The Goomy

Whitest Mexican Alive
Contacted Raseri this morning.

Have been looking forward to this tour for quite a while and seeing the teams now makes me excited cause all the teams are super good this year and I think it's gonna be a fun, competitive tournament.

Let's go Lilligants. :]

Vibrant Vivillons (3) vs Rowdy Rampardos (5)
SM1: TDK vs BOUFF - Probably has more experience in tiers like SM NU
SM2: Eternally vs Evan. - Even though Evan is a cocky s.o.b. he is good and should win this game
SM3: Gunner Rohan vs -Tsunami- - There is no Roar Riolu in this tier....but in all seriousness it'll be interesting to see how much time/effort shake puts into building for this tour.
ORAS: qsns vs Pokedots - qsns has more experience
BW2: Void vs Zebraiken - One of the scariest BW2 NU players of all time, hopefully he builds instead of using old teams
DPP: idiotfrommars vs M Dragon - This one really can go either way, both players are insanely good, but ifm has been on tilt.
ADV: Pearl vs Heysup - Both are amazing, but I feel like Pearl will squeak this out.
Bo3: rozes vs Level 56 (SM/BW) - Probably has better teambuilding help and such from his team to succeed in tiers not as comfortable in.

The Krusty Krabs (6) vs The Superior Samurotts (2)
SM1: Hootie vs AJB - The fact that this is a matchup is hilarious, Hootie is less prone to choking this one imo.
SM2: Kiyo vs Jarii - Kiyo is quite good when he cares and I know he really likes SM NU and wants to win this tournament again
SM3: Lax vs fatty - Coming off the back of his teammates who can help him prep, I think the Krabs sweep SM
ORAS: Tangelo vs shaneghoul - Definitely an upset if it happens. I think the fact that shane's style is more known is an advantage for tangy as a new person to NU tours
BW2: ZoroDark vs rob. - rob is very good
DPP: Bughouse vs Honko - Bughouse really wants to prove themselves in this tour and this is a great chance to
ADV: Oglemi vs Disjunction - Disjunction really wants to play this tier and will win because of it.
Bo3: Finchinator (SM/ORAS) vs col49 - More well versed in SM/ORAS and it's a tossup in BW

Headass Houndooms (5) vs Plopping Pelippers (3)
SM1: blunder vs Teddeh - blunder will bring broken mons and win, Teddeh for 7k is asinine though and the managers will probably regret not making tennis pay more for him
SM2: Poek vs Tony - Good builder, methodical player. Will probably have a better grasp of meta (in week 1) than Poek does (in week 1)
SM3: KratosMana vs PrinceLucian - Anti with FLCL building....yeah.
ORAS: Lednah vs Christo - Underrated, solid NU player who definitely is a great teammate in team tours.
BW2: ict vs Dangerous - I don't think I've ever seen ict lose a game and rik will need a few weeks to knock off the rust with Tony and then he will be very solid.
DPP: SOMALIA vs amber lamps - Probably the best DPPer in the tour
ADV: Hogg vs Sam - This is a crazy fun matchup. I think Hogg will pull it out though.
Bo3: FLCL (SM/BW) vs ADVANTAGE - I personally don't think tennis stands a chance in BW, so he has to prep his ass off in SM and ORAS, but FLCL is definitely good enough to pull 1 of those games off. Probably the closest of the Bo3 sets and if tennis can win BW he's won the set for sure.

My Quick Team Power Rankings (Excluding ourselves)
1. Houndooms
2. Pelippers
3. Musharna
4. Krabs
5. Rampardos
6. Vivillons
7. Samurotts

All of the teams this year are actually really good and I legitimately think every team has a chance to win the whole tournament, no team stands out as significantly better than any other, so let's have a good time and not fish for activity wins this season!

Tiering Lead
gonna post some predicts bc i know they are fun for other people to read and figured since i have a few mins why not. hope more ppl post them as well though n_n
The Krusty Krabs vs The Superior Samurotts
SM1: Hootie 55-45 AJB - this is fairly close but hootie's pricetag as the most expensive player this nupl better be shown in this game.
SM2: Kiyo 55-45 Jarii - kiyo may be a terrible auction manager and upbids all my players but he'll probably win this mu since he has a lot more time atm to build and play. jarii is not one to be slept on though so he can probably take the game as well. should be a fun 1 to watch.
SM3: Lax 65-35 fatty - i havent seen fatty play any sm tiers aside from lc & lax has been playing a ton of smnu so this should be pretty favorable to him.
ORAS: Tangelo 45-55 Shaneghoul - probably the best oras game this week to watch, both very good players, both very creative, and both are fun to watch play. i hope some heat is brought from both players to keep things interesting. should be a fun 1 to watch live.
BW2: ZoroDark 60-40 rob. - probably one of the best steals in auction, zoro in bw is a huge threat especially if he has solid teams which finch can pass him. i expect him to end w/ probably the best or second best record similar to bugz last year.
DPP: Bughouse 55-45 Honko - idr know both players but bughouse was complaining about how he had a good record 2 years ago and wasnt bought last year so he better back it up here.
ADV: Oglemi 40-60 Disjunction - oglemis pretty dead and disjunction will probably tryhard so this should be fairly one sided depending on how much prep disjunction puts in.
Bo3: Finchinator [SM] 45-56 col49 [ORAS / BW] - love finch but col is a great player in the bo3 slot if he has the time to build on his own. combination of solid teams, play, and a good amount of creativity makes him deadly in slots like this as even if he drops one tier hes just generally solid across all three. really wanna catch this 1 live as well.

Headass Houndooms vs Plopping Pelippers
SM1: blunder 60-40 Teddeh - blunders been on the sm grind and has to have a good showing now before he topples kiyo as a future nu tier leader...
SM2: Poek 51-49 Tony - super close mu, poeks been playing a bit of sm since its been dropped and tony hasnt really touched the tier which makes me give him the edge in this mu.
SM3: KratosMana 55-45 PrinceLucian - havent seen lucian play sm & anti is solid af if he decides to play and not bring a meme team
ORAS: Lednah 40-60 Christo - havent seen a lot of lednah in oras & christo is solid all around so this should be a pretty easy win for him
BW2: ict 55-45 Dangerous - havent seen dangerous play bw and if you are taking GRAND SLAM CHAMPION ICT and moving him to bw he better bring in those wins...
DPP: SOMALIA 55-45 amber lamps - SOMALIA seems solid & if he gives a shit about this tour i think he can easily take this as easily as he could crush all the bones in my body
ADV: Hogg 55-45 Sam - past uutls do battle in advnu & only one can reign supreme, think hogg takes this bc ive seen him play lower gen adv tiers a lot more than ive seen sam play them, though he did go 3-1 last nupl so it should be decently close
Bo3: FLCL [ORAS / BW] 60-40 ADVANTAGE [SM] - fooly probably the best person to play in the bo3 slot in the tour since he can easily take sm much easier than i think tennis can take either oras or bw. bw here should be fairly one sided in favor of fooly, tennis will prob bring some whack stall in sm, and then fooly brings a solid oras team and wins. should be a good series to watch though.

Money Maker Musharnas vs Listless Lilligants
SM1: Realistic Waters 60-40 dodmen - waters is probably one of the best current gen nu players around and i think dodmens lack of experience will cost him here. lack of a solid teambuilder on lilligants will also hurt a lot as he'll either have to make his own team or scrap something together w/ his teammates.
SM2: meepsvictory 70-30 Zamrock - same as above but zamrocks probably even more lost than dodmen when it comes to building & playing. meeps is solid as fuck and should win this pretty easily with a level 95 cofagrigus.
SM3: HJAD 55-45 Sacri' - havent seen much of either in sm, but i would give the edge to HJAD since ive seen him play it more. i think i would have switched sacri and rapture, but this combo should do fine.
ORAS: Blast 60-40 Shadowtags - blast has a lot more experience & idk how much either have been playing recently so im going to give him the edge here
BW2: NotNova 40-60 soulgazer - sg will bring some random garb spikes shit and win, havent seen a lot of nova in bw
DPP: The Real Elmo 45-55 Tricking - i think getting tricking for such a high price and putting him in dpp over bo3 is a waste, and i havent seen elmo play ever so im still going to give tricking the edge here. would like to see if they could find a way to put tricking in bo3 later on though bc i feel similar to 49 / level 56 hes generally solid in bo3 slots.
ADV: Megazard 40-60 Kushalos - kush aka the king of metagames nobody plays should win this pretty easily since ive never seen megazard play adv
Bo3: Raseri [BW] 50-50 The Goomy [SM] - raseri takes bw, goomy takes sm cant really tell who would win oras
ill post my own thoughts on the draft / rankings in the other thread once i get a bit more time but this seems to be a pretty fun nupl. gl everyone n_n

looking forward to a fun season with raseri & co, definitely have fantastic teammates and our line-up is super strong. i made predictions for the other 6 teams in rozes' format so enjoy!
Vibrant Vivillons vs Rowdy Rampardos
SM1: TDK 60-40 BOUFF - TDKs ability to pick up new lower tiers really fast and get teambuilding under control (see: uupl) will put give him a big advantage, because bouff has nothing to scout from him and has no idea what to expect. could go either way depending on what bouff brings and if he's not sleepy during the battle
SM2: Eternally 45-55 Evan. - eternally needs to prove himself with that pricetag on his head, but i think the pressure will get to him. he hasnt played a serious tour game in a while and needs some time to get back on the grind. he's a good builder though, so that could put it in for him. overall i think evan's got a better grasp on SM NU which will put him up in the first week.
SM3: Gunner Rohan 35-65 -Tsunami- - the vivillons lack of SM builders really puts ggunners' potential to waste i feel. rozes and eternally will be the main SM builders in the first couple of weeks while TDK gets the builder under control, but i think shake will bring his own team or use some standard bouff squad that he's comfortable with and win without too much trouble.
ORAS: qsns 60-40 Pokedots - qsns has way more oras nu tour experience and the last time i've seen pokedots actively play was in NUL 2 i think. hoping for a strong comeback on his side though.
BW2: Void 30-70 Zebraiken - one of the best bw nu players ever. should win pretty easily, although void is not one to count out completely.
DPP: idiotfrommars 55-45 M Dragon - HODOR. i dont know too much about dpp and how these guys play in them but ifm has a lot of dpp nu teams to his disposal from last year and he'll probably end up copping a win. not too sure how familiar m dragon is with dpp but he's a really good old gens player overall so it should be a good battle.
ADV: Pearl 40-60 Heysup - heysup's showing last year was amazing and i hope he can do it again this year. really really good old gens pick, smart choice evan. i dont think pearl is that familiar with adv nu but i think he knows adv mechanics pretty well so it shouldnt be a walk in the park for heysup.
Bo3: rozes [SM, BW] 55-45 Level 56 [ORAS] - really really good matchup. definitely one to look out for this week. i think level 56 has the edge in oras because of the teams he has available to him who are all really really solid, and rozes i think has to shrug off some oras dust first, since he's been playing a lot of different tiers besides and hasnt touched oras nu in a while. hoping for a really good series here and maybe the highlight of the week even.

The Krusty Krabs vs The Superior Samurotts
SM1: Hootie 60-40 AJB - even though ajb is very determined to play sm nu, i think hootie's gonna perform very well this nupl, like cmon, he kinda has to.. being the highest priced player puts a lot of pressure on and i think hootie will bring a stronger squad and win via matchup, while also playing a bit better.
SM2: Kiyo 65-35 Jarii - i think kiyo is a top 3 sm nu player and a stronger builder than jarii is, while also having team support from other great nu builders who can help him out. jarii has a very notable style that he struggles to shift away from. i think kiyo will easily take advantage (heh) of that and counterstyle jarii a bit. Jarii's gonna try to step out of his comfort zone but fail and go back to his old building style in later weeks.
SM3: Lax 70-30 fatty - i havent seen fatty play sm nu at all and he'll probably get a team passed to him by disj or ajb, but lax has both building and playing experience in sm nu which wil favor him notably. wouldnt be surprised to see fatty pull this off though, if he gets a good matchup i could definitely see him take it.
ORAS: Tangelo 50-50 Shaneghoul - steve tangelo is an absolute beast at oras nu and shane is a bit rusty, but i think the same goes for tangy. this could really go either way, depending on team matchup and preperation. should be a good match.
BW2: ZoroDark 40-60 rob. - rob is one of the few active bw2 players and i expect a good showing from him this season. zorodark is good at bw too though so this should be fun. predicting some cool sets from zorodark with the help of his old-gen teammates.
DPP: Bughouse 42-58 Honko - honko is rusty but he's got this tier under control. im not sure if i can say the same about bughouse, he seems a little overconfident to me but i hope i can see him do well since he seems nice
ADV: Oglemi 55-45 Disjunction - if oglemi shows up for his match, i expect him to be on his a-game. i dont see him preparing much for the battle tho which might favor disj, although idk how much prep-work you can really do in adv
Bo3: Finchinator [SM, ORAS] 52-48 [BW] col49 - i feel like finch is on top of his game and is ready to rock. so is 49 tho, glad to see him active. i think 49 will prep better especially in bw and oras, but i dont see finch losing sm without getting haxed. oras should be a close one though, and 49 is going to have to be on his a-game to secure the bw game.

Headass Houndooms vs Plopping Pelippers
SM1: blunder 60-40 Teddeh - im quite impressed with blunders sm nu performance in sm nu so far and i havent seen much from teddeh besides some drama in the auction. should be a good battle.
SM2: Poek 58-42 Tony - flcl put a lot of money on this guy and poek is very good overall, so im expecting a solid showing of him. he has good building teammates, better than tennis' team, and i think poek is just a little more skilled and easily adaptive to a new metagame than tony.
SM3: KratosMana 65-35 PrinceLucian - anti is a veteran who will play well with any team he gets passed, and lucianvega doesnt know how to play in team tours like these, since he's only really used to ladder battling.
ORAS: Lednah 50-50 Christo - dont know much about either players' capacity in oras nu, although christo played decently last year. he doesnt have the advantage of being able to innovate much with completely new playstyles since the tier is no longer active but i think both will put up a strong showing.
BW2: ict 70-30 Dangerous - i dont know much about dangerous but i do know that king leon is the best nu player ever and with teams supplied by flcl he'll be more than fine to win.
DPP: SOMALIA 40-60 amber lamps - amber lamps is really good at lower tiers in general, and is always very motivated. i dont see the same with somalia although he's a long-time vet and is already at a very high skill level, so i wouldnt count him out completely.
ADV: Hogg 63-37 Sam - hogg seems to be the king of adv lower tiers and he's had a very good showing in uupl. if he builds / gets solid teams and plan out his way to victory, he'll get there eventually. havent seen sam play much at all so i'd assume he's a bit rusty.
Bo3: FLCL [BW, ORAS] 70-30 [SM] ADVANTAGE - tennis has something to prove this first week but i doubt it's gonna happen. fooly will definitely win bw2 since i think neither tennis or his teammates have enough bw depth to counterstyle him effectively enough, and then its either oras or sm thats up for grabs. i can see oras being very very close and im definitely looking forward to that, but fooly has been playing and building SM NU too and he's definitely on his game.

Vibrant Vivillons vs Rowdy Rampardos
SM1: TDK 55-45 BOUFF - TDK has always been a really solid player. I see this being a close match but I think TDKs support is a little bit stronger for week one
SM2: Eternally 40-60 Evan. - Eternally has a lot to live up to considering the price he went for. rozes puts a lot of trust into him but hes relatively unproven in tournament play. Evan. should be able to handle him.
SM3: Gunner Rohan 40-60 -Tsunami- - shake, despite his weird teams, is quite a reliable player. Gunner has a decent chance of getting the win here, but he needs to be playing at his peak.
ORAS: qsns 55-45 Pokedots - Pokedots is a solid player in ORAS, but I can see him being pretty rusty week one. qsns has some pretty good support from his team to be able to handle Pokedots. However considering dots previous experience in ORAS, this is a close matchup.
BW2: Void 40-60 Zebraiken - zeb is a god. 40% chance he gets haxed
DPP: idiotfrommars 60-40 vs M Dragon - I think IFM actually plays this tier. idk how motivated M Dragon is going to be. If he really wants the win he can do it though.
ADV: Pearl 50-50 Heysup - really hard to predict this one. Both are good players and ADV is unrefined compared to other metas. Whoever uses their huntail better will win
Bo3: rozes 60-40 Level 56 - If thats the level of Cofagrigus hes going to bring I can see this being swapped. Overall rozes is a solid NU player in both SM and ORAS. The meta experience will be the difference maker here.

The Krusty Krabs vs The Superior Samurotts
SM1: Hootie 40-60 AJB - Hootie is a good player, but hes not a 20.5k player. AJB has shown consistent results all over the place. Hootie has a chance here, but he will need to come up with something that catches AJB completely off guard. Standard play won't be enough to beat him.
SM2: Kiyo 60-40 Jarii - The same as above. Kiyo is the more consistent player so its going to be on Jarii to look for the upset. Force Kiyo out of his comfort zone if you want the win.
SM3: Lax 65-35 fatty - I havent seen fatty play much SM at all. Lax has been playing the tier a lot and is a good overall player. fatty will need to pull a big upset here.
ORAS: Tangelo 45-55 Shaneghoul - I would love to see tangy do something crazy here, but Shane is just a really good player. Shane sometimes brings really weird things so if tangy can capitalize on that he can win.
BW2: ZoroDark 49-51 rob. - Closest matchup imo. Giving rob. the slight edge cause hes clutch. This could go either way.
DPP: Bughouse 45-55 Honko - Both are good DPP NUers, giving Honko the slight edge cause I like his teams more. But this is another really close matchup
ADV: Oglemi 45-55 Disjunction - Disjunction is gonna innovate something and take down the Oglemonster. I'm feeling it.
Bo3: Finchinator 60-40 col49 - as much as I want finch to burn he has shown he can beat anyone but me. col49 will be to busy watching weird anime to prep for the fink.

Headass Houndooms vs Plopping Pelippers
SM1: blunder 45-55 Teddeh - Teddeh hate is popular lately, but hes still a good player. blunder has some support in the back but Teddehs support is top notch if he chooses to accept it.
SM2: Poek 55-45 Tony - Havent seen either of them SM NU but Poek has been doing great in the tour scene lately. Tour players > youtubers
SM3: KratosMana 55-45 PrinceLucian - Havent seen much of Lucian this gen, so I think anti's great overall pokemon skills can pull off the win
ORAS: Lednah ??-?? Christo - I know like nothing about Lednah cause I've been away from smogon for too long. I know Christo though so predicting him
BW2: ict 60-40 Dangerous - this man won grand slam without being caught cheating. That's an achievement nowadays
DPP: SOMALIA 60-40 amber lamps - No Jellicent should give Somalia a chance. amber lamps plays a solid DPP but idk if hes a good enough all around player.
ADV: Hogg vs Sam - In the battle of UUTLs, I think Sam is the better ADV player. He had a very good record last year and plays at a high level.
Bo3: FLCL 60-40 ADVANTAGE - Main reason I'm not comfortable predicting Advantage is BW2. FLCL has a large chance of winning in BW, so Advantage needs to win both ORAS and SM. He has a decent chance of taking them, but taking both is going to be hard

lost with unfortunate luck, getting FPed on a super crucial turn, but then I suppose the paralysis in the first place was protecting me from toxic... never know how the game would have turned out otherwise. so I guess gg.

I approve of Honko using a sub toxic charizard lead. I'm a fan of the set and used it 3 years ago against Oglemi in a win.

Hey everyone!

One of my favorite parts of team tournaments and NUPL in general is getting to watch other people play.

As such, I made a Google Doc for people to put their scheduled times into: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1h2hduXEIPdShyqEhI_pk03lVXRb8xL3iQT-71rFsRIM/edit?usp=sharing

I'd really appreciate it if people would use it so that everyone can watch these games and make them even more exciting.

Here's what the Google Doc looks like:

Quite Quiet I'd appreciate if you put this in the intro post for each week as well as a reminder for people to put in their matches when they schedule.

Thanks everyone!
