RU Golisopod

[OVERVIEW]

Golisopod has a good Attack stat and access to priority moves such as First Impression and Aqua Jet, which alongside Liquidation, help Golisopod punch holes in teams. With that being said, Golisopod's best role on a team is revenge killing Pokemon with Insect Plate- or Choice Band-boosted First Impression. Then Liquidation can be used to break walls, as it has the chance to lower a foe;s Defense. However, its Speed holds it back when comparing its viability to other wallbreakers such as Feraligatr. Its weakness to Stealth Rock paired with its terrible ability makes it close to unusable, hence the offensive Golisopod set is outclassed by many Water-types including Feraligatr, Araquanid, and Bruxish. Golisopod is so slow that Emergency Exit will usually force it out before it has a chance to use a move. Even if you rely on First Impression for priority, it's very easy to play around, as the opponent will usually know it's coming.

Moves
========

Liquidation is Golisopod's best Water-type STAB move; it does a lot of damage to Gligar as well as neutral damage to threats such as Pangoro and Flygon. It is also Golisopod's best move to hit Registeel with. First Impression is Golisopod's best Bug-type STAB move and arguably its best move, having +2 priority as well as 90-Base Power, so it can easily revenge kill weakened Pokemon. Golisopod is able to KO Honchkrow and Zygarde-10% from full health. Be wary when using First Impression when running Choice Band, as once you are locked in it is easy for the opposition to take advantage of. Leech Life is a good secondary Bug-type STAB move with 80-Base Power; this, in addition to it healing 50% of the damage done, is perfect for staying above 50% HP to halt activating Emergency Exit. It also helps Golisopod deal with Pokemon such as Cresselia, Mega Abomasnow, and Slowking. Spikes can generate a lot of momentum if you force the opponent to switch into something that resists First Impression. By stacking Spikes on the opposing side of the field, Life Orb Pokemon are given limited switches, and bulky Pokemon are chipped. Spikes should never be run with Choice Band, though. Locking into it could give your opponent too much momentum. Aqua Jet allows Golisopod to get off hits first for more than one turn, unlike First Impression. However, it does not have anywhere near the same power. In terms of other non-attacking moves, Toxic is also viable, since it can hit bulky checks such as Milotic and Chesnaught on the switch. Status in some cases is better than trying to break through a wall that has recovery.

Set Details
========

88 Speed EVs allow Golisopod to outspeed base 50s such as Registeel and Diancie. The HP investment gives Golisopod an odd HP number, allowing it to switch into Stealth Rock twice without being forced out by Emergency Exit. Choice Band allows Golisopod to deal maximum damage in order to revenge kill its targets .Insect Plate is used to hit as hard as possible with First Impression with flexability to take advantage of using Spikes or Toxic without losing momentum. Insect Plate-boosted First Impression can safely OHKO Zygarde-10%. Choice Band First Impression will KO Flygon after Stealth Rock as well as Honchkrow at full, while Insect Plate is a roll to KO.

Usage Tips
========

Never bring Golisopod in on any offensive Pokemon that can deal 50% of its health in damage, as it will send Golisopod straight back out again. However, it is okay to try to get Golisopod in when you predict the opposition to switch or when you feel comfortable Golisopod won't take much damage. This way, Golisopod can get off the most uses of First Impression in a match. Try to avoid bringing Golisopod in on Stealth Rock unless you are guaranteed a KO or if you have no other options. Spam Liquidation against bulky Pokemon that cannot harm you much back; getting a Defense drop can be the difference between forcing a switch or not. If running Choice Band, try not to use First Impression if the opponent has an obvious switch-in to it.

Team Options
========

Golisopod is helped by Rapid Spin and Defog users to keep entry hazards off of your side of the field. Useful partners include Gligar and Cryogonal. Alternatively, being able to keep them off the field from the start of the game would work even better, making Espeon with Magic Bounce a great pairing. Doublade or any other viable Ghost-type would be a great pairing to spinblock, as keeping Golisopod's Spikes on the field is important for the rest of the team. Sweepers such as Zygarde-10% and Salazzle can take advantage of dented teams thanks to Golisopod's Spikes and its heavy-hitting priority attacks. Other hazard setters, such as Nidoqueen, Registeel and Gligar, work well with Golisopod, since Choice Band First Impression only needs a bit of chip damage to KO most offensive threats, and Nidoqueen also resists Rock and is immune to Electric.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Defensive Golisopod is an option with Spikes and Toxic. An EV spread of 252 HP / 172 Def / 88 Spe with Leftovers and an Impish Nature is the best possible defensive set. However, due to its lack of reliable recovery paired with its weakness to Stealth Rock, Golisopod is heavily outshone by Chesnaught in this role.

Checks and Counters
==================
**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Golisopod is unable to break bulky Pokemon such as Milotic and Chesnaught. Even with the Toxic set, Golisopod is forced out after switching in, giving the opposition momentum. Giving bulky Pokemon such as Chesnaught the chance to stack Spikes is very detrimental to your team.

**Electric-types**: Golisopod is weak to Electric-types such as Rotom-C, Rotom-H, and Galvantula. Although not too common, all of these Pokemon have the potential to carry Volt Switch. This not only forces Golisopod out in fear of being KOed but allows the opposition to pivot on your switch, passing along a lot of momentum. On top of this, Galvantula getting a free turn to get up Sticky Web allows the opposition's heavy hitters to sweep.

**Entry Hazards**: Hazards are a huge counter to Golisopod, forcing it to switch out due to its ability Emergency Exit and causing residual damage, which gets it closer to the ability activating. With the opposition knowing you will need to get in your hazard remover, it gives them the upper hand in predictions. With RU being gorged with an abundance of reliable hazard stackers, it is more than likely you will run into Spikes or Stealth Rock in most games.

Overview should explain to the reader that Golisopod is literally so fucking bad, not try to show it as an ok/viable option. Mention how emergency exit forcing it out is really bad, it being the slowest motherfucker alive, huge competition from chesnaught who's such an amazing spiker, SR weakness, no recovery, and I can probably think of more flaws later. Overview is also not set details; you don't need to mention EV investment there, it should just give a general introduction into this pokemon's viability in the tier and main functions. You also keep mentioning Donphan, which is another pokemon that's not exactly good. 88 speed is for base 50s in general so mention that instead of specifically just donphan.

Usage tips is lacking. when do you bring in golisopod? when do you setup spikes? should you go for another layer of spikes or toxic vs a chesnaught or a cresselia? etc

In OO, you dont want 252 hp/252 atk, make it 88 speed also to outspeed registeel. you really dont wanna be slower than registeel

[OVERVIEW]
  • Golisopod is not very viable in RU at all as every role it has is bettered by another Pokemon. Mention examples such as Chesnaught as a better Spiker (or Glalie and Roserade as better offensive Spikers) and other mons as better offensive mons
  • Emergency Exit forces it out and as it is slow it will usually happen before it can even attack.
  • It can however beat punch holes in teams with +2 priority First Impression and Liquidation.
  • Its main role on a team would be to revenge kill Pokemon with Insect Plate boosted First Impression.
  • Liquidation can break walls with the chance to lower a foes defence but it is not a viable option when so many other Pokemon can break teams easier.

[SET]

Name: Offensive
Move 1: Liquidation
Move 2: First Impression
Move 3: Leech Life
Move 4: Aqua Jet / Spikes

EVs: 168 HP / 252 Atk / 88 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
  • Liquidation is Golisopod's best Water-type STAB move, it does a lot of damage to Gligar and Donphan as well as neutral damage to threats such as Pangoro and Flygon. It also is the best move to hit Registeel with as it out speeds.
  • First Impression is Golisopod's best Bug-type STAB move as it hits really hard and has one of the highest move priorities at +2. This is perfect for revenge killing Pokemon such as Zoroark or Zygarde-10%
  • Leech Life helps to deal with Pokemon such as Sharpedo, Tsareena, Dhelmise, Slowbro, Mega Abomosnow and Slowking. Thanks to the buff to Leech Life this generation, Leech Life will help Golisopod have reliable sustainability against Pokemon that are weak to Bug-types.
  • Aqua Jet is another option for priority over Spikes as it allows you to get hits off on Pokemon you do not out speed more than once unlike First Impression.
  • Spikes are great support for the team, hitting 12.5% up to 25% of the opposing teams HP every time they switch in helps late game sweepers to do their job more easily. They stop opposing Life Orb Pokemon from having many switch ins and really hurt bulky Pokemon such as Doublade and Registeel as they have no reliable form of recovery.
  • I guess you should mention Toxic here or in OOs.

Set Details
========
  • Emergency Exit is not an ideal ability but you have to use it.You don't need to mention that since it's only ability, but if you want mention like "Emergency Exit is the only option for ability." and that's it ig.
  • Insect Plate helps Golisopod to safely KO Zygarde-10% with First Impression without being locked into one move or taking Life Orb damage.
  • EVs allow it to out speed base 50's (mention examples such as Regi and Diancie) while maintaining an odd HP number, allowing it to switch in twice to rocks without being forced out by Emergency Exit.
  • Choice Band is for breaking stall teams more efficiently (does Goli break stall? I doubt, just say CB is used to be as strong as possible), it is still outshone by other Pokemon if you do intend to use it, you might as well make sure you hit as hard as possible. (Idt there's need to mention that here, btw mention CB before Insect Plate if that's main slash).

Usage Tips
========
  • Never bring Golisopod in on anything that will deal a lot of damage otherwise you will be straight back out again.
  • Try to get Golisopod in whenever you feel like you have a free switch to take advantage of First Impression.
  • Try to avoid bringing Golisopod in on rocks unless you are getting a revenge kill or if you have no other choice.
  • Spam Liquidation against bulky Pokemon to try and get the defence drop as it makes it easier to break.
  • If you are Banded try not to First Impression if they have a Steel-type or 100% Bug switch in. (That's quite obvious, I'd reword that for smth like "If Choice Band is chosen be careful with First Impression".

Team Options
========
  • Golisopod works well with Rapid Spinners and Defog to keep hazards off of your side of the field.(I wouldn't say it works well, just say how them help Goli to switch more times, and btw use examples)
  • A good teammate would be a Ghost-type such as Doublade to spin block.
  • Sweepers such as Sharpedo, Salazzle or Zoroark can take advantage of dented teams thanks to Golisopod.
  • Hazard setters work well with Golisopod's priority moves. Gliscor, Registeel or Donphan would work.Don't mention SR Donphan pls, instead what about Nidoqueen and mention like "the latter one has[...]" from last slash?
  • Nidoqueen has good synergy with Golisopod as it resists the Rock weakness and is immune to the Electric weakness that Golisopod has.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Defensive Golisopod is an option with Spikes and Toxic. 252 HP / 172 Def / 88 Spe with Leftovers and an Impish Nature is the best possible defensive set, although without recovery and being weak to rocks it is heavily outshone by Chesnaught.
  • I'd mention LO here, not sure if QC members agree but just say it allows u to beat Gligar more easily and KO Salazzle with Aqua Jet even w/o Rocks like almost always but thanks to its ability its not good cuz LO recoil sucks.

Checks and Counters
==================
**Protect**: Golisopod is unbearably slow and relies on First Impression. If a Pokemon that Golisopod wants to revenge kill runs Protect you are forced to switch if Banded or slower. (Does that even deserves a C&C mention? Idts)

**Flying Moves**: Golisopod is weak to Flying attacks and there is a few threats that have access to them and can easily deal with Golisopod Examples

**Electric Moves**: Golisopod is weak to Electric moves so Pokemon such Gardevoir, Nidoqueen and Porygon2 will be able to hit Golisopod into Emergency Exit range.

Mention Bulky mons such as Milotic and Chesnaught as they only fear maybe Toxic and can weaken Golisopod with its own toxic (milotic) or with Wood Hammer and Leech Seed (Chester)
That's all I saw here, ofc I'm not QC so you don't need to implement anything unless a QC member say u should

- On the Overview you generally want to point out the good traits the Pokemon has, no matter how little it has, then close with the bad traits. It is like this so the reader has an easier time following the write-up.
- On that note, you can mention Golisopod great attack stat and the good access to priority move it has (like Aqua Jet, Sucker Punch, First Impression). Then you proceed with the bad points: like how atrocious Emergency Exit is as an ability, how slow it is, how easy it is to play around first impression, stuff like that. Remove the +2 part on the overview, swords dance isnt relevant.
- Would remove Sharpedo from Leech Life targets since it will always manage to screw you over thanks to Emergency Exit backfiring, and remove Dhelmise since it is kind of irrelevant atm. Cresselia would be a good replacement here, as a target.
- Mention Toxic as an option for moves. Can nail stuff like Chesnaught and Milotic on the switch. Not on the main set cause the main reason to use Toxic left (Mantine).
- Isnt necessary to mention Emergency Exit given it is its only ability, go ramble about it on Overview all you want but it is unnecessary to mention it on set details.
- Isnt really breaking stall teams on its own so saying it is running Choice Band for that is misleading. Mention how it has a better shot at breaking through bulky teams with it, not just stall. Specifics can backfire on that statement.
- Team Options has to be as specific as possible. Rapid Spin and Defog users like who? You could mention Gligar, even Donphan on this field. Spin Blockers for what purpose exactly? You need to emphasize on why.
- It is Gligar, not Gliscor. Can mention Rhyperior over Donphan on the SR bit for whats worth.

And... GFDI RANDOMNICK. Basically what he said

Tag me to get over it when you are done to double check it, not quite ready for QC yet.

- "Liquidation can break walls with the chance to lower a foes defence but it still does not make Golisopod a viable option when so many other Pokemon can break teams easier" I dont like the sound on this, you already emphasize on how liquidation can punch holes and the last bit is just so vague. In this you can mention how its speed holds it back as a breaker compared to other potential wallbreakers.

- "Golisopod is not very viable in RU at all as every role it has is bettered by another Pokemon" Eh, Im all for pointing out the lack of viability of a Pokemon in a metagame but this is way too vague, remove it or replace it. You can mention its weakness to every hazard and how it is particularly annoying for it thanks to its ability

- "The Golisopod Offensive set is better by offensive spikers such as Roserade and Glalie where as the Defensive spike set is bested by Chesnaught" Eh, it gets to the point but the wording can be a lot better. Mention it faces heavy competition as an offensive water type with Araquanid, Bruxish, and even Cloyster and that Spikes set are done better by Roserade and Chesnaught.

- On Set Details mention how the added power of Choice Band allows it to guarantee the kill on Pokemon like Flygon after Stealth Rock Damage with First Impression and guarantee the kill on Honchkrow (Insect Plate is a roll from full)

- Also on Set Details you should mention why Spikes is only ran with Insect Plate, to avoid confusion.

- For this particular mon, Id mention Espeon as a good partner on team options. Magic Bounce is really useful to deter Emergency Exit screwing you over, and forcing out Nidoqueen is nice-

- I think under checks and counters, Physically Defensive Pokemon would be a better name for that section specifically

- Hazards is definitely a valid element to add under checks and counters section, residual damage that triggers Emergency Exit is definitely a way of handling this mon.

Much better, I believe it is good for the 1st check after this. QC 1/3 after all of this is implemented.

mention its slow speed in the overview, and remove sucker punch if ur not gonna mention it anywhere else on the analysis. remove donphan, tsareena, and slowbroking from all of your examples; they're fairly irrelevant right now. put umbreon instead (and in some cases like the point about leech life, you have too many mons as examples e_e)

Golisopod is helped by Rapid Spinners and Defog to keep hazards off of your side of the field, so Gligar or Rhyperior would work well.
rhyperior doesn't spin or defog, did you possibly mean to put donphan here? replace that with uhh.. cryogonal? i guess .-.

Hazard setters work well with Golisopod's priority moves. Gligar, Registeel or Nidoqueen, The latter one has good synergy with Golisopod as it resists Rock and is immune to Electric.
what does "working well with golisopod's priority moves" mean?

consider removing sharpedo from team options as it'll probably get banned soon, you can put zydog in instead

C&C needs a rehaul. "flying moves" and "electric moves" won't cut it; nidoqueen running tbolt isnt exactly standard anymore and the same goes for p2. consider removing them entirely, and being a bit more detailed with the rest of c&c

avocado done everything. no idea why Rhyperior was there. Removed Sucker, Tsareena, Donphan, Slowbro and Sharpedo mentions. Mentioned slow speed in with another point. Explained that awfully worded and vague sentance about hazard setters working well with priority. Rehauled C&C I was probably being lazy at the time

phantom

Banned deucer.
remove the flying type section in c&c (they're pretty bad counters since a lot of them are frail take a large chunk from aqua jet) and move physically bulky pokemon to the top of the list

qc 3/3

Having used Golisopod a good bit now I believe insect plate and spikes should be slashed first over choice band and ajet. I feel like being able to change moves is a very useful ability to have especially since first impression can be played around by switching into a resist or a mon that can take it but might struggle to take repeated liquidations afterwards (like nidoqueen or gligar for example)

also fix your set format, there shouldn't be any capitalizations for anything besides actual move and item names etc, so copy/paste this:

[SET]
(theres no linebreak here also so remove it)
name: Offensive
move 1: Liquidation
move 2: First Impression
move 3: Leech Life
move 4: Aqua Jet / Spikes
Iiem: Choice Band / Insect Plate
ability: Emergency Exit
nature: Adamant
evs: 168 HP / 252 Atk / 88 Spe

also dont forget to post this in gp queue now :)

Not GP (yet), but can you look over this one more time? There are a lot of obvious mistakes in here and it would make life a lot easier.

For example, in the first sentence:
Golisopod has good a good attack stat and access to a plethora of priority moves such as First Impression and Aqua Jet.

overall this is really good for a first check. what I would say is try to make less unnecessary subjective changes, as gpers generally try to follow the writer's voice. smogon also uses the serial comma (comma in a list of three or more items), so don't forgot to add those. also, when adding commas or any type of punctuation, a comment like (AC) for add comma makes it a lot clearer for the writer.

[OVERVIEW]

Golisopod has a good Attack stat and access to a plethora (not really a plethora if it's only 2 priority moves)of reliable (unnecessary, also adding reliable isn't the best imo because first impression can only be used turn 1) priority moves such as First Impression and Aqua Jet. These moves, in addition to as well as (optional) Liquidation, (AC) help Golisopod punch holes in teams. With that being said, arguably Golisopod's best role on a team is revenge killing Pokemon with Insect Plate-boosted or Choice Band-boosted First Impression. Then, Liquidation can be is used to break walls, (AC) since as (optional) it has the chance to lower a foes defense foe's Defense, but. However, its Speed holds it back when comparing its viability to other breakers such as Feraligatr. It's (remove apostrophe) weakness to Stealth Rocks paired with its terrible ability makes it close to unusable, for these reasons Hence, (I feel that hence is a much better transition) (optional) the offensive Golisopod set is outclassed by many Water-types including Feraligatr, Araquanid, (AC) and Bruxish. Golisopod is so slow that Emergency Exit will usually force it out before it has a chance to use a move. and e Even if you rely on priority First Impression, it's very easy to play around, (AC) as the opponent will usually know it's coming.

Moves
========

Liquidation is Golisopod's best Water-type STAB move,; it does a lot of damage to Gligar as well as neutral damage to threats such as Pangoro and Flygon. It also out speeds outspeeds Registeel, (AC) so it is Golisopod's best move to hit Registeelit with(ambiguous pronoun). First Impression is Golisopod's best Bug-type STAB move and arguably its best move, having a +2 priority as well as 90 Base Power, (AC) so it can easily revenge kill weakened Pokemon. However, By using Insect Plate or Choice Band however, (you wouldn't really use however here because it's an addition to the first impression point not a contradiction) Golisopod is able to kill KO Honchkrow and Zygarde-10% from full health. Be weary when using Choice Banded First Impression as once you are locked in it is easy for the opposition to take advantage. Leech Life is a good secondary Bug-type STAB move with 80 Base Power in SM as it got buffed to 80 power. (cross-gen reference) This, in addition to healing half of the damage done, is perfect for staying above 50% HP to halt activation of Emergency Exit., that with the addition of healing 50% of damage done is perfect for staying above 50% HP to not activate your ability(the wording is really hard to understand). It also helps Golisopod to deal with Pokemon such as Cresselia, Mega Abomasnow, (AC) and Slowking. (remove like break) Aqua Jet is Golisopod's other viable priority move, i. It allows Golisopod to get off hits first for more than one turn unlike First Impression, h. However, (AC) it does not have anywhere near the same power. Spikes areGolisopod also ran on Golisopod, quietuns spikes, commonly over Aqua Jet, it. Setting up a spike a layer of Spikes can gain you a lot of momentum if you force the opponent to switch into something that resists First Impression, giv. By staking spikes stacking Spikes on the opposing side of the field, Life Orb Pokemon users are given limited switches, (AC) as well as chipping away atnd bulky Pokemon are chipped. Spikes should never be ran run on the Choice Band set though as l. Locking yourself into it could give your opponent too much momentum. TIn terms of other non-attacking moves, Toxic canis also viable, (AC) used tosince it can hit bulky checks such as Milotic or and Chesnaught on the switch in. Status in some cases is better than trying to break through a wall that has recovery.

Set Details
========

88 Speed EVs allow it to out speed base 50's outspeed base 50s such as Registeel and Diancie while. By keeping this Speed creep, Golisopod (optional) maintainings an odd HP number, allowing it to switch in to rocks into Stealth Rock without being forced out by Emergency Exit. (do you mean switch in twice? switching in once won't activate it because it activates at 50%) The Choice Band on the set is for dealing allows Golisopod to deal maximum damage in order to revenge kill its targets. Choice Banded First Impression will kill KO Flygon after rocks Stealth Rock as well as Honchkrow at full, (AC) wherile as Insect Plate is a roll to kill KO. Insect Plate is used to to hit as hard as possible with First Impression but also have the awhile keeping flexibility to switch up moves if needed this way you can take advantage of using Spikes or Toxic without losing momentum. Insect Plate-(AH)boosted First Impression can safely kill OHKO (I assume) Zygarde-10%.

Usage Tips
========

Never bring Golisopod in on any offensive Pokemon that can deal 50% of your its health in damage, (AC) as it will send you straight back out again bu. However, it is okay to try to get Golisopod in when you predict the opposition to switch or when you feel comfortable Golisopod wont won't take much damage, t. This way, (AC) Golisopod can get off the most amount uses of First Impression a match. Try to avoid bringing Golisopod in on rocks Stealth Rock unless you are guaranteed a kill KO or if you have no other options. Spam Liquidation against bulky Pokemon that can(remove space)not harm you as much back,; (remove comma, add semicolon) getting a Defense drop can be the difference between forcing a switch or not. If you are Choice Band, (AC) try not to use First Impression if they have the opponent has an obvious switch-(AH)in to it.

Team Options
========

Golisopod is helped by Rapid Spinners and Defog users (such as?) to keep hazards off of your side of the field, so. Useful partners include Gligar or and Cryogonal would work well. Alternatively, being able to keep them off the field from the start of the game would work even better so, making Espeon with Magic Bounce would be a great pairing. On the other side of things, (AC) Doublade or any other viable Ghost-type would be a great pairing to spinblock, (AC) or any viable Ghost-type as keeping Golisopod's Spikes on the field are is important for the rest of the team. By keeping a viable Ghost-type mon, the opponent is no longer able to spin block. (don't implement this) Sweepers such as Zygarde-10%, (RC) and Salazzle or Zoroark (banned from ru) can take advantage of dented teams thanks to Golisopod's Spikes or its heavy-(AH)hitting priority attacks. Other hazard setters, (AC) would alsosuch as Registeel, Nidoqueen, and Gligar, work well with Golisopod, (AC) though as killing Pokemon withce Choice Banded First Impression ionly needs a lot easier if the opposition is weakened albit of chip damage to kill KO most offensive threats, (AC) thready, thereforets. However, Gligar, Registeel or Nidoqueen would work well wi the best of the thre latte one having good synergy with Golisoposince is provides an Electric immunity and as it resists both Physical Rock type and is immune to Electric.swer. (it says the latter, which is nidoqueen here because gligar doesn't resist rock, don't implement this) therefore Gligar, Registeel, (AC) and or Nidoqueen would work well, (AC) with the latter one having good synergy with Golisopod, (AC) as it resists both Rock and is immune to Electric.

Other Options
=============

Defensive Golisopod is an option with Spikes and Toxic. 252 HP / 172 Def / 88 Spe with Leftovers and an Impish Nature is the best possible defensive set. However, although withoutdue to its lack of reliable recovery and beingpaired with its weakness to rStealth Rocks it, Golisopod is heavily outshone by Chesnaught in this role.

Checks and Counters
==================
**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Bulky Pokemon such as Milotic and Chesnaught are really hard to break, (AC) and Golisopod is unable to do so, e. Even with the Toxic set, (AC) Golisopod is forced out after switching in, (AC) the switch in giving the opposition momentum. Giving bulky Pokemon such as Chesnaught the chance to stack Spikes is very detrimental to your team.

**Electric-types**: Golisopod is weak to Electric-types such as Rotom-C, Rotom-H, (AC) and Galvantula. Although not too common, all of these Pokemon have the potential to carry Volt Switch. This not only forces Golisopod out in fear of being killed KOed but allows the opposition to pivot on your switch, this heavily switchespassing along a lot of momentum in your oppositions favour. On top of this, Galvantula getting a free turn to get up Sticky Webs sets up a sweep from allows the opposition's (add apostrophe) heavy hitters to sweep.

**Hazards**: Hazards are a huge counter to Golisopod, forcing ait to switch out due to its ability Emergency Exit and causing residual damage, (AC) which gettings you closer to it closer to the ability activating. With the opposition knowing you will need to get in your hazard remover, (AC) it makgives them have the upper hand in predictions. With RU being gorged with an abundance of reliable hazard stackers, it is more than likely you will run into Spikes or Stealth Rock in most games.
