Magnezone - 1v1

Overview

Although it has an underwhelming Speed tier, Magnezone is able to take on many threats in the current metagame such as Mega Gyarados lacking Earthquake, Magearna, Mega Mawile, Tapu Lele, and a plethora of threats with its fantastic ability Sturdy, allowing it to almost always take a hit, a good typing that provides 11 resistances and immunities total, and a base 130 Special Attack stat. However, Magnezone's disappointing weaknesses to Fire, Fighting, and Ground make it struggle against Mega Charizard X, Hitmonlee, Golem, Donphan, Stunfisk, and others. In addition, a lot of Pokemon, including Mega Metagross, Mega Gyarados, and Kyurem-B, carry a Ground-type coverage move such as Earthquake or Earth Power, meaning Magnezone usually loses to them. Especially against Fighting-types, such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Heracross, Magnezone is heavily reliant on Sturdy to take a hit and retaliate, and this may or may not be successful depending on both Magnezone's moveset and its foe's. Despite the struggles Magnezone faces, it stands as one of the best Electric-type attacker that is capable of fitting on many teams.

Moves

Electroweb is the most important move for this set because it does decent damage with STAB and lowers target's Speed by one stage, letting Magenzone outspeed many foes such as Mega Gyarados and Kyurem-B to hit them first next turn. This succeeds thanks to Sturdy and Air Balloon letting Magnezone take at least one hit from the entire metagame. Thunderbolt is another reliable STAB move with decent power and hits Gyarados, Mega Charizard Y, and others. Flash Cannon is another STAB move and lets Magnezone deal with Fairy-types such as Mimikyu and Tapu Lele, Rock-types such as Crustle and Golem without Rock Tomb, and Choice Scarf Kyurem-B. Hidden Power Ice can be used to defeat Garchomp and always OHKO Landorus-T, while Hidden Power Fire can be used to deal with Genesect, Kartana, and Ferrothorn, if Magnezone's teammates cannot handle them.

Set Details

Maximum Special Attack investment with a Modest nature allows Magnezone to hit as hard as possible, and full investment in Speed allows Magnezone to foes many opponents after Electroweb. Air Balloon grants Magnezone an immunity to Ground-type moves before it is hit, letting it safely reduce Speed using Electroweb against Mega Gyarados, Kyurem-B, and Mega Pinsir to finish them with appropriate moves next turn.

Usage Tips

This set can be used as a lure to Gyarados, Kyurem-B, Donphan, and other foes that are reliant on Ground-type moves to defeat Magnezone, since Magnezone can defeat all of them with Electroweb and appropriate STAB moves. If the opposing team has formidably specially defensive Pokemon such as Blissey and Snorlax, it is generally not recommended to send Magnezone out. Electroweb must be used first if the foe outspeeds Magnezone so that Magnezone can survive a hit and attack first next turn.

Team Options

This set struggles with strong physical attackers that can survive Magnezone's attack such as Sawk and Mega Heracross, as they can severely dent Magnezone with their respective STAB moves. Allies that are capable of sponging strong physical hits from Pokemon such as Mega Metagross and Buzzwole, like Mega Slowbro, will deal with the aforementioned threats as well. Teammates such as Tapu Lele, Mega Venusaur, and Mimikyu are capable of defeating Fighting-types, which Magnezone often struggles with. Mega Charizard X is the worst foe Magnezone can ever face, since it resists Magnezone's STAB moves and can KO it. In addition, Magnezone is not capable of defeating special walls such as Chansey, Blissey, and Umbreon. Strong physical attackers such as Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Crustle can help with these issues.

Moves

When paired with Choice Specs, Thunderbolt becomes a very powerful STAB move that always OHKOes the likes of Primarina and Porygon-Z, which would otherwise survive a hit and bring trouble to Magnezone. Flash Cannon is a second STAB move that lets Magnezone OHKO Mimikyu without Curse and Whimsicott without Barbiri Berry, which would otherwise survive a hit and stall out Magnezone, as well as Tapu Lele, which can 2HKO Magnezone with Hidden Power Fire or Focus Blast. Hidden Power Ice always OHKOes Garchomp and Landorus-T with Choice Specs, and Hidden Power Fire lets Magnezone deal with opposing Magnezone and Ferrothorn much more easily. Hyper Beam is used to hit foes that resist both of MAgnezone's STAB moves such as Mega Charizard X and other Electric-types, and its sheer power often meant it OHKOes them.

Set Details

252 Special Attaack EVs with a Modest nature let Magnezone hit as hard as possible and maximize the effectiveness of Choice Specs. 212 Speed EVs are given for Magnezone to outspeed unboosted Crustle at all times. 44 EV's are put into HP to keep Magnezone's HP at an odd number to minimize the fraction-based damage and provide that much additional bulk. Choice Specs, not great as other Z-Crystals in raw power, promises consistent power for each move Magnezone possesses.

Usage Tips

Since this set locks Magnezone into one move, it is important to decide what move is the most appropriate. Magnezone with this set must be brought in against strong and frail attackers such as Pheromosa, Greninja, Tapu Koko, and others. It is best for Magnezone to avoid bulky opponents such as Mega Charizard X, which also resists both STAB's, and any foes that are commonly equipped with Fake Out or Mold Breaker to bypass Sturdy, such as Mega Gyarados, Hitmonlee, and Kyurem-B. Hyper Beam must be used with some consideration, since it leaves Magnezone unable to execute a move next turn, leaving it vulnerable to Substitute users. In addition, Mega Charizard Y survives Hyper Beam and simply 2HKOes Magnezone afterwards, making this move very prediction-reliant.

Team Options

This set's partners are relatively simple. Mega Charizard X and other Fire-types appreciate Magnezone's ability to take on Landorus-T and Water-types such as Mega Slowbro and Primarina, while other Dragon-types appreciate Magnezone's ability to take on Steel-types. Allies such as Mega Venusaur, Kartana, Keldeo and Buzzwole appreciate Magnezone's ability to eliminate Flying- and Fairy-types. They also appreciate Magnezone effectively dealing with Tapu Lele. Mega Gyarados, Mega Venusaur, and Tapu Fini can all take on Ground-type Pokemon for Magnezone.

Set Comments

Moves

Although its accuracy is not as reliable as Thunderbolt's, Thunder is the best move for Magnezone to launch a powerful Z-Move with. Zap Cannon has slightly better power and allows Magnezone to OHKO foes that it cannot with Thunder. In addition, one can use this move to paralyze with some luck, letting Magnezone have better chances against foes that it would normally lose to. Flash Cannon is a second STAB move that is used to hit Golem, Kyurem-B, and others that resist or are immune to Thunder and Gigavolt Havoc. It also has more reliable accuracy. Hidden Power Ice always OHKOes Landorus-T and grants Magnezone a chance to win against Garchomp more than 50% of the time. Metal Sound is used against specially defensive foes that Magnezone cannot 2HKO with other sets such as Chansey, Umbreon, and Mega Venusaur.

Set Details

Maximum investment in Special Attack along with a Modest nature will let Magnezone hit as hard as possible. 136 Speed EVs allow Magnezone to outspeed Adamant Golem. The rest of the EVs are put into HP to let Magnezone take hits as best as possible. Electrium Z allows Magnezone to fire off an extremely powerful Gigavolt Havoc, which is strong enough to dent most that are not resistant to it.

Usage Tips

It is the best to use Gigavolt Havoc in order to finish the foe as soon as possible given that it is not Ground-type. Neutral damage from Thunder-based Gigavolt Havoc is greater than super effective Flash Cannon. Use Hidden Power Ice to defeat any foe that is 4x weak to Ice-type moves, such as Garchomp or Landorus-T. Metal Sound is used against the foes that Magnezone cannot 2HKO.

Team Options

Due to Magnezone's weakness to Ground and Fire, Water-types such as Mega Gyarados and Tapu Fini will be great partners. Most Rock-types, especially the ones with Rockium Z, deal with all Mega Charizard variants well. Allies that are always able to defeat Kyurem-B on one on one, such as bulky Mega Mawile and Mega Metagross, are good options to choose with Water-types such as Primarina or Mega Gyarados to cover for the stacked Fire weakness. Mega Heracross is an excellent partner for Magnezone in particular due to its ability to defeat Kyurem-B, Snorlax, Chansey, Mega Gyarados, Golem, and Donphan with ease.

Strategy Comments

Other Options

Mirror Coat is an interesting option to retaliate against special attackers, and it tends to work well thanks to Sturdy. It also lets Magnezone win against Meloetta and Genesect, as the former can 2HKO back using Shadow Ball or Hidden Power Fire while equipping Choice Specs and the latter can use Flamethrower twice. However, using Gigavolt Havoc is better in general, especially if the foe has a chance of carrying Substitute, which will make Magnezone simply waste a turn if it makes wrong prediction. If this move is used, Magnezone should have a Rash nature and zero Special Defense IVs to return as much damage as possible against threats like Meloetta. Steelium Z will let Magnezone use Z-Metal Sound to hinder foes' Special Defense and let Magnezone gain Special Attack, which is a great option when facing defensive opponents such as Chansey and Dusclops. Steelium Z also grants Magnezone access to Corkscrew Crash from Flash Cannon. Protect is an option to block Fake Out from Salazzle, Mega Lopunny, and Hitmonlee to make sure Sturdy is intact, but Magnezone usually has a hard time finding a moveslot for this. Toxic is an option to avoid Sucker Punch from Golem when both Magnezone and Golem are down to 1 HP, and it gives Magnezone much better chances against Calm Mind stallers or walls like Chansey and Blissey, but that's about it.

Checks and Counters

Other Sturdy Pokemon: If they carry Rock Tomb, other Sturdy users as Donphan and Golem can slow Magnezone down while surviving an attack thanks for Sturdy, then OHKO Magnezone with Earthquake next turn. The Air Balloon set is not able to deal with them because of Rock Tomb.

Mold Breaker Pokemon: Both Pinsir and Mega Gyarados have Mold Breaker, so they can easily defeat Magnezone using Earthquake. Kyurem-B can OHKO Magnezone using Earth Power without any investment. However, these threats might lose against Magnezone if they do not carry such Ground-type coverage.

Fire-types: Magnezone's underwhelming Speed leaves it vulnerable to Fire-types, which tend to be faster. Mega Charizard X resists both of Magnezone's STAB moves, and Salazzle can remove Magnezone's Sturdy with Fake Out and proceed to KO it with Inferno Overdrive. Alolan Marowak, although uncommon, is a menacing threat to Magnezone due to its ability Lightning Rod granting it immunity to Electric-type moves and its Fire typing letting it resist most of Magnezone's other moves.

Bulky Ground-types: Magnezone struggles with most Ground-type opponents. Zygarde survives Hidden Power Ice without any investment, Stunfisk resists Flash Cannon and is never OHKOed by Hiddwn Power Ice, and Mega Swampert has no trouble defeating Magnezone thanks to its resistance to Flash Cannon.

Mega Venusaur: Venusaur loses less than half of its health from Flash Cannon without much investment in bulk, resists Electric, and takes halved damage from Hidden Power Ice thanks to Thick Fat. These defensive traits allow Venusaur to wear down Magnezone with Leech Seed, and Magnezone can't do much in return, especially if Venusaur has Sleep Powder. However, Magnezone can 2HKO or 3HKO Mega Venusaur if it carries Metal Sound.

Specially Bulky Foes: Mega Tyranitar can take a Flash Cannon from even Choice Specs variants thanks to its massive sand-boosted bulk and can KO Magnezone with Rock Tomb and Earthquake. Chansey, Blissey, and Umbreon are impossible for Magnezone to surmount without carrying Metal Sound.

Ready for first QC check.

Notes to QC team:

* I played 200+ games with Magneone to see which set are viable, and I do not think Choice Specs sets are good due to Substitutes being everywhere.
* I have hard time coming up with more bullets in Team Options. Specific feedback in those sections will be appreciated.

Magnezone, 1v1 - approved by Dream Eater Gengar

Overview

* Magnezone's fantastic ability Sturdy allows it to endure any potential OHKO that is not from Mold Breaker, alleviate its problems with underwhelming Speed tier, and retaliate launching strong attack with its 130 Special Attack stat.
* It's unique typing provides 11 resistances and immunities, and this lets Magnezone check threats such as Tapu Fini, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Mawile, and others. Mention Mega Gyarados over Tapu Fini as the more common Water-type.
* However, Magnezone's weakness to common Fire and Ground-types are very disappointing, and it makes Magnezone struggle against most of foes with such typing.
* Ever-so-common Earthquake is one of the ways that Magnezone could be dispatched easily. Dispatched? Just say defeated lol.

Idk if this spread is optimized. Speed should minimized to only out speed certain threats after they're at -1.

Moves

* Electroweb is the most important move for this set, since it does decent damage with STAB and lowers foe's Speed by one stage, letting it outspeed many opponents and let Magnezone hit its foe first next turn. This can be done thanks to Magnezone's ability Sturdy and Air Balloon that lets Magnezone take at least one hit from the entire metagame.
* Thunderbolt is another reliable STAB move with decent power and it hits Gyarados, Mega Charizard Mega Charizard Y not X, and others.
* Flash Cannon is another STAB move that lets Magnezone deal with Mimikyu, Sylveon, Crustle, and others. Idk about mentioning Sylveon. I'd mention instead Choice Scarf Kyurem-B.
* Hidden Power Ice can be used to defeat aforementioned Ground-type foes with high chances, while Hidden Power Fire can be used to deal with Durant and Ferrothorn, if Magnezone's teams are not capable of defeating it. These HP are more important for dealing with 4x weak pokemon not just 2x weak.

Set Details

* Maximum Special Attack investment with Modest nature allow Magnezone to hit as hard as possible, and full invesetment on Speed allows Magnezone to outspeed faster foes such as Kyurem-B, all variants of Charizard, and Gyarados. I don't know if out speeding Charizard forms is really necessary. You typically 1 shot Mega Charizard Y with Thunderbolt and you can't really do anything to Mega Charizard X
* Air Balloon lets Magnezone negate Ground-type moves before it is hit, letting it safely reduce Speed against Mega Gyarados, Kyurem-B, Mega Pinsir, or Heatran without Rock Tomb without having to worry about Earthquake and Earth Power which will shut down Magnezone easily.

Usage Tips

* This set can be used as a lure to Gyarados, Kyurem-B, Donphan, or other foes that are reliant on Ground-type moves to defeat Magnezone, since Magnezone can defeat all of them with Electroweb and appropriate STAB moves.
* Electroweb must be used first if foe outspeeds Magnezone, so Magnezone can survive a hit or avoid heavy damage with Sturdy or Air Balloon and attack first next turn.
* Metal Sound can be added if Magnezone's team lacks a strong special wallbreaker. Metal Sound is not mentioned on this set, nor should it really be included.

Team Options

* This set still struggles with strong Mold Breaker attackers such as Haxorus and Ramparados, as they can OHKO Magnezone with Superpower while bypassing Sturdy with Mold Breaker. Ally that is capable of sponging strong physical hits such as Donphan, Mega Metagross, or Buzzwole will deal with aforementioned threats. Haxorus and Rampardos are not relevant in the 1v1 metagame. If you want to use these teammates, have a different reason.
* Due to the absence of Z-move, Magnezone has hard time defeating Fighting-types such as Sawk, Hitmonlee, and others. Allys such as Tapu Lele, Mega Venusaur, or Mimikyu are capable of defeating them.
Mention pokemon that beat Mega Charizard X
Mention pokemon that beat special walls like Chansey, Blissey, and Umbreon.

Moves

* Thunder, although the accuracy is not reliable as Thunderbolt is, would be the best Electric-STAB move for Magnezone to launch more powerful Z-move.
* Zap Cannon has slightly better Z-power and it sometimes allow Magnezone to OHKO foes that it cannot with Thunder. In addition, one can use this move to paralyze the foes with some luck, letting Magnezone have better chances against foes that it would normally lose to.
* Flash Cannon is second STAB move that is used to hit Golem, Kyurem-B, and others that resist or are immune to Thunder and Gigavolt Havoc. As well as having a higher accuracy to hit 2HKOs.
* Hidden Power Ice grants Magnezone a chance to win against Garchomp for more than 50% of chances, while it will always OHKO and defeat uninvested Landorus-T. Mention Lando-T first, since you actually have good odds against it.
* Metal Sound is used to hamper foes' defensive capabilities against the likes of Sableye, Umbreon, and Mega Venusaur, allowing Magnezone to achieve 2HKOs against them and keep them from stalling with recovery moves. Mega Sableye would bounce back Metal Sound. Take out the Sableye reference.
252+ Atk Teravolt Kyurem-Black Outrage vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Terrakion: 288-339 (89.1 - 104.9%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
* Toxic is an option to avoid Sucker Punch from Golem when both Magnezone and Golem are down to 1 HP, and it gives Magnezone much better chances against Calm Mind stallers or walls like Chansey or Blissey.

Usage Tips

* It is the best to use Gigavolt Havoc in order to finish the opponent as soon as possible. Neutral damage from Gigavolt Havoc with Thunder will do more damage even when the target takes supereffective damage from Flash Cannon. Assuming the target isn't a ground type.
* Use Hidden Power Ice to dispatch any foe that has exploitable 4x weakness to Ice-type moves.
* Metal Sound is used against the foes that Magnezone cannot 2HKO.
* When facing Golem, use Flash Cannon to leave it with 1 HP, and use Toxic to evade Sucker Punch while finishing it off. Make this more general to all Sucker Punch users and not just Golem

Team Options

* Due to Magnezone's weakness to Ground and Fire, Water-types such as Mega Gyarados or Tapu Fini will be a great partner to cover these weakness.
* Most Rock-types, especially the ones with Rockium Z, deals with all Charizard variants well thanks to their resistance to Fire, which Magnezone is weak to.
Mention something that beats Kyurem-B.

Strategy Comments

Other Options

* Mirror Coat is an interesting option to retaliate against Special Attackers, and this tends to work well thanks to Sturdy. However, using Gigavolt Havoc is better in general, especially if opponent has a chance to carry Substitute.
* Steelium Z will let Magnezone use Z-Metal Sound to hinder opponent's Special Defense and let Magnezone gain Special Attack, and this is a great option in terms of facing defensive opponents such as Calm Mind Sableye, Chansey, and Dusclops. Steelium Z also gives the option of using Corkscrew Crash from Flash Cannon.
* Choice Specs set with Thunderbolt, Flash Cannon, Hyper Beam, and Hidden Power Ice will let Magnezone make great damage input on all of its attacks, and let it OHKO Garchomp, Mega Charizard Y and Kyurem-B with appropriate moves.
* Protect is an option to block Fake Out from Salazzle and Hitmonlee to make sure Sturdy is in tact when Magnezone is able to retaliate, but Magnezone usually has hard time finding a moveslot for this.

Checks and Counters

Mega Venusaur: Venusaur loses less than half of its health from Flash Cannon, resists Electric-STAB moves, takes halved damaged from Hidden Power Ice thanks to its ability Thick Fat. These defensive traits allow Venusaur to wear down Magnezone with Leech Seed, and Magnezone can't do anything in return especially Venusaur has Sleep Powder. However, Magnezone can 2HKO Mega Venusaur if it carries Metal Sound.

Other Sturdy users: Donphan is guaranteed to survive at least one hit thanks to its ability Sturdy, punish Magnezone with Earthquake and pick off using Ice Shard. Even Golem can survive Flash Cannon, use Rock Tomb to remove Sturdy from Magnezone and lower its Speed, and proceed to KO Magnezone using Earthquake next turn. However, this cannot happen to Magnezone with Air Balloon. Rock Tomb Golem/Rhyperior easily handles Air Balloon Magnezone. Rephrase this to make it more clear that air balloon only protects from Donphan and Crustle, and not Rock Tomb Golem.

Mold Breaker users: Both Pinsir and Mega Gyarados have Mold Breaker before or after Mega Evolution, and they can easily defeat Magnezone using Earthquake. Kyurem-B can OHKO Magnezone with very high chance using Earth Power without any investment. However, aforementioned threats will lose against Magnezone if they do not carry Ground-type coverage.

Fire-types: Magnezone's underwhelming speed leaves it vulnerable to Fire-types, from which majority of them are faster. Mega Charizard X takes halved damage from both STAB-moves from Magnezone, and Salazzle can remove Magnezone's Sturdy with Fake Out and proceed to KO it with Inferno Overdrive.

Zygarde: Although not common foe Magnezone faces in the metagame, Zygarde can use Thousand Arrows to dent Magnezone to 1 health, even against Air Balloon set. 50% forms survive HP Ice without any investment.
Overall this is a good analysis. Implement the comments in bold. I'm going to hold off on QC 1/3 as I do believe we're still discussing whether or not Choice Specs should be put as its own set or not.

Thunderbolt is not OHKOing Whimsicott. Flash Cannon will OHKO non-babiri berry variants, but I'd just remove this.
* Flash Cannon is a second STAB move that lets Magnezone OHKO Curse Mimikyu which survives a hit and manages to stall out Magnezone, and Tapu Lele which can 2HKO Magnezone with HP Fire or Focus Blast.
* Hidden Power Ice will have a 100% chance to OHKO Garchomp and Landorus-T with Choice Specs, and Hidden Power Fire lets Magnezone deal with opposing Magnezone and Ferrothorn much easier.
* Hyper Beam is used to hit opponents that resists both STAB moves from Magnezone such as Mega Charizard X and other Electric-types, and its sheer power often OHKOes them, although it is crucially important to watch out for Substitute.

* The other 4 EV was put into Special Defense to provide Magnezone a bit more chance to survive Kyurem-B's uninvested Earth Power. K odd number of bulk isn't really that important and this is just ugly. Make it 44 HP.
* Choice Specs, while the raw power is not great as other Z-Crystals, promises the consistency of the power of each moves Magnezone possesses.

* Most Rock-types, especially the ones with Rockium Z, deals with all Charizard variants well thanks to their resistance to Fire, which Magnezone is weak to.
* Allies that are always able to defeat Kyurem-B on one on one, such as bulky Mega Mawile and Mega Metagross, are good options to choose with Water-types such as Primarina or Mega Gyarados to cover weakness of Fire.

Strategy Comments

Other Options

* Mirror Coat is an interesting option to retaliate against Special Attackers, and this tends to work well thanks to Sturdy. It also lets Magnezone win against Meloetta, which is never OHKOed by any attacks from Magnezone and can 2HKO back using Shadow Ball or HP Fire while equipping Choice Specs. However, using Gigavolt Havoc is better in general, especially if opponent has a chance to carry Substitute which will Magnezone simply waste a turn if it makes wrong prediction.
* Steelium Z will let Magnezone use Z-Metal Sound to hinder opponent's Special Defense and let Magnezone gain Special Attack, and this is a great option in terms of facing defensive opponents such as Calm Mind Sableye, Chansey, and Dusclops. It also grants Magnezone an access to Corkscrew Crash from Flash Cannon.

Mega Venusaur: Venusaur loses less than half of its health from Flash Cannon without much investment in bulk, resists Electric-STAB moves, takes halved damaged from Hidden Power Ice thanks to its ability Thick Fat. These defensive traits allow Venusaur to wear down Magnezone with Leech Seed, and Magnezone can't do much in return especially Venusaur has Sleep Powder. However, Magnezone can 2HKO or 3HKO Mega Venusaur if it carries Metal Sound.

Other Sturdy users: Other Sturdy users, such as Donphan and Golem, if they carry Rock Tomb, can slow Magnezone down while surviving an attack thanks for Sturdy, and proceed to OHKO Magnezone with Earthquake next turn. Air Balloon set is not able to deal with aforementioned opponents with such sets.

Mold Breaker users: Both Pinsir and Mega Gyarados have Mold Breaker, and they can easily defeat Magnezone using Earthquake. Kyurem-B can OHKO Magnezone with very high chance using Earth Power without any investment. However, aforementioned threats will lose against Magnezone if they do not carry such Ground-type coverage.

Mostly just checked the Specs. It could use a little more detail but otherwise it's fine. Implement comments in bold.

Overview
-Mention examples of Fire- and Ground-Type Pokemon.
-Re-phrase last bullet point to "A lot of Pokemon carry Ground-type moves such as [examples].."
-I guess you mentioned them in the beginning but mention in a bullet point alone that it has bad speed stat but great spa
-Mention its weakness to Fighting-type Pokemon which can also be found in the tier Hitmonlee, Pheromosa and Fighting-type coverage which are abundant.

Set Comments

Moves
-What does Electroweb helps it beating?
-"Another"? I'd say Thunderbolt is a reliable STAB move allowing it to take on common Pokemon weak to the typing.
-Flash Cannon helps against abundant Fairy-type Pokemon etc... Mention which types and Pokemon same as above ^

Set Details
-Outspeed them *After electroweb.
-*Which have Ground-type coverage moves in the form of EQ and EP (better ig)

Usage Tips
-I'd mention more stuff like avoiding sending in Magnezone if the opposing team has great specially defensive Pokemon

Team Options
-I'd merge the first point with the second tbh.
-Water-type Pokemon are also great teammates.

Choice Specs
Set Details
-
Why do you need HP EVs?

Usage Tips
-Mention against which Pokemon this shouldn't be brought against
-When to bring in this Pokemon

Team Options
"If Magnezone's ability to eliminate Flying-types are appreciated instead, allies such as Mega Venusaur, Kartana, Keldeo, Buzzwole, or others can deal with Ground-types." Re-phrase. Also mention Pokemon being able to defeat Sturdy Pokemon and bulky Ground-type Pokemon or the ones that run such coverage such as Dragonite needed.

Electrium Z
Usage Tips
-"Metal Sound is used against the foes that Magnezone cannot 2HKO." Such as specially defensive Pokemon like Chansey etc...
-"When facing Golem or other Sturdy users that rely on Sucker Punch for securing the win, use appropriate move to leave it with 1 HP, and use Toxic to evade Sucker Punch while finishing it off." Meh, if everyone does this people will get used to it and it's going to be a 50/50 (like it isn't already).

Other Options
Remove choice specs from here

Checks and Counters
I'd remove Zygarde and mention Bulky Ground-type Pokemon. Mention Lightingrod Alolan Marowak in the Fire-typing section

Thanks for check DEG.

This is the busiest month for me in the whole year, and I am going to implement suggestions / corrections later. And what do you think about adding this?

upload_2017-5-9_12-48-37.png

The same set as Air Balloon. So I can change the set to like:

Air Balloon -> Lure
Magnezone @ Air Balloon / Shuca Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 SpA / 16 SpD / 240 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Electroweb
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Ice] / Hidden Power [Fire]

During couple games in suspect ladder including the process of me ragequitting and making new account over 4 times I noticed this set is capable of dealing with Mega Gyarados with Earthquake as well as Kyurem-B with Earth Power but without Choice Scarf.

Do you think this deserves mention in main sets, in Other Options, or just a bad stuff that deserves no mention at all?

RNGIsFatal

Okay, I decided not to add the set above because it has next to no usage outsides winning against Mega Gyarados and Kyurem-B which is definitely not worth sacrificing an item slot.

Implemented everything DEG suggested, now awaiting third and final QC check from Kentari or Elo Bandit.

Magnezone, 1v1 - approved by Dream Eater Gengar

Overview

* Magnezone's fantastic ability Sturdy allows it to endure any potential OHKO that is not from Mold Breaker.
* It has an underwhelming Speed tier, and retaliate launching strong attack with its 130 Special Attack stat.
* It's unique typing provides 11 resistances and immunities, and this lets Magnezone check threats such as Mega Gyarados lacking Earthquake, Magearna, Mega Mawile, and others. Not that it matters in battle but the info should be correct, its typing isn't unique anymore since Togedemaru
* However, Magnezone's weakness to common Fire, Fighting, and Ground-types are very disappointing, and it makes Magnezone struggle against Mega Charizard X, Salazzle, Hitmonlee, Golem, Donphan, Stunfisk, and others. Salazzle isn't probably needed in the overview as it isnt a good example and there are 6 others already which is adequate for the overview
* A lot of opponents carry Ground-type coverage moves such as Earthquake or Earth Power, and Magnezone loses in most cases of they do. Examples (2 or 3) of Pokemon that carry these moves
* Fighting-type opponents, such as Hitmonlee and Pheromosa are quite prevalent in the metagame, and this forces Magnezone to rely on Sturdy to have a matchup against them. Pheromosa and Hitmonlee aren't actually that prevalent currently, instead others like Mega Lopunny, Mega Heracross are. Just remove that they are common and add in Mega Heracross as another example

Air Balloon

- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Ice] / Hidden Power [Fire]

Moves

* Electroweb is the most important move for this set, since it does decent damage with STAB and lowers foe's Speed by one stage, letting it outspeed many opponents, such as Mega Gyarados, Kyurem-B and let Magnezone hit its foe first next turn. This can be done thanks to Magnezone's ability Sturdy and Air Balloon that lets Magnezone take at least one hit from the entire metagame.
* Thunderbolt is another reliable STAB move with decent power and it hits Gyarados, Mega Charizard Y, and others.
* Flash Cannon is another STAB move that lets Magnezone deal with Fairy-types such as Mimikyu and Tapu Lele, Rock-types such as Gigalith and Crustle, and Choice Scarf Kyurem-B. Gigalith disappeared after Custap Berry got unreleased, add in Golem without Rock Tomb as the other Rock type
* Hidden Power Ice can be used to defeat Garchomp high chances and always OHKO Landorus-T, while Hidden Power Fire can be used to deal with Durant and Ferrothorn, if Magnezone's teams are not capable of defeating it. Thunderbolt already OHKOes Durant, replace Durant with Genesect and also add in Kartana

Set Details

* Maximum Special Attack investment with Modest nature allow Magnezone to hit as hard as possible, and full invesetment on Speed allows Magnezone to outspeed many opponents after Electroweb which have Ground-type coverage in the form of Earthquake or Earth Power..
* Air Balloon lets Magnezone negate Ground-type moves before it is hit, letting it safely reduce Speed against Mega Gyarados, Kyurem-B, Mega Pinsir, or Heatran without Rock Tomb without having to be wary about aforementioned Ground-type moves which will shut down Magnezone easily. Heatran still defeats it with Overheat, 91% damage max. Also no need to reduce Speed against Mega Pinsir and Kyurem-Black. Its a bit confusing, rephrase it such that it says that Air Balloon lets it take those Ground type attacks and it can safely reduce Speed against Mega Gyarados using Electroweb

252+ SpA Magnezone Electroweb vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Heatran: 94-112 (29.1 - 34.6%) -- 8.7% chance to 3HKO
252+ SpA Magnezone Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Heatran: 154-183 (47.6 - 56.6%) -- 85.9% chance to 2HKO

- The purpose of 16 SpD 240 Speed in the spread

Usage Tips

* This set can be used as a lure to Gyarados, Kyurem-B, Donphan, or other foes that are reliant on Ground-type moves to defeat Magnezone, since Magnezone can defeat all of them with Electroweb and appropriate STAB moves.
* If opposing team has formidably specially defensive opponents such as Blissey or Snorlax, it is generally not recommended to send Magnezone at all.
* Electroweb must be used first if foe outspeeds Magnezone, so Magnezone can survive a hit or avoid heavy damage with Sturdy or Air Balloon and attack first next turn.

Team Options

Add in checks to Mega Venusaur (such as Tapu Lele Mega Pinsir) in this and the other Team Options sections as well

* This set still struggles with strong physical attackers that can survive Magnezone's attack such as Sawk and Donphan, as they can severely dent Magnezone with their respective STAB moves. Ally that is capable of sponging strong physical hits such as Donphan, Mega Metagross, or Buzzwole will deal with aforementioned threats.
* Due to the absence of Z-move, Magnezone has hard time defeating Fighting-types such as Sawk, Hitmonlee, and others. Allys such as Tapu Lele, Mega Venusaur, or Mimikyu are capable of defeating them. The absence of Z moves shouldn't be related with Fighting types, it cannot KO others like Primarina without Electrium Z or Specs. It would've still lost to Hitmonlee if it had Electrium Z and Magnezone can defeat non Scarf Sawk with Electroweb + Thunderbolt unless it has Rock Tomb. Just list in that it loses to those Fight types and these teammates can help and remove the info about Z moves
* Mega Charizard X is the worst opponent Magnezone can ever face, since it resists both STAB moves from Magnezone and can bring it down to 1 HP using Flare Blitz. In addition, Magnezone is not capable of defeating special walls such as Chansey, Blissey, and Umbreon. Strong physical attackers such as Landorus-T, Garchomp, or Crustle can help Magnezone's team.
Mega Charizard X is another good partner as Air Balloon Magnezone can defeat Kyurem-Black, Mega Gyarados and others like Mega Slowbro, Tapu Fini which is helpful for Zard X

Moves

* Thunderbolt, when paired with Choice Specs, becomes a very powerful STAB move that always OHKOes the likes of Primarina, or Porygon-Z, which would otherwise survive a hit and bring trouble to Magnezone.
* Flash Cannon is a second STAB move that lets Magnezone OHKO Curse Mimikyu and Whimsicott which would otherwise survive a hit and manages to stall out Magnezone, and Tapu Lele which can 2HKO Magnezone with HP Fire or Focus Blast. Defeats Ghost Z and Fairy Z but it loses to Curse Mimikyu because of Disguise and Sub Protect Spam, also Whimsicott without Babiri Berry
* Hidden Power Ice will have a 100% chance to OHKO Garchomp and Landorus-T with Choice Specs, and Hidden Power Fire lets Magnezone deal with opposing Magnezone and Ferrothorn much easier. Ferrothorn Yeah but its not required for Magearna, Thunderbolt has a greater chance of KOing as it does more than HP Fire and add in Genesect
252+ SpA Choice Specs Magnezone Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Magearna: 192-226 (52.7 - 62%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Magnezone Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Magearna: 214-253 (58.7 - 69.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

* Hyper Beam is used to hit opponents that resists both STAB moves from Magnezone such as Mega Charizard X and other Electric-types, and its sheer power often OHKOes them, although it is crucially important to watch out for Substitute.
Also Hyper Beam won't KO Zard Y and you might end up losing so predict accordingly (This should be either here or in the Usage Tips section below)

Set Details

* 252 Special Attaack EVs with Modest Nature let Magnezone hit as hard as possible and maximize the efficiency of Choice Specs.
* 212 Speed EVs were given for Magnezone to outspeed unboosted Crustle at all times.
* 44 EV was put into HP to keep Magnezone to keep its HP odd number to minimize the proportional damage as well as providing that much of additional bulk.
* Choice Specs, while the raw power is not great as other Z-Crystals, promises the consistency of the power of each moves Magnezone possesses.

Usage Tips

* Since this set locks Magnezone into one move, it is important to decide what move is the most appropriate against each opponent.
* Magnezone with this set must be brought in against strong and frail attackers such as Pheromosa, Greninja, Tapu Koko, and others.
* It is the best for Magnezone to avoid match-ups against bulky opponents such as Mega Charizard X which also resists both STAB's, or any other opponents that are commonly equipped with Fake Out or Mold Breaker to bypass Sturdy, such as Mega Gyarados, Hitmonlee, or Kyurem-B.
* Hyper Beam must be used with some consideration, since this leaves Magnezone unable to execute a move next turn, leaving it vulnerable to Substitute users.

Team Options

* This set's team partners are relatively simple. Mega Charizard X and other Fire-types appreciate Magnezone's ability to take on Water-types such as Mega Slowbro and Primarina, and Kyurem-B and other Dragon-types appreciate Magnezone's ability to take on Steel-types.
* Allies such as Mega Venusaur, Kartana, Keldeo, Buzzwole, or others appreciates Magnezone's ability to eliminate Flying and Fairy-types. Add in that it helps them with Psychic types as well. Mega Venusaur, Keldeo, Buzzwole lose to Lele. Kartana though resists Psychic but yeah gets KOed by most Special moves so yeah that could still be in that list.
* Magnezone appreciates any allies that can deal with Ground-type or other Sturdy opponents, such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Venusaur, Tapu Fini, or others.

Set Comments

It also has more reliable accuracy.
* Hidden Power Ice always OHKO and defeat uninvested Landorus-T, while it grants Magnezone a chance to win against Garchomp for more than 50% of chances.
* Metal Sound is used against specially defensive opponents that Magnezone cannot 2HKO with other sets, such as specifically defensive walls like Chansey, Umbreon, Mega Venusaur, or others.
* Toxic is an option to avoid Sucker Punch from Golem when both Magnezone and Golem are down to 1 HP, and it gives Magnezone much better chances against Calm Mind users or walls like Chansey, Blissey, and Deoxys-D that do not anticipate Toxic. This is perfectly fine but these analysis sets would be used in common play and the opponents using Golem would predict that. Add in that they might predict Toxic and go for Earthquake

Set Details

* Maximum investment in Special Attack along with Modest nature will let Magnezone hit as hard as possible.
* 136 Speed EVs allow Magnezone to outspeed Adamant Golem.
* The rest of the EV's are put into HP to let Magnezone take hits as best as possible. Also Gigavolt Havoc KOes Zard X after Flare Blitz recoil if it doesn't use Substitute (I think you talked about this somewhere before, this doesn't happen too often but thats Magnezone's only wincon + another reason which is why we have this HP investment)
* Electrium Z allows Magnezone to fire off an extremely powerful Gigavolt Havoc, which is strong enough to dent most opponents in the metagame that is not resistant to it.
This set can also defeat

Usage Tips

* It is the best to use Gigavolt Havoc in order to finish the opponent as soon as possible, if the opponent is not Ground-type. Neutral damage from Gigavolt Havoc with Thunder will do more damage even when the target takes supereffective damage from Flash Cannon.
* Use Hidden Power Ice to defeat any foe that has exploitable weakness to Ice-type moves, such as Garchomp and Landorus-T.
* Metal Sound is used against the foes that Magnezone cannot 2HKO.

Such as
* Allies that are always able to defeat Kyurem-B on one on one, such as bulky Mega Mawile and Mega Metagross, are good options to choose with Water-types such as Primarina or Mega Gyarados to cover weakness of Fire.
Mega Heracross is another good partner as it can deal with Kyurem-Black, Mega Gyarados, Chansey, Snorlax, and other Sturdy Pokemon including Golem and Donphan

Checks and Counters

Fire-types: Magnezone's underwhelming speed leaves it vulnerable to Fire-types, from which majority of them are faster. Mega Charizard X takes halved damage from both STAB-moves from Magnezone, and Salazzle can break Magnezone's Sturdy with Fake Out and proceed to KO it with Inferno Overdrive. Alolan Marowak, although uncommon, is menacing threat to Magnezone due to its ability Lightning Rod which grants it immunity to Electric-type moves and its Fire-typing that lets is resist Steel-type STAB moves and most other coverage moves.

Bulky Ground-types: Even outsides bulky Ground-types with Sturdy, Magnezone struggles with most Ground-type opponents. Zygarde-50% forms survive HP Ice without any investment, Stunfisk resists Flash Cannon and is never OHKOed by HP Ice, and Landorus-T with appropriate Special Defense investment can 2HKO Magnezone outright.

Mega Venusaur: Venusaur loses less than half of its health from Flash Cannon without much investment in bulk, resists Electric-STAB moves, and takes halved damaged from Hidden Power Ice thanks to its ability Thick Fat. These defensive traits allow Venusaur to wear down Magnezone with Leech Seed, and Magnezone can't do much in return especially Venusaur has Sleep Powder. However, Magnezone can 2HKO or 3HKO Mega Venusaur if it carries Metal Sound.
Specially Bulky Pokemon: Chansey, Blissey, Mega Tyranitar, Umbreon

Overview

Although it has underwhelming Speed tier, Magnezone is able to take on many threats in current metagame such as Mega Gyarados lacking Earthquake, Magearna, Mega Mawile, Tapu Lele, and plethora of other threats with its fantastic ability Sturdy that allows it to almost always take a hit, a good typing that provides 11 resistances and immunities, and 130 Special Attack stat. However, Magnezone's disappointing weaknesses to Fire, Fighting, and Ground-types makes it struggle against Mega Charizard X, Hitmonlee, Golem, Donphan, Stunfisk, and others. In addition, a lot of opponents Pokemon carry Ground-type coverage moves such as Earthquake or Earth Power such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Metagross, and Kyurem-B, and Magnezone usually loses in most cases if they do. Especially against Fighting-type opponents, such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Heracross, Magnezone is heavily reliant on Sturdy to take a hit and retaliate, and this may or may not be successful depending on both Magnezone and its opponents' movesets. Despite these struggles Magnezone faces in the metagame, it stands as one of the best Electric-type attacker that is capable of fitting in many teams.
All good in the Overview!

Thunder, although the accuracy is not reliable as Thunderbolt is, would be the best Electric-STAB move for Magnezone to launch more powerful Z-move. Zap Cannon has slightly better Z-power and it sometimes allow Magnezone to OHKO foes that it cannot with Thunder. In addition, one can use this move to paralyze the foes with some luck, letting Magnezone have better chances against foes that it would normally lose to. Flash Cannon is second STAB move that is used to hit Golem, Kyurem-B, and others that resist or are immune to Thunder and Gigavolt Havoc. It also has more reliable accuracy. Hidden Power Ice always OHKO and defeat uninvested Landorus-T, while it grants Magnezone a chance to win against Garchomp for more than 50% of chances. Metal Sound is used against specially defensive opponents that Magnezone cannot 2HKO with other sets, such as specifically defensive walls like Chansey, Umbreon, Mega Venusaur, or others.

Set Details

Maximum investment in Special Attack along with Modest nature will let Magnezone hit as hard as possible. 136 Speed EVs allow Magnezone to outspeed Adamant Golem. The rest of the EV's are put into HP to let Magnezone take hits as best as possible. Electrium Z allows Magnezone to fire off an extremely powerful Gigavolt Havoc, which is strong enough to dent most opponents in the metagame that is not resistant to it.

Usage Tips

It is the best to use Gigavolt Havoc in order to finish the opponent as soon as possible, if the opponent is not Ground-type. Neutral damage from Gigavolt Havoc with Thunder will do more damage even when the target takes supereffective damage from Flash Cannon. Use Hidden Power Ice to defeat any foe that has exploitable weakness to Ice-type moves, such as Garchomp and Landorus-T. Metal Sound is used against the foes that Magnezone cannot 2HKO.

Team Options

Due to Magnezone's weakness to Ground and Fire, Water-types such as Mega Gyarados or Tapu Fini will be a great partner to cover these weakness. Most Rock-types, especially the ones with Rockium Z, deals with all Charizard variants well thanks to their resistance to Fire being super effective against both of the Mega Charizard variants, which Magnezone is weak to. Allies that are always able to defeat Kyurem-B on one on one, such as bulky Mega Mawile and Mega Metagross, are good options to choose with Water-types such as Primarina or Mega Gyarados to cover weakness of Fire. Mega Heracross is an excellent partner for Magnezone in particular due to its ability to defeat Kyurem-B, Snorlax, Chansey, Mega Gyarados, Golem, and Donphan with ease.

Other Options

Mirror Coat is an interesting option to retaliate against Special Attackers, and this tends to work well thanks to Sturdy. It also lets Magnezone win against Meloetta and Genesect, which is never OHKOed by any attacks from Magnezone while as the former can 2HKO back using Shadow Ball or HP Fire while equipping Choice Specs and the latter can use Flamethrower twice. You won't say never KOed in Genesect's case as it gets OHKOed by the Electric Z set and HP Fire as well. However, using Gigavolt Havoc is better in general, especially if opponent has a chance to carry Substitute which will make Magnezone simply waste a turn if it makes wrong prediction. If this move is used, one must choose Rash nature and minimize Magnezone's Special Defense IV's to return as much damage as possible against threats like Meloetta. Steelium Z will let Magnezone use Z-Metal Sound to hinder opponent's Special Defense and let Magnezone gain Special Attack, and this is a great option in terms of facing defensive opponents such as Calm Mind Sableye, Chansey, and Dusclops. It also grants Magnezone an access to Corkscrew Crash from Flash Cannon. Protect is an option to block Fake Out from Salazzle, Mega Lopunny, and Hitmonlee to make sure Sturdy is in tact so Magnezone is able to retaliate, but Magnezone usually has hard time finding a moveslot for this. Toxic is an option to avoid Sucker Punch from Golem when both Magnezone and Golem are down to 1 HP, and it gives Magnezone much better chances against Calm Mind stallers or walls like Chansey, Blissey, and Deoxys-D Now banned that does not anticipate Toxic; but, that's about it.

Checks and Counters

Other Sturdy users Pokemon: <--- Other Sturdy users, such as Donphan and Golem, if they carry Rock Tomb, can slow Magnezone down while surviving an attack thanks for Sturdy, and proceed to OHKO Magnezone with Earthquake next turn. Air Balloon set is not able to deal with aforementioned opponents with such sets.

Mold Breaker users Pokemon: <--- Both Pinsir and Mega Gyarados have Mold Breaker, and they can easily defeat Magnezone using Earthquake. Kyurem-B can OHKO Magnezone with very high chance using Earth Power without any investment. However, aforementioned threats will lose against Magnezone if they do not carry such Ground-type coverage.

Fire-types:
Magnezone's underwhelming speed leaves it vulnerable to Fire-types, from which majority of them are faster. Mega Charizard X takes halved damage from both STAB-moves from Magnezone, and Salazzle can remove Magnezone's Sturdy with Fake Out and proceed to KO it with Inferno Overdrive. Alolan Marowak, although uncommon, is menacing threat to Magnezone due to its ability Lightning Rod which grants it immunity to Electric-type moves and its Fire-typing that lets is resist Steel-type STAB moves and most Magnezone's other coverage moves.

Bulky Ground-types: Even outsides bulky Ground-types with Sturdy, Magnezone struggles with most Ground-type opponents. Zygarde-50% forms survive HP Ice without any investment, Stunfisk resists Flash Cannon and is never OHKOed by HP Ice, and Landorus-T with appropriate Special Defense investment can 2HKO Magnezone outright it can survie non Specs HP Ice with 236 SpD which is too much and isn't seen. Mega Swampert got released so add that as well

Specially bulky foes: Mega Tyranitar can take a Flash Cannon from even Choice Specs variants thanks to its massive natural bulk and a boost from Sandstorm and can KO it with Rock Tomb + Earthquake combo. Chansey, Blissey, and Umbreon are impossible for Magnezone to surmount without carrying Metal Sound.
Nicely done! Now that check above counts and also implement a few more changes in this one

Magnezone appreciates any allies that can deal with Ground-type or other Sturdy opponents, such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Venusaur, Tapu Fini, or others. I'm a bit confused about this line, feel free to counter question me if I got you wrong

Mega Gyarados, Mega Venusaur, and Tapu Fini can all take on Ground-type Pokemon for Magnezone.
which should be much clearer. Thanks for the time, sending this to GP.

Overview

Although it has an underwhelming Speed tier, Magnezone is able to take on many threats in the current metagame such as Mega Gyarados lacking Earthquake, Magearna, Mega Mawile, Tapu Lele, and a plethora of others threats with its fantastic ability Sturdy that allows allowing it to almost always take a hit, a good typing that provides 11 resistances and immunities total, and a base 130 Special Attack stat. However, Magnezone's disappointing weaknesses to Fire, Fighting, and Ground-types makes it struggle against Mega Charizard X, Hitmonlee, Golem, Donphan, Stunfisk, and others. In addition, a lot of Pokemon, such as including Mega Metagross, Mega Gyarados, and Kyurem-B, (comma) carry a Ground-type coverages move such as Earthquake or Earth Power, and Magnezone usually loses in most cases if they do meaning Magnezone usually loses to them. Especially against Fighting-types opponents, such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Heracross, Magnezone is heavily reliant on Sturdy to take a hit and retaliate, and this may or may not be successful depending on both Magnezone's moveset and its opponents' movesets foe's. Despite these the struggles Magnezone faces in the metagame, it stands as one of the best Electric-type attackers that is capable of fitting in on many teams.

Moves

Electroweb is the most important move for this set, (comma) since because it does decent damage with STAB and lowers foe's targets' Speed by one stage, letting it Magnezone outspeed many opponents, foes such as Mega Gyarados, (comma) and Kyurem-B and let Magnezone hit its foe to hit them first next turn. This can be done succeeds thanks to Magnezone's ability Sturdy and Air Balloon that lets letting Magnezone take at least one hit from the entire metagame. Thunderbolt is another reliable STAB move with decent power and it hits Gyarados, Mega Charizard Y, and others. Flash Cannon is another STAB move that and lets Magnezone deal with Fairy-types such as Mimikyu and Tapu Lele, Rock-types such as Crustle, (comma) and Golem without Rock Tomb, and Choice Scarf Kyurem-B. Hidden Power Ice can be used to likely defeat Garchomp high chances and always OHKO Landorus-T, while Hidden Power Fire can be used to deal with Genesect, Kartana, and Ferrothorn, if Magnezone's teammates cannot handle them.

Set Details

Maximum Special Attack investment with a Modest nature allows Magnezone to hit as hard as possible, and full invesetment on investment in Speed allows Magnezone to outspeed many opponents foes after Electroweb which have Ground-type coverage in the form of Earthquake or Earth Power. Air Balloon grants Magnezone an immunity to Ground-type moves before it is hit, and this lets Magnezone letting it safely reduce Speed using Electroweb against Mega Gyarados, Kyurem-B, and Mega Pinsir and to finish them with appropriate moves next turn. 252 Special Attack EVs and Modest nature let Magnezone hit as hard as possible, and 252 Speed EVs let Magnezone outspeed all relevant opponents up to Genesect after Electroweb.

Usage Tips

This set can be used as a lure to Gyarados, Kyurem-B, Donphan, or and other foes that are reliant on Ground-type moves to defeat Magnezone, since Magnezone can defeat all of them with Electroweb and appropriate STAB moves. If the opposing team has formidably specially defensive opponents Pokemon such as Blissey or and Snorlax, it is generally not recommended to send Magnezone out at all. Electroweb must be used first if the foe outspeeds Magnezone, (comma) so that Magnezone can survive a hit or avoid heavy damage with Sturdy or Air Balloon and attack first next turn.

Team Options

This set still struggles with strong physical attackers that can survive Magnezone's attack such as Sawk and Mega Heracross, as they can severely dent Magnezone with their respective STAB moves. Allies such as Mega Slowbro that are capable of sponging strong physical hits from Pokemon such as Mega Metagross, (comma) and or Buzzwole, (comma) like Mega Slowbro, will deal with the aforementioned threats as well. Allys Teammates such as Tapu Lele, Mega Venusaur, or and Mimikyu are capable of defeating Fighting-types, (comma) which Magnezone often struggles with. Mega Charizard X is the worst opponent foe Magnezone can ever face, since it resists both Magnezone's STAB moves from Magnezone and can KO it. In addition, Magnezone is not capable of defeating special walls such as Chansey, Blissey, and Umbreon. Strong physical attackers such as Landorus-T, Garchomp, or and Crustle can help Magnezone's team with these issues.

Moves

Thunderbolt, When paired with Choice Specs, Thunderbolt becomes a very powerful STAB move that always OHKOes the likes of Primarina, (comma) or and Porygon-Z, which would otherwise survive a hit and bring trouble to Magnezone. Flash Cannon is a second STAB move that lets Magnezone OHKO Non-Curse Mimikyu without Curse and Whimsicott without Barbiri Berry, (comma) which would otherwise survive a hit and manages to stall out Magnezone, and as well as Tapu Lele, (comma) which can 2HKO Magnezone with HP Hidden Power Fire or Focus Blast. Hidden Power Ice will have a 100% chance to OHKO always OHKOes Garchomp and Landorus-T with Choice Specs, and Hidden Power Fire lets Magnezone deal with opposing Magnezone and Ferrothorn much easier more easily. Hyper Beam is used to hit opponents foes that resists both of Magnezone's STAB moves from Magnezone such as Mega Charizard X and other Electric-types, and its sheer power often means it OHKOes them.

Set Details

252 Special Attaack EVs with a Modest nature let Magnezone hit as hard as possible and maximize the efficiency effectiveness of Choice Specs. 212 Speed EV's were given EVs are for Magnezone to outspeed unboosted Crustle at all times. 44 EVs are was put into HP to keep Magnezone's to keep its HP at an odd number to minimize the proportional fraction-based damage as well as providing that much of and provide that much additional bulk. Choice Specs, while the raw power is not as great as other Z-Crystals in raw power, promises the consistency of the power of consistent power for each moves Magnezone possesses.

Usage Tips

Since this set locks Magnezone into one move, it is important to decide what move is the most appropriate against each opponent. Magnezone with this set must be brought in against strong and frail attackers such as Pheromosa, Greninja, Tapu Koko, and others. It is the best for Magnezone to avoid match-ups against bulky opponents such as Mega Charizard X, (comma) which also resists both STAB's STAB moves, or and any other opponents foes that are commonly equipped with Fake Out or Mold Breaker to bypass Sturdy, such as Mega Gyarados, Hitmonlee, or and Kyurem-B. Hyper Beam must be used with some consideration, since this it leaves Magnezone unable to execute a move next turn, leaving it vulnerable to Substitute users. In addition, Mega Charizard Y survives Hyper Beam and simply 2HKOes Magnezone afterwards, and it leaves making this move very prediction-reliant.

Team Options

This set's team partners are relatively simple. Mega Charizard X and other Fire-types appreciate Magnezone's ability to take on Landorus-T and Water-types such as Mega Slowbro and Primarina, Landorus-T, while other Dragon-types appreciate Magnezone's ability to take on Steel-types. Allies such as Mega Venusaur, Kartana, Keldeo, and Buzzwole, (comma) or others appreciates Magnezone's ability to eliminate Flying-(hyphen) and Fairy-types. They also appreciate Magnezone effectively dealing with Tapu Lele. Mega Gyarados, Mega Venusaur, and Tapu Fini can all take on Ground-type Pokemon for Magnezone.
