[OVERVIEW]

Flying
========

Gliscor is a fantastic wall thanks to its great natural bulk, access to reliable recovery, and ability to act as a status absorber thanks to Poison Heal. This allows it to act as a blanket check to tons of threats to Flying teams such as Latios, by being able to switch into its Draco Meteor, and Zeraora, which it walls. Its Ground typing provides Flying teams with an immunity to Electric-type coverage and a neutrality to Stealth Rock, which allows Gliscor to become an excellent Defogger for the type. With access to Taunt, Gliscor can act as a stallbreaker by preventing walls such as Chansey from recovering health and slowly wearing them down with Earthquake while also being able to prevent Pokemon such as Hippowdon from setting up Stealth Rock. However, while Gliscor brings all these amazing attributes to the team, it stacks the type's natural weakness to Ice-type coverage and can be taken advantage by faster setup sweepers such as Mega Latias.

evs: 244 HP / 20 Def / 124 SpD / 120 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Defog gives Gliscor a means to clear the field of Stealth Rock. Earthquake is Gliscor's only attack, allowing it to take on weakened Pokemon such as Chansey and OHKO Pokemon such as Lucario. Roost allows Gliscor to stay healthy through the match, allowing it to constantly switch into weak attacks. Taunt makes Gliscor an excellent stallbreaker alongside Roost, preventing walls like Chansey from recovering off damage while slowly wearing them down with Earthquake.

Set Details
========

244 HP and 20 Def EVs allow Gliscor to take Choice Band Victini's V-create and maximize the recovery it gets from Poison Heal. 120 Speed EVs alongside a Jolly nature allow Gliscor to outspeed Pokemon up to Heatran and Jolly Diggersby. The rest is invested into Special Defense to maximize its ability to switch into special attacks, such as Choice Scarf Latios's Draco Meteor. Toxic Orb restores Gliscor's health via Poison Heal allowing it to function as a wall better and act as a status absorber for the team. Gliscor can also run a bulkier spread with 56 Speed EVs to still outspeed Pokemon such as Adamant Bisharp, with the rest dumped into Special Defense alongside a Careful nature to almost always avoid a 2HKO from Mega Diancie's Moonblast. However, Flying teams appreciate Gliscor's ability to outspeed Heatran.

Usage Tips
========

Since Gliscor relies on Poison Heal to stay healthy through the game, you should try to position yourself where Gliscor can safely switch in and get badly poisoned through Toxic Orb. Once poisoned, Gliscor can act as a status absorber and should be switched into status moves such as Celesteela's Toxic and Mega Sableye's Will-O-Wisp. However, Gliscor should not be directly switched into any Pokemon that could potentially cripple it with a burn before it has been poisoned, as that invalidates Gliscor. Similarly, it is important to not allow its item to be removed with Knock Off until after it has been badly poisoned. After getting badly poisoned, Gliscor should be used to switch into weaker Knock Off attacks from Pokemon such as Mew and Mega Sableye, and it should also use the free switch in as an opportunity to clear Stealth Rock with Defog. Gliscor should constantly be kept as healthy as possible, so it can switch into attacks such as Victini's V-create. Look for opportunities to use Taunt to prevent other walls such as Chansey and Cradily from recovering off damage by removing their ability to recover or set up Stealth Rock. Due to Gliscor's Electric immunity, it should be switched into Electric-type attackers such as Zapdos than can't threaten it. Gliscor should absolutely be preserved in the Electric matchup, as it not only provides an immunity against their STAB moves but also acts as a great late-game wincon, being able to take on attackers such as Zeraora and Alolan Raichu.

Team Options
========

All of its teammates appreciate the Electric-type immunity Gliscor provides, as well as its ability to absorb status and switch into Knock Off after it has been poisoned and clear entry hazards with Defog. Celesteela can take on troublesome Ice-types such as Weavile and Alolan Ninetales for Gliscor by providing it with neutrality to the type while also being able to OHKO them with Heavy Slam. Mega Aerodactyl and Choice Scarf Landorus-T help keep faster foes in check, being able to outspeed threatening Pokemon such as Tapu Koko and Alolan Raichu outside of Electric Terrain while also being able to set Stealth Rock. Mega Aerodactyl also can Pursuit trap threats such as Victini for Gliscor, alleviating some pressure off it. Mantine provides a neutrality to Ice-type attacks and immunity to Water-type attacks, allowing it to easily switch into Pokemon that threaten Gliscor such as Greninja. It also forms the best Defog core with Gliscor, as they can clear hazards against every type due to their strong defensive synergy, as well as alleviating the pressure for Gliscor to deal with special attackers like the aforementioned Latios. Zapdos appreciates Gliscor to act as the team's Defogger, allowing it to run better sets such as SubToxic. Gliscor in return appreciates Zapdos's ability to cripple walls such as Hippowdon with Toxic, allowing it to more effectively stallbreak alongside Taunt. Tornadus-T can take on Pokemon that Gliscor struggles against such as Mega Venusaur thanks to its strong Flying-type STAB coverage. It can also bring in Gliscor safely with U-turn against Pokemon it can wall such as Zapdos, allowing it to recover off damage with Roost or Defog with ease. Mega Charizard Y can break past defensive walls such as Mega Venusaur, which Gliscor can struggle to beat even with access to Taunt. It can also break past Ground- and Water-type Pokemon such as Swampert and Hippowdon with Solar Beam.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Flying
--------
Knock Off allows Gliscor to break walls better by removing their item, such as Chansey's Eviolite. Stealth Rock can also be run to free up a slot for other teammates such as Mega Aerodactyl. However, running Knock Off or Stealth Rock means forgoing Taunt, which would let walls easily recover damage on it and make Gliscor far too passive. Gliscor can also run Toxic, which allows it to stallbreak better alongside Taunt to chip walls such as Mandibuzz faster. However, this means giving up Defog, which is required to give Flying teams a better chance in the Electric matchup. Swords Dance can be run instead of a stallbreaker set, allowing it to become a threatening setup sweeper with a host of different options such as Ice Fang to take on other Flying teams better, Knock Off to remove walls items and hit Psychic-type Pokemon like Latios, or Facade to take advantage of its permanent status condition.

Checks and Counters
===================

Flying
--------
**Ice-types**: Ice-type Pokemon such as Weavile and Mamoswine threaten to OHKO Gliscor with their STAB attacks. Kyurem-B is especially threatening because of its additional coverage in Fusion Bolt, allowing it to hit the entire Flying team for super effective damage.

*Water-types**: Offensive Water-type Pokemon such as Keldeo threaten to OHKO Gliscor with Hydro Pump, while more defensive Water-type Pokemon such as Mantine and Swampert can threaten to burn Gliscor with Scald before it has been badly poisoned.

**Ground-immune Foes**: Due to Gliscor's only attack being Earthquake, all Flying-type Pokemon and those with the ability Levitate such as Hydreigon and Celesteela completely wall Gliscor. Rotom-W especially annoys Gliscor, as it can cripple it with Will-O-Wisp before being badly poisoned and can do lots of damage with Hydro Pump.

**Wallbreakers**: Wallbreakers such as Choice Band Dragonite and Mega Sharpedo can easily break past Gliscor's defenses and threaten to do tons of damage to it or outright OHKO it with their powerful STAB and coverage moves.

**Faster Taunt Users**: Faster Taunt users such as Deoxys-S and Crobat can prevent Gliscor from performing many of roles, such as clearing hazards with Defog or recovering health with Roost.

At the same time don't recklessly switch Gliscor into random attacks and give it room to recover off that damage with Roost. The second sentence isn't really contradictory to the first, so it reads kind of weirdly. You can definitely use Gliscor to switch into attacks that fail to 2HKO it thanks to the supreme healing between poison heal and roost.

Banned deucer.
im not QC but i think toxic should definitely be slashed w/ taunt, the ability to trade w/ other walls is amazing, especially since mono eq means you'll be missing out on a shit ton of walls and the ability to hit offensive pokemon like kyub on switch in is really important i feel

also taunt preventing rocks is completely nullified / useless against defensive rockers that simply lose to toxic or are PP stalled by gliscor's own defog / another teammates (mantine) and i feel like although taunt 6-0s steel, flying has a pretty favorable matchup without it already

Flying

Gliscor is a fantastic wall thanks to its great natural bulk, access to reliable recovery, and Poison Heal which allows it to act as a ability to act as a status absorber thanks to Poison Heal (original would've led to awkward commas imo). This allows it to act as a blanket check to tons of threats to Flying teams such as Latios by being able to switch into its Draco Meteor and being able to wall Pokemon such as Zeraora. Its Ground-typing provides Flying teams with an immunity to Electric-type coverage and a neutrality to Stealth Rock, (AC) which allows Gliscor to become an excellent Defogger Pokemon for the type. With access to Taunt, Gliscor can act as a stallbreaker by preventing walls from recovering off health and slowly wearing walls down such as Chansey with Earthquake allowing it act as a stallbreaker, while also being able to prevent Pokemon such as Hippowdon from setting up Stealth Rock. However, while Gliscor brings all these amazing attributes to the team, (AC) it stacks the type's (add apostrophe) natural weakness to Ice-type coverage and can be taken advantage by faster setup sweepers such as Mega Latias.

(add period) however However, (AC) Flying teams appreciate Gliscor's ability to outspeed Heatran.

Usage Tips
========

Since Gliscor relies on Poison Heal to stay healthy through the game, you should try to position yourself where Gliscor can safely switch-in (remove hyphen) and get Toxic badly poisoned through Toxic Orb. Once poisoned, Gliscor can act as a status absorber and should be switched into status moves such as Celesteela's Toxic or Mega Sableye's Will-O-Wisp. However, Gliscor should not be directly switched into any Pokemon that could potentially cripple it with a burn before its been poisoned, (AC) as that invalidates Gliscor. Due to this, it is important to not allow Gliscor's its item to be removed with Knock Off until after it has been Toxic badly poisoned. However, after that After getting badly poisoned, (AC) Gliscor should be used to switch into weaker Knock Off attacks from Pokemon such as Mew and Mega Sableye. Gliscor, (AC) and it should also use the free switch-in as an opportunity to clear Stealth Rock with Defog. Gliscor should constantly be kept as healthy as possible, (AC) as it is used to switch into attacks it can handle such as Victini's V-Create. Gliscor should absolutely be preserved in the Electric matchup, (AC) as it not only provides immunity against their STAB moves, (AC) but also acts as a great late-game win condition being able to take on attackers such as Zeraora and Alolan Raichu.

Team Options
========

All of its teammates appreciate the Electric-type immunity Gliscor provides, being able to act as a status absorber and Knock Off switch-in after it has been poisoned, and along with its ability to clear hazards with Defog. Celesteela can take on troublesome Ice-types such as Weavile and Alolan Ninetales for Gliscor by providing it with neutrality to the type while also being able to OHKO them with Heavy Slam. Mega Aerodactyl and Choice Scarf Landorus-T act as the teams Speed control, (AC) being able to outspeed threatening Pokemon such as Tapu Koko and Alolan Raichu outside of Electric Terrain while also being able to set Stealth Rock. Mega Aerodactyl also can Pursuit trap threats such as Victini for Gliscor, alleviating some pressure off Gliscor as a wall for the team. Mantine provides neutrality to Ice-type attacks and immunity to Water-type attacks, (AC) allowing it to easily switch into Pokemon that threaten Gliscor such as Greninja. It also forms the best Defog core with Gliscor, (AC) as they can clear hazards against every type due to their strong defensive synergy. It also alleviates the pressure for Gliscor to deal with special attackers like the aforementioned Latios. Zapdos appreciates Gliscor to act as the team's Defogger, (AC) allowing it to run better sets such as Substitute+Toxic. Gliscor in return appreciates this as with Zapdos's ability to cripple walls such as Hippowdon with Toxic, allowing it to more effectively stallbreak alongside Taunt.

Knock Off allows Gliscor to break walls better by removing their item, (AC) such as Chansey's Eviolite. Stealth Rock can also be run to free up a slot for other teammates such as Mega Aerodactyl. Although, running Knock Off or Stealth Rock means forgoing Taunt, which lets would let walls easily recover off damage on it and becomes make Gliscor far too passive. Gliscor can also run Toxic, which allows it to stallbreak better alongside Taunt allowing it to chip walls such as Mandibuzz faster. However, this means giving up Defog, which gives Flying teams a better chance in the Electric matchup. Swords Dance can be run instead of a stallbreaker set, (AC) allowing it to become a threatening setup sweeper with a host of different options being able to run such as Ice Fang to take on other Flying teams better, Knock Off to remove walls items and hit Psychic-type Pokemon such as like Latios, or Facade to take advantage of its permanent status condition.

**Ice-Ttypes**: Ice-type Pokemon such as Weavile and Mamoswine threaten to OHKO Gliscor with their Ice-type STAB attacks. Kyurem-B is especially threatening because of its additional coverage in Fusion Bolt, (AC) allowing it to hit the entire Flying team for super effective damage.

*Water-types**: Offensive Water-type Pokemon such as Keldeo threaten to OHKO Gliscor with STAB Hydro Pump, while more defensive Water-type Pokemon such as Mantine and Swampert can threaten to burn Gliscor with Scald before it has been Toxic badly poisoned.

**Ground Immunities**: Due to Gliscor's only attack being Earthquake, (AC) all Flying-type Pokemon and those with the ability Levitate such as Hydreigon and Celesteela completely wall Gliscor. Rotom-W especially annoys Gliscor, (AC) as it can cripple it with Will-O-Wisp before being badly poisoned and can do lots of damage with Hydro Pump.

**Wallbreakers**: Wallbreakers such as Choice Band Dragonite and Mega Sharpedo can easily break past Gliscor's defenses and threaten to do tons of damage to it and or outright OHKO it with their powerful STAB and coverage moves.

**Faster Taunt Users**: Faster Taunt users such as Deoxys-S and Crobat can prevent Gliscor from performing many of roles, (AC) such as like clearing hazards with Defog or recovering off its health with Roost.

Flying
========

Gliscor is a fantastic wall thanks to its great natural bulk, access to reliable recovery, and Poison Heal which allows it to act as a ability to act as a status absorber thanks to Poison Heal (original would've led to awkward commas imo). This allows it to act as a blanket check to tons of threats to Flying teams such as Latios, (AC) by being able to switch into its Draco Meteor, (AC) and Zeraora, (AC) being able to wall Pokemon such as Zeraora which it walls. Its Ground typing provides Flying teams with an immunity to Electric-type coverage and a neutrality to Stealth Rock, (AC) which allows Gliscor to become an excellent Defogger Pokemon for the type. With access to Taunt, Gliscor can act as a stallbreaker by preventing walls from recovering off health and slowly wearing walls down such as Chansey with Earthquake allowing it act as a stallbreaker (RC) while also being able to prevent Pokemon such as Hippowdon from setting up Stealth Rock. However, while Gliscor brings all these amazing attributes to the team, (AC) it stacks the type's (add apostrophe) natural weakness to Ice-type coverage and can be taken advantage by faster setup sweepers such as Mega Latias.
