I'd recommend removing Volcarona for a breaker, since your team currently has no immediate power
Hello pinka I am new to team building and would take any tips to improve this team, including alternating Pokemon. I've been using it for national dex which is why you see tapu koko but I think a version of it could work well in OU if I replaced tapu koko with rillaboom or something similar. I really enjoy using the tapu koko, slowking, and valiant. https://pokepast.es/16b6a52c3b47c581

Adjusting this for OU would be difficult, Koko is very central to your team. That being said, I'd recommend Rilla over Koko and SpDef Gliscor over Landorus.
A team for your consideration, good sir. It sortof encapsulates a lot of things I don't understand about OU specifically.

Your team doesn't seem to have a central goal, that's my main concern. I can't tell what playstyle you were going for either... which pokemon were you trying to build around originally, Clodsire?
    ralts_boy
    ralts_boy
Ye; Clodsire was the original goal. Part of the problem there is I feel like it's hard to build a team around a defensive mon like that unless you want stall. So then I went with Raikou second and tried to put Clod in as part of a defensive core, and went from there.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Yes it is difficult building around a defensive pokemon, it helps to pair Clodisre with a bulky physical pivot like Corv / Gliscor since it's a major momentum drain
Hi, like your videos a lot. I made my first for indigo disk and this is the result after a lot of revisions. If you let me know what you think I'd appreciate it!

You may also want to consider Scorching Sands over Earth Power on Landorus.

Thanks, and its mostly solid! The biggest threats i run into are zamazenta if I let hatterene get weak, and archaludon and kingambit. I think kg is a bit better now with wisp on tran and scorching sands on lando, but i was thinking maybe giving rillaboom superpower to 2hko archaludon and replacing kingambit with another dark type with knock and sucker (either meowscarada or h-samurott).
    Venuesaur
    Venuesaur
I was also potentially considering changing wellspring to cornerstone because cornerstone has better offensive coverage and with hatt blocking hazards, gterrain giving healing + boosting horn leech it can potentially abuse sturdy, but I'd need to replace kg with a water resist dark type like meow or hsam for that.
Hi! I am a huge fan of your videos, they have helped me a lot to improve please keep making more
I will really appreciate if you could check my team and give me your most sincere opinion. It will mean to me the world if you could give me some advice of the counters to the team and ev spreads if possible. Thank you. https://pokepast.es/5bad4390c94d4f79

I'm so glad that I was able to help you out! I'll certainly keep making them. My main criticism of this team is the lack of a distinct playstyle. Most of your team seems like a Hyper Offense, but the Samurott and Great Tusk sets are not suited for HO, and Gliscor is very out of place. I recommend removing Gliscor for a Light Screen / Reflect / Aurora Veil setter, and adjusting your Great Tusk and Hrott sets.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Try SD Ceaseless Sucker Aqua Cutter Hrott, BU Taunt Ice Spinner HLR Tusk, use Aura Sphere over Psychic on Latias, and I'd recommend Earthquake or Morning Sun over Burning Bulwark on GF.

thank you very much you helped me a lot with the changes you suggested but I am still struggling to find an offensive pokemon that goes by special attack. here is my team at the moment https://pokepast.es/c42b7116e64c5d78

I would avoid using Ceruledge, it's quite bad currently. Also, I would advise testing teams before reaching out to me-- it'll give you a better idea of what's going wrong, you can tell me, and I can provide better aid.
Hello pink, i am about to have a round in the ost but my team feels like its in shambles, i lost to a maushold several times over and i really need to just build better would you mind taking a look at this team and i dont care what u change as long as iron valiant is still there https://pokepast.es/408ee70ee4988061

I wouldn't know where to start with edits, the team appears to have no central goal. I'd probably restart building around one of the pokemon on the team.

Hey pink, are you planning on doing another rating and fixing my viewers Ou team and if so how do I apply my team

Hi, I've been watching a few of your videos and I wonder if you could find any flaws with this team, (https://pokepast.es/9faab8c78d37ca60) I made it a few days ago because I wanted to try out Jugulis in OU. Out of all the versions this one is my favourite, Tusk, Gholdengo and Jugulis are on each version whilst Ogerpon and Latias have been switched around alot.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I recommend removing Latias and replacing it with a stronger sweeper / breaker. Roaring Moon would fit well.
    Mystora

I will try it out, thanks!
hi pinkacross, loved the vid from the other day! i've been trying to make hisuian arcanine work with spikes (main idea being to spam head smash whenever possible), would love your thoughts on this team if you get a chance! :} https://pokepast.es/0773a569e3e9e919
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I recommend putting SR on tusk-- scarf arcanine is not going to be in a good position to set rocks very often. You also have no Ghost resist, try Kingambit over Gholdengo.

yo pinkacross, i got this team ive been trying to build and ive kind of hit a wall w it. im trying to remake a bulky blaziken team from last gen which is baisically what i learned mons on, and i wanted to try to make it work in gen 9 and this is what i got. https://pokepast.es/09117681cd9fd05c this got me to 1700s
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
This looks very much like a gen 8 team, and it has some of the flaws that a gen 8 team would have coming to gen 9. I'd imagine you would struggle against HO, a lot of your team is weak against common gen 9 priority like Dnite and Kingambit. I'm not a believer in SD Garchomp in this Gliscor metagame, I would remove the Chomper and Blaziken sadly and replace them with stronger sweepers.
    Hello,
I’ve been building this double dragon dance bulky offense/offense team but something’s off with it and I’m clueless as to what. https://pokepast.es/121b600d0a2421d9 Most sets are normal and straightforward with the exception of gouging fire’s.
    The Silly
    The Silly
Breaking swipe is used to PP stall dondozo, either breaking through it and sweeping at +6 or getting it weakened to the point where it can’t stop roaring moon. Tera steel was chosen over Tera fairy to improve the stall matchup by giving it a toxic immunity so it can setup on gliscor too… its some new tech me and someone else in the 2000’s came up with and have been using.
    The Silly
    The Silly
Problematic matchups can include certain pult sets, raging bolt, and opposing gouging fires. The team doesn’t like ghold too much either
    The Silly
    The Silly
(Also one last thing id like to add is that it peaked at around 1780 elo)
Yo, I loved ur team rating vids! I've been trying to put together a team that revolves around 3 of the best G8 OU mons - Weavile, Pult and Lando-T - lmk if I should change
    https://pokepast.es/10cdcfc4b4d20289
What I'd personally change tho is Tera Ice Lando-T and st for hazard control thats not tusk.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Your team is very vulnerable to Gouging Fire, I'd recommend using a physically defensive Scorching Sands Landorus.

Hey Pinkacross ive seen some of your recent videos on rating gen9 ou teams . recently ive had good success with using AV Samurott-Hisui , i think my team gets bullied by banned Meowscarada. i was hoping you can give me some advice on improving me team https://pokepast.es/07cbcc187294fd08
    Hi, Pinkacross
I've watched some of your videos (great content btw) and it inspired me to try building teams. I tried starting off with something I thought that would be fun to use (ie Scarf Lando) and go from there. This is the best I came up with: https://pokepast.es/88bfc61f67fffd03
Would you mind giving me suggestions on how to improve it, or just about what synergizes w/ Specs Keldeo?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Glad to hear youre enjoying the content! I would recommend putting Keldeo on a balance. You're mixing playstyles a bit here, putting Keldeo on what appears to be half HO.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Keldeo mainly struggles with spdef walls like Glowking, so running pokemon that can pressure and chip glowking and clodsire is helpful.
Hey, I finally decided to check out your YouTube channel and I just wanna say that it’s really amazing :). You are very pedagogical and explain things will with really good tips. As a pretty bad player I have struggled with finding really good YouTubers and I think your channel is a great resource!

    EeveeWillEatYou
I would also love one big overarching teambuilding video going over everything from the ground up, or perhaps even a series. (Also maybe some more UUbers content)
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Thanks so much! Good word too, I love saying 'pedagogical.' I certainly will be making more general teambuilding guides soon! Thank you for the support! :] As for UUbers content, I may explore it further but videos about OU certainly have performed better, so that will be my main focus.
    Hi pink,
I've been using booster spam too get through mid ladder but i figured out my team looses to trickroom and it's pretty weak to webs any suggestions?

Both of these playstyles are destroyed by Sub Glare Serperior, try that over something (perhaps Raging Bolt).
    hi pinkacross
I've been having success with this team but I feel like it is missing something so I'd like and appreciate if you gave me some feedback pls

Your team is structured like a hazard stack but you have no stealth rock user. Try SR over Knock Off on Gliscor.
    H4t3 this game
I'll try it! my only concern is that everything runs heavy duty boots and I dont want to remove u-turn but anyways I'll find a way to work around it
Thanks for taking your time to see my team :)
    Hey Pinkacross,
I know you said that rain is unviable, but would you have any suggestions for this team? I’m currently at 1698 elo.
Toedscruel is basically a suicide lead that will always put something to sleep if they don’t have a grass type or at least getting a spike if they do.
Sinistcha probably seems weird, but it is a fantastic check to Dragonite.
    https://pokepast.es/1da0df7833313906
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Your lack of a Ghost resist concerns me, perhaps try to add a Kingambit here (probably over Sinistcha).
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Air Balloon Kingambit will help against Dragonite, that's the set I'd recommend here. Not as good as Sinistcha in that role, but all the issues with Rain are pretty near impossible to patch up in my experience.
    Iron Rooster
    Iron Rooster
That makes sense having a more well rounded pokemon instead of a very specific one and priority always helps. I’ve also been experimenting with AV gambit to check Raging Bolt and other special threats as well. Thank you
