[OVERVIEW]

Crustle is a good dedicated lead for hyper offensive teams due to its combination of Stealth Rock, Spikes, and the very useful ability Sturdy. Thanks to Sturdy, Crustle can run Mental Herb as an item, meaning it will always get up at least one entry hazard against teams lacking Xatu. Moreover, Crustle threatens most forms of hazard control, including Cryogonal, Golbat, Xatu, and Whimsicott, thanks to its access to the coveted boosting move Shell Smash and an effective Rock-type STAB attack. However, Crustle faces stiff competition from Stealth Rock setters that are far more consistent and provide better defensive utility, such as Rhydon, Omastar, Steelix, and Miltank, and thus is only viable on hyper offensive teams. Additionally, Crustle competes with dedicated leads such as Lycanroc, Smeargle, and Shuckle, which offer alternative attributes to teams such as Endeavor and Sticky Web. Unfortunately, Crustle also faces difficulty keeping up hazards versus bulkier teams, as it is frail, weak to hazards, and pressured by common defensive Defog and Rapid Spin users like Silvally-Water, Silvally-Steel, Rotom, and Blastoise, which have far better longevity than it.

Moves
========

With access to Sturdy, Crustle can safely set up Stealth Rock immediately and support its team. Spikes are a fantastic entry hazard that damage all grounded Pokemon and rack up a lot of residual damage in conjunction with Stealth Rock. Rock Blast threatens hazard removers and prevents Xatu from switching in freely. Lastly, Shell Smash allows Crustle to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame apart from Accelgor after a boost and KO common hazard control such as Xatu, Golbat, and Whimsicott while also giving it decent offensive presence.

Set Details
========

252 Attack EVs maximize Crustle's damage output, while 252 Speed EVs with a Jolly nature allow Crustle to outspeed Altaria and Garbodor. Sturdy helps Crustle take any single-hit move from full HP and almost always guarantees that Stealth Rock will go up. Mental Herb allows Crustle to set up an entry hazard in front of Taunt users such as Froslass and Mismagius. Alternatively, Crustle can run Weak Armor with Focus Sash to potentially amass Speed boosts upon being hit, thus outspeeding foes faster than it and setting up more layers of hazards.

Usage Tips
========

Crustle should be utilized as a dedicated lead that can quickly get up entry hazards until it is KOed for another team member to safely come in. However, if the opponent sends out something that Crustle can immediately KO with Rock Blast, such as Delphox or Cryogonal, it is often wiser to attack it straight away. Furthermore, Crustle must be used aggressively against Xatu teams. If you suspect that Xatu is going to switch in, you can either set up Shell Smash and threaten to OHKO it or simply throw off out a Rock Blast to dissuade it from switching in. If the opponent has a bulky hazard remover such as Silvally-Water, Blastoise, or Silvally-Steel, it is wiser to not lead with Crustle immediately and to save it for later on once they have been weakened. Crustle can also be preserved if hazards are off the field to serve as an emergency check to Belly Drum Zangoose and other threatening sweepers; this is all provided that Crustle has maintained Sturdy.

Team Options
=========

Crustle thrives on offensive teams that can keep up pressure versus entry hazard removers and take advantage of the residual damage that Spikes and Stealth Rock provide. Pokemon that can pressure these Defoggers include Delphox, Venusaur, Sceptile, Accelgor, Passimian, and Sigilyph, all of which also appreciate the residual damage chipping away at their checks. Ghost-types like Haunter, Mismagius, and Rotom work well with Crustle, as they can block any attempts at Rapid Spin as well as threaten a majority of Defoggers with their Ghost-type STAB attacks. Lastly, Malamar and Braviary can effectively dissuade Defog due to their respective abilities in Contrary and Defiant while also taking advantage of Crustle's hazards.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Crustle can attempt to run an all-out offensive Shell Smash set with Rockium Z and Rock Wrecker to lure and obliterate Slowbro; however, it has disappointing Speed even after a boost and can struggle to find setup opportunities due to its poor defensive typing and lopsided bulk. Earthquake is an option to prevent Crustle from being walled by Steel-types; however, Magnet Rise Klinklang can still use it as setup fodder, and Crustle doesn't have much room for it. Counter is a risky move that can catch a physical attacker off guard, but it generally isn't worth the moveslot.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Grass-types such as Sceptile and Venusaur can comfortably KO Crustle, limiting the number of hazards it gets up. Meanwhile Whimsicott can also threaten to KO Crustle or simply Defog away any entry hazards it may set.

**Bulky Rock- and Ground-types**: Rhydon, Palossand, Regirock, and Piloswine aren't threatened by Crustle at all and can proceed to set up their own Stealth Rock before KOing Crustle.

**Water-types**: Slowbro, Vaporeon, Slowking, and Samurott can all take hits from Crustle and KO it with their Water-type STAB moves. However, Crustle can usually get up two layers of hazards against slower, bulky Water-types. However, both Blastoise and Silvally-Water can easily clear hazards off the field and generally outlast Crustle.

**Steel-types**: Steelix takes absolutely no damage from Rock Blast and can set up Stealth Rock in Crustle's face. Klinklang can use Crustle as setup fodder, effectively preventing it from setting up hazards at the risk of being swept. Moreover, Silvally-Steel can 2HKO Crustle with Flash Cannon and comfortably Defog away its hazards.

The overview could probably mention the qualities it has over Omastar since you don't mention it at all and I think it's the pokemon that ressembles Crustle the most in terms of utility

Remove Sceptile and Exeggutor-Alola from C&C, use more relevant examples in the current metagame

Moreover, even on hyper offence, Crustle competes with dedicated leads such as Lycanroc and Smeargle which both offer alternative attributes to teams such as Endeavour and Sticky Web respectively.
Swap Lycanroc for SS Omastar. I wouldn't really say Lycanroc is at a viability point where they really compete.

Crustle also faces difficulty keeping up hazards versus bulkier teams as it is frail, weak to hazards, and pressured by common Defoggers like Silvally-Water and Silvally-Steel which have superior longevity.
With offensive teams now having options like Defog Whimsicott and Rotom, I'd list a few offensive defoggers here too and mention that it can struggle to keep hazards vs offensive teams too as it is used as a suicide lead.

EQ should be added to OO as it lets you chunk or straight up beat Steelix, and ohkos Klinklang.
Weak Armor with Sash can also be listed in OO

QC Check 2/3!

Looks good, just note that Max speed is needed to outrun the majority of the unboosted tier after a Smash.

Good Job: QC 3/3
