[OVERVIEW]

Cryogonal distinguishes itself from other Ice-types like Vanilluxe and Piloswine by being the fastest Rapid Spin user in the tier. Thanks to Levitate, it's immune to Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Sticky Web, making them easier for it to remove. Levitate also gives it a niche over other Rapid Spin users like Hitmonlee and Hitmontop. Unlike other Ice-types, Cryogonal has access to a healing move in Recover, improving its longevity. With its high Special Defense stat, it's able to take neutral special hits relatively well, even when uninvested. Cryogonal is one of the tier's best Ice-resistant Pokemon, letting it check Vanilluxe, one of the biggest threats in the metagame. Unfortunately, being weak to Stealth Rock means it'll take 25% damage upon switching in, thus hindering its role as a spinner as well as its ability to take hits. Cryogonal's physical frailty also makes it an easy target for physical attackers like Emboar and Hitmonlee. Fire-types are one of its main fears bacause its STAB moves don't threaten them. Furthermore, although it has the bulk and recovery to survive a few hits, Cryogonal's only resistance is Ice.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Rapid Spin lets Cryogonal clear entry hazards to support its teammates. Freeze-Dry lets it hit Water-types like Slowbro and Vaporeon super effectively, a trait that not many Ice-type possess. Freeze-Dry is significantly weaker than Ice Beam, however, having a lower chance of OHKOing Pokemon like Sceptile, Rotom-C, Sigilyph, and +1 Vivillon and being unable to 2HKO Golbat. Toxic cripples defensive answers that Cryogonal can't really hurt such as Assault Vest Incineroar and Piloswine. Alternatively, Ice Beam is Cryogonal's strongest STAB move and hits spinblockers the hardest. Recover allows it to tank special hits and stay healthy throughout the match.

Set Details
========

Maximum offensive investment with a Timid nature is preferred so that Cryogonal can use Rapid Spin before it faints in as many situations as possible and outspeed Sigilyph, +1 Scrafty, and positive-natured Pokemon with base 95 Speed. Levitate lets Cryogonal avoid Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Sticky Web, and Ground-type attacks. Never-Melt Ice boosts Cryogonal's STAB moves. Leftovers can be used to give it passive recovery and reduce its Stealth Rock weakness. Icium Z can be used to alleviate its Knock Off weakness slightly and give it a more favorable matchup versus some entry hazard setters, including Rhydon, Steelix, Garbodor, and Ferroseed, and hits common switch-ins very hard; for example, Emboar takes 45-53%, making it very difficult to switch into Cryogonal later on.

Usage Tips
========

Cryogonal's high Speed stat allows it to use Rapid Spin in emergency situations, and it can reliably spin on Pokemon it's able to threaten like Sceptile, Whimsicott, and Xatu. Cryogonal's good special bulk allows it to switch into defensive Pokemon such as Jellicent, Uxie, and Xatu. Use this as an opportunity to whittle them down with STAB moves or a utility move like Toxic or Knock Off. If the opponent has Spiritomb, be wary when you use Rapid Spin. Spiritomb can switch in on a predicted spin to block it and Pursuit trap Cryogonal. Use Recover on predicted weak special hits and Pokemon locked into Ice- or Ground-type attacks. When switching into Psychic-types, be careful of Psyshock, since Cryogonal is physically frail.

Team Options
========

Good teammates are Pokemon that appreciate entry hazards being removed from your side of the field such as Vivillon, Braviary, and Delphox. Offensive Water-types like Omastar and Samurott benefit from Cryogonal's ability to deal with Grass-types like Whimsicott and Rotom-C and bulky Water-types like Slowbro, Vaporeon, and Seismitoad. Partners that can take physical attacks, like Steelix and Slowbro, are a must. Incineroar in particular is a good teammate for Cryogonal. It can take on other Fire-types and beats the common Pursuit users. In return, Cryogonal beats Water-types with Freeze-Dry and removes hazards.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A defensive set with an EV spread of 252 HP / 224 Def / 32 Spe, a Bold nature, and Leftovers can be used on more defensive teams and has the bulk to survive two Leaf Storms from Choice Specs Rotom-C while also taking significantly less damage from Pursuit users. Alternatively, an EV spread of 248 HP / 104 SpD / 156 Spe, a Calm nature, and Leftovers let it take a Choice Specs-boosted Flash Cannon from Vanilluxe. Knock Off helps Cryogonal break through Pokemon it can't beat easily with Toxic and is a good utility move in general. Removing Golbat's Eviolite or Steelix's Leftovers can be very useful. Safety Goggles makes Cryogonal immune to Sleep Powder, letting it check Vivillon effectively while also switching in on Vileplume without many repercussions.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Stealth Rock**: Cryogonal loses 25% of its HP upon entering the field when Stealth Rock is up. This discourages it from switching in and thus hinders its job. Cryogonal is also not able to switch directly into Stealth Rock setters such as Rhydon and Steelix.

**Faster Physical Attackers**: Cryogonal's low Defense stat leaves it vulnerable to physical attackers like Virizion and Sneasel. On the other hand, fast physical attackers like Choice Scarf Hitmonlee and Choice Scarf Braviary don't safely switch into Cryogonal.

**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Emboar, Delphox, Incineroar, and Houndoom can switch into Cryogonal with almost no drawbacks, leaving Cryogonal with no choice other than switching out.

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types such as Hitmonlee and Thick Fat Hariyama can switch on a Freeze-Dry and force Cryogonal out.

**Bulky Setup Sweepers**: Cryogonal can be used as setup fodder for many threats like Calm Mind Delphox, Malamar, Scrafty, Klinklang, and Mega Audino.

**Froslass**: Froslass can freely set up multiple layers of Spikes versus Cryogonal. Cryogonal, being unable to remove said Spikes, must either switch out or try to weaken Froslass with Knock Off.

**Pursuit**: Pursuit users, such as Sneasel, Skuntank, and Houndoom, exploit Cryogonal's low Defense stat and trap it with Pursuit. Spiritomb in particular can not only trap it with Pursuit but also spinblock it.

-Overview
  • I'd like to see in here that Cryogonal is one of the most reliable Ice-type switch ins versus like Vanilluxe.
  • I need more then only Great Special Defense and immunity, like Regice has also amazing SpD you don't explain why you should use Cryogonal over Regice (just an example you shouldnt add this exactly). I'd hope to see more debt in why you should use Crygonal Like it's able to take on most Waters types/ Ice types etc.

-Moves
  • You probably should explain better why Ice Beam over Freeze-Dry is worth it like does it pick up kills what Freeze-Dry doesn't? Or 2 hit KO's. This doesn't explain for players why you should get rid of a move that is also able to hit water types.
  • I think it's good to give some examples with Knock Off why you should use it over Toxic like what is it able to cripple / annoy (example Scarf Emboar what normally is a free switch)
-Set Details
  • Why max SpA and max Spe with a Timid nature? Try to explain what that does like Modest doesn't outspeed Hitmonlee or something.
-Check and Counters
  • Add Spiritomb and explain why it's easily able to spinblock and trap it.
Last and that is just in general for everything, try to write it as you have give it to someone who doesn't know anything about Cryogonal or what it does. So please read it yourself and think what should a player that doesn't know anything about this mon going to understand it or should I include somethings more to specific this and that.

Also I still want also a bulky spread xd.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Fastest Rapid Spin user in the tier. Disntinguishing itself from other Ice-types. maybe a bit nitpicky but scarf hitmonlee is viable and faster as a spinner. You can just say "fast spin"
  • Immune to Spikes, Toxic Spikes and Sticky Web.
  • Has reliable recovery unlike most Ice-types. what's the recovery move
  • Struggles with Fire types. how does it struggle with fires
  • Great Special Defense and a good Ice resist.
  • Weakness to Stealth Rock. relevant to mention that it sucks that it's weak to rocks when it's a spinner
  • Although it has a buffed Defense stat, it still has rather frail Defense. Don't mention generational buffs. Just talk about the mon as it is in gen 7
  • Ice-type with access to Freeze Dry. Start out with positives and end with negatives
mention how cryo's typing doesn't have any defensive merit outside of the ice resistance

move 3: Rapid Spin

Order should be:
move 1: Rapid Spin
move 2: Freeze-Dry
move 3: Ice Beam / Toxic
move 4: Recover
because spinning is the main reason to use the set. Freeze-Dry, imo, is mandatory and I don't think Knock Off is as relevant nowadays since a lot of the mons you listed struggle with beating offensive Ice Beam anyhow.

Knock should probably just go to OO

  • Toxic cripples defensive answers that Cryogonal can't really hurt such as AV Incineroar and Piloswine. AV Incineroar can definitely hurt Cryo. I would just say it whittles down common switch-ins to Cryo.
  • Knock Off helps Cryogonal breaking through pokemon it can't beat easily with Toxic and is a good utility move in general. Knocking Off Meloetta's Choice Specs, Golbats Eviolite or Steelix' Leftovers can be very useful. as I said move it to oo

  • Never-Melt Ice boosts Cryogonals STAB move.
  • Leftovers gives it passive recovery and reduces its Stealth Rock weakness.

Usage Tips
========

  • Cryogonals high Speed stat allows it to Rapid Spin in difficult situations even sacrificing itself as a consequence. kind of awkwardly worded. I imagine your intent here is to say that cryo can use its Speed to Rapid Spin on a lot of different Pokemon, so try and list off stuff it can safely spin on and then maybe make another point about stuff it can suicide spin on
  • Cryogonals good Special bulk allows it to switch into defensive Pokemon such as Jellicent, Uxie and Xatu.
  • If the opponent has Spiritomb, be wary when you use Rapid Spin. Spiritomb can predict the Rapid Spin, block it and Pursuit-trap you.
  • Use Recover on defensive Pokemon or Pokemon locked into Ice and Ground-type attacks. this is kind of a gp thing, but "defensive pokemon" could mean stuff like lix or rhydon. try and rework the message to say "weaker special hits"
  • When switching into Psychic-types, try not to switch into Psyshock since Cryogonal is frail on the physical side.
  • Avoid switching into physical attackers at all costs. this is also kind of intuitive. it's like putting "don't switch rhydon into water-type attacks."

Team Options
========

  • Pokemon that appreciate hazards being removed on your side of the field such as Vivillon, Braviary and Delphox.
  • Offensive Water-types benefit from Cryogonals ability to deal with Grass-types and bulky Water-types. list some specific water-types
  • Partners that can take physical attacks are a must. list some partners that can take physical hits

once you implement this I'll check it real quick again to see if I have any complaints then I'll stamp

mention residual damage here, seriously. Rocks and Toxic especially are huge annoyances for cryo considering its role as a spinner and the pokemon it commonly switches in on
read through the analysis again too to make relevant mentions of Taunt Froslass. qc 2/3

There are Meloetta+Veil mentions in OO

While I agree with the logic behind the Spiritomb mention, I do question whether the 'mon as a whole has enough relevance+viability to warrant it being the sole spinblocker mentioned there. I think keep it but also mention Froslass, talking about how it resists Freeze Dry/Ice Beam and can set up Spikes while preventing Cryogonal from clearing them in the process; being able to check Lass defensively doesn't stop it using Cryog's mutual difficulty vs it to its own advantage.

Moves
========

Ice Beam is its Cryogonal's strongest STAB move and hits spinblockers the hardest. Freeze Dry lets it hit Water-types super effectively allowing it to hit like Slowbro and Vaporeon super effectively, a unique trait that not many Ice-type possess. Freeze Dry is significantly weaker than Ice Beam, however, having less a lower chance to OHKO of OHKOing Pokemon like Sceptile, Rotom-MowC, Sigilyph, and +1 SpD Vivillon and misses the being unable to 2HKO on Golbat. Rapid Spin lets it Cryogonal clear entry hazards. Recover gives it longevity and allows it to tank special hits and stay healthy throughout the match. Toxic cripples defensive answers that Cryogonal can't really hurt such as AV Incineroar and Piloswine.
(This section doesn't reflect the actual set at all. Why is Ice Beam first if it's a slashed move in the third slot? Why does it take so long to describe Rapid Spin? Restructure this to better match the set.)

Maximum offensive investment with a Timid nature is preferred. (period) so that Cryogonal can use Rapid Spin before it faints in as many situations as possible and outspeed Sigilyph, +1 Scrafty, and positive-natured Pokemon with base 95 Speed. Timid Nature lets you be as fast as possible to be able to Rapid Spin in emergency situations. Timid Nature also lets it outspeed Sigilyph, +1 Scrafty and base 95's with a positive speed nature. Levitate lets Cryogonal avoids Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Sticky Web, (comma) and Ground-type attacks. Never-Melt Ice boosts Cryogonal'(apo)s STAB moves. Leftovers can be used to gives it passive recovery and reduces its Stealth Rock weakness. Icium Z can be used to alleviate the its Knock Off weakness slightly and gives Cryogonal it a more favorable matchup versus some hazard setters, (comma) including e.g Rhydon, Steelix, Garbodor, and Ferroseed, and chunks hits common switches switch-ins very hard,; (semi) for example, (comma) Emboar takes 45-53%, making it very difficult to switch into Cryogonal later on.

Usage Tips
========

Cryogonal'(apo)s high Speed stat allows it to use Rapid Spin in emergency situations., (comma) and it Cryogonal can reliably spin on Pokemon it's able to threaten like Sceptile, Whimsicott, (comma) and Xatu. Cryogonal'(apo)s good special bulk allows it to switch into defensive Pokemon such as Jellicent, Uxie, (comma) and Xatu. Use this as an opportunity to whittle them down with STAB moves or a utility move like Toxic or Knock Off. If the opponent has Spiritomb, be wary when you use Rapid Spin. Spiritomb can predict the Rapid Spin, block it and Pursuit-trap you switch in on a predicted spin to block it, then Pursuit trap Cryogonal. Use Recover on predicted weaker special hits or and Pokemon locked into Ice-(hyphen) or and Ground-type attacks. When switching into Psychic-types, try not to switch into be careful of Psyshock, (comma) since Cryogonal is physically frail on the physical side.

Team Options
========

Good teammates are Pokemon that appreciate hazards being removed on from your side of the field such as Vivillon, Braviary, (comma) and Delphox. Offensive Water-types like Omastar and Samurott benefit from Cryogonal'(apo)s ability to deal with Grass-types like Whimsicott, (comma) and Rotom-MowC and bulky Water-types like Slowbro, Vaporeon, (comma) and Seismitoad. Partners that can take physical attacks, (comma) like Steelix and Slowbro, (comma) are a must. Incineroar in particular is a good teammate for Cryogonal. It can take on other Fire-types and beats the common Pursuit-(hyphen)users. In return, Cryogonal beats Water-types with Freeze Dry and removes hazards.

Other Options
=============

A defensive set with an EV spread of 252 HP / 224 Def / 32 Spe, a Bold nature, and Leftovers can be used on more defensive teams and has the bulk to survive two Leaf Storms from Choice Specs Rotom-MowC while also taking significantly less damage from Pursuit users. Alternatively, an EV spread of 248 HP / 104 SpDef / 156 Spe, a Calm nature, and Leftovers lets it take a Choice Specs Flash Cannon from Vanilluxe. Knock Off helps Cryogonal breaking through Pokemon it can't beat easily with Toxic and is a good utility move in general. Knocking Off Removing Golbat'(apo)s Eviolite or Steelix's Leftovers can be very useful. Safety Goggles makes it Cryogonal immune to Sleep Powder, letting it check Vivillon effectively while also switching in on Vileplume without many repercussions.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Stealth Rock**: Cryogonal receives 25% damage loses 25% of its HP upon entering the field when Stealth Rock is up. This limits discourages it from switching in and thus hindering hinders its job. Cryogonal is also not able to switch directly into Stealth Rock setters such as Rhydon and Steelix.

**Faster Physical Attackers**: Cryogonal'(apo)s low Defense stat leaves it vulnerable to physical attackers like Virizion and Sneasel. On the other hand, fast physical attackers like (Choice Scarf)Hitmonlee and (Choice Scarf)Braviary don't safely switch into Cryogonal.

**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Emboar, Delphox, Incineroar, and Houndoom can switch into Cryogonal with almost no drawbacks, leaving Cryogonal with no choice other than switching out.

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types such as Hitmonlee and Thick Fat Hariyama and Hitmonlee can switch on a Freeze-Dry and force Cryogonal out.

**Bulky Set-Up Setup Sweepers**: Cryogonal can be used as set-up setup fodder for many threats like Calm Mind Delphox, Malamar, Scrafty, Klinklang, and Mega Audino-Mega.

**Froslass**:(space)Froslass can freely set up multiple layers of Spikes versus Cryogonal. Cryogonal, being unable to spin remove said Spikes, must either switch out or try to weaken Froslass with Knock Off.

**Pursuit**: Pursuit users, such as Sneasel, Skuntank, and Houndoom, exploit Cryogonal'(apo)s low Defense stat and trap it with Pursuit. Spiritomb in particular can not only trap it with Pursuit but also prevents Cryogonal from using Rapid Spin spinblock it.
