Welcome to the culmination tour for the 2023 NeverUsed tournament circuit. After 12 months and 7 tournaments we have reached our top 16 players. Over the next few weeks they will be fighting for the chance to win the NeverUsed Circuit Ribbon.

SPECIFIC RULES
​
  • The format for this tournament is SV NU, best of three.​
  • Replays are required. Playing on the Smogtours server is recommended to ensure that replays are saved.​
General Rules:​
  • Sleep Clause: If a player has already put an opposing Pokémon to sleep using a sleep inducing move and that Pokémon is still sleeping due to that sleep inducing move, the player cannot put another opposing Pokémon to sleep using a sleep inducing move.​
  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same species of Pokémon on their team, based on the National Pokedex Number. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.​
  • Evasion Clause: Players cannot use Double Team or Minimize in any of their Pokémon's movesets.​
  • OHKO Clause: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.​
  • Timer Clause: If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.​
  • Endless Battle Clause: Any moveset on any pokemon that is capable of intentionally causing an endless battle is banned from competitive play.​

#1 DugZa vs #16 outbackrabbit : I'm rooting for wadley to come out alive of the AUS showdown. Despite this being 1st vs 16th seed I don't see this as a free win for Dugza.
#2 Elias PSY vs #15 Pokeslice : Slice plot armor
#3 Axrtix vs #14 OranBerryBlissey10 : Axrtix has been getting more tour experience and is a pretty good builder and player for NU
#4 eifo vs #13 etern : etern is good at the game and controls the tiering. probably uses the broken stuff he DNBs

#6 kythr vs #11 GXE : GXE plays really well and when he's building/testing, he really pushes meta development
#7 Tuthur vs #10 avarice : Tuthur's coming off the SSNL win and keep that momentum going.
#8 Medeia vs #9 zS : zS does particularly well in early meta's where stuff is still being figured out. He finds niche options that are good, like Floatzel....

outbackrabbit vs zS: Two of the most creative builders in nu, will be a fun one to watch. I think zS is a slight favorite but it can go either way.

Danny vs eifo: Danny has better knowledge of the game imo and is more willing to experiment with his teams which should give him an edge in a very unstable metagame.

OranBerryBlissey10 vs kythr: OBB is more in tune with the tier but kythr is a very solid, consistent player. If kythr has the right support he can easily take this.

Tuthur vs Pokeslice: The script writers told me the slice plot armor has not worn off yet.
