[OVERVIEW]

* Qwilfish's niche resides in its ability to be an excellent hazard setter that can be added to a multitude of archetypes, as it has access to both Spikes and Toxic Spikes, while being one of the only viable users of them in the tier with Garbordor.
* It has access to an excellent ability, Intimidate, and has a good typing, allowing it to check threats such as Hitmonlee, Machamp, and Sneasel, and can soft check threats such as Emboar and Virizion.
* It has access to good utility moves in Taunt, Scald, Toxic Spikes, and Pain Split, making a good answer to Defensive walls and allowing to spread burn with Scald and poison with Toxic Spikes while preventing recovery with Taunt.
* Unfortunaly it lacks recovery outside of Pain Split, and doesn't have much options to damage foes outside of Scald, making it really passive against some Pokemon.
* It has a lackluster Special Defense stat, making it easily overwhelmed by special attackers such as Sceptile, Cofagrigus, Houndoom, and Vivillion.
* Due to its common weaknesses, Qwilfish has a plenty of checks and counters in the tier, namely Xatu, Slowking, Rotom-C, Delphox, and Seismitoad.
* It is outclassed by Spikes users such as Froslass, Garbordor, and Accelgor, as they are able to beat Xatu and don't lack offensive presence.

[SET]

move 3: Scald
move 4: Toxic Spikes / Pain Split
item: Black Sludge
ability: Intimidate
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 132 Def / 120 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Spikes is the best option as hazards for Qwilfish, as it wear down grounded Pokemon as well as weakening defensive walls well.
* Taunt shut down defensive Pokemon such as Jellicent, Golbat, Aromatisse, and Vaporeon, allowing it to set hazard freely.
* Scald is a very consistent STAB move with a 30% chance to burn the opposing Pokemon.
* Toxic Spikes cripples foes with Poison, giving it a decent utility against many playstyles and archetypes, unfortunaly Poison-types such as Garbodor, Drapion, and Toxicroak are very present.
* Pain Split is used to maintain Qwilfish's longevity.

Set Details
========

* Maximum EV investment in HP and 132 EVs Defense coupled with a Bold nature are used so that Qwilfish can tank as many physical attacks as possible.
* 120 Speed allows Qwilfish to outspeed and Taunt Barbaracle and common Golbat set, to unable them to set up or clean hazards.
* Black Sludge provides Qwilfish with a source of passive recovery.
* Intimidate is Qwilfish's best ability and lowers opposing Pokemon attack on the switch, making able to check some physical attackers such as Hitmonlee and Sneasel.
* Rocky Helmet inflicts chip damage, which discourages physical attackers in general and spinners from removing entry hazards unless they want to take a lot of recoil damage, but it makes Qwilfish lacking passive recovery from Leftovers.

Usage Tips
========

* Qwilfish can be used to pivot into the likes of Hitmonlee, Garbordor, Aromatisse, Golbat, and Sneasel thanks to its defensive abilities.
* It can also be used to absorb Toxic Spikes.
* Use it to prevent Pokemon such as Golbat from cleaning up hazards and hazard setters such as Garbordor with Taunt.
* Avoid Knock Off and burn, as it disable Leftovers recovery, and it is its only way to recover outside of Pain Split, also avoid paralysis, as it cripples it.
* Set up Toxic Spikes and Spikes against Fighting-types such as Machamp and Hitmonlee, and Poison-types such as Garbordor and Toxicroak.
* Be careful when facing a Xatu, the best play against it is to double into your Xatu check, think twice before using Toxic Spikes or Spikes when you see a Xatu on the opposing team.

Team Options
========

* Sneasel and Spiritomb can deal with most of the Psychic-types in the tier with Pursuit, especially Xatu, as it can bounce back qwilfish hazard
* Sceptile, Virizion and Rotom-c deal with most Ground-types while being able to soft check others Rotom-C and really appreciates Qwilfish's backup with Spikes, and ability to check Poison-types.
* Choice Scarf Emboar is a decent teammate that can check and beat a plenty of threats, such as Houndoom, non-Choice Scarf Rotom-C, and Cryogonal, but be careful, it shares a weakness to Ground-types, Slowbro, and Slowking with Qwilfish.
* Aromatisse and Mega Audino can wish pass to Qwilfish while providing Cleric support, they also appreciate Qwilfish's ability to check most Poison-types in the tier.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Haze can be used to check setup sweepers such as Barbaracle, Calm Mind Mega Audino, and Swords Dance Samurott.
* A set with Rain Dance can be used, with Rain Dance, Spikes, Scald, Taunt, and the Damp Rock, and 120 EVs in Speed to outspeed Golbat and Barbaracle.
* Toxic can be used to cripple non-grounded mons such as Cryogonal and Rotom-C.
* Thunder Wave can be used to cripple fast threats such as Delphox and Sceptile, be it doesn't work well in conjunction with Toxic Spikes.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Psychic-types**: Almost any of them threaten Qwilfish hugely, Xatu bounces back Qwilfish's hazards and Taunt, doesn't mind Scald, and can proceed to set up or deal huge damage with Psychic, Slowking and Slowbro don't mind Scald and can pivot into it or retaliate with Psychic STAB, althrough they don't like coming into Toxic Spikes. Meloetta outspeeds Qwilfish and can set a Substitute on it or force it out. Other Psychic-types such as Delphox and Medicham threaten it with their STAB move.

**Electric-types**: Rotom-C, Rotom, Raichu, and Vikavolt OKHO Qwilfish with their Electric-type attacks and can get momentum with Volt Switch when they force Qwilfish out.

**Ground-types**: Althrought most of them can't switch into Scald, Qwilfish is threatened the likes of Seimsmitoad, Rhydon, and Steelix, but can still pull throught the last two with Scald and Intimidate drop

**Special Wallbreakers**: Special Wallbreakers such as Houndoom, Cofagrigus, and Sceptile can break throught Qwilfish average special defense with their sheer power.

ok this has been sitting long enough lol. comments in bold
[OVERVIEW]

* Qwilfish's niche resides in its ability to be an excellent hazard setter in Offensive teams, as it has access to both Spikes and Toxic Spikes, while being one of the only viable users of them in the tier. I wouldn't say qwil only fits well on offensive teams. it's unique over garb cause it can fit on a lot of different team archetypes.
* It has access to an excellent ability, Intimidate, and has a good typing, allowing it to check threats such as Hitmonlee, Machamp, and Sneasel, and can soft check threats such as Emboar and Virizion.
* It has access to good utility moves in Taunt, Scald, and Pain Split, making a good answer to Defensive walls and allowing to spread status while preventing recovery. maybe a bit of a nitpick here, but it might help to clarify how it spreads status through Scald and Toxic Spikes since you only list one of the two in this point but are nondescript about the type of status you spread.
* Due to its common weaknesses, Qwilfish has a plenty of checks and counters in the tier, namely Xatu, Meloetta, Slowking, Toxicroak, Rotom-C, Delphox, adn Seismitoad.
make sure to mention here that it is outperformed as a spiker by other setters because it has no offensive presence to speak of.

nowadays I wouldn't run qwil without speed. 120 Speed is pretty important to outspeed and taunt barbaracle and speed tie the most common golbat spread that hits that benchmark for the same reason

mention rocky helmet here too. it helps qwil rack up damage as it switches into fighters that it otherwise can struggle to damage and obviously mention how the lack of passive recovery can hurt

obv don't forget to mention the speed change here
Usage Tips
========

* Qwilfish can be used to pivot into the likes of Hitmonlee, Garbordor, Aromatisse, Golbat, and Sneasel thanks to its defensive abilities.
* It can also be used to absord Toxic Spikes.

talk about when it is appropriate for qwil to set spikes since that is the only reason you are using it. xatu hard counters it, you set up on opposing garbodors/poison types/fighters etc
Team Options
========

* Sneasel, Drapion, and Spiritomb can deal with most of the Psychic-types in the tier with Pursuit. remove drap mention and mention xatu specifically as a target here because of how it prevents qwil from setting spikes
* Sceptile, Virizion and Rotom-c deal with most Ground-types while being able to soft check others Rotom-C and really appreciates Qwilfish's backup with Spikes, and ability to check Poison-types.

* Aromatisse can wish pass to Qwilfish while providing Cleric support. mention mdino here too and how they appreciate qwil shitting on opposing poisons

Other Options
=============

* Suicide Lead set with Taunt and Destiny Bond, max speed / sash I would never use this over froslass
* Haze
* Icy Wind this seems like shit
* Rain Dance I like this set so write out what the moves and ev's and such are
* Toxic
* Thunder Wave

(ideas for qc, please approuve or deny when checking)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Psychic-types**: Almost any of them threaten Qwilfish hugely, Xatu bounces back Qwilfish's hazards and Taunt, doesn't mind Scald, and can proceed to set up or deal huge damage with Psyshock Psychic*, Slowking and Slowbro don't mind Scald and can pivot into it or retaliate with Psychic STAB, althrough they don't like coming into Toxic Spikes. 1/3 good work

Jesus this has been sitting awhile. Hopefully we can get this thing finished before 2018 ends.

* It has access to an excellent ability, Intimidate, and has a good typing, allowing it to check threats such as Hitmonlee, Machamp, and Sneasel, and can soft check threats such as Emboar and Virizion.
Use a more relevant example then Machamp. Emboar and Virizion are no longer NU so they should be cut.

* Unfortunaly it lacks recovery outside of Pain Split, and doesn't have much options to damage foes outside of Scald, making it really passive against some Pokemon.
Add Black Sludge adds a small bit of recovery, and given its listed on the set as the primary item it should probably be put in there.

* It has a lackluster Special Defense stat, making it easily overwhelmed by special attackers such as Sceptile, Cofagrigus, Houndoom, and Vivillion.
Cofagrigus is no longer NU

* Due to its common weaknesses, Qwilfish has a plenty of checks and counters in the tier, namely Xatu, Slowking, Rotom-C, Delphox, and Seismitoad.
Rotom-c and Seismitoad are no longer NU

* It is outclassed by Spikes users such as Froslass, Garbordor, and Accelgor, as they are able to beat Xatu and don't lack offensive presence.
Say they out class it as an offensive spiker. Qwilfish offers a lot of defensive merit so things like Accelgor don't totally out class it.

* Toxic Spikes cripples foes with Poison, giving it a decent utility against many playstyles and archetypes, unfortunaly Poison-types such as Garbodor, Drapion, and Toxicroak are very present.
Drapion is no longer NU.

* 120 Speed allows Qwilfish to outspeed and Taunt Barbaracle and common Golbat set, to unable them to set up or clean hazards.
Barb is no longer NU. You should also change the set to run 124 speed Timid to out pace base 80's.

* Rocky Helmet inflicts chip damage, which discourages physical attackers in general and spinners from removing entry hazards unless they want to take a lot of recoil damage, but it makes Qwilfish lacking passive recovery from Leftovers.
Rocky Helmet should be slashed after Black Sludge, its currently not listed on the set.

* Set up Toxic Spikes and Spikes against Fighting-types such as Machamp and Hitmonlee, and Poison-types such as Garbordor and Toxicroak.
Sure a more relevant example then Machamp again.

Virzion, Rotom-c, and Emboar are no longer NU so this should be revamped with more relevant examples.

* Haze can be used to check setup sweepers such as Barbaracle, Calm Mind Mega Audino, and Swords Dance Samurott.
Barb isn't NU and SD Samurott isn't really relevant anymore. Use more relevant examples

Drop the Rain Dance set and replace it with SD Explosion as +2 explosion ohkos Slowbro which can help other team mates that needs Slowbro gone.
Rotom-C isn't nu

Rotom-C, Cofagrigus, and Seismitoad aren't NU anymore. Also use more relevant examples then things like Raichu.

Make these changes and I'll give it QC Check 2/3!
