  • Dear toastman
My sarcasm has flew far above your head. I was mocking the smogon users that think chess shouldn't be considered sport.

not at all me friend, just want you to understand that we agree
Going off what you said in that post, I truly believe we are in the era of narcissism and that the advent of technology has brought this upon us all. We will never be more readily connected to one another, yet so alienated at the same time again. Strange times man.

It is not a unique human thing that is new.... it is just more easily seen than it was in the past. More in your face and recognizable.

I will agree but disagree my friend. Yes, ego has always played a big role here; but when Narcissus saw his reflection in the water and fell in love is not really comparable. The happenstance that Narcissus came upon his reflection was chance. This platform we have been given to place our ego upon is anything but chance. This is no accident. It is the will of some to deter man from enlightenment. Strange times indeed.
I'm stuck between keeping Darvish (for 4 rounds later a price tag) and Corey Seager in Del Rios league. Originally my choice was Seager but now I'm leaning towards Darvish...it's tough having lots of good keepers. Villar is also an option as is Gary Sanchez.

Stop using my profile to carry your own conversations with each other you dweebs. Talk about how shit you guys are where everyone else can see.

He's just scared that he won't be able to fluke his way past me this year.

My keepers in both leagues set me up as an easy top 3 offense and arguably the best offense in each league.

Ready to dominate tonight and smash Stall and BT again this season. :)
Factoring in projected auction values and even factoring in my overpay for Trout, I'm projected to pay $158 for a set of keepers valued at $218. Now the battle is finding good pitchers this year ha

My strategy is honestly ridiculous and something I'd never thought I'd do but I'm going to go for it this year and see if I can rebuild my stock.
Do what you love, and you'll never work a day in your life. Mostly because that field isn't fucking hiring.
Another year, another season of smashing ButteredToast et al in fantasy baseball.

    Happy 2017, buddy!

Happy 2017. And to year 3 of me beating Stallion in fantasy baseball.
Want to join the official mafia game?
    ButteredToast
    ButteredToast
It depends really. I have been on a kickass 72 hour work week of late and my free time to do things like mafia is few and far between. If you're looking for a super active bloke, then I don't know if I can do it.

But if you're looking for someone to stay semi-involved, I can do my best.

It's up to you. If I run out of subs, I'll give a holler.

Going into the holidays working in a grocery store doesn't lend itself too much to being a good and consistent mafia player. And I'd like to give it my best.

But do give me a ring if you need a fill in.
Between the fans and their players, I think I hate the Jays more than even the Angels. If you guys pull off the comeback vs. Cleveland, I'll be rooting hard for you.

    I have so many questions...

By "Blue Jays Fans" do you mean Moi and Texas? Or the rowdy crowds-men who litter on the field?

Are the Blue Jays now hated more by you than the Cardinals? Is David Freese or Jose Bautista more hated by you?
    Stallion

The latter, not the people in the thread. And yes they are more hated then the Cardinals

And Joey Batts for sure. Freese is a lucky journeyman but he's not an arrogant + entitled dickhead
Good battle this week but this is my year. Good luck against Stall (maybe - unless he pulls off an amazing comeback)

Yeah, I concede. I was hoping you wouldn't start Hendricks or Ross because it was like 11am at work and you hadn't. I thought I could win avg and qs to maybe take the lead. Oh well.

At least my red sox are doing well and I'm still winning my money league!
i'll semi-consider the offer for Hendricks, tho Nunez has fallen off and I wanna see what I have in Bregman and Tulo for a bit

Alright. I just have 3 SS and I could use some low risk pitching. I'd pretty much take any one of your pitchers for him.

Smacktalk doesnt seem to be working on the app now for me, or I'd try to talk to you there about something.
Dark-types aren't in the game yet. The Pokemon are only from Gen 1, when the typing wasn't introduced yet and no mon from Gen 1 got the typing. (Besides Mega Gyara but yeah)

Haha, thanks for the tip. But heads up, the whole thread is a satire if you didn't figure it out.

    I didn't know for sure, just thought I'd say it here in case it was real n_n. I never post in firebot anyway, scary place ;_;

    ButteredToast
Yeah. Don't go waving around metal poles in lightning storms, sticking your phone underwater, going near burning buildings, or whatever else the first post had you doing in the name of pokemon.

Firebot is not that scary of a place once you get use to the atmosphere. I lurked for a good 3 years before I started posting semi-regularly. As long as you're yourself (or a bombastic/sarcastic version of yourself) you'll be fine. We really only pick at the people who are ridiculously immature. Don't feel shy about posting there if you're not forcing things.

You know, I really did not like the pick when I heard about it because the Red Sox do shit jobs developing power prospects. The last one we did with any success was Anthony Rizzo. The guy also didn't seem that fantastic, coming out of nowhere in college. I have since grown to like the pick a bit better. He should be a solid player moving forward... Maybe like a Reddick comp.

As for sticking in the next few years, I feel that's unlikely. He'll probably play at High-A Greenville into AA Portland and should he continue probably AAA next year. The Red Sox are pretty stacked with prospects so I feel a 40-man spot and a September call up would be at least 2-3 years away.

And considering our IF is as set as our OF, guys like Moncada, Devers, etc will probably end up in LF
    Del Rio

Fair enough. I'll admit the power was likely a fluke, but also consider hitting in the SEC means hitting against some of the top future pitching prospects. The other tools are legit tho. I hope he does well for y'all if he sticks around
