Mega Evolutions can be used on monotype teams that correspond to the original type of the Pokemon. Mega Aggron is usuable on mono-Rock and Mega Charizard is usable on mono-Flying, but Mega Ampharos cannot be used on mono-Dragon, for a few examples.
