Rhydon @ Eviolite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Atk / 240 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Rock Blast
- Megahorn/Swords Dance

Really boring submission but tank Rhydon is a hard check to Archeops. Has a high chance to avoid the 3hko from Archeops' Earth Power and OHKO's in return with a 3 hit Rock Blast. Only reason I consider it a check instead of a counter is that it lacks recovery so it's susceptible to being whittled through repeated switch-ins.

16+ Atk Rhydon Rock Blast (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Archeops: 324-384 (111.3 - 131.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Quagsire as a check. Quagsire can easily switch in to an Acrobatics or Earth Power and can put it in Defeatist with Scald/Waterfall. I consider it a check instead of a counter because it relies on putting it into Defeatist and then getting healthy with recover.

252 Atk Archeops Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 153-180 (38.8 - 45.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Recover
- Scald
- Earth Power
- Toxic / Ice Beam

Gastrodon is a good Check to Archeops, being able to take any one of it's moves and strike back with Scald, which does a huge amount of damage to Archeops. Acrobatics does do a lot of damage to Gastrodon however (like 40-48%), making it less of a counter and more of a check, although having reliable recovery is good for checking Chops throughout the match.

252 Atk Archeops Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Gastrodon: 174-205 (40.8 - 48.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Stunfisk is cute mon that eats Acros and Edges like they were his dinnah, and can even paralyze dis bitch ass rock bird with that dank Static if they try to Acro ya. You may be thinking, 'but the earth powah is super effective, surely stunfisk cant take that!!!' Well guess what bitches, because of that juicy 99 special defense, it also munches of those E-Powers. And from there, you can bop 'em with the Charge of the Dis, putting it in that Defeatist range, making it even weaker than it already is, or flat out ohko that bitch-ass if it has taken that STEALTH ROCK damage.

take a look at these snacks:
252 Atk Archeops Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Stunfisk: 76-90 (18 - 21.3%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery

My beautiful friend Weezing is a great check to Sawsbuck, as it can stomach any move from Sawsbuck, 2HKO it with Sludge Bomb, cripple it with Will-O-Wisp, or set up Toxic Spikes on it, whereas Sawsbuck can only 3HKO Weezing with Double Edge, which wears it down pretty fast.

Calcs:

Drifblim as a check. Sawsbuck can't hit Drifblim with Double-Edge or Jump Kick, and has to click Horn Leech to get damage off of it. it doesn't kill it at +2 even with SR up and you outspeed after Unburden + kill with Acrobatics.

Scyther is a really good check. Cant switch into double-edge at all since it gets 2hkod (ded after rocks) but horn leech and jump kick do absolutely nothing and can easily outspeed and get rid of sawsbuck with aerial ace after a round of life orb recoil. This is surprisingly pretty difficult to check o_o

Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Gunk Shot
- Drain Punch

Garbodor is a pretty good check to any Sawsbuck set that doesn't run Earthquake. While a +2 LO Double Edge definitely OHKOes Garbodor even with a Jolly nature... it also OHKOes Sawsbuck after Stealth Rock! Sawsbuck starts at 100% with 301 HP and loses 121 HP from Double Edge recoil if Garb is at full health, 30 HP from Life Orb recoil, 75 HP from Aftermath recoil, 50 HP from Rocky Helmet recoil, and 37 HP from Stealth Rock, leaving Sawsbuck with... less than 0 HP. Meanwhile if it doesn't attack you can either set up some hazards or deal damage with Gunk Shot or Drain Punch.

-Rip i was about to post scyther but got sniped. Charizard is another bulky sweeper I like, and its a decent check to sawsbuck, works pretty similarly to scyther since it can take any hit from sawsbuck and ohko back with acrobatics after LO damage, while not allowing it to setup since it has higher speed.

Timid Nature

Nice check to Swords Dance Sawsbuck. Haunter is immune to Double-Edge and Jump Kick, so it can switch into those easily, and can take one Horn Leech, although it still takes over half of it's health to do so (Haunter why must you have such bad bulk). But Haunter can outspeed Sawsbuck with it's Choice Scarf and OHKO it with Sludge Bomb, so it's still a good check to it.

Just like with Gourgeist-XL, Sawsbuck really can't touch this thing at all. It's immune to Normal/Fighting coverage and resists Sawsbuck's Grass-type STAB, allowing it to take jack-all from it. In return it outpaces and either cripples it with Wisp or deals heavy damage to Sawsbuck with Foul Play, which takes advantage of Sawsbuck's potentially-boosted attack stat to deal huge damage.

So, since the good gourgiest forms are taken, thought i'd just post about gourgiest-m and gougiest-l... jk, not going to.

Sawsbuck cannot touch this demon, liek nada. it just stands there in terror of what this soulless monster can do to it; which is wreck it with either will-o or x-scissor, or predict the switch with baton pass. ev's are fairly standard with the 4 in hp for style points. here are some calcs:

Sawsbuck Horn Leech vs. Wonder Guard Shedinja: 0-0 (0 - 0%) -- aim for the horn next time
Sawsbuck Double-Edge vs. Shedinja: 0-0 (0 - 0%) -- aim for the horn next time

Quoting the OP:
3. Only post sets viable in NU. Niche Pokemon such as Stunfisk or Vibrava are acceptable, but bottom-of-the-barrel stuff like Bastiodon and Regigigas aren't. The viability ranking thread is your best friend, so if something isn't ranked there, most of the time it's not worth posting here. You may not post Shedinja.
Working on updating this now.

Mawile @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature

- Play Rough
- Baton Pass

Steelix is usually better for a role like this but Mawile's able to check a few specific targets Steelix might not always beat and one of them includes Sawsbuck. Mawile does a good job taking on SD Sawsbuck as it can easily take a SD boosted jump kick and can wear Sawsbuck down with Play Rough or you can even just pivot out with Baton Pass to an offensive partner.

+1 252 Atk Life Orb Sawsbuck Jump Kick vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mawile: 142-168 (46.8 - 55.4%) -- 16.4% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Choice Banded Muk is a pretty nice check as it can easily OHKO sawsbuck with 3 of its moves, those being Fire Punch, Ice Punch and Gunk Shot. Muk takes 0 from both Horn Leech and Jump Kick but takes quite a bit from Double Edge. However, it can live and OHKO it back with 3 of its moves thus making it a pretty decent check.

Actually Metang is an amazing counter to sub np jynx, even Lovely Kiss Jynx have some troubles to deal with it due to his amazing priority in Bullet Punch. It can decently take a +6 Ice Beam and just bop Jynx with Meteor Mash if you want to go for the attack boost. Even if with a Metang on your side, a Jynx will never set up more than one Nasty Plot.

- Stealth Rock

- Rock Slide / Rock Tomb
- Knock Off

Defensive Carracosta does a good enough job at handling Jynx without Lovely Kiss or Focus Blast (or Energy Ball for that matter) due to its good mixed bulk and solid Attack stat. Rock Tomb and Knock Off both do enough damage to OHKO Jynx while Jynx can't manage to 2HKO it back even at +2. I wouldn't recommend this as your Jynx check without sufficient scouting of course.
