[OVERVIEW]

Mega Diancie is a dangerous wallbreaker that is a boon for offensive teams due to its high-Base Power STAB attacks as well as excellent coverage and high attacking stats. Additionally, Mega Diancie can set Stealth Rock against many of the best methods of hazard control in the tier, namely Tornadus-T, Zapdos, and Mega Sableye. The Defoggers that do match up well against Mega Diancie, namely Rotom-W and Tapu Fini, lack reliable recovery, so it's very easy for it to wear them down. Mega Diancie has a decent defensive typing that allows it to check prominent threats such as Tornadus-T and Volcarona to an extent. However, this typing in conjunction with Mega Diancie's poor bulk leaves it threatened by many Pokemon that outspeed it such as Greninja, Choice Scarf Landorus-T, and Tapu Koko. Sometimes, Mega Diancie has difficulty choosing its moveset due to it wanting the utility of both Stealth Rock and Protect as well as the ability to run all of its coverage moves.

Moves
========

Earth Power is an excellent coverage move, allowing Mega Diancie to hit Steel-types like Magearna and Heatran as well as Toxapex. Protect can be used in place of Stealth Rock or Diamond Storm in order to allow Diancie the ability to scout Choice-locked Pokemon, such as Landorus-T, Ash-Greninja, and Kartana, that Mega Diancie would otherwise be forced out by. In a similar vein, Protect allows Mega Diancie to scout for potential Z-Moves, such as Tapu Koko's Gigavolt Havoc and Magearna's Twinkle Tackle. Hidden Power Fire is an alternative option that allows Mega Diancie to hit Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn significantly harder, but it has trouble fitting it onto its already constricted moveset.

Set Details
========

Diancie uses a Hasty nature because the drop in its special bulk from running Naive makes it a significantly less reliable check to Tornadus-T and leaves it OHKOed by Tapu Lele; however, if Diamond Storm is dropped in favor of Protect or another coverage move, Mega Diancie should utilize a Timid nature.

Usage Tips
========

Due to Mega Diancie's ability to beat virtually every method of hazard control in the tier, attempt to get up Stealth Rock early in the game, as it pressures many of its common checks. This is especially important against stall teams, particularly those with Mega Sableye, because having entry hazards up against them makes it significantly easier to break through them. However, Mega Diancie should take care when playing against stall with specially defensive Mew, as it needs to be chipped before Mega Diancie threatens to 2HKO it. If using Protect, use it against Pokemon that commonly get Choice-locked, such as Greninja and Landorus-T, to scout what move they are using, and then make your move accordingly. However, be wary of Pokemon that are bluffing a Choice item, such as Kartana and Landorus-T, and scout to make sure that they have a Choice item early-game. Use Mega Diancie as a breaker, weakening defensive Pokemon like Magearna and Tapu Fini that are commonly used as defensive answers for Mega Diancie for teammates to clean late-game. Don't be afraid to use Mega Diancie to aggressively deny entry hazards when you can afford the risk, as keeping them off of the field can be the difference between losing and winning in many matchups.

Team Options
========

Generally, Mega Diancie fits into more offensive teams that need the role compression between being both a Stealth Rock setter and a wallbreaker that can threaten balance teams. As is the case with most Stealth Rock setters, but with Mega Diancie especially because it can set up Stealth Rock against the best hazard control in the tier, wallbreakers that are aided by entry hazards such as Kyurem, Tapu Lele, and Kartana make good partners for Mega Diancie, especially because it can weaken Steel-types with Earth Power. Magnezone is an excellent partner for Earth Power Mega Diancie, being able to remove troublesome Pokemon such as Celesteela, Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor. Offensive Pokemon that appreciate Mega Diancie's ability to discourage Stealth Rock, such as Tornadus-T and Volcarona, make great partners for Mega Diancie. Those two in particular are good partners because they have good defensive synergy with Mega Diancie and deal with Choice-locked Kartana particularly well in conjunction with Protect Mega Diancie.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Nature Power can be used in conjunction with Tapu Koko to 2HKO Toxapex and Celesteela or with Tapu Lele to 2HKO Mega Venusaur and Toxapex, but Mega Diancie is already strapped for moveslots and can't afford to drop Earth Power much of the time. Endeavor can be used to surprise Chansey for teammates that appreciate the defensive behemoth removed, but it's usually much too situational to justify using over a coverage move. Finally, Mega Diancie can have a pseudo-suicide lead set with Stealth Rock and Explosion to deny Defog and provide offensive momentum as well as to act as a surprise factor against Pokemon such as Toxapex early-game, but it's much less consistent in longer games and makes it much harder to deny entry hazards from the opposing side in the long run.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Bulky Steel-types such as Assault Vest Magearna, Celesteela, and Jirachi can switch into and threaten to OHKO Mega Diancie, but they have to be wary of switching into Mega Diancie too often and accruing too much chip damage. Similarly, Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor can threaten to OHKO Mega Diancie, but both have to watch out for Hidden Power Fire.

**Water-types**: Bulky Water-types such as Gastrodon and Toxapex can switch into Mega Diancie and take little from its STAB attacks, but Toxapex has to be wary of Earth Power after Stealth Rock damage. On the other hand, Greninja can outspeed Mega Diancie and threaten to OHKO it with either Surf or Hydro Pump, but it cannot switch directly into Mega Diancie. Additionally, Ash-Greninja and Choice Scarf Greninja should try to predict around Protect Mega Diancie, as it can scout what moves they lock themselves into.

**Offensive Ground-types**: Offensive Ground-types such as Choice Scarf Landorus-T and Sand Rush Excadrill threaten to outspeed and OHKO Mega Diancie, but they must avoid switching directly into it due to their relative frailty, and Choice Scarf Landorus-T has to be wary of being taken advantage of by Protect Mega Diancie.

**Grass-types**: Bulky Grass-types such as Mega Venusaur, Tapu Bulu, and Tangrowth can switch into and threaten Mega Diancie, but they have to take care not to be worn down by entry hazards. Similarly, offensive Grass-types such as Kartana and Serperior can threaten to OHKO Mega Diancie, but they can only switch into Mega Diancie in a limited capacity.

**Miscellaneous Offensive Threats**: Miscellaneous offensive threats such as Tapu Koko and Mega Alakazam outspeed and threaten Mega Diancie with their powerful STAB attacks, but they cannot switch directly into it.

Earth Power is an excellent coverage move, allowing Mega Diancie to hit Magearna, Mega Mawile, and Toxapex.
Add Heatran.

Use Mega Diancie as a breaker, weakening defensive Pokemon like Magearna and Taoy Fini that are commonly used as defensive answers for fini for teammates to clean in the late-game.
There seems to be an error here.

Don't be afraid to use Mega Diancie to aggressively deny Stealth Rock when given the opportunity when you can afford the risk, as keeping them off of the field can be the difference between losing and winning in many matchups.
Hazards > Stealth Rock. This can apply to Spikes and Toxic Spikes aswell.

As is the case with most Stealth Rock setters, but with Diancie especially because it can set up Stealth Rock against the best hazard control in the tier, wallbreakers that are aided by entry hazards such as Kyurem and Kartana make good partners for Mega Diancie.
I would add Tapu Lele and also mention that they appreciate diancie weakening steel-types.

Finally, Mega Diancie can have a pseudo suicide lead set with Stealth Rocks and Explosion to deny Defog and provide offensive momentum as well as a surprise factor on Pokemon such as Toxapex in the early game, but it's obviously much less consistent in longer games and makes it much harder to deny Stealth Rock from the opposing side in the long run.
Again, hazards > sr.

Bulky Steel-types, such as Assault Vest Magearna, Celesteela, and Jirachi can switch into and threaten to OHKO Mega Diancie
Add Ferrothorn.

Specify Ash-Greninja here; Protean Greninja doesn't run Hydro Pump THAT often and certainly isn't more relevant than Ash-Greninja. In a similar vein, Protect allows Mega Diancie to scout for potential Z-moves, such as Tapu Koko's Gigavolt Havoc and Magearna's Twinkle Tackle.

I think that you should add that a Hasty nature lets Mega Diancie live a Psychic from Choice Scarf from Tapu Lele.

I think that you should add a bit about setting Stealth Rock against Mega Sableye stalls. While it's rather simple to play around, it's really important in these matchups and I think it'd be useful for the audience to know about.

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

However, be weary wary of Pokemon that are bluffing a Choice item, such as Kartana and Landorus-T, and scout to make sure that they have a Choice item early-game.

========

Generally, Mega Diancie fits into more offensive teams that need the role compression between being both a Stealth Rock setter and a wallbreaker that can threaten balance teams. As is the case with most Stealth Rock setters, but with Mega Diancie especially because it can set up Stealth Rock against the best hazard control in the tier, wallbreakers that are aided by entry hazards such as Kyurem, Tapu Lele, (AC) (keep comma, remove comments) and Kartana make good partners for Mega Diancie, especially because it can weaken Steel-types with Earth Power. Those two in particular are good partners because they have good defensive synergy with Mega Diancie and make deal with Choice-locked Kartana particularly well in conjunction with Protect Mega Diancie.

Other Options
=============

Nature Power can be used in conjunction with Tapu Koko to 2HKO Toxapex and Celesteelaor along or with Tapu Lele to 2HKO Mega Venusaur and Toxapex, but Mega Diancie is already strapped for moveslots and can't afford to drop Earth Power much of the time. Endeavor can be used to lure surprise Chansey for teammates that appreciate the defensive behemoth removed, but it's usually much too situational to justify using over a coverage move. Finally, Mega Diancie can have a pseudo-suicide lead set with Stealth Rock and Explosion to deny Defog and provide offensive momentum as well as to act as a surprise factor on against Pokemon such as Toxapex early-game, but it's much less consistent in longer games and makes it much harder to deny entry hazards from the opposing side in the long run.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Bulky Steel-types such as Assault Vest Magearna, Celesteela, and Jirachi can switch into and threaten to OHKO Mega Diancie, but they have to be wary of switching into Mega Diancie too often and accruing too much chip damage. Similarly, Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor can threaten to OHKO Mega Diancie, but both have to watch out for be wary of Hidden Power Fire.

Additionally, Ash-Greninja and Choice Scarf Greninja should be wary of try to predicting around Protect Mega Diancie, as it can scout what moves they lock themselves into.

**Offensive Ground-types**: Offensive Ground-types such as Choice Scarf Landorus-T and Sand Rush Excadrill threaten to outspeed and OHKO Mega Diancie, but they must avoid be wary of switching directly into it due to their relative frailty, and Choice Scarf Landorus-T has to be wary of being taken advantage of by Protect Mega Diancie.

**Grass-types**: Bulky Grass-types such as Mega Venusaur, Tapu Bulu, and Tangrowth can switch into and threaten Mega Diancie, but they have to take care not to be wary of being worn down by entry hazards.
