LC Aron

[OVERVIEW]

Thanks to Rock Head, Aron has access to a recoil-free 150-Base Power STAB move in Head Smash, which hits hard thanks to Aron's solid base 70 Attack. A great base 100 Defense allows Aron to survive strong physical hits, especially when coupled with an Eviolite. Its Steel / Rock typing gives it useful resistances, most notably to Fairy- and Flying-type attacks. However, its typing also gives it very common weaknesses to Water, Ground, and Fighting. Head Smash also has very low PP. It's difficult for Aron to set up on many things due to coverage moves such as Earthquake from Snubbull and Jump Kick from Doduo. Aron also has low Special Defense, meaning it can have a tough time switching in on special attacks. It faces competition from other setup sweepers that can be stronger and faster than a set-up Aron; Shell Smash users like Tirtouga and Shellder are particularly good examples. Aron also has very low Speed prior to a Rock Polish, meaning it can be KOed easily if it hasn't set up.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Rock Polish doubles Aron's Speed, which gives it a chance to sweep. Head Smash is a STAB move that hits everything extremely hard and can even OHKO or 2HKO Rock-resistant threats such as Mienfoo without Eviolite after Stealth Rock. Heavy Slam hits the majority of Little Cup for consistent damage thanks to Aron's heavy weight. However, Iron Head can be used for a more reliable attack that has a chance to cause foes to flinch and also hits Pokemon that are heavier than Aron such as Onix harder. Earthquake hits Steel-types such as Magnemite and Pawniard and has perfect coverage alongside Head Smash. Superpower can be used to OHKO Pawniard and hit Ferroseed, which otherwise walls Aron.

Set Details
========

With the given Speed EVs and a Jolly nature, Aron is fast enough to outspeed Timburr and Mareanie prior to setting up, and it is also able to outspeed Choice Scarf variants of Mienfoo and Pawniard at +2. Eviolite increases Aron's overall bulk, allowing it to survive Mach Punch from Timburr. The given Special Defense EVs allow Aron to take Vacuum Wave from Croagunk at full HP. Rock Head is important for allowing Aron to use Head Smash without recoil.

Usage Tips
========

Aron can switch into Pokemon that it defensively checks, such as Spritzee and Vullaby, as this allows it to immediately threaten the opposing switch-in with a strong Head Smash. Aron should be switched in on resisted hits like Moonblast or Brave Bird, as against Choice Scarf users like Doduo, this can usually force a switch, allowing it to get a free Rock Polish. Aron can use Head Smash against slower foes when it is at low HP to deal some damage before going down.

Team Options
========

Pokemon that resist Fighting-type moves, such as Spritzee and Snubbull, can help with Aron's 4x weakness to them. Grass-types such as Foongus and Pumpkaboo-XL can handle the Water- and Ground-types that greatly threaten Aron. Those Pokemon in particular can also switch into the Fighting-types that Aron hates. Stealth Rock setters such as Onix and Dwebble can be a huge help to Aron, as Stealth Rock support helps Aron get KOs on Pokemon it wouldn't KO otherwise; for example, after Stealth Rock, Earthquake can potentially OHKO frail Pawniard variants like Choice Scarf. Fighting-types such as Mienfoo and Timburr can lure Fairy- and Flying-types in for Aron to set up on and can provide Knock Off support to remove Eviolites from Pokemon that would otherwise survive a Head Smash. A Steel-type spam core with Pawniard can be used effectively, as Pawniard can also use Knock Off Diglett with Groundium Z is able to trap and remove Staryu, Foongus, and Croagunk after Knock Off has been used to remove their Eviolites. Wynaut can trap and remove Croagunk and Timburr, giving Aron more breathing room to sweep.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A lead SturdyJuice set with Stealth Rock is plausible but not recommended due to Aron's many weaknesses and it being outclassed in the role by Dwebble and Onix. If such a set is used, Metal Burst is a viable option to hit the Pokemon that threaten it for 1.5x the damage they deal. Curse is an option as a boosting move, but it forces Aron to forgo either a coverage move or Rock Polish, which it can't afford to lose due to its pitiful Speed. Heavy Slam with Heavy Metal gives Aron a strong Steel-type STAB move, thanks to Heavy Metal doubling Aron's weight, but it prevents Aron from using Head Smash without recoil. Magnet Rise mitigates Aron's crippling 4x weakness to Ground, but it also comes at the cost of replacing one of Aron's coverage moves.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-types**: Due to Aron's 4x weakness to Fighting-type attacks, defensive variants of Mienfoo and Timburr can both switch into a Head Smash and threaten Aron out with their STAB moves. Timburr, as well as Croagunk, can also threaten Aron with their priority moves.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Pumpkaboo-XL and Slowpoke can cripple Aron with Will-O-Wisp or directly threaten it, respectively. However, neither of these Pokemon want to switch into Head Smash.

**Water-types**: Water-types such as Staryu and Chinchou can both threaten Aron out due to its weakness to Water-type attacks and low Special Defense. Aqua Jet users such as Corphish can also threaten Aron.

**Ground-types**: Aron's 4x weakness to Ground gives it problems against Pokemon such as Drilbur and Onix, which can both take a Head Smash and threaten Aron back with Earthquake.

not a qc check

in overview, mention its access to rock polish and what it allows it to do, as well as list its other coverage moves (listed on the set)
mention what aron's role on a team is (late game sweeper)
you just state its attack and defense and dont build upon it. you could merge it with the first point about rock head, and mention its role then.
replace ice with flying, its more relevant typing and it 4x resists it
mention it faces competition with set up sweepers (give examples, tyrunt is also one since it has rock head head smash and dd)
mention its low speed before rock polish

set:
evs: 36 HP / 116 Atk / 116 Def / 116 SpD / 116 Spe
16 attack and 17 attack is very similar as they generally provide the same calcs, so i opted for more defense to hit eviolite numbers.

in moves, you should probably express how powerful head smash is, since its its breadnbutter, giving some calcs is a good way (even on neutral or resisted threats)
you should probably mention aron's weight here, and mention some targets of heavy slam (lighter mons and fairies)
mention iron head's flinch chance
give examples of steel types eq hits, also mention that it provides unresisted coverage with head smash
i would also add superpower here as a mention, as it hits ferroseed super effectively, who otherwise walls aron. it also hits pawn harder and ohkoes all forms of it

in set details, be sure to update it with the current ev spread.
mention what rock head does and why its so important
might as well mention eviolite here too, along with the defenses EVs and their eviolite numbers.

in usage tips, scarf users arent just aron's only threat, fighters and grounds are too. also mention priority attackers like croagunk or timburr here.
give examples of mons aron beats
tell us of how someone should switch aron in (against resisted attack, voltturn, etc)
add something about using head smash against a slower foe in a pinch

in team options, i dont think aron especially needs memento support to sweep, it does make it easier but aron is bulky enough to live hits, primarily physical ones, so i'd probably remove it
mention foongus in grass section, also mention that it resists fighting.
mention knock off users that arent fighters here, since they soften up foes.
i'd also add fighting types here since they can lure fairy and flying types for aron to set up on. they also provide knock off support.

in other options, replace hone claws with curse, its objectively better
mention heavy metal's downsides
dont think level 1 endeavor strat is even worth mentioning here
order should probs be: sr lead > curse > heavy metal > magnet rise

in checks and counters, mention mach punch and vacuum wave users in fighters section
pumpkaboo is 2hkoed by head smash while slowpoke is 2hkoed after rocks, think you should change the wording to not talk about head smash.
mention aqua jet users in water section.

good shit

I think the EV spread should be 196 Atk / 116 SpD / 196 Spe with a Jolly nature. This lets it outspeed Timburr/Mareanie before setting up (Mach Punch doesn't OHKO) and Scarffoo/Scarfpawn after setting up.

Overview:
Mention Shell Smashers as arguably its biggest competition, as they stronger and in some cases faster than Aron after setting up. Also, get rid of the second half of your last sentence due to the faster EV spread.

Set Details:
Explain the new EV spread/nature here.
Mention that Aron can survive both Timburr's Mach Punch and Croagunk's Vacuum Wave from full health with Eviolite and the given EV spread.

Usage Tips:
Honestly, I don't think Rock Polish should be a huge part of Aron's playstyle, as it just seems too difficult to set up a sweep with it. A big part of its draw should be being able to come in on things like Vullaby and Spritzee and immediately threaten the opposing team with a strong Head Smash. Not a fan of the last point either - Aron's bound to get worn down with its only decent bulk and lack of recovery, so that'll probably happen before it runs out of Head Smash PP.

Team Options:
Specify that Pawniard variant that is potentially OHKOed by Earthquake after Stealth Rock is Scarf Pawniard.
Mention that Aron can form a Steel-spam core with Pawniard, with Pawniard helping to Knock Off Aron's biggest checks.

Looks good otherwise, 3/3

A lead SturdyJuice set with Stealth Rock is plausible, but not recommended due to Aron's many weaknesses and being outclassed in the role by Dwebble and Onix. If such a set is used, Metal Burst is a viable option to hit the Pokemon that threaten it for double 1.5x the damage they deal. Curse is an option as a boosting move, (AC) but it forces Aron to forgo either a coverage move or Rock Polish, which it can't afford to lose due to it's its pitiful Speed. Heavy Slam with Heavy Metal gives Aron a strong Steel-type STAB move, thanks to Heavy Metal doubling Aron's weight, but it prevents Aron from using Head Smash without recoil. Magnet Rise migates mitigates Aron's crippling 4x weakness to Ground, but it also comes at a the cost for of replacing one of Aron's coverage moves.

Checks and Counters

**Fighting-types**: Due to Aron's 4x weakness to Fighting-types attacks, defensive variants of Mienfoo and Timburr can both switch into a Head Smash and threaten Aron out with their STAB moves. Timburr, as well as Croagunk, (AC) can also threaten Aron with their priority moves.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Pumpkaboo-XL and Slowpoke can cripple Aron with a Will-O-Wisp in Pumpkaboo's case or directly threaten it, respectively in Slowpoke's case. However, neither of these Pokemon want to switch into a Head Smash.

**Water-types**: Water-types such as Staryu and Chinchou can both threaten Aron out due to its weakness to Water-types attacks and low Special Defense. Aqua Jet users such as Corphish can also threaten Aron.

**Ground-types**: Aron's 4x weakness to Ground-types gives it problems against Pokemon such as Drilbur and Onix, who which can both take a Head Smash and threaten Aron back with Earthquake.

[OVERVIEW]

Thanks to Rock Head, Aron has access to a recoilless recoil-free 150 base power 150-Base Power STAB move in Head Smash, which hits hard thanks to Aron's solid base 70 Attack. A solid great (prevents repetitiveness) base 100 Defense allows Aron to survive strong physical hits, especially when coupled with an Eviolite. Its Steel- and Rock- Steel / Rock typing gives it interesting useful resistances, most notably against to Fairy- and Flying-types Flying-type attacks. However, its typing also gives it very common weaknesses to Water-(RH), Ground-(RH), (AC) and Fighting-types. Head Smash also has very low PP. It's also difficult for Aron to set up on many things due to coverage moves such as Earthquake from Snubbull and Jump Kick from Doduo. It Aron also has low Special Defense, meaning it can have a tough time switching in on special attacks. It also faces competition from other set up sweepers, especially Shell Smashers like Tirtouga and Shellder, who are stronger and, in some cases, faster than Aron even after setting up. It faces competition from other setup sweepers that can be stronger and faster than a set-up Aron; Shell Smash users like Tirtouga and Shellder are particularly good examples. (All-star's changes were mostly ok but the sentence was wonky and needed rewriting as a whole. I also thought the whole situation with the removed comma was weird because i'm like 80% sure the shell smash portion was an appositive phrase.) Aron also has very low Speed prior to a Rock Polish, meaning it can be KOed easily if it hasn't set up.

Moves
========

Rock Polish is the main move on this set, as it doubles Aron's Speed, (AC) which gives it a chance to sweep. Head Smash is an extremely powerful STAB move, hitting everything extremely hard and even being able to a STAB move that hits everything extremely hard and can even OHKO or 2HKO threats that resist Head Smash Rock-resistant threats, (RC) such as Mienfoo without Eviolite after Stealth Rock. Heavy Slam hits the majority of Little Cup for consistant consistent damage thanks to Aron's heavy weight. However, Iron Head can be used for a more reliable attack that has a chance to flinch and also hits Pokemon who that are heavier than Aron such as Onix harder. Earthquake hits Steel-types such as Magnemite and Pawniard, (RC) and has perfect coverage alongside Head Smash. Superpower is can be used to OHKO Pawniard and also to hit Ferroseed, (AC) which otherwise walls Aron and also OHKOes Pawniard.

Set Details
========

With the given Speed EVs and a Jolly nature, Aron is fast enough to outspeed Timburr and Mareanie prior to setting up, and it is also able to outspeed Choice Scarf variants of Mienfoo and Pawniard after setting up. With an Eviolite and the given defense EVs, Aron is able to survive attacks such as Mach Punch from Timburr or Vacuum Wave from Croagunk (mach punch is physical priority, and vacuum wave is special. 'defense evs' means physical defense despite there being no investment in its Defense. maybe reword this part to say, 'Eviolite increases Aron's overall bulk, allowing it to survive Mach Punch from Timburr. The given Special Defense EVs allow Aron to take Vacuum Wave from Croagunk at full.') (<do this). Rock Head is important for allowing Aron to effectively be able to use Head Smash without recoil.

Usage Tips
========

Aron can switch into Pokemon that it defensively checks, like such as Spritzee or and Vullaby, as this allows it to immediately threaten the opposing switch-in with a strong Head Smash. Aron should be switched in on resisted hits, as against Choice Scarf users, this can usually force a switch, allowing you it to get a free Rock Polish. You Aron can use Head Smash against slower foes when Aron it is at low HP to deal some damage before going down.

Team Options
========

Pokemon that resist Fighting-type moves, such as Spritzee and Snubbull, can help with Aron's 4x weakness to Fighting-types. Grass-types such as Foongus and Pumpkaboo-Super Pumpkaboo-XL can both handle the Water- and Ground-types that also greatly threaten Aron. Those Pokemon in particular can also switch into the Fighting-types that Aron hates. Stealth Rock setters such as Onix and Dwebble can be a huge help to Aron, as it Stealth Rock support helps it Aron get kills KOs on Pokemon it wouldn't KO otherwise; (add semi) - for example, after Stealth Rock, Earthquake lets it can potentially get an OHKO on frail Pawniard variants, (RC) like Choice Scarf. Fighting-types such as Mienfoo and Timburr can lure Fairy- and Flying-types for Aron to set up on, (RC) and can provide Knock Off support to remove Eviolites from Pokemon who that would otherwise survive a Head Smash. A Steel-type spam core with Pawniard can be used effectively, as Pawniard can use Knock Off to remove Eviolites off of from Pokemon that would otherwise survive a Head Smash. Diglett with Groundium Z is able to trap and remove Staryu, Foongus, (AC)(you made this red accidentally) and Croagunk after Knock Off has been used to remove their Eviolites. Wynaut can trap and remove Croagunk and Timburr, giving Aron more breathing room to sweep.
