Welcome to the official SM CAP Analysis Reservation thread! Here, you may reserve analyses for Pokemon that you are knowledgeable about and wish to contribute an analysis for.

The Quality Control (QC) Team
  • The Quality Control team is responsible for ensuring that every CAP analysis is up to the high standards Smogon expects for its content. These analyses are being viewed by thousands of individuals across the world, so a high standard of quality is necessary.
  • If the QC team does not think your analysis is up to on-site standards, they have the right to reassign or reject it. Make sure you familiarize yourself with C&C standards if you wish to prevent this from being the case.
  • Likewise, the QC team will reassign analyses for inactivity, so make sure you're on top of your work.
The CAP QC Team:
Reservation Rules
  • You may reserve up to three analyses at a time, as long as the writer requesting to reserve this many is deemed responsible enough by QC to handle this many at once. Quality Control members may reserve more than this limit but are still expected to complete their analyses in a timely manner.
  • Additional reservations cannot be made until your current analyses are posted and in the written stage.
  • Post in this thread with your analysis reservations. Pay attention to the posts in front of you in case the list is not updated.
  • Do not edit your posts in this thread after an extended period of time. Double post if you wish to unreserve your Pokemon or select another one instead.
  • If a Pokemon is not on the reservation list and you strongly believe it deserves a CAP analysis, post in this thread with a thorough explanation as to why and the Quality Control team will address it.
Analysis Thread Tags

When you post your thread, please use the appropriate tags for each stage of the analysis:

Work in Progress: The skeleton is incomplete and is not ready for the QC Team to evaluate. Keep in mind that the longer your analysis stays in WIP stage, the greater the chance of it being reassigned. Do not be lazy.

Quality Control Ready: In the thread title, include [QC 0/3]. Include (Revamp) or (Set Name) if the analysis falls under either of those categories. The format is Name (Revamp/Set Name if applicable) [QC 0/3]. The skeleton is complete in bullet point form and now needs to seek approval by the QC Team. Make sure you update the thread title with the number of QC checks you currently have. ONLY WHEN YOU REACH TWO QC APPROVALS MAY YOU BEGIN WRITING THE ANALYSIS IN PARAGRAPH FORM, OTHERWISE THE ANALYSIS REMAINS IN BULLET POINTS. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THE THIRD QC CHECK UNTIL THE ANALYSIS IS WRITTEN.

Grammar-Prose Ready: In the set title, remove [QC 3/3] and include [GP 0/2]. The three required QC approvals have been met. The Grammar-Prose team now takes over. When you are ready for a GP check, please post in the Grammar-Prose Queue with a link to your analysis.

After the analysis gets two GP stamps, the analysis is ready for upload.

Please update your thread's tags and stamp number as you move along the process.

Reservation List

After reserving a Pokemon, you must post your analysis in a timely fashion. Your analysis thread must be up in 72 hours (3 days) or your reservation will be dropped. If you have any extenuating circumstances that prevent you from getting up your thread within this time frame, please notify an active member of the QC team. Pokemon analyses will be categorized under the following headings:
  • Unreserved: The Pokemon has yet to be claimed.
  • Reserved: The Pokemon is claimed by someone.
  • In Progress: The Pokemon's analysis has been posted and is going through the process.
  • Completed: The Pokemon's analysis is complete and is awaiting upload.
In addition to these categories, Pokemon will also be order by how how important it is to get their analysis up.
  • Highest: The Pokemon is a CAP and must have a high quality analysis before USUM comes out. If you are an experienced writer, we'll request that you reserve at least one of these. Due to the importance of these Pokemon, if you're inexperienced, we may reject you for these.
  • High: The Pokemon is ranked highly in the CAP Viability Rankings (A+ and up), and are the highest priority to be written next to the CAPs. Due to the importance of these Pokemon, we may reject inexperienced writers for these.
  • Middle: The Pokemon is relevant in the metagame (A- and A), but not as important to finish as the above ranked Pokemon. If you're an inexperienced writer, we encourage you to pick up one of these Pokemon.
  • Low: The Pokemon is relevant, but not nearly as important to have an analysis for as the above three categories. As a result of the time crunch we're on due to CAP updates and the upcoming USUM games, we'll be actively rejecting requests to reserve these Pokemon until the majority of the other categorized Pokemon have been reserved or completed. If you're dead set on doing one of these, contact a QC member and give us a reasonable explanation why you should write the analysis, and we may allow it.
If a Pokemon's name is colored red, it may only be reserved by current members of the QC team due to the analysis likely being incredibly complicated.

May I take Malaconda? I have no problem withdrawing this reservation or working alongside if someone also has designs on it. (PM to save clogging thread, please and thanks! :)).

Reviloja753 I'd like you to start with a middle priority analysis before you do a CAP analysis. If you have further questions PM me about it.
In response to your question about uploads, the non CAP analyses get uploaded to the onsite Smogdex, like this http://www.smogon.com/dex/xy/pokemon/talonflame/cap/. CAPs aren't implemented on the current Smogdex, so the analyses get uploaded to the strategy tab of the CAP website, like this http://www.smogon.com/cap/pokemon/strategies/mollux.

Similiarly Hesh Kadesh, I'd like to see you start out with a less important middle priority analysis as your first instead of one of the CAPs. If you have further questions PM me about it.

I'm also grabbing the Colossoil analysis in addition to my prior Kerfluffle and Syclant reservations.

I just want to remind everyone that you put [QC 0/3] into the title of your analysis when you're ready to be QC checked, and not when you're analysis is still a work in progress.

Requesting Rotom-Wash and *Ferrothorn

Ferrothorn is not on the unreserved list nor is it on the Reserved list Thus I can conclude it is low priority which I disagree with. Ferrothorn is not only a wonderful bulky hazard setter but it is a common answer to many Physical attackers in the tier. It is able to pressure a lot of different play styles and teams within the metagame thus making it imo analysis worthy.

Can I reserve Krilowatt? It's not listed on the analysis reservation, but imo it's a very good cleaner in the current meta thanks to it's great movepool, Magic Guard, and Volt Switch.
