Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Honestly, Game Freak needs to stop making moves like this. Sure, they’re less broken in the Battle Stadium/VGC metagames, but in 6v6 formats, they’re practically OHKO moves with 100% accuracy. Good riddance.
Can’t wait for a quickban tidal wave because there’s no way in the deepest pits of hell that this generation’s PU should resemble the previous generation’s RU.
You know the tier shifts from the past few months have been ass when PU now strongly resembles the previous generation’s RU. Not even the previous generation’s already unfairly powercrept NU, but freaking RU!
Jirachi moved from UU to RU
Feraligatr moved from RU to NU
Bellibolt moved from NU to PU
Cetitan moved from NU to PU
Delphox moved from NU to PU
Drednaw moved from NU to PU
Emboar moved from NU to PU
Flamigo moved from NU to PU
Florges moved from NU to PU
Gastrodon moved from NU to PU
Gligar...

Chomp goes from never dropping to UU for 5 generations straight to being used on more than half of all UU teams. It’s almost like Garchomp is required on all competitively viable UU teams.
Dhelmise was in the same boat as Starmie. NU by usage but good in both UU and RU. Hell, even generations before the infamous Dexit happened had Pokémon that were good in the tier above where they actually ended up, like Golurk in Gen 5 RU, Alomomola in Gen 6 UU, and Hariyama in Gen 7 RU.
NU and ZU especially. This gen’s NU legit resembles the previous generation’s UU. I don’t even blame powercreep. I blame things like the January shifts, Pokémon that were unbanned from a tier in one month and dropping the tier below the next month, and just the fact that the tiering system is...
