In a flash of blue light, both trainers' Pokemon are revealed, and the battle is primed to begin; Mowtom leads with Fawnifer, and Dogfish counters with Scorbunny. Shaking its pelt vigorously, Fawnifer bombards its opponent with a volley of seeds that burrow into the rabbit's flesh. Unfazed by the display, Scorbunny charges forward, leaving a smoldering trail as it closes the distance to strike Fawnifer. After delivering a violent kick, Scorbunny takes advantage of Fawnifer's apparent hesitation, springing from the ground to position itself for an aerial assault. Dropping from the sky above its target, Scorbunny hurtles back to the earth, but Fawnifer is ready for this attack; bracing itself for impact, Fawnifer counters with an enormous slam, hurling Scorbunny into a nearby obstacle. Nevertheless, Scorbunny quickly returns to bludgeon the wounded deer with its burning feet, retaliating with another fiery rush. Aware of the imminent danger, Scorbunny leaps to the side, dodging Chewtle's slippery slam before landing nimbly on its feet. Scorbunny then wastes no time in parlaying its momentum into a tremendous jump, bounding high into the air above Chewtle. Nevertheless, Scorbunny's attack glances off the turtle's shell, leaving it vulnerable as Chewtle delivers a vicious counterattack with its horn. Weakened by the last remaining seeds within its coat, Scorbunny begins to feel the repercussions of its strenuous fighting, but it manages once more to artfully evade Chewtle's charge; neverthless, the prolonged combat has taken a toll on Scorbunny, and the rabbit's efforts have failed to produce a noticeable effect on its new opponent, leaving Dogfish in a worsened position.

Dogfish withdraws his Scorbunny, tossing out a Pokeball to replace it with his Grookey. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Mowtom swaps her Pokemon in a series of flashes and whirring noises, bringing out Cutiefly to fight the monkey. Immediately, Cutiefly begins beating its wings ferociously, producing a droning sound that assaults Grookey's ears, leaving them ringing as Grookey cowers in a disoriented manner. In retaliation, Grookey looses a feral screech, causing Cutiefly to wince and lower its guard. Nevertheless, Cutiefly maintains a determined demeanor as it blows a silver wind into the arena, buffeting the deafened Grookey with additional force. Despite its pain and confusion, Grookey remains stalwart, emitting a second howl to intimidate its opponent, but it is soon drowned out by another cacophonous keening. Driven by the agony of its condition, Grookey solidifies its reserve, channeling its suffering and hardship into pure desperate energy as it lunges to meet Cutiefly. With a terrible smashing noise, Grookey brings its stick down upon Cutiefly's soft body, sending the bug plummeting to the ground amidst a shower of splinters. Nevertheless, Cutiefly soon lifts itself from the ground, resuming its ominous hover grizzled but not defeated. As for Grookey, the same can not be said; its severely weakened state is apparent at a glance, and Dogfish will need to employ an exceptional strategy to salvage his Pokemon.
