch again, Sr. Tuercas gets to +2.
Avoiding another Sucker Punch, Sr. Tuercas goes to sleep... except he doesn,t, Leech Seed mechanic fucks me over.
Without Sucker Punches PPs anymore, Spiritomb can,t prevent Sr. Tuercas from using Rest, but does quite a damage with Pain Split.
Spiritomb continues using Pain Split while Sr. Tuercas is asleep.
Sr. Tuercas wakes up and uses Dragon Dance again, getting hit by Pain Split. Leech Seed help though.
Sr. Tuercas kills Spiritomb, but gets 2 Rocky Helmet damages in the process:

Cynthia sends Eelektross. Unfortunately, +3 Return is not enough to kill it and Sr. Tuercas dies to Flamethrower:

Rosellon finishes Eelektross:

Cynthia sends Braviary. Amphy eats a Brave Bird.
Amphy is very damages and paralyzed by Body Slam, but crits Braviary with Thunderbolt:

Roserade is next. Mosqueton is poisoned by Sludge Bomb on the switch-in.
Mosqueton OHKOs Roserade with EQ:

Damn, Cynthia has a good taste, she uses a Glaceon. I switch Mirage into Ice Beam.
Surprisingly, Glaceon is faster than Mirage and uses Ice Beam before getting hit by Drain Punch.

Eeveeto takes next Ice Beam.
Eeveeto takes another Ice Beam and kills Glaceon with Surf:

There is no Garchomp in this game, so Cynthia's ace is Lucario instead. It OHKOs Eeveeto with Close Combat, which I didn,t expect at all:

Lucario gets recoil from Rocky Helmet and Life Orb. It doesn,t matter, though, Mosqueton just OHKOs it with EQ:

Surprisingly, Cynthia was easier than Caitlin. Of course, not having to deal with a Garchomp helps. Cynthia still killed 2 Mons, I could have avoided one if I switches Mosqueton into Eelektross.

After that, I fly to Floccessy Town and enter another house, previously closed. There I have another rival:

Alder leads with Accelgor. It uses Bug Buzz on Rosellon and is seeded.
Accelgor uses Bug Buzz again, Rosellon heals with Synthesis.
Accelgor continues attacking, Rosellon heals.
Accelgor uses Bug Buzz again, Rosellon heavily damages it with Sludge Bomb, poisoning it too.

Since Accelgor will die after attacking, Rosellon will be damaged and won,t be able to heal this turn. Therefore, I send Sr. Tuercas to take Bug Buzz, Accelgor dies:

Alder sends Bouffalant. Mirage gets intp Earthquake.
Mirage uses Drain Punch and takes Megahorn.
Bouffalant suddenly uses Extreme Speed and kills Mirage:

I send Amphy. Bouffalant is faster but uses Earthquake vs Air Balloon, dying to Thunderbolt:

Conkeldurr is next. Where is Mirage when I need him? Amphy uses Thunderbolt and takes a powerful Hammer Arm, boosted by Life Orb.

Rosellon takes Mach Punch.
Rosellon finishes Conkeldurr:

Alder sends Vanilluxe. Sr. Tuercas enters into a crit Blizzard.
Sr. Tuercas uses Rest, taking 3 Blizzards in a row.
Sr. Tuercas uses Rest again, avoiding the next Blizzard.
Vanilluxe uses Light Screen and then starts using Flash Cannon and Acid Armor.
This allows Sr. Tuercas to easily get to +6 with Dragon Dance. Then, he murders Alder's team:

Except he doesn.t. Volcarona has Focus Sash:

Sr. Tuercas once again isn,t able to sweep:

Mosqueton comes in. Alder tries to heal Volcarona but fails, the bug is dead in 2 turns:

There is still an Escavalier. But instead of trying to crit Mosqueton, it uses Sword Dance and dies in 2 turns:

Despite having 3 Bugs, Alder is a powerful Champion and was able to kill 2 Mons from my team. I don,t think I could have avoided either of the kills.

I don,t think Sr. Tuercas enjoyed Volcarona's Flamethrower...

Alder reminded me that he is a ex-Champion, so now I go to search for another one. Back to Opelucid City I go, specifically to this house:

Iris is who I am searching for:

Iris leads with a scary Hydreigon, but I casually have as lead the Pokemon with the best match-up vs it, Mirage. Hydreigon uses Dragon Pulse, but Mirage recovers everything with Drain Punch.
Hydreigon uses Dragon Pulse again and dies:

Iris sends Archeops. I switch Amphy into Acrobatics.
Archeops would apreciate having Earthquake now that Balloon has been popped, but he uses Stone Edge instead and misses. Amphy doesn,t OHKO with Thunderbolt though.
Archeops misses again and dies:

Aggron is next. Mirage comes into the obvious Earthquake.
Mirage uses Drain Punch but Aggron survives and does a lot of damage with Meteor Mash.
Mirage finishes Aggron:

Amphy levels up and conveniently learns Dragon Pulse, which for this specific battle should be useful if he fights again.
Dragonite appears. I switch Eeveeto in... right into a crit Outrage boosted by Life Orb:

Mosqueton comes in and murders Dragonite with Dragon Claw:

Honorable Dragon named Crawdaunt is sent out. I switch Rosellon in, avoiding Aqua Tail.
Rosellon kills Crawdaunt with Energy Ball:

Finally, the ace Haxorus. I have to sack one Mon minimum vs it. Rosellon doesn,t even get to move, Haxorus OHKOs with Outrage:

This gives free way to Sr. Tuercas, who tanks Outrage and uses Dragon Dance.
Sr. Tuercas uses Gear Grind and takes another Outrage.
Sr. Tuercas finishes the battle with Gear Grind:

Another champion that gets 2 kills vs me. I had some luck vs Archeops though (the Aqua Tail miss of Crawdaunt didn,t matter at all). Both kills were very hard to avoid, so Iris could be clasified as a good opponent.

Ok, is someone left to be beaten in this game? I check the trainers document of the game and actually there are some more opponents. First is Rood, in the Shopping Mall:

He tells me to meet him at his Shelter in Driftveil City.

Rood leads with Stoutland. Mirage uses Bulk Up and takes Wild Charge.
Mirage kills Stoutland with Drain Punch:

Swoobat is one Mon Mirage can,t beat, so I send Amphy while it uses Calm Mind.
Swoobat boosts again and takes Thunderbolt.
Swoobat uses Psychic and is killed by a second Thunderbolt:

Rood sends Umbreon. It uses Night Slash and Amphy heals with Rest.
Amphy takes 2 more Night Slashes.

Then I switch Mirage in, but Rood predicts that and sends Espeon.

I switch Sr. Tuercas into Dazzling Gleam.
Espeon uses Dazzling Gleam again, Sr. Tuercas boosts with Dragon Dance.
Sr. Tuercas takes another Dazzling Gleam, going down to yellow, but getting to +2.
Sr. Tuercas kills Espeon with a crit Gear Grind:

Umbreon is back. Sr. Tuercas uses Gear Grind and barely lives a crit Night Slash.
Sr. Tuercas uses Rest, taking 3 Night Slashes.
Sr. Tuercas finishes Umbreon:

Rood sends Leavanny, which doesn,t get to move:

Rood's ace is a Crobat, another walled by Sr. Tuercas Mon. The bat actually lives a +2 Gear Grind, using Super Fang.
Rood heals Crobat, but its back to red on the same turn.
Sr. Tuercas finishes the battle:

No casualties this time, Rood is quite easy to beat. Its ok, he is neither a Champion, nor a Elite Four, he is not meant to be hard. His team is pretty cool though, 2 Eeveelutions, 2 bats, a bug and a dog. All of those except Stoutland evolve by happiness.

I search for a while the remaining 2 trainers and almost give up, when I decide to visit the exclusive area of the Shopping Mall. There, Elesa gives me useful information:

So, I go to Nimbasa Park and find the protagonist of BW2:

Nate leads with a level 72 Darmanitan. I switch Mirage out and send Eeveeto, but Nate somehow predicts that and switches Amoonguss in.

I switch Sr. Tuercas in, while the mushroom uses Double Team.
Sr. Tuercas easily gets to +6, but Amoonguss uses a lot of Double Teams in the process, sleeping Sr. Tuercas after the 6th DD.
Amoonguss uses Giga Drain for free.
Sr. Tuercas wakes up but misses Return. Amoonguss boosts its Evasion again.
Sr. Tuercas hits Return, but even +6 one fails to OHKO Amoonguss:

Sr. Tuercas is slept.
Amoonguss uses Giga Drain for free.

Nate withdraws Amoonguss and sends Froslass.
Froslass uses Hail.
Froslass uses Shadow Ball.
Sr. Tuercas wakes up and begins the slaughter:

But Nate doesn,t surrender. He has a Quick Claw Kingdra that burns Sr. Tuercas with Scald, avoiding death this way.
Sr. Tuercas still kills Kingdra:

Level 76 Samurott is the ace. Sr. Tuercas uses Return and avoids Aqua Tail.
Next Return finishes the battle:

This should have been a very hard battle, given that I am massively underleveled. But Nate decided to throw the battle by sending Amoonguss turn 1 when he didn,t have to. Amoonguss proved to be the perfect set-up fodder for Sr. Tuercas.

Nate escapes after the battle.

I go back to the Shopping Mall of Route 9. Bianca is the one who tells me where to search the next opponent:

That opponent speaks as much as Nate:

Hilbet is much harder to beat than Nate, he directly leads with Haxorus, which uses Dragon Dance, taking Drain Punch from Mirage.
Loyal to its name, Haxorus haxes Mirage with a crit Dragon Claw:

I send Eeveeto. Haxorus uses a second Dragon Dance and survives Ice Beam.
Haxorus uses Dragon Claw. Eeveeto survives in red, Haxorus dies from Rocky Helmet:

Level 78 Serperior surely is the ace. Fortunately, Rosellon can wall it, despite a crit Leaf Blade.

Hilber withdraws Serperior and sends Chandelure, who is poisoned by Sludge Bomb.

Mosqueton takes Overheat, losing half of his life.
Chandelure is scarfed and uses a second Overheat before dying to EQ:

Serperior is back. So is Rosellon, easily taking Dragon Pulse.
Serperior paralyzes Rosellon with Glare. Rosellon heals with Synthesis.
Serperior uses Dragon Pulse and is killed by a crit Sludge Bomb:

Excadrill comes. I sack Eeveeto:

Mosqueton obviously kills the Drill:

Bisharp is next. Could have been dangerous if it had SD + Sucker Punch, but instead it just dies:

Gigalith is the last Hilbert's Mon. It takes EQ and uses the same move. Mosqueton survives with 9 HP.
The last battle ends with Earthquake:

A very fitting ending of the game. Rosellon once again killing the ace Mon, while Mosqueton deleted everything else with EQ. Hilbert got 2 kills, given the massive level advantage he had, could have been worse.

After beating Hilbert, credits of the game appear:

So, this is how the game ends. The Nuzlocke was lost in a very unfair way, but the game was fun anyway. The post-game had some cool challenges and the story in general made sense, despite being in Gen 2 style (back then, stories used to be pretty weak and dull). I recommend playing this game, best Pokemon region combined with best generation in terms of mechanics and art style make a good combo.
Hopefully next challenge (in a few months) will be more succesfull than this one.

Between Grimsley and Marshal, I have a better battle plan vs Marshal, so I go vs him first. Mirage should just boost and kill all the opposition.

Throh is pretty low at this point, so a crit Reversal + Quick Claw activating would screw me. But I will have to risk it, since Throh uses Endure, taking Leech Seed before being hit by Mirage, surviving at 1 HP.
There is no Quick Claw activation though, Mirage kills Throh:

This battle was already hard with a full team, but not being able to do anything between Ghetsis's 2 battles and Juniper's one, made it impossible. Just by using my 21 Rare Candies on the 3 surviving Mons would have made this a lot easier without me even being overleveled (21 Rare Candies would make Mirage, Eeveeto and Mosqueton grow to level 72 each), but the game didn,t give me the posibility. As a good villain, it was Ghetsis who actually defeated me, not Juniper.

The challenge is considered lost, but I will finish the game anyway. In the next post I will beat Juniper without worrying about losing, since I already did it. I will also see what post-game this game has.

That is a blatantly bad game design when I see one since it means the player would end up having their party team too weak to continue two later battles without cheesing, so it’s no wonder any nuzlocke run of this game seems impossible without leve grinding.

That said, it’s good for you to continue the journey without the Trilocke rules instead of dropping the game to see the rest of the game.
