Deoxys-Attack (Revamp)

[OVERVIEW]
  • Deoxys's ridiculous speed and power cement its place as one of DOU's most threatening attackers. When combined with Tapu Lele's Psychic Surge, it's capable of OHKOing almost the entire metagame. The few threats that are capable of living a hit from it still take significant damage from its Z-move.
  • Deoxys has an expansive movepool, which grants it near perfect offensive coverage.
  • Despite all these positive traits, Deoxys has abysmal defenses, which leave it OHKOed by even the lightest of hits.
  • Furthermore, being a fast attacker, it is very susceptible to opposing speed control.
  • As such Deoxys fits on select hyper offensive teams, but when positioned properly, is a extremely potent threat.

Moves
========

  • Psycho Boost hits like a motherfucker.
  • Superpower is coverage for Dark- and Steel-types such as Tyranitar and Ferrothorn.
  • Since it often forces switches and Protect, Deoxys finds opportunities to Sub.
  • Protect lets an ally deal with a threatening opposing Pokemon. It also lets it stall out field conditions such as Rain and Trick Room.
Set Details
========

  • Ya boy gotta hit as hard and fast as possible with that spread and nature nawmean.
  • Psychium Z lets you kill any Pokemon you want. Not faint. Kill.
Usage Tips
========

  • Deoxys is best brought in after a Pokemon has fainted, since it can't switch in on attacks without fainting.
  • Works good early- or mid-game to punch holes in the opposing team.
  • Don't waste your Z on a Protect.
  • Sub on predicted switches or Protects.
Team Options
========

  • Tapu Lele is mandatory.
  • Celesteela checks are mandatory.
  • Tailwind support is recommended since Deoxys struggles versus faster attackers such as Choice Scarf users or weather sweepers.

Other Options
=============

  • HP Fire
  • Thunder + Electrium Z
  • Signal Beam
  • Shadow Ball
  • Knock Off
  • Stealth Rock
  • Focus Sash
  • Life Orb
Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Select Steel-types such as Celesteela and Mega Scizor can live a Psycho Boost and take neutral damage from Superpower. Both have to be wary of a Z Move or coverage moves, namely Thunder for Celesteela and Hidden Power Fire for Mega Scizor.

**Psychic-types**: Bulky Psychic-types like Cresselia

**Icy Wind, Tailwind, Thunder Wave, and Trick Room**:

**Faster Pokemon**:

**Priority Attackers**:

**Opposing Weather**:
