[OVERVIEW]

Thanks to its good bulk and high power, Eelektross can become a solid pivot with Assault Vest. In particular, it makes for a very strong check to Ludicolo, Archeops, and Hidden Power variants of Lilligant. Eelektross's Levitate ability also essentially leaves it with no weaknesses outside of Mold Breaker Earthquake and lets it check, if not outright counter Ground-types such as Golurk and Palossand. A fantastic movepool including Giga Drain and Flamethrower gives Eelektross reliable options against Regirock and Ferroseed, and it possesses utility options like Knock Off to support the team. Finally, a strong and slow STAB Volt Switch helps Eelektross be a great pivot. However, Eelektross is worn down far quicker than you think due to a lack of reliable recovery and vulnerability to Toxic. Also, it faces competition as an Electric-type pivot with Lanturn, which has Scald, access to moves like Heal Bell, a resistance to Fire-type attacks, and an immunity to Electric-type moves, though Lanturn lacks an immunity to Spikes and Toxic Spikes and can't hit both Gastrodon and Ferroseed with the same set, which are points in Eelektross's favor.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

A STAB Volt Switch from Eelektross is strong and allows it to pivot with ease, and Eelektross's rather low Speed helps matters. Volt Switch is good particularly when the opponent sends in something that can check Eelektross like Assault Vest Hitmonchan. Giga Drain allows Eelektross to hit Pokemon such as Palossand, Lanturn, and Regirock for super effective damage while recovering HP. Flamethrower hits Steel-types and Grass-types such as Mawile and Torterra, which don't take much from the rest of Eelektross's moveset. The last move depends on preference. Knock Off is a utility option useful against Eviolite users such as Type: Null, Clefairy, and Gurdurr as well as opposing Assault Vest users like Magmortar, while Thunderbolt is a very strong STAB move that is useful for when Eelektross doesn't want to switch out and can pick up 2HKOs on Pokemon such as Skuntank that Eelektross's other moves cannot.

Set Details
========

Levitate is Eelektross's only ability, but it's still a very good one, allowing it to switch in on Ground-type attacks. Assault Vest gives Eelektross a decent amount of special bulk. 252 HP EVs complement this. Maximum Special Attack investment allows Eelektross to not be too passive and hit as hard as possible, and a Modest nature increases Eelektross's power on top of this.

Usage Tips
========

Eelektross can beat a lot of common leads, such as Mesprit and Qwilfish. Use Volt Switch when the current matchup isn't much in your favor or if the opponent is about to send in a check such as Alolan Exeggutor. Use Giga Drain when you predict an Electric-immune Pokemon like Lanturn or Gastrodon to switch in. Knock Off is often useful, as the removal of items is very annoying for the opposing team, particularly against bulky Pokemon such as those with Eviolite and Assault Vest like Type: Null and Magmortar. However, it is best not to let Eelektross get hit by a Knock Off from an opposing Pokemon, as without Assault Vest it is much less bulky. It's best not to get too reckless with keeping Eelektross in. Keeping it at a high HP is essential to check multiple Pokemon consistently throughout the course of the match, such as against a team with both Lilligant and Archeops.

Team Options
========

Eelektross's coverage options can force a lot of switches. Thus, Toxic Spikes and Spikes setters such as Weezing and Qwilfish as well as Stealth Rock setters such as Mesprit and Regirock can be used to take advantage of this. Wallbreakers that have trouble coming in safely such as Archeops, Zangoose, and Drampa really like Eelektross's slow Volt Switch. A U-turn user can be quite a good addition, as they tend to pair well with Eelektross's Volt Switch, creating a VoltTurn core and helping to pressure the opposing team. Examples of these include Primeape and Oricorio-G. Wish users such as Audino are suitable options on more defensive builds to help Eelektross's vulnerability to being worn down. Audino also has access to Heal Bell, negating Eelektross's vulnerability to Toxic. Healing Wish users such as Mesprit and Z-Parting Shot users such as Alolan Persian can also work in this regard on more offensive builds. A physically defensive Pokemon such as Weezing or Sableye complements Eelektross's ability to be a special wall. Finally, Dragon-type checks such as Clefairy, Silvally-Fairy, and Soundproof Mr. Mime can help Eelektross against troublesome matchups to it such as against Drampa and Alolan Exeggutor.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Thanks to its expansive movepool and decent offensive stats, Eelektross has a lot of tools up its sleeve. Choice Specs is a neat option to make use of Eelektross's good movepool and slow Volt Switch. It lacks access to Trick or other moves, however, so it's generally passed aside in favor of Rotom-F, which also has Levitate and Ice STAB to hit Dragon-type Pokemon, or Manectric, which is much faster and also has Fire-type coverage. Acid Spray can be used over Knock Off on the Assault Vest set to help wear down certain special walls such as Audino and Clefairy. Hidden Power Ice can be used in the last slot to hit Dragon-types like Alolan Exeggutor. Eelektross's higher Attack as well as options like Knock Off, U-turn, and Drain Punch could make a physically offensive Assault Vest set viable. On such sets, Thunder Punch is preferred as the STAB move over Wild Charge to prevent Eelektross from getting worn down as fast. Superpower can be used in the fourth slot with a Quiet nature to hit Drampa, Audino, and specially defensive Miltank, which generally wall Eelektross, but the Defense drop can be troublesome for Eelektross, so it's mainly used to KO common Pokemon that Eelektross lures in. Dragon Tail is another utility option that allows Eelektross to phaze, and it can be used against setup sweepers such as Type: Null. Physically offensive Eelektross can also run Coil combined with a Fightinium Z and Superpower or Drain Punch to surprise and break through its specially defensive checks, but it isn't fast enough for a sweeper and gets worn down too quickly, even if running Drain Punch. Finally, a RestTalk set with Leftovers slightly patches up Eelektross's vulnerability to status and gives it recovery, albeit an unreliable method. In general, Leftovers can be run over Assault Vest if you feel that the slight recovery is more appreciated than the additional special bulk.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Due to Eelektross being worn down quite quickly, Pokemon such as Pinsir and Zangoose can easily KO it. Pinsir in particular also carries Mold Breaker, making it able to hit and KO Eelektross with Earthquake after chip damage, but it has to watch out for Flamethrower, which has a huge chance of OHKOing it back.

**Status**: Eelektross's lack of reliable recovery or a way to heal status make it vulnerable to moves like Scald, Will-O-Wisp, and especially Toxic.

**Dragon-types**: The likes of Drampa, Alolan Exeggutor, and Turtonator can easily switch in to a specially based Eelektross set due to their resistances to Eelektross's moveset.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: If Eelektross is not running Knock Off, the likes of Clefairy, Audino, Miltank, Assault Vest Hitmonchan, and Type: Null can wall it. Even with Knock Off, though, they are still very reliable switch-ins and can either wear it down, set up on it, or KO it outright. Eelektross can easily Volt Switch out of a lot of these, however. Camerupt is a niche option that is immune to Volt Switch, can tank a Giga Drain or Flamethrower, and can hit back with Lava Plume or wear Eelektross down with Toxic.

Melons-N-Soda this analysis is almost done, can you get it out of WIP soon?
e: also delete the coil set, it's really really bad.

  • "Faces competition with other Electric-types in the tier such as Manectric, Rotom-Frost, and Zebstrika due to them having higher speed and better support movepools. As a pivot, it also faces competition with Lanturn, who has Scald and an immunity to Electric-type moves." the support movepool bit applies to lanturn too, and not actually the other electric-types you've mentioned. the others are just faster and in rotom-f's case it has a secondary typing that lets it get past dragons well.
  • talk about how it can check archeops well since it's not 2hkod by any attack barring the occasional stone edge, that's kind of a big deal too
Team Options
========
  • the first bullet point is really general doesn't really tell anybody who it exactly pairs well with.
  • i think you over-emphasize the need for hazard control as eelektross is only vulnerable to stealth rock. it's an ideal source of team support for sure, but i wouldn't exactly say "needed"
  • mention wishpassers, they're cool because they help keep you healthy to more actively take on the likes of ground-types and archeops better
  • eel forces lots of switches due to its coverage, so maybe talk about hazard users that can help with eel putting pressure vs the opposing team
  • on your point about frail pokemon, the focus should be more about wallbreakers that appreciate eel's ability to give them a free volt switch, so i'd look for stronger mentions than primape such as drampa (though primape offers a u-turn core to help pressure the opposing team, so maybe save that for a separate bullet point)

Other Options

  • acid spray in oo
  • choice band can lure a lot of its specially defensive checks like chan and clef
Checks and Counters
===================
  • don't see how lanturn would warrant its own section since the combination of giga drain and knock off can allow you to outlast basically any set
  • add a **Specially Defensive Pokemon** section, mention stuff like type null, audino, av hitmonchan, clefairy, etc. some risk getting knocked off but they still take it on exceptionally well regardless
other than that nice work!

[OVERVIEW]

  • Thanks to its Levitate ability and movepool, it can check many Pokemon other Electric-types in the tier can not, such as Piloswine. Unlike Rotom-Frost and Rotom-Fan, it doesn't carry a weakness to Stealth Rock, and unlike Lanturn, it can beat a lot of Grass-types one on one. list examples of the grass-types
  • In particular, it makes for a very strong check for Taunt Archeops. Eelektross can easily switch in to any move besides Stone Edge and easily OHKO with Volt Switch. Archeops isnt really going to stay in on Eeletross so I think you should rephrase the last part. maybe say something like keep up momentum?
  • No weakness
  • A strong and slow STAB Volt Switch help it be a great pivot. and it can also beat ground-types which is huge
  • Worn down far quicker than you think due to a lack of reliable recovery.
  • Faces competition with other Electric-types in the tier such as Manectric, Rotom-Frost, and Zebstrika due to them having higher speed. As a pivot, it also faces competition with Lanturn, who has Scald, access to moves like Heal Bell, and an immunity to Electric-type moves.

Moves
========

  • A Volt Switch from Eelektross is strong and allows it to pivot with ease. It being rather slow helps matters. expand on this by saying Volt on x mon imo
  • Giga Drain allows Eelektross to hit Pokemon such as Piloswine and Golem for super effective damage. Would say Regirock just because thats a bit more relevant. also say it restores a bit of damage which is nice because it lacks reliable reovery
  • Flamethrower hits Steel-types and Grass-types, often for very high damage. Mention examples like Ferroseed and Mawile
  • The last move depends on preference. Knock Off is a utility option useful against Eviolite Pokemon such as Type:Null and Gurdurr, as well as opposing Assault Vest users like Magmortar, while Thunderbolt is a very strong STAB move that is useful for when you don't want to switch out. Expand on tbolt and say knock is good also for bulky things like clef imo
Set Details
========

  • Assault Vest gives Eelektross a decent amount of Special bulk. 252 HP EVs are meant to complement this.
  • Max Special Attack prevents Eelektross from being too weak. or say "makes it as strong as possible"
  • Lastly, the nature depends on the move in the last slot. If Knock Off is used, Quiet is preferred, while if Thunderbolt is used, Modest is preferred.

Usage Tips
========

  • Eelektross can beat a lot of common leads, such as Mesprit and Qwilfish.
  • Volt Switch when the current state of the game isn't much in your favor or if the opponent is about to send in a check such as Alolan Exeggutor. Emphasize that it should be use as an offensive pivot
  • When an Electric-immune Pokemon such as a Ground-type or Lanturn is in play, use Giga Drain. It also gains back some of your health.
  • Use Knock Off when Pokemon that rely on Eviolite to function or the likes of Assault Vest Lanturn are on the opponent teams. you could also use giga drain on lanturn, rephrase the last part imo

Team Options
========

  • Eelektross' coverage options can force a lot of switch-ins. As such, hazard setters such as Weezing, Qwilfish, Mesprit, or Piloswine can be used to take advantage of this.
  • Frail wallbreakers such as Archeops, Zangoose or Drampa really like Eelektross' slow Volt Switch.
  • A U-turn user can be quite a good addition as they tend to pair well with Eelektross' Volt Switch, as they help in pressuring the opposing team. Examples of these include Primeape and Oricorio-Sensu. they also form voltturn cores
  • Wish users such as Komala and Audino are suitable options on more defensive builds to help Eelektross' vulnerability to being worn down. Healing Wish and Z-Parting Shot users such as Mesprit and Alolan Persian can also work in this regard on more offensive builds. add Audino also acts as a cleric
  • A Dragon-type check such as Granbull, Silvally-Fairy, or Mawile can help Eelektross against troublesome matchups to it such as with Drampa or Altaria. i would remove altaria example. granbull, silvally fairy and mawile also lose to drampa if it preditcts correctly, so pick diff examples imo

  • Physically offensive Eelektross sets can utilize Coil with Fightinium-Z combined with Superpower or Drain Punch, but they are often too weak to make much use of during a match, sets without Drain Punch get worn down too quickly for a sweeper, and it isn't nearly fast enough compared to similar sweepers like Zangoose. coil is really bad tho so remove imo

Checks and Counters
===================

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Without Knock Off, the likes of Clefairy, Assault Vest Hitmonchan, and Type:Null can wall Eelektross for days. Even with Knock Off though, they are still very reliable switch-ins and can either wear it down, set up on it, or KO it outright. I mean dont you volt switch on all of these mons regardless?

**Dragon-types**: The likes of Drampa, Alolan Exeggutor and Turtonator can easily switch in to a Specially based Eelektross set due to their resistances to Eelektross' movepool.

**Strong Attackers**: Due to being worn down quite quickly, Pokemon such as Pinsir and Zangoose can easily KO it. Pinsir in particular also carries Mold Breaker, making it able to hit Eelektross with Earthquake, but it has to watch out for Flamethrower.

  • Use Knock Off when Pokemon that rely on Eviolite to function or the likes of Assault Vest Magmortar are on the opponent teams.
this is p small and doesn't cover a ton. u can talk about how eel can 1v1 a lot but might want to stay healthy for checking specific things (like if u beat arch ur too weak to stop a ludicolo or somth), being careful to not get pursuit trapped, and also the kind of pokemon u wanna volt switch into. feel free to mention more, these are just a couple of useful things to talk about but this could definitely be larger

phys def things, especially normal checks, since that's basically how u wanna get thru eelektross

u can also mention the coil z-set that got dropped here, rest/talk, dragon tail (generally annoying), superpower (drampa), and just running lefties over av

Checks and Counters
=================== checks and counters is ordered by how well somth checks/counters the mon. i would reverse the order here, spdef mons are good stops but since eel volts out on like all of them they arent so bad. strong phys attackers are basically the main way u wanna be breaking this thing

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Without Knock Off, the likes of Clefairy, Assault Vest Hitmonchan, and Type:Null can wall Eelektross. Even with Knock Off though, they are still very reliable switch-ins and can either wear it down, set up on it, or KO it outright. Eelektross can easily Volt Switch out of a lot of these, however. More niche options like Gabite and Camerupt are immune to Volt Switch and can tank a Giga Drain or Flamethrower and hit back with their other STAB. i don't know why ur mentioning stuff like gabite and camerupt when there's good spdef stops like miltank and audino that make eel v non-threatening. the point u should be making here is that all these spdef things like clef, miltank, av chan, w/e totally wall it but eel can still gain momentum so they aren't so bad. i would mention camerupt separately, but not gabite fsr

**Dragon-types**: The likes of Drampa, Alolan Exeggutor and Turtonator can easily switch in to a Specially based Eelektross set due to their resistances to Eelektross' movepool.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Due to being worn down quite quickly, Pokemon such as Pinsir and Zangoose can easily KO it. Pinsir in particular also carries Mold Breaker, making it able to hit Eelektross with Earthquake, but it has to watch out for Flamethrower.

  • A RestTalk set with Leftovers slightly patches up its vulnerability to status and gives it recovery, albeit an unreliable method. In general, Leftovers can be run over Assault Vest if you feel like the slight recovery is more appreciated than the additional Special bulk.

Checks and Counters
===================

(i'd mention that pinsir requires chip because eel has a 60% chance to ohko with flamethrower)

**Dragon-types**: The likes of Drampa, Alolan Exeggutor and Turtonator can easily switch in to a Specially based Eelektross set due to their resistances to Eelektross' movepool.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Without Knock Off, the likes of Clefairy, Audino, Miltank, Assault Vest Hitmonchan, and Type:Null can wall Eelektross. Even with Knock Off though, they are still very reliable switch-ins and can either wear it down, set up on it, or KO it outright. Eelektross can easily Volt Switch out of a lot of these, however. Camerupt is a niche option that is immune to Volt Switch, can tank a Giga Drain or Flamethrower, and can hit back with Lava Plume or wear Eelektross down with Toxic.

[OVERVIEW]

Eelektross is an interesting Pokemon in the SM PU metagame. Thanks to Assault Vest, Eelektross can become a solid pivot, due to having good bulk and high power. In particular, it makes for a very strong check to the likes of Ludicolo, Archeops, and Hidden Power variants of Lilligant. Eelektross' Levitate ability also essentially gives it no weaknesses outside of Mold Breaker Earthquake, and lets it check if not outright counter Ground-types such as Golurk and Piloswine. In addition, its movepool is fantastic. Giga Drain and Flamethrower give Eelektross reliable options against the likes of Regirock and Ferroseed respectively, and it possesses utility options like Knock Off to support the team. Finally, a strong and slow STAB Volt Switch help Eelektross be a great pivot. However, Eelektross is worn down far quicker than you think due to a lack of reliable recovery. It also is vulnerable to Toxic. Also, it faces competition as an Electric-type pivot with Lanturn, who has Scald, access to moves like Heal Bell, and an immunity to Electric-type moves. also a better Fire resist due to its typing, but can't deal with Ferroseed and Gastrodon at the same time due to having to pick HP Fire or Ice.

Moves
========

A STAB Volt Switch from Eelektross is strong and allows it to pivot with ease. It being rather slow helps matters. Volt Switch is good particularly when the opponent sends in something that can check Eelektross like Assault Vest Hitmonchan or Drampa. Giga Drain allows Eelektross to hit Pokemon such as Piloswine, Lanturn, and Regirock for super effective damage. It also recovers health. Flamethrower hits Steel-types and Grass-types such as Mawile and Torterra, who otherwise resist Eelektross' movepool. The last move depends on preference. Knock Off is a utility option useful against Eviolite Pokemon such as Type:Null, Clefairy, and Gurdurr, as well as opposing Assault Vest users like Magmortar, while Thunderbolt is a very strong STAB move that is useful for when you don't want to switch out and can pick up 2HKOs that Eelektross' other moves can not, such as a guaranteed one against Skuntank.

Set Details
========

Levitate is Eelektross' only ability, but still a very good one, allowing it to switch in on Ground-type attacks. Assault Vest gives Eelektross a decent amount of Special bulk. 252 HP EVs are meant to complement this. Max Special Attack allows Eelektross to not be too passive and hit as hard as possible. Lastly, the nature depends on the move in the last slot. If Knock Off is used, Quiet is preferred in order to not reduce bulk or power, while if Thunderbolt is used, Modest is preferred.
adjust this to what i said in the Nature part
Usage Tips
========

Eelektross can beat a lot of common leads, such as Mesprit and Qwilfish. Volt Switch when the current matchup isn't much in your favor or if the opponent is about to send in a check such as Alolan Exeggutor. When an Electric-immune Pokemon such as a Ground-type or Lanturn is in play, use Giga Drain. rephrase this a bit to more like "Use Giga Drain to predict a switch into something like Lanturn or Gastrodon."Knock Off is useful to use at most moments as the removal of items is very annoying for the opposing team, particularly against bulky Pokemon such as those with Eviolite or Assault Vest like Type:Null or Magmortar. However, it is best not to let Eelektross get hit by a Knock Off from an opposing Pokemon, as without Assault Vest it is much less bulky. Its best not to get too reckless with keeping Eelektross in. Keeping it at good health is essential to check multiple Pokemon consistently throughout the course of the match, such as against a team with both Lilligant and Archeops.

Team Options
========

Eelektross' coverage options can force a lot of switch-ins. As such, Toxic Spikes and Spikes setters such as Weezing, or Qwilfish, and Stealth Rock setters such as Mesprit, or Piloswine can be used to take advantage of this. Wallbreakers that have trouble coming in safely such as Archeops, Zangoose or Drampa really like Eelektross' slow Volt Switch. A U-turn user can be quite a good addition as they tend to pair well with Eelektross' Volt Switch, creating a VoltTurn core and helping in pressuring the opposing team. Examples of these include Primeape and Oricorio-Sensu. Wish users such as Audino are suitable options on more defensive builds to help Eelektross' vulnerability to being worn down. Audino also has access to Heal Bell, negating Eelektross' vulnerability to Toxic. Healing Wish and Z-Parting Shot users such as Mesprit and Alolan Persian can also work in this regard on more offensive builds. A Physically Defensive Pokemon such as Weezing or Sableye complements Eelektross' ability to wall on the Special side. Finally, Dragon-type check such as Clefairy, Silvally-Fairy, or Soundproof Mr. Mime can help Eelektross against troublesome matchups to it such as with Drampa or Alolan Exeggutor.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Thanks to its expansive movepool and decent offensive stats, Eelektross has a lot of tools up its sleeve. Choice Specs is a neat option for Eelektross' good movepool, and a slow Volt Switch. It lacks access to Trick or other such moves, however, so its generally passed aside in favor of Rotom-Frost, which also has Levitate and an Ice-type to hit Dragon-type Pokemon or Manectric, which is much faster and also has Fire-type coverage. Acid Spray can be used over Knock Off on the Assault Vest set to help wear down certain Special walls such as Audino or Clefairy while keeping a Modest nature. Eelektross' higher Physical Attack as well as options like Knock Off, U-turn, and Drain Punch could make a physically offensive Assault Vest set viable. On such sets, Thunder Punch is preferred as the STAB over Wild Charge to make it not get worn down as fast. Superpower can be used in the fourth slot with a Quiet nature to hit Drampa, Audino, and Specially Defensive Miltank, who generally wall Eelektross, but the lowering of Defense can be troublesome for it, so its mainly a lure option. Dragon Tail is another utility option that allows it phase, and it can be used against set-up sweepers such as Alolan Exeggutor and Calm Mind Drampa. Physically offensive Eelektross can also run Coil combined with a Fightinium-Z to surprise and break through its Specially Defensive checks, but it isn't fast enough for a sweeper and gets worn down too quickly, even if running Drain Punch. Finally, a RestTalk set with Leftovers slightly patches up its vulnerability to status and gives it recovery, albeit an unreliable method. In general, Leftovers can be run over Assault Vest if you feel like the slight recovery is more appreciated than the additional Special bulk. HP Ice can make a mention here to hit Dragons harder mainly A-Exeggutor.

Checks and Counters

Pinsir in particular also carries Mold Breaker, making it able to hit and KO Eelektross with Earthquake after chip damage, but it has to watch out for Flamethrower, which has a huge chance of KOing Pinsir back.

**Dragon-types**: The likes of Drampa, Alolan Exeggutor and Turtonator can easily switch in to a Specially based Eelektross set due to their resistances to Eelektross' movepool.

make a seperate note on Status as Eelektross is worn down by Burn and Toxic damage.
