We're updating the format for Monotype Analyses a bit. This update makes it easier on writers and keeps our dex pages from having too much redundant information.

For 'mons that use the same set on both types (e.g. Belly Drum Azumarill), they will only get type-specific Usage Tips and Team Options. The Set Details and Moves will be the same. Here's an example template:

[SET]
name: Belly Drum (Fairy / Water)
move 1: Belly Drum
move 2: Aqua Jet
move 3: Play Rough
move 4: Knock Off / Superpower
item: Sitrus Berry
ability: Huge Power
nature: Adamant
evs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe

The QC team have had to reject a couple analyses recently. To help improve the quality of our analyses, we wrote up a quick list of things you should consider in each section of your analysis.

This is not a template. Don't treat it like one!
The lists are not comprehensive, you will need to include things not on these lists.
Every bullet point will not be in every analysis.

special thanks should go to iVid for initiating this and writing most of it up.

I am exceptionally excited to announce Eien will join me as the Co-Leader of Monotype C&C for Gen 7 (and the last couple days of Gen 6)! Anyone that has seen his work around here knows it is well-earned. Congrats mate!

We're going to be changing the formatting for Monotype analyses. The existing formatting is semantically incorrect in terms of its HTML and we'll be changing to the below format provided by The Dutch Plumberjack:

[OVERVIEW]

Type One
========

Generalize what the Pokemon does in the metagame and as a whole and why you should or shouldn't consider using it on your teams.

Type Two
========

Generalize what the Pokemon does in the metagame and as a whole and why you should or shouldn't consider using it on your teams.

[SET]
name: Barack Aboma (Grass / Swords Dance)
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Wood Hammer / Seed Bomb
move 3: Ice Shard
move 4: Earthquake
item: Abomasite
ability: Soundproof
nature: Adamant
evs: 76 HP / 252 Atk / 180 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Describe what the moves on the set do.

Set Details
========

Describe the other aspects of the set such as what the EVs do and nature/item.

Usage Tips
========

Describe how to use the Pokemon in question.

Team Options
========

Describe some teammates that would be a good idea to pair with this Pokemon.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Type One
--------
List some options for the Pokemon user that are plausible but not always recommended due to being either not consistent enough or too outclassed by other Pokemon in the metagame.

Type Two
--------
List some options for the Pokemon user that are plausible but not always recommended due to being either not consistent enough or too outclassed by other Pokemon in the metagame.

Checks and Counters
===================

Type One
--------
**Insert Threat Here**: Describe why the Pokemon is a threat.

Type Two
--------
**Insert Threat Here**: Describe why the Pokemon is a threat.

Writers of current analyses can implement this formatting if they like, but we will change them to this when we upload regardless and will continue to use this format during Gen 7.
