[OVERVIEW]

Sylveon is one of the best clerics in the tier thanks to its mono-Fairy typing allowing it to switch into strong and powerful Dragon-, Dark-, and Fighting-type moves such as Latias and Hydreigon's Draco Meteor, Krookodile's Knock Off, and Infernape's Close Combat. It also has access to Wish and Heal Bell, which allows it to keep its teammates healthy throughout a match and get rid of potentially damaging status conditions. Additionally, it can take most unboosted special attacks due to its superb special bulk and can retaliate with a strong Pixilate-boosted Hyper Voice. However, some special attackers such as Volcanion and Primarina can 2HKO Sylveon in spite of its bulk. Latias in particular can beat Sylveon with a combination of Calm Mind and Roost. Sylveon is further held back by its mediocre base 65 Defense stat,, which means it is 2HKOed by some physical attackers, such as Choice Band Infernape and Terrakion, even with maximum investment. Furthermore, it also has weaknesses to common Poison- and Steel-type moves in the tier from the likes of Scizor and Mega Beedrill. It also faces competition from Florges, which trades a lower Defense stat and weaker attacks for more Speed and access to a one-turn recovery move.

Moves
========

Even uninvested, Hyper Voice hits decently hard thanks to Pixilate and can land some KOs on frailer Pokemon such as Mega Sceptile and Mega Absol, and as such, it is the main attacking move. Additionally, it can hit through Substitute, which can be useful to deal with Pokemon such as Raikou or Terrakion. Wish is Sylveon's only reliable recovery option and can also heal up teammates. Protect is used to scout for foes' sets and heal Sylveon up safely. Heal Bell gets rid of status conditions for teammates consistently, as Sylveon is often able to come in many times due to its bulk, while also letting it last longer in a match by preventing it from being worn down by status. Hidden Power Fire is used to 2HKO bulky Scizor and OHKO offensive Scizor while also nailing Mega Abomasnow, which may try to set up on Sylveon due to its Soundproof ability before Mega Evolving.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP and Defense investment allows Sylveon to pass larger Wishes to its teammates as well as better check Dragon- and Dark-types such as Mega Sceptile, Mega Altaria, and Mega Sharpedo. Leftovers gives Sylveon a form of passive recovery. Pixilate is the ability of choice, allowing it to hit as hard as possible with Hyper Voice.

Usage Tips
========

Come in on a Pokémon Pokemon that Sylveon walls such as Mega Sceptile and Hydreigon, use Wish if you need to replenish the HP of Sylveon, or use Hyper Voice to chip down more frailer switch-ins like Mega Beedrill if this is not the case. Be careful of when clicking Protect, however, as it could allow offensive threats such as Nidoking or Scizor to switch in freely. You(consistency) should avoid having Sylveon take too much damage, so use Hidden Power Fire on a predicted Scizor switch-in, not in one-on-one situations. Lastly, be careful not to let Sylveon take stronger physical attacks such as those from Choice Band Infernape, Mamoswine, and Terrakion due to its middling Defense stat.

Team Options
========

Sylveon generally fits on more bulky or balanced teams that appreciate that Wish support and its useful defensive typing. Bulky Water-types such as Swampert, Mega Blastoise, and Suicune can take on Steel-types such as Mega Steelix and Klefki as well as Fire-types. In return, Sylveon takes on prominent Dragon-types like Mega Sceptile, Hydreigon, and Latias while also keeping them healthy with Wish, something the aforementioned bulky Water-types would struggle with due to their lack of recovery. Tentacruel is especially good, since it resists Poison- and Steel-type attacks and is especially good at keeping entry hazards off the field, thus taking pressure off Sylveon to keep itself healthy. Sylveon also likes Psychic-types such as Celebi and Latias, which can surprise Scizor with Hidden Power Fire as well as get rid of Poison-types such as Amoonguss and Tentacruel. Steel-types such as Mega Steelix, Mega Aggron, and Scizor make good partners because they resist both of Sylveon's weaknesses, and enjoy Sylveon's ability to keep them healthy with Wish and take on Fighting-types, and can stomach most physical attacks, which Sylveon struggles with due to its low Defense stat. Offensive Pokemon such as Mega Latias, Talonflame, and Cobalion like Sylveon's ability to keep them healthy as well.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A Choice Specs set is usable, but Primarina outclasses Sylveon at this role due to its stronger STAB combination and ability to beat common Steel-types like Scizor and Cobalion. A Calm Mind set with Rest, Snore, and Hyper Voice holding a Pixie Plate can be used, but it takes too long to set up and Sylveon doesn't have the Speed or bulk to pull it off consistently.. Psyshock can be used in place of Hidden Power Fire or Heal Bell, allowing Sylveon to OHKO or 2HKO offensive Poison-types such as Crobat, Nidoking, and Mega Beedrill, but it isn't generally as useful as the two aforementioned moves.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Steel-types like Scizor, Mega Steelix, and Empoleon can switch in freely and either wall Sylveon or KO it with a super effective move. Scizor, however, must be wary of being 2HKOed by Hidden Power Fire.

**Poison-types**: Bulky Poison-types such as Amoonguss and Tentacruel can wall Sylveon and wear it down with their super effective moves.

**Physical Attackers**: Due to Sylveon's poor Defense, strong physical attackers like Choice Band Infernape, Cobalion, and Mamoswine can easily 2HKO Sylveon with their attacks

**Residual Damage**: Sylveon is very prone to being worn down by residual damage such as entry hazards, status conditions, and U-turn from Pokemon such as Hydreigon and Scizor, especially after Stealth Rock. In addition, common hazard setters such as Klefki, Tentacruel, and Empoleon can take advantage of Sylveon's inability to meaningfully damage them as an opportunity to set up their hazards, thus limiting Sylveon's ability to be effective later in the game.

Intro: you don't need to describe exactly what Pixilate does. You can just end that sentence after the word Pixilate. Talking about previous gens is generally discouraged, so just remove the parts about ORAS. Remove the last line too, "summary" statements shouldn't be used. Add a line about facing competition from Florges, which has one turn recovery and enough speed to beat Conkeldurr, at the cost of significantly lower physical bulk and a weaker STAB move.

Moves: Psyshock shouldn't be listed here, put it in OO.

Set Details: Remove the buzzwole mention, replace with mega Sharpedo. Add a brief line about Pixilate here.

Usage Tips: first line is kind of weird. Instead of that, say something like pivot into sylveon against a Pokemon it walls or forces out. use Wish to heal sylveon or one of its teammates, or use hyper voice to wear down switching like beedrill if sylveon is healthy enough. Add a line about weighing when to use Protect vs Hyper Voice/switching to not give up too much momentum. Remove the Psyshock mention here too.

Team Options: add offensive Pokemon that appreciate Wish support too. These include Conkeldurr, Mega Swampert,Cobalion, and others you can think off. Say that Sylveon fits well on balanced and bulky offensive teams that need its resistances and Wish support.

Checks and COunters: add something like residual damage, as Spikes and TSpikes really limit Sylveons ability to switch into things and not lose a ton of momentum. Klefki, Tentacruel, and Mega Beedrill can use a Sylveon that's forced to stay in to recover as a setup opportunity. Things like Stealth Rock + U-turn from Hydreigon, losing its leftovers from Weavile, and Scald burns also dig into it considerably. For the physical attackers part, specify that they can 2HKO Sylveon, and add more mentions of stuff like Conkeldurr. Remove the Psyshock mention from the Poison type section.

Overview
  • First line: Sylveon finds a solid niche in UU as a cleric as it's not as passive as Alomomola -- Not a proper comparison because Alomomola isn't a cleric, which by definition refers to the use of Heal Bell or Aromatherapy. Change it to Wish passer and then mention how it has the added benefit of having access to Heal Bell.
  • Fourth line: However, Sylveon is pretty one dimensional, as its premier Choice Specs set from the past generation has been entirely outclassed by Primarina -- rephrase the part about this regarding past generation. Don't mention past generations in current generation analyses like dodmen mentioned (it's just a rule of thumb); instead, say something like "offensively, it's outclassed....". GP is gonna remove this if you don't anyway.
  • Fifth line -- Pardon me nitpicking here, but I wouldn't call base 65 Defense terrible. Change it to mediocre perhaps.
Moves
  • I feel like the main point of Hyper Voice is so that it's not Taunt bait, and it can actually hit pretty hard without the investment like you mentioned in the overview. Telling the readers that it hits those types super effectively isn't something they need to read an analysis for. They just need to look up a typechart for that. Instead, mention specific Pokemon that Hyper Voice allows Sylveon to check like the stuff you mentioned in the overview.
Team Options
  • Move the last line to the top.
  • You mentioned Mega Swampert under offensive partners, but honestly, Swampert as a whole is such a good Sylveon partner that I'd mention it under bulky Water-types.
Checks and Counters
  • Fix your formatting; it should look like this (it's the only section that doesn't use bullet points and keeps the same formatting through write-ups.)
Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel Types**: Steel-Types like Scizor, Mega Steelix and Empoleon can switch in freely and either wall it out or KO it with a supereffective move. Scizor, however must be wary of being 2HKOed by Hidden Power Fire

**Poison-Types**: Bulky Poison-Types such as Amoonguss and Physically Defensive Tentacruel can wall Sylveon out and wear it down with their supereffective moves.

**Physical Attackers**: Due to Sylveon's poor defenses, strong physical attackers like Coballion, Mamoswine and Conkeldurr can easily 2HKO Sylveon with their attacks.

**Residual Damage**: Sylveon is very prone to being worn down by residual damage such as hazards, status conditions, and Pokémon such as Hydreigon or Scizor's U-Turn especially after rocks. In addition, common setters such as Klefki, Tentacruel, And Empoleon also use Sylveon's inability to meaningfully damage them as an opportunity to set up their hazards, thus limiting Sylveon's ability to be effective later in the game.
I'd keep the Smogon C&C Spelling and Grammar Standards open while writing this up by the way. There are a lot of simple mistakes that'd minimise the time taken for GP later on. For example, the "types" in anything like "Water-types" is never capitalised, including in checks and counters, so heads up.

Overview

* "Sylveon is held back by a mediocre 65 defense stat which leaves it 2HKOed by most physical attackers in the tier" - give examples here.
* Highlight weaknesses to common Pokemon like Mega Beedrill and Scizor.
* It's also worth noting that Sylveon also happens to lose to a few special attackers, despite its good bulk. Latias can defeat it in one on one situations if it's using both Calm Mind and Roost, and Primarina and Volcanion are both capable of 2HKOing Sylveon with their Choice Specs boosted STAB attacks.

Moves

* I think it's also worth noting here that Hyper Voice bypasses Substitute, which is useful for hitting Pokemon like Terrakion, Raikou, and Hawlucha behind the Substitutes that they can tend to set up.
* Be more specific in your Heal Bell line. Say that it heals the status conditions of Sylveon's team, as just saying it gets rid of status is a little confusing and could be incorrectly interpreted by some readers.
* I'd also say that Hidden Power Fire nails Mega Abomasnow, which may try using Soundproof in its base forme to set up on Sylveon.

Usage Tips

* Give examples of Pokemon that you say Sylveon walls in the first sentence.
* Replace your Metagross example with something that's a little more relevant, like Mega Aggron or Scizor.
* Here would be a good place to talk about being wary of powerful physical attackers, since Sylveon can't check a certain selection of them. Use Choice Band Infernape, Mamoswine, and Terrakion as examples.

Team Options

* Your sentence on bulky Water-types is way too long, and honestly is too much to process in just one sentence and doesn't flow well. Either find a way to shorten it, or separate the info into two or three different sentences (the latter is your better option).
* Don't use Tentacruel as an example in your first Water-type sentence if you go on to specifically mention it. Replace it with something like Empoleon or Swampert.
* (Also on your Water-types mention) Fire-types aren't rare, so don't refer to them as that.
* Give more examples of offensive Pokemon in your last sentence.

Other Options
* In your Psyshock sentence, say that it usually gives up space for Heal Bell or Hidden Power Fire, which are more consistently useful.

Checks and Counters
* No need to say 'Physically Defensive Tentacruel.' Just 'Tentacruel' works.
* You need to reference offensive Poison-types in the Poison-type section as well, so do that, use Nidoking and Mega Beedrill as your examples, and say that they can threaten to outspeed and OHKO Sylveon with powerful STAB moves.
* Replace your Conkeldurr example with Choice Band Infernape in the physical attackers section.

Implement all of these changes then tag me for another look over. Also, please look at the spelling and grammar standards, and use them to proofread this analysis before moving it to GP, as that'll save the people that GP check this some time later on.

Moves
========

Wish is Sylveon's only reliable recovery option, (RC) and can also heal up teammates. Protect is used to scout for foes' sets (clarification) and heal Sylveon up safely. Heal Bell gets rid of status conditions for teammates consistently, (AC) as Sylveon is often able to come in many times due to its bulk while also letting it last longer in a match due to not being worn down by status. Hidden Power Fire is used to 2HKO bulky Scizor and OHKO offensive Scizor while also nailing Mega Abomasnow, which may try to set (space) up on Sylveon due to its Soundproof ability before Mega Evolving.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP and Defense investment allows Sylveon to pass larger Wishes to its teammates, as well as better check Dragon- and Dark-types such as Mega Sceptile, Mega Altaria, and Mega Sharpedo. Leftovers gives Sylveon a form of passive recovery. Pixilate is the ability of choice, allowing it to hit as hard as possible with Hyper Voice. Pixilate is the ability of choice, allowing it to hit as hard as possible with Hyper Voice. (same sentence)

Usage Tips
========

Come in on a Pokémon Pokemon that Sylveon walls, (RC) (comma here makes it seem like part of the list) such as Mega Sceptile or Hydreigon, use Wish if you need to replenish the HP of Sylveon, or use Hyper Voice to chip down more frail switchi-ns switch-ins like Mega Beedrill if this is not the case. Be careful of when clicking Protect, however, as it could allow offensive threats such as Nidoking or Scizor to switch-(RH) in freely. One You (consistency) should avoid having Sylveon take too much damage, so use Hidden Power Fire on a predicted Scizor switch-in, not in 1v1 one-on-one situations. Lastly, Sylveon be careful not to let Sylveon take stronger physical attacks such as those from Choice Band Infernape, Mamoswine, and Terrakion due to its middling Defense stat.

Team Options
========

Sylveon generally fits on more bulky or balanced teams who that appreciate that Wish support and its useful defensive typing. Bulky Water-types such as Swampert, Mega Blastoise, and Suicune can take on Steel-types such as Mega Steelix and Klefki as well as Fire-types. In return, Sylveon takes on prominent UU Dragon-types like Mega Sceptile, Hydreigon, and Latias while also keeping them healthy with Wish, something the aforementioned bulky Water-types would struggle with due to their lack of recovery. Tentacruel, (RC) is especially good, (AC) since it resists Poison-type attacks as well as and Steel-type attacks and is especially good at keeping hazards off the field, thus alleviating pressure off Sylveon to keep itself healthy. Sylveon also likes Psychic-types such as Celebi and Latias, (AC) which can surprise Scizor with Hidden Power Fire as well as get rid of Poison Types Poison-types such as Amoonguss and Tentacruel. Steel-types such as Mega Steelix, Mega Aggron, and Scizor make good partners because they resist both of Sylveon's weaknesses, and enjoy Sylveon's ability to keep them healthy with Wish and take on Fighting-types, and can stomach most physical attacks, which is a boon for Sylveon, who which struggles due to its low Defense stat. Offensive Pokemon such as Mega Latias, Talonflame, and Cobalion like Sylveon's ability to keep them healthy as well.

Other Options
=============

A Choice Specs set is usable, (AC) but Primarina outclasses Sylveon at this role due to a its stronger STAB combination and ability to beat common Steel-types like Scizor and Cobalion. A Calm Mind set with Rest, Snore, and Hyper Voice holding a Pixie Plate can be used, but it takes too long to set up and it doesn't have the Speed nor bulk to pull it off consistently.. Psyshock can be used in place of Hidden Power Fire or Heal Bell, allowing Sylveon to OHKO or 2HKO offensive Poison-types such as Crobat, Nidoking, and Mega Beedrill, but it isn't as generally as useful as the two aforementioned moves.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Steel-types like Scizor, Mega Steelix, and Empoleon can switch in freely and either wall it out Sylveon or KO it with a super effective move. Scizor, however, must be wary of being 2HKOed by Hidden Power Fire.

**Poison-types**: Bulky Poison-types such as Amoonguss and Tentacruel can wall Sylveon and wear it down with their super effective moves.

**Physical Attackers**: Due to Sylveon's poor Defense, strong physical attackers like Choice Band Infernape, Cobalion, and Mamoswine can easily 2HKO Sylveon with their attacks.
(remove one break, keep one)
**Residual Damage**: Sylveon is very prone to being worn down by residual damage such as hazards, status conditions, and U-turn from Pokemon such as Hydreigon and Scizor, (AC) (remove (ac) but keep comma) especially after Stealth Rock. In addition, common hazard setters such as Klefki, Tentacruel, (AC) and Empoleon can take advantage of Sylveon's inability to meaningfully damage them as an opportunity to set up their hazards, thus limiting Sylveon's ability to be effective later in the game.

some of the above check wasn't fully implemented, so spo.ink/gpvideo could give you some help

[OVERVIEW]
(add line break) (unnecessary, dex doesn't care whether or not there's a line break here + looks cleaner without)
Sylveon is one of the best clerics in the tier thanks to its mono-Fairy typing allowing it to switch into strong and powerful Dark-, Dragon-, Dark-, and Fighting-type moves such as Latias and Hydreigon's Draco Meteor, Krookodile's Knock Off, and Infernape's Close Combat(remove space before period). It also has access to Wish and Heal Bell, which allows it to keep its teammates healthy throughout a match and get rid of potentially damaging status conditions. Additionally, it can take most unboosted special attacks in the tier (implied) due to its superb 95 / 130 (dex info) (eh that rule is against entire noninformative sentences like "Sylveon has great 95 / 130 special bulk" the end, it's really not harmful in cases like this) special bulk and can retaliate with a strong Pixilate-(AH)boosted Hyper Voice. However, some special attackers such as Volcanion and Primarina can 2HKO Sylveon, (RC) in spite of its bulk. Latias in particular can beat Sylveon with a combination of Calm Mind and Roost. Sylveon is further held back by its mediocre base 65 Defense stat(remove space), (space) which leaves it means it is (leaves it is fine imo) 2HKOed by some physical attackers in the tier, such as Terrakion and Choice Band Infernape and Terrakion (don't implement if terrakion is also banded), even with maximum investment. Furthermore, it also has weaknessses weaknesses to common Poison- and Steel-type moves in the tier like Poison-type and Steel-type attacks such as from the likes of Scizor and Mega Beedrill. It also faces competition from Florges, (AC) which trades a lower Defense stat and weaker attacks for more Speed and access to a one-turn recovery move.
