Roselia is the only one that resists Grass and isn't weak to Rocks, with added bonuses of absorbing Toxic Spikes, setting up its own Spikes, being a 4x grass resist, and generally being a cool mon that hasn't really seen much use so far this generation.

Voting Taskr for creativity, originality, and practicality.

By a landslide vote Taskr wins, so congratulations man!

So I thought I'd look at a really cool pivot that finally has a chance to shine in the tier in Primeape! Access to U-turn along decent coverage such as EdgeQuake and Gunk Shot, and of course its powerful STAB Close Combat, makes it a valuable tool in the meta. It's also arguably one of the best users of Choice Scarf.

Primeape @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge

You have until Sunday as usual to submit a match!

Reserving Skuntank.

Skuntank @ Black Sludge
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Defog
- Pursuit
- Poison Jab
- Sucker Punch

Skuntank is able to pursuit trap common Psychic & Ghost types that stop Primeape from spamming Close Combat.

Mesprit @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
- Ice Beam
- U-turn

U-Turn cores are always cool, but U-turn cores with good offensive and defensive synergy are fantastic. Mesprit with Specs can nuke a lot of Primeape's primary counters, like Weezing, and soften up the team in general for a potential sweep. Mesprit also can take some of the Psychic and Mach Punches directed towards a Primeape (especially after a CC). The addition of U-Turn should also be pretty easy to understand: one U-turns to the other and keeps the offensive pressure up. Primeape also helps Mesprit too by taking some Dark hits and beating a lot of Steels and Dark threats that Mesprit can potentially be stopped by. As a final note: Since Primeape resists Stealth Rock and Mesprit avoids Spikes, this U-Turn core has a lot of longevity in comparison to others.

Good partner, yeah.

Pinsir @ Lum Berry
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- X-Scissor
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge

Primeape really appreciates Pinsir's ability to wallbreak and beat common Primeape switch ins such as Sableye, Weezing and Musharna.

Raichu-Alola @ Life Orb
Ability: Surge Surfer
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Psyshock
- Grass Knot

Aloraichu scares off Flying types, bulky Poison types and strong Fighting types that can break through Primeape. It has a notably good matchup at +2 versus Weezing, Gastrodon and Gurdurr, all of which have a very good matchup versus Primeape. Its solid speed tier is desirable for HO teams, something in which Primeape also excels at.

Aggron
Primeape discourages Skuntank and other Defog users from removing Aggron's Stealth Rock thanks to Defiant, while Aggron can tank hits for Primeape and deal heavy damage to the physical walls that Primeape hates. Primeape also appreciates Stealth Rock chipping away at the opposing team.

Aggron @ Lum Berry
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Head Smash
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock

Raticate-Alola @ Darkinium Z
Ability: Hustle
Happiness: 0
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Facade
- Frustration
- Crunch
- Swords Dance / U-turn

Fat Rat is a really cool partner for Primeape since they can both work together to achieve common goals and beat each other's checks. As a pivot that can force switches (usually into Pokemon like Mesprit and Musharna), Primeape works very well with the potential wallbreaking power of Raticate-Alola. Basically, Raticate can blow up mons like Musharna and help break things such as Regirock (since it can beat primeape 1v1 with counter). Pretty cool type matching and fun mons!!
