Also even if they were trickabke, the item makes you Tera into your own Tera type, so u can't force people to transform into specific typings.

they’re not removable btw. can’t believe i voted in unkoffable tera garg
Meh. At least :garganacl: Garganacl doesn't get Leftovers as long as it's using Tera Shard and at least you know what type it is from the get-go rather than it randomly walling you with the 50/50 between Water and Fairy--surprise, the coin landed on its edge and it's Ghost! Small victories.

edit:
also tera shard doesn’t affect the type of tera blast. have fun turning into a normal type lol
Oh, right. Thanks for the reminder since this day has been infuriating enough that I legitimately forgot already. :regieleki: Regieleki should be "fine" then, if it's usual annoying self. (In before Tera Normal Tera Blast somehow breaks something else.)

It's been a long 24 hours, so it's time to reveal the distribution of all the slate 1 moves and abilities!

Zero to Hero -:Palafin:

Additionally, there are a couple things to note:
- To be in line with the other hazard-setting moves, Electroweb's effect will also be blocked by Covert Cloak
- Since the winning Star Shards item sub and the winning Revavroom adjustment sub contradict each other (where you would be able to have 2 identical moveslots if you had a Torque move + Spin Out + the right Star Shard), the part about Spin Out being replaced by a Torque move has been removed
- VaporeMons will be live on DH very soon! There are a couple things to note about the metagame once it becomes playable, however:
-- Since I can't put in Terastalize without making it legal, Tera Shard is instead based on your Hidden Power type, which you can set by manually putting typing it in with the Import/Export button (Here's an example of what it should look like). Because you can't set your Hidden Power to Normal or Fairy, temporary items that do just that have been added.
-- Due to slight coding difficulties, Shelter is currently a placeholder that works completely fine, it just can't boost Defense more than once when it removes a hazard. This should be fixed pretty soon, but this will have to do for now.
-- For the sake of being much easier to code this way, the Star Shards have been coded as form-changing items, so Revavroom has 5 new forms in this mod through the Star Shards. Functionally, they work completely as intended (they just make uploaded replays look uglier since their sprites won't show up)

With that, submissions for slate 2 are now open!

Name: Housekeeping
Effect: Removes hazards upon switch-in.
Permanent: Yes
Mold Breaker: No
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: Happiny line and Corviknight
Justification: middle finger emoji

Name: Grime Seep
Effect: The opponent cannot switch out through the use of any moves (U-Turn, Flip Turn, Volt Switch, Parting Shot, Teleport, Chilly Reception, Baton Pass).
Permanent: No
Mold Breaker: Yes
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: i wanted this ability to work with poisons and maybe a few grasses or grounds but idk if some other name would be better
Justification: If you want an option to punish brainless pivoting then here's a move for you. It'll still absolutely exist but this is a more straightforward method of counterplay to those.

:scizor:
Name: Scizor
Type: unchanged
Abilities: Intimidate / Technician | Light Metal
New Moves: Roost
Removed Moves: none
Justification: Scizor's bulk is extremely middling, 70/100/80, often leaving it reliant on its typing to get much done which doesn't really cut it. Intimidate should be perfectly fine for this, since its typing has mainly been used for its special bulk in spite of it being substantially lower and it NOW HAS recovery.

EDIT: People told me to add it lmao, something felt fishy about it with this thing having a kinda similar defensive spread as Lando-T but here we are.

Justification: in terms of moves, these three have always felt neglected, since they were almost always more useful when backed behind a z crystal or no guard. here i’ve made powerful moves with low accuracy, but with the benefit of burning, paralyzing, or confusing the opponent if you miss, depending on the move. this allows for progress to still be made throughout a match no matter what happens, whether it be through actual damage or inflicting a status condition.

Justification: obligatory physical electric move submission. also deals big damage when breaking screens, which is nice.

Can Be Knocked Off (Yes or No): Yes

Dusk: Volt Switch, Wild Charge, Nuzzle, Earthquake
Removed Moves: none
Justification: rock dogs get good. midday mainly functions as a technician attacker, with rock/fairy being a solid offensive typing. midnight is the slowest of the dogs, so i thought a good way to circumvent its speed would be priority. it can also clean up teams with moxie. dusk doggo is basically better iron thorns lol

:sv/bellibolt:
Name: Bellibolt
Type:

Water

Abilities: Electromorphosis / Static / Volt Absorb (HA)
New Moves: Surf, Hydro Pump, Liquidation, Flip Turn, Ice Beam, Earth Power
Removed Moves: none
Justification: frog from water gets water typing. this also compliments electromorphosis, since bolt has more resistances than it had before, electro can activate with less risk involved. bolt also gets some coverage moves for more of an offensive presence, particularly against ground types (this guy had the driest movepool for no reason)

:sm/gogoat:
Name: Gogoat
Type:
Grass
Rock

Abilities: Sap Sipper / Stamina / Grass Pelt (HA)
New Moves: Wood Hammer, Stealth Rock, Swords Dance
Removed Moves: none
Justification: the spot for a grass/rock mon in gen 9 is vacant, so i felt that gogoat was the most fit to fill it. stamina helps patch up gogoat's (oddly) shoddy defense, while wood hammer gives it a better STAB move. it also has rocks because mountain goat

Priority: +0
Flags (ex: Contact, Sound): Contact (BB only), Protect
Potential Pokémon With This Move: :charizard::braviary::hydreigon: | :garganacl::avalugg-hisui::tyranitar:
Justification: Reliable moves for two types that didn't have good coverage on the physical/special side.
Name: Light-Weight Cleats
Effect: On switch-in, if hazards are present, holder takes hazard damage before moving them to the opponent's side of the field if possible. Single use.
Can Be Knocked Off (Yes or No): Yes
Ignored by Klutz (Yes or No): No
Fling Power & Effect: 40 BP, moves hazards on the user's side of the field to the opponent's
Justification: Why don't we just take the hazards, and PUSH them somewhere else? Considering Slate 1 just gave Ceaseless Edge and Stone Axe wider distribution and two cousins, Gen 9's hazards game needs some stronger tools to combat it, so here's pseudo-Court Change in disposable item form. Cleats help reverse the massive momentum hazards can grant, although for maximum profit, they need to be put onto a mon that can withstand all the SR and spike damage (plus is ideally immune to Toxic). Hazard stack teams will also need to slot in a dedicated spinner/defogger of their own much more often now. It being a one time use item means it won't eclipse Boots/buffed Overcoat, which provide game-long protection against hazards, while Cleats are a counterplay tool rather than protection.

Name: Limit Anklets
Effect: If the holder lowers its own stats, the stat drop is negated and the user loses 1/16 of their max HP for every stat stage that would've lowered.
Can Be Knocked Off (Yes or No): Yes
Ignored by Klutz (Yes or No): No
Fling Power & Effect: tbd
Justification: For mons without Contrary, an option to spam your Superpowers, Leaf Storms, Overheats and Draco Meteors without them getting weaker, at the cost of your longevity. Could maybe work on Shell Smash mons, but the mons that do that usually have a much more preferable item.

Name: Eject Preserver
Effect: If the user's ability triggers or is active when given this item, switches out. Single use.
Can Be Knocked Off (Yes or No): Yes
Ignored by Klutz (Yes or No): No
Fling Power & Effect: tbd
Justification: Very useful for scouting and pivoting, most obvious use is putting it on an Intimidate lead to get a free scout/pivot at the start of a game. Can also be tricked onto an opponent with the right ability to literally force a switch.

Name: Cleanse Tag

Effect: Protects the holder against the effects of Curse (Ghost), Perish Song and Shadow Tag. If a Ghost-type target switches out, the holder's move will come out before they escape.
Can Be Knocked Off (Yes or No): Yes
Ignored by Klutz (Yes or No): No
Fling Power & Effect: tbd
Justification: Pursuit'nt. No power boost on switching targets but slap it onto your Gholdengo check of choice and watch them panic if you switch in on them.
:sm/rabsca:
Name: Rabsca
Type:
/

Abilities: Solar Power / Psychic Surge / Magic Guard
New Moves: Defog, Expanding Force, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Flash Cannon, Focus Blast, Meteor Beam, Morning Sun, Nasty Plot, Overheat, Scorching Sands, Strength Sap, Teleport, U-turn
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification: Sun abuser or Psychic Terrain setter that isn’t Walking Wake or Indeedee. Support and Special weather/terrain abuser with NP, expanded coverage, good healing with MS (that especially benefits Drought sets) and sap, and slow pivoting. Not to mention Revival Blessing on top of all that.

:swsh/magnemite::swsh/magneton::swsh/magnezone:
Name: Magnemite/Magneton/Magnezone
Type:
/

Abilities: Magnet Pull / Levitate / Analytic
New Moves: Rapid Spin
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification: imo, all this mon really needed to succeed was a way to get around its crippling x4 Ground weakness. With Levitate as an option, it can roll with the big boys as a defensive pivot and linear special wallbreaker with its two STABs. Grounds aren't screwed over by wrongly predicting if it has Levitate as Magnezone lacks a SE answer and can't pivot out against them with Volt Switch. Also notable is that it already gets the recently buffed Electroweb, and giving it Rapid Spin lets its play the hazard game on both sides with a valuable niche as a not-so squishy Web setter/remover. Included Mite and Ton here because giving them Levitate might give them some significant boost in the lower tiers? idk mostly for consistency.

Name: Tera Blast
Power: 50
Accuracy: 100
PP: 10
Category: Special
Type:

Effect: Changes to physical if the user’s Attack is higher than its Special Attack. If the user is holding a Tera Shard, this move changes type to match the user’s Tera type and gains an additional effect.
Raises the user’s Attack two stages.
Sets Leech Seed on the target.
Burns the target.
Raises the user’s Special Defense one stage.
Paralyzes the target.
Salt Cures the target.
Clears all terrains.
Sets Tailwind on the user’s side.
Destroys the target’s item.
Sets Snow. In Snow, sets Aurora Veil.
Raises the user’s Special Attack two stages.
Resets the target’s stat changes.
Badly poisons the target.
Torments the target.
Suppresses the target’s ability.
Taunts the target.
Raises the user’s Defense one stage.
Cures the party’s status.
Priority: 0
Flags (ex: Contact, Sound): Mirror, Protect
Potential Pokémon With This Move: universal
Justification: Tera Blast is literally unusable atm, so this changes it to work with Tera Shards while also making it a much more unique tool than just Hidden Power 2.

Name: Subdue
Power: –
Accuracy: –
PP: 5
Category: Status
Type:

Effect: The target cannot use an attacking move on its next turn. Drops in accuracy for each consecutive successful use (like Protect).
Priority: 0
Flags (ex: Contact, Sound): Mirror, Protect
Potential Pokémon With This Move:
Justification: Kinda crazy defensive tool. Can’t tell if it’s worse Protect or if the fact that you can use another move makes it way better.

Name: Damage Bank / Savings Bank
Effect: Every time the holder successfully damages another Pokemon with an attack, the bank’s coin counter goes up by one. At 3 coins, the holder’s next attack will have its power doubled (Damage Bank) / the holder restores 33% max HP (Savings Bank), and the coin counter resets to 0.
Can Be Knocked Off (Yes or No): Yes
Ignored by Klutz (Yes or No): Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 100 BP, Pay Day effects.
Justification: Funny idea I had. Damage Bank averages out to about the same damage boost as Life Orb, except you only get a boosted attack one in every three turns. Savings Bank is similar to Shell Bell from last gen, since it’s about double the healing power of Leftovers if you keep attacking, making it good on pivots.

Name: Super Luck
Effect: This Pokémon always takes the lowest possible damage from attacks, and deals the most possible damage. It cannot be crit except when those crits are guaranteed, and it is immune to effects that activate with a less than 100% chance.
Permanent (Yes or No): No
Mold Breaker (Yes or No): Yes
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: Old Distribution + :florges::mismagius::grumpig::arcanine::dudunsparce::persian:
Justification: Resub with a twist from Joltemons. Super Luck kinda blows as an abil and this version of it is really really funny while also being pretty good.

:sv/decidueye::sv/decidueye-hisui:
Name: Decidueye / Decidueye-Hisui
Type:
/

Abilities: Overgrow | Contrary (Alola), Overgrow | Scrappy (Hisui)
New Moves: Poltergeist
Removed Moves: none
Justification: WHERE are the special Grass types in OU??? Decidueye already is fun as a Defogger that Gholdengo can’t safely switch into, either because it gets Knocked or because it eats a Spirit Shackle to the face. With Contrary, it can now run Leaf Storm to threaten mons that would otherwise sit on it, such as Tera Garganacl. Poltergeist also allows it to do even more damage to Gholdengo if it wishes, while also giving it a stronger secondary STAB than cringe bad Spirit Shackle. Meanwhile, Annihilape is still banned, so while I cry myself to sleep, I can at least make a replacement in Decidueye-Hisui. Poltergeist+Triple Arrows are some amazing STABs, and while its coverage is only alright, it really doesn’t need other moves, so you can run SD for more power, or slot in utility options like Knock Off and U-Turn (particularly on Scarf sets).

:sm/Scyther:
Name: Scyther
Type:

Abilities: Sharpness / Technician | Steadfast
New Moves: Dual Wingbeat, Encore, Knock Off, Roost, Sticky Web, Taunt
Removed Moves: none
Justification: An idea I saw in I think the Convergence thread. All of the currently available webbers suck, and Scyther is able to set webs while also being reasonably fast and nowhere near passive. Also adding back a few removed moves because Scizor losing Roost was simply cruel. Sharpness was a flavor suggestion for the Scizor/Kleavor duality, but X-Scissor theoretically goes hard ig. Also webs Scizor/Kleavor lol

:swsh/wigglytuff:
Name: Wigglytuff
Type:

Abilities: Cute Charm / Competitive | Frisk
New Moves: Boomburst, Moonblast, Teleport, Tidy Up
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification: This mon is kind of a do-nothing atm, so here’s some stronger STABs to enable bulky plot sets, plus Tidy Up and Teleport to add utility options. Geomancy got dexited so don’t ask.

Name: Aurora Beam
Power: 70
Accuracy: 100%
PP: 15
Category: Special
Type: Ice
Effect: Has a 100% chance to lower the Special Defense of the target by 1 stage.
Priority: 0
Flags: Protect, Mirror
Potential Pokémon With This Move: :articuno:, :cloyster:, :glaceon:, :frosmoth:, :clawitzer:
Justification: i love fire lash!!!! aurora beam is honestly just a badass name and I always mald that it sucks as a move so I made it special fire lash. albeit weaker than fire lash to make up for stronger users + an arguably more potent offensive typing

:sm/tsareena:
Name: Tsareena
Type: Grass / Fighting
Abilities:
Leaf Guard / Queenly Majesty (Regenerator)
New Moves: +
Knock Off, Bulk Up, Close Combat, Circle Throw
Removed Moves: none
Justification: spinner pivot utility mon tsareena gains the sauce with regenerator and the coveted knock. fighting gives it a stealth rock resistance, so running regenvest with spin/knock/power whip/u-turn is pretty viable, since it’s not taking nearly as much damage from chip. also spinners in such a society of moves that set hazards

Name: Big Game Hunter
Effect: If the opposing Pokemon has a stat boost, this Pokemon's attacking moves have their power multiplied by 1.3x.
Permanent (Yes or No): No
Mold Breaker (Yes or No): No?
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: :mabosstiff:, :cacturne:, :krookodile:, :tinkaton:, :honchkrow:, :lycanroc-midnight:, :spidops:
Justification: way to bonk setup users. original idea was to have 100% crit on mons with a stat boost but that would definitely be too good and like, a way more cracked offensive unaware. mons that get it are either shady characters (all the dark types given + lycanroc-mn) or have something mentioning hunting (tinkaton)

Name: Suppressive Fire
Effect: If this Pokemon moves after its opponent, said opponent's ability is suppressed.
Permanent (Yes or No): No
Mold Breaker (Yes or No): Yes (mold breaker users will not be suppressed)
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: :armarouge:, :houndoom:, :pyroar:, :scovillain:, :typhlosion:, :camerupt:, :clawitzer:, :decidueye:, :decidueye-hisui:
Justification: Core Enforcer is pretty cool as an effect! Since most of the Pokemon here are very slow, it might be a good idea to make it go if the user moves before the opponent?

Name: Prickly Coat
Effect: If the holder is hit by a contact move, the attacking Pokémon takes damage equal to 1/16 of its own maximum HP and a layer of Spikes is set on the opposing side of the field. If the move was Poison-type, a layer of Toxic Spikes is set on the opposing side instead. Holder's Status moves are disabled, like an Assault Vest. Does not set up Spikes ir Toxic Spikes if the holder was hit by a critical hit. If the Prickly Coat is removed/destroyed, scatters three layers of spikes on your side of the field.
Can Be Knocked Off: Yes
Ignored by Klutz: Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 80; causes flinching.
Justification: The Joltemons Ability revamped into an item. Nerfed to give higher risks for the user.

Name: Everstone
Effect: If the holder is not fully evolved, boosts its Attack and Sp. Atk by 50%. Also prevents evolution.
Can be Knocked Off: Yes
Ignored by Klutz: No
Fling Power & Effect: 30
Justification: Eviolith.

Name: Light Ball
Effect: If the holder is :Pikachu:, doubles its Attack and Sp. Atk stat. If the holder is :Pichu:, :Raichu:, :Raichu-Alola:, :Pachirisu:, :Dedenne:, :Pawmi:, :Pawmo:, :Pawmot:, boosts the power of their STAB moves by 20%. At the end of the turn, paralyses the holder.
Can be Knocked Off: Yes
Ignored by Klutz: No
Fling Power & Effect: 30, paralyse
Justification: Slightly expanded Light Ball. Just gives other clones an semi-adaptability boost.

Name: Shady Hood
Effect: If the holder's move would cause a stat change to the target, the number of stages that a stat is increased or decreased is increased by one (Example: If an Espathra holding a Shady Hood uses Lumina Crash, the target would have -3 Sp. Def stages rather than two; if a Mankey holding a Shady Hood uses Rock Smash, the target would have -2 Def stages if it occurs.)
Can Be Knocked Off: Yes
Ignored by Klutz: Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 40
Justification: Hailing from the defunct Item Factory, this old, ragged hood helps those debuffing specialists improve efficacy.
Name: Spicy Extract
Power: -

PP: 15
Category: Status
Type: Grass
Effect: Raises the target(s)'s Attack and lowers their Defense by one stage each, confuses and covers them in Powder for the remainder of the turn. (Powder was the signature move of Vivillion prior to Gen IX)
Priority: +1
Flags: Powder
Potential Pokémon With This Move: :Slowbro-Galar: :Slowking-Galar::Salazzle: :Scovillain:
Justification: I nerfed the move's initial potency to spread it out and added in confusion, because that's what I think GF originally intended to do - if they hit themselves, it'll hurt more. Then I noticed Powder was axed so I figured, why not?

Name: Pursuit
Power: 40

PP: 20
Category: Physical

Justification: Do I need to say more? I did nerf distribution in case some of the users might jump viability a little too high.
Name: Frisk
Effect: Upon entering battle, allows the Pokémon to identify and negate the effects of the held items of all opposing Pokémon for three turns; displaying the message "<Pokemon> frisked <Opponent> and sealed its <Held Item>!" in the order of left to right from that team's perspective.
Permanent: No
Mold Breaker: Yes
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: Current Distribution + :Gumshoos: (Replaces Strong Jaw)
Justification: Frisk is...alright. Frisk + Embargo...might be interesting.

Name: Mountaineer
Effect: Grants the Pokémon immunity from entry hazards and halves the damage from a Rock-type attack.
Permanent: No
Mold Breaker: Yes
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: :Meowth: :Meowth-Galar: :Persian: :Skiddo: :Gogoat: :Lycanroc-Dusk: :Passimian::Perrserker::Kleavor::Slither Wing:
Justification: An modified custom from CAP which shares a name with a Conquest Ability...anyway, it's technically a clone of Purifying Salt, but hazard immunity is nice.

Name: Avalugg-Hisui
Type: Ice/Ground
Abilities
: Mold Breaker / Ice Body / Sturdy
New Moves: Freeze-Dry, Spikes, Earth Power, Counter, Ice Shard, Icicle Spear, Gyro Ball.

Justification: I like Spectral Thief, Electric mons lack a good physical STAB... so why not hit two birds with one stone? This should be fine as it is still weak (85 BP), but the effect is really powerful, so it might still be interesting (and also better than Wild Charge). Thundurus buff?

Now that Tera is banned, Pawmot could still do that but this time with an item, so it should be balanced I think? If this item wins then I guess a Burn Up distrib could be done later.

Name: Nullifying Orb
Effect: This Pokemon's ability is nullified (like with Neutralising Gas, but only the wielder).
Can Be Knocked Off: Yes
Ignored by Klutz: No
Fling Power & Effect: 30 BP, Core Enforcer effect
Justification: Funny way to see Slaking used at all. Also, funny Trick strats.

Name: Spice Sandwich
Effect: If held by Mabosstiff, its Speed is x1.5, and takes x0.75 damages from Fighting and Steel damages.
Can Be Knocked Off: No if Mabosstiff; Yes otherwise
Ignored by Klutz: No
Fling Power & Effect: 30 BP, N/A
Justification: Mabosstiff finally gets a needed buff! The spices were quite effective, and now it's back to a better state than before. And the little damage reduction is nice to have.

Name: Indecisive Orb
Effect: The holder's move have x1.2 BP, but it cannot select the same move twice in a row.
Can Be Knocked Off: Yes
Ignored by Klutz: Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 30 BP, inflicts Torment
Justification: Torment items from Sylvemons are back, with a little twist. Now, it acts more like a Life Orb than a Choice item, as well, I like them but I find the x1.2 Speed to be a bit funky. Like OG Torment items, interesting on every sweeper with setup, that has at least a bit of bulk and doesn't want it reduced by Life Orb recoil.
Name: Pride
Effect: This Pokemon's Attack is raised by 1 stage if it attacks and KOes another Pokemon with a physical move. This Pokemon's Sp.Atk is raised by 1 stage if it attacks and KOes another Pokemon with a special move.
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: Samurott, Pyroar (over Moxie), Quaquaval (for fun), Lucario
Justification: A Moxie variant that encourages mixed sets. Putting it on Samurott so it may finally have a niche.

Name: Grass Pelt
Effect: On switch-in, summons Grassy Terrain. During Grassy Terrain, Def is 1.3333x.
Potential Pokémon With This Ability
: Gogoat, Florges, Zarude
Justification: Grass Pelt sucks. A lot. So this is why I had this little idea, that keeps the same spirit while being miles better.

Name: Cloud Nine
Effect: While this Pokemon is active, the effects of weather conditions and terrains are disabled.
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: OG distrib + Landorus-I (over Sheer Force), Zapdos, Iron Jugulis, Decidueye, Kilowattrel
Justification: I kinda like Cloud Nine as an ability, so I improved it a bit, I've got a feeling terrain and weather wars can kinda come back, and anyway with Paradoxes, the niche is appreciated. One of the problems with the original distrib is that well... Altaria is meh, Golduck is meh, and anyway, both are gonna run another ability (Natural Cure for Altaria, Swift Swim for Golduck). Maybe now the ability can finally see some use.

Name: Long Reach
Effect: This Pokemon's attacks do not make contact with the target. Non-contact moves have their BP x1.2 (only moves that weren't contact before).
Potential Pokémon With This Ability
: Decidueye, Meowscarada, Noivern, Salamence, Staraptor
Justification: Finally a reason to use Long Reach! I also like the concept, but let's be honest, when Protective Pads does the same job... Anyway, the boost is weaker than Tough Claws because many good moves are affected, but it makes the ability interesting.
:sm/magearna:
Name: Magearna
Type: Steel/Fairy
Abilities: Soul-Heart
New Moves: N/A
Removed Moves: Stored Power, Spikes, Shift Gear, Trick, Draining Kiss
Justification: Gen 7 Magearna was balanced, so with this nerf, it should be balanced too. I kinda like AV Magearna, and offensive sets shouldn't be too overbearing without many of its tools.

:sm/gogoat:
Name: Gogoat
Type: Grass/Steel
Abilities
: Sap Sipper/Grass Pelt
New Moves: Shift Gear, Spin Out, Iron Head, Spikes, Knock Off, Gyro Ball
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification: Cope Ferrothorn and Kartana in the same mon! Now, it can assume defensive roles and act like Ferrothorn, with tools like Knock Off, Spikes, Milk Drink, but it can also assume a more offensive role with Shift Gear and Iron Head, as well as Spin Out acting like an interesting STAB.

:sm/overqwil:
Name: Overqwil
Type: Poison/Dark
Abilities: Water Bubble/Swift Swim/Intimidate
New Moves: Dire Claw, Knock Off, Flip Turn, Slack Off
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification: What if Overqwil was a bit better. Water Bubble makes sense on it, so it can abuse Liquidation, Aqua Jet, or its new Flip Turn. Slack Off is mostly for a defensive set with Intimidate so it can have a niche over Muk-Alola, also in the tier, as well as being a reliable bulky Dark with heal with a better physical bulk than Toxapex.

:sm/cloyster:
Name: Cloyster
Type: Water/Ice
Abilities: Shell Armor/Skill Link/Overcoat
New Moves: Ceaseless Edge, Recover, Triple Dive
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification: Funny defensive take on an offensive mon. Cloyster works great as a defensive mon in Hoenn Gaiden, but this time I didn't want to remove its Ice type as it likes it offensively for Shell Smash sets. Instead, I give it Recover and Ceaseless Edge for defensive sets. It can choose between Ice Scales and Overcoat as a defensive ability, both are valuable as it can choose to either have special bulk at all, or being able to not run HDB. It already has two valuables tools in Shelter and Overcoat, so it doesn't even have to run HDB and can remove hazard, which is huge in this meta. Ofc, Shell Smash sets are still very possible, and this is why I give it Triple Dive.

would've gotten this in sooner but i have a head cold and spent all of yesterday evening passed the fuck out
Name: Silver Wind | Ominous Wind
Power: 60
Accuracy: 100
PP: 15
Category: Special
Type: Bug | Ghost
Effect: Lowers target's evasion. Removes all hazards and terrain from the field, and removes screens from the target's side of the field. This counts as an additional effect for the purposes of Covert Cloak and Shield Dust.
Priority: 0
Flags: Protect, Mirror, Wind
Potential Pokémon With This Move: Both: Old distribution + :squawkabilly: :kilowattrel: :dudunsparce: :frosmoth:
Silver Wind: :lilligant: :florges: :lurantis: :rabsca: :slither-wing:
Ominous Wind: :skeledirge: :umbreon: :brambleghast: :espathra: :palossand: :flutter-mane: :roaring-moon: :tornadus: :thundurus: :landorus: :enamorus:
Justification: Hazard removal hazard removal. Silver Wind is unblockable (except by Brambleghast, win) but also has pretty limited distribution, with the most relevant users likely being Slither Wing and Mew. Ominous Wind has much wider distribution, very much akin to pre-nerf Defog, and hits Gholdengo, which is always nice, but Normals like Ursaluna are immune to it.

Name: Wicked | Blazing | Noxious | Magical | Combat Torque
Power: 100
Accuracy: 100
PP: 10
Category: Physical
Type: Dark | Fire | Poison | Fairy | Fighting
Effect: 20% chance to flinch | burn | poison | confuse | paralyze.
Priority: 0
Flags: + Contact
Potential Pokémon With This Move: :revavroom: (all) :lokix: | :coalossal: | :overqwil: | :tinkaton: | :great-tusk: (possibilities. can also be exclusive to rev)
Justification: Just standardizing the Torques real quick and getting rid of some of the more luck-fishy aspects. Reducing the additional chance makes them less annoying to switch into, the contact flag makes them more punishable, Wicked and Blazing are no longer weaker than the others, and Wicked Torque can't do sleep anymore. The extra distributions are a stretch and I'll happily admit it; Coalossal is kind of justifiable because it has wheels but the others are whatever, so if council decides they should just be on Revavroom that's all good.

Name: Mystical Fire | Chilling Water
Power: 75
Accuracy: 100%
PP: 15
Category: Special
Type: Fire | Water
Effect: Lowers target's Sp. Atk | Attack.
Priority: 0
Flags: Unchanged
Potential Pokémon With This Move: Old distribution + :drifblim: :florges: :skeledirge: | Current distribution + :frosmoth:
Justification: Chilling Water was, I think, supposed to be the replacement for Scald, but they forgot to give it a base power, so that's fixed now. And Mystical Fire is here too, giving Florges some coverage.

Name: Poltergeist
Power: 110
Accuracy: 90%
PP: 5
Category: Physical
Type: Ghost
Effect: Fails if the target does not have an item.
Priority: 0
Flags: Unchanged
Potential Pokémon With This Move: Old distribution + :banette: :mimikyu: :houndstone: :basculegion: :ceruledge: :brambleghast:
Justification: Return of good physical Ghost move. There are a bunch of physical Ghosts this gen with no good STAB (at least after Last Respects got banned), and this makes them work. Brambleghast and Ceruledge are the biggest beneficiaries of the totally new guys, but Mimikyu, who has been on the decline ever since gen 7, gets the shot in the arm it needs to hit OU.
Name: Covert Cloak
Effect: Holder is immune to additional effects of moves and takes 90% damage from moves with additional effects.
Can Be Knocked Off: Y
Ignored by Klutz: Y
Fling Power & Effect: 30
Justification: Little buff to Covert Cloak to make it a bit more compelling as a defensive option for checking Tera Shard Garganacl and answering the hazard-setting moves. Best on things with recovery or Regenerator.

Name: Inertia Armor
Effect: Adds 33% of the holder's Attack stat to its Defense stat.
Can Be Knocked Off: Y
Ignored by Klutz: Y
Fling Power & Effect: 100
Justification: "Isn't this a Jolte resub?" No! It's the opposite, and also buffed a little. Very cool on things like Tankchomp. Kind of hilarious on Crabominable, but ultimately diminishing returns.

Name: Magic Flower
Effect: Restores 1/8th of the holder's max HP at the end of the turn if it did not take direct damage or use Substitute.
Can Be Knocked Off: Y
Ignored by Klutz: Y
Fling Power & Effect: 10
Justification: Neat alternative to Leftovers. Punishes overly-passive play.

Name: Punching Glove | Razor Fang | Razor Claw
Effect: Boosts the holder's punch | bite | slicing moves by 20% and prevents them from making contact. These stack with their respective Abilities.
Can Be Knocked Off: Yes
Ignored by Klutz: Yes
Fling Power & Effect: Same
Justification: Razor Fang and Razor Claw are dumb and clones of other items, so here's a general buff to this whole gang.
Name: Nocturnal
Effect: The Pokémon takes half damage from Ghost and Dark-type moves, and any additional effects of those moves do not occur.
Permanent: N
Mold Breaker: Y
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: :hypno: :gengar: :lycanroc-midnight: :umbreon: :gothitelle: :venomoth: :banette: :cresselia: :decidueye:
Justification: In a world where Ghost and Dark are two of the most spammable attacking types, Nocturnal offers a way out. The Psychic and Ghost-types with this Ability get to lose two of their most prominent weaknesses, which is great, but the real selling point is the prevention of additional effects. There are minor ones like Bitter Malice not dropping Attack and dodging the Throat Chop volatile, but the best of the bunch are Knock Off not removing your item and Ceaseless Edge failing to set Spikes. (If my Ominous Wind sub wins, this would also block the evasion drop and hazard removal effect.)

Name: Deep Breathing
Effect: Recovers 25% of the Pokémon's HP every time an opponent lowers one of its stats (same trigger as Defiant / Competitive). Stacks if multiple stats are lowered.
Permanent: N
Mold Breaker: N
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: :oinkologne: :gardevoir: :vigoroth: :hariyama: :donphan: :primeape: :lucario: :mudsdale: :oranguru: :iron-hands: :uxie:
Justification: Defiant and Competitive are neat, so here's a defensive version, or at least a less offensive one. Cool for guys that don't have reliable recovery.

Name: Forewarn
Effect: On switching in, reveals all of the opponent's status moves.
Permanent: N
Mold Breaker: N
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: :hypno: :mismagius: :lucario: :umbreon: :hatterene: :mew:
Justification: Forewarn just kind of sucks. Now it's free information, which is in my opinion an underutilized aspect of the game. It also helps Mew make up for losing all of its recovery options.

Name: Earth Eater
Effect: Regains 25% HP when hit with a Ground-type move. Absorbs Spikes on the Pokémon's side upon switching in (but does not restore any HP).
Permanent: N
Mold Breaker: Y
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: :orthworm: :dugtrio: :dugtrio-alola: :houndstone: :dudunsparce: :muk: :palossand: :sandy-shocks:
Justification: Soft hazard clearing. Only removes Spikes, but Spikes are a big one, while having the standard Earth Eater effects on top. This needed a nerf in MBH, but that was when you could run it on literally anything, so I imagine here having fewer good users will keep it in check.
:sv/brute-bonnet:
Name: Brute Bonnet
Type: Poison / Dark
Abilities: Protosynthesis / Seed Sower (Hidden)
New Moves: Poison Jab, Gunk Shot, Toxic, Sludge Bomb
Removed Moves: None
Justification: Bonnet's not bad, but we have four Grass / Darks and they're all physical attackers except Wo-Chien. Poison / Dark sets it apart since the competition there is less steep and none of the others (Overqwil, Skuntank, Alolan Muk) are really OU material. It's a very good defensive typing to leverage with its natural bulk, and I kept its move additions slim because it doesn't really need much. Seed Sower as a hidden is just a cherry on top, hearkening back to its original typing, granting it some much-desired passive recovery, and weakening Earthquake.

:sv/iron-jugulis:
Name: Iron Jugulis
Type: Dark / Flying
Abilities: Quark Drive / Aerilate (Hidden)
New Moves: Roost, Defog, Explosion, Work Up, Echoed Voice
Removed Moves: None
Justification: Jugulis really just wants to not have to hit Hurricanes all the time, so Aerilate lets it upgrade to Hyper Voice instead, making it much more consistent outside of rain teams. Work Up is not Nasty Plot but is still a way to boost, which it also loves. Roost and Defog are obligatory for an options-starved Flying-type. Explosion is funny with Aerilate. Lastly, I'm told Echoed Voice is usable when it's not Normal-type? I'll have to see it to believe it but it can't hurt.

:sv/iron-leaves:
Name: Iron Leaves
Type: Grass / Psychic
Abilities: Quark Drive / Sharpness (Hidden)
New Moves: Psycho Cut, Bitter Blade
Removed Moves: None
Justification: Iron Leaves is in such an awkward position, with one of the worst typings in the game, and I'm hesitant to change it because its signature move shares one of its types... so here's a different option, going full in on insane power. Psycho Cut is a flavour addition; the important things are Sharpness and Bitter Blade. Sharpness by itself is a gigantic buff, making it actually hit hard with Leaf Blade, Psyblade, and Sacred Sword, while Bitter Blade is another huge Sharpness move and one that provides it with a safeguard against chip damage and excellent coverage all in one, letting it hit Steels not weak to Sacred Sword like Gholdengo and Corviknight.

:sv/electrode: :sv/electrode-hisui:
Name: Electrode | Electrode-Hisui
Type: Electric / Normal | Electric / Grass
Abilities: Soundproof / Electric Surge / Aftermath (Hidden) | Soundproof / Grassy Surge / Aftermath (Hidden)
New Moves: Both: Rapid Spin, Terrain Pulse
Electrode: Boomburst, Tri Attack, Overheat
Electrode-Hisui: Strength Sap, Earth Power, Apple Acid
Removed Moves: None
Justification: Here's our real Electric Surge user and its cool sibling. I'm not gonna pretend it's easy redeeming Electrode when it has the stats that it has, but it's actually very well suited to be a Terrain setter, and there's justifications for all the cool new toys in its kit. First, Electric / Normal is a super small change, but a good one because it lets it come in on Ghost moves - the Fighting weakness isn't super relevant when most Fighting moves would murder it anyways. To make up for its pathetic Sp. Atk, it has a spammable STAB move in Boomburst - and trust me, Boomburst is justified. Its Japanese name is Sound Wave Explosion, and it fits its gameplay identity of using really powerful explosive Normal moves. Tri Attack is so that Boomburst isn't its only Normal STAB, and Overheat is a tech option so it can snipe some Steels and Grasses. But really, Boomburst is the key, giving Electrode an actual offensive presence. Still no Rising Voltage, just to be safe, but it does keep Volt Switch.

Electrode-Hisui isn't quite as cool, but Electric / Grass is still a neat typing, and it's a Volt Switcher that Grounds really want nothing to do with, hitting them with its Grass STAB and weakening their Earthquakes. Apple Acid is an upgrade over the Energy Ball it would otherwise be using, while retaining Leaf Storm or Chloroblast as nukes. Earth Power gives it a bit of coverage, particularly for Iron Moth and Heatran, while Strength Sap is the biggest addition, letting it debuff and heal with its incredible Speed all at once. It has a surprising amount of longevity for something so frail.

Lastly, the shared moves are largely tech; Rapid Spin is a gimme when the hazard removal meta is so dire and they're literally spheres, and Terrain Pulse feels obligatory for terrain setters.

Good Morning pet mod enjoyers

:sv/Wo-Chien:
Name: Wo-Chien
Type: Dark/Poison
Ability: Tablets of Ruin
New Moves: Poison Jab, Gunk Shot, Sludge Bomb, Jungle Healing, Acid Spray, Clear Smog, (maybe mortal spin...)
Removed Moves: Leech Seed, Substitute, Trail Blaze
My submission aims to help shore up Wo-Chien. It always felt odd that the Ruin legend that seemed so clearly to be defensively orientated of the 4 had such an abhorrent defensive typing as well as no reliable recovery, solely relying on leech seed/protect/substitute. I removed leech seed and added Jungle Healing to create not just a more consistent pivot, but one much more fun to play against.

:

:Wo-Chien:
Wo-Chien @ Black Sludge
Ability: Tablets of Ruin
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Def / 212 SpD
Careful Nature

Sassy Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Giga Drain
- Acid Spray
- Knock Off

:Wo-Chien:
Wo-Chien @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Tablets of Ruin
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature

Potential Pokemon with this move: :zarude:, :wo-chien:
Effect: User and Allies: Heals 1/3 max HP, status cured.
Justification: Just makes the move a little bit better, though not overbearing

Got some other stuff but right now its a WIP with old Resubs

Name: Bug Zapper
Effect: If the user gets hit by a Bug type move, burn the attacker. Bug immunity.
Permanent (Yes or No): No
Mold Breaker (Yes or No): Yes
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: :Rotom:, :Pachirisu: (Replaces run away), :Lokix:, :Raichu-Alola:, :Grumpig:(replaces own tempo), :Oinkologne:(replaces thick fat), :Jolteon:, :Delphox:.
Justification: Wild ability that can make various mons into U-turn punishers, punishing the move yet depending heavily on prediction. Also good on bug weaks. Given to mostly irrelevant mons.

Name: Sticky Hold | Iron Grip
Effect: This Pokémon cannot have its item removed by another Pokémon's attack and ability. Takes half damage from Knock Off. (Sticky Hold Clone)
Permanent (Yes or No): No
Mold Breaker (Yes or No): Yes
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: Same distribution + :Toxicroak: (replaces anticipation) | :Tinkaton: line (replaces Own Tempo), :Klefki:, :Passimian:, :Primeape: (replaces Defiant), :Lucario: (replaces Steadfast), :Sableye: (replaces Stall), :Honchcrow: (replaces insomnia), :Oranguru: (replaces Own Tempo
Justification: Sticky Hold buff + adding a flavourful clone to some mons that might appreciate it. Tinkaton and Klefki especially become really good covert cloak users to counter the hazard setting moves.
Name: Banettite | Abomasite | Cameruptite
Effect: Mega evolves Banette | Abomasnow | Camerupt
Can Be Knocked Off (Yes or No): No
Ignored by Klutz (Yes or No): No
Fling Power & Effect: None
Justification: This will sound incredibly wild but hear me out. We bring Megas back, on the condition that its only the really bad / unviable ones.
:ss/Glastrier:
Name: Glastrier
Type: Ice
Abilities: Chilling Neigh / Snow Warning
New Moves: High Horsepower, Recover
Removed Moves: None
Justification: Glastrier ended up in Pu while Spectrier got trapped in Ubers last gen. To redeem it a bit I like the idea of introducing Glastrier as a snow setter that doesn't rely on Chilling Reception to set up the weather, especially since with the snow changes, Glastrier gets a hefty buff to its defense making it a very powerful tank. Restrained by the Recovery pp nerf, its awful typing and fact that its still slow as shit. Also added Horsepower since 1.It already has stomping tantrum and would appreciate a stronger ground move and 2. its a fucking horse.

Potential Pokémon With This Move: :florges::vaporeon:, probably some other Water, Fairy, and Grass types too idk

Name: Anger Point

Permanent (Yes or No): No
Mold Breaker (Yes or No): No
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: Existing Distribution + :muk-Alola::zarude:, maybe a Flying type neutral to rocks too idk
Justification: With more means of Hazard setting & Hazard spam, I felt it appropriate to add some more ways to punish Hazard spam. Phrased it the way I did in case if Healing Stones wins this slate.

Name: Whetstone
Effect: When using a slicing move, consumes and boosts Attack stat by 1 stage.
Can Be Knocked Off (Yes or No): Yes
Ignored by Klutz (Yes or No): Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 30
Justification: Resub bc it got close to winning last slate. With the introduction of Slicing as a new flag for moves, I feel it’s only proper to introduce more ways for the move flag to interact with and influence battles. This seemed like a good start, and creates a physical version of Throat Spray. I imagine the main Pokémon who could be interested in running this would be Gallade & Kleavor, pairing the Whetstone with Agility & Sharpness (Veluza can also do this, but less viably and has alternative Attack/Speed boosting options in Filet Away).

Name: Hazardous Waste
Power: 50
Accuracy: 100
PP: 10 (16)
Category: Physical
Type: Poison
Effect: +50 BP for each layer of hazards on the user's side of the field.
Flags: None.
Potential Pokémon With This Move: Potential pool including all Poison-Type Pokemon and the future Paradox Pokemon, but especially these three: :muk: :muk-alola: :revavroom:
Justification: Especially with this most recent slate, there are a lot of tools for hazard-stacking teams to use. Now we have an opportunity to use that power against them. Currently the highest base power this move can reach is 400, but that is with all of the hazards currently (three layers of Spikes, two layers of Toxic Spikes, Stealth Rocks, Sticky Web; or 7 layers of hazards). However, most teams don't use all of these hazards, so this is likely only going to be capping at around 150-200 BP for most games. That is still stronger and more consistent than the other Physical Poison moves Poison Jab and Gunk Shot.

Additionally, unlike Rage Fist and Last Respects, this move is kept in check by three major factors:

1) This move would mostly be known by Poison types, who would by default neutralize Toxic Spikes on switch-in. As such, that would be reducing the base power of the move before they get to use it.
2) The opponent has tools to reduce your damage output with this move. Defog and Tidy Up can be used to remove your hazards, bringing you back to being a 50 BP move.
3) This move is a Poison-type move, and bulky Steel-types will always be useful, so most teams will have at least one Pokemon immune to the move. This makes it less spammable of an option. (Also Poison isn't that great of an offensive type in general, as it does not have the same dual-type synergy as something like Annihilape's Ghost/Fighting)

(Finally, this would synergize well with any future hazard submissions, such as Healing Rocks, allowing players to set up hazards on themselves to increase the power of this move).

Name: Dragon Rush / Play Rough / Iron Tail / High Horsepower / Aqua Tail / Icicle Crash
Power: 90
Accuracy: 95
PP: 10 (16)
Category: Physical
Type: Dragon / Fairy / Steel / Ground / Water / Ice
Effect: Single target. 20% chance to lower the target's Attack by one. / 20% chance to lower the target's Attack by one. / 20% chance to lower the target's Defense by one. / 20% chance to lower the target's Defense by one. / 20% chance to lower the target's Speed by one. / 20% chance to lower the target's Speed by one.
Priority: 0
Flags: Contact (all except Icicle Crash)
Potential Pokémon With Dragon Rush: All Dragon-type Pokemon, plus everyone in the Dragon Egg Group (adding :Goodra: :Gyarados: :Haxorus: :Seviper: etc.)
Potential Pokémon With Play Rough: Current selection plus some more physical attackers (:Arcanine-Hisui: :Brute Bonnet: :Flareon: :Leafeon: :Quaquaval: etc.)
Potential Pokémon With Iron Tail: Current selection plus Pokemon that had it in Gen 8 (:Dunsparce::Flareon::Gyarados::Landorus-Therian: :Lycanroc-Dusk: :Perrserker: etc.)
Potential Pokémon With High Horsepower: Current selection plus Pokemon that had it in Gen 8 (:Avalugg: :Rillaboom: etc.) plus maybe a few new Gen 9 additions (:Brute Bonnet: :Cetitan: :Iron Thorns: etc.)
Potential Pokémon With Aqua Tail: Current selection plus :Barraskewda: :Basculin: :Vaporeon: (and then maybe other Pokemon with big obvious tails)
Potential Pokémon With Icicle Crash: Current selection plus :Abomasnow: :Avalugg-Hisui: :Crabominable: , and some strong bulky physical attackers (:Arcanine-Hisui: :Goodra-Hisui:), anything that can cause a Rock Slide could probably make Icicle(s) Crash from the ceiling.

Justification: Combining the original two-in-one with another two-in-one (and then two more for good measure). Two 100/75 moves, two 90/90 moves, one 95/95 move, and one 85/90 move . Combining them together to give them all the same power, accuracy, and chance of a secondary effect. Aqua Tail may still be outclassed by Liquidation , but the +5 BP might be worth the -5 accuracy, especially with the chance to lower Speed. Dragon Rush and Icicle Crash no longer have a flinch chance, instead having a chance to lower an opponent's stat. High Horsepower joins the fray here, having a 5 point reduction to its base power in exchange for a secondary effect.
Name: Elemental Gem
Effect: The first move the holder uses of the gem's type does 1.2x damage. The item is consumed.
If the holder uses the move Tera Blast, Tera Blast becomes the type of the Gem, and becomes Physical if the holder's Attack is higher than their Special Attack.
Can Be Knocked Off: Y
Ignored by Klutz: Y
Fling Power & Effect: 50 BP, attack is treated as the type of the gem
Justification: The idea being this working as some combo of Terastylization Tera Blast + the Gen 5 elemental gems (but both nerfed slightly). A one-time coverage move that can give some Pokemon just a bit more damage, or a boost to one of your existing stronger moves. Yes I am aware that this allows Regieleki to have BoltBeam coverage, but it would only get a single use of "Ice Beam" in this context, so I think it is balanced.

Name: Four-Leaf Clover
Effect: Raises the Critical Hit rate of the user by one at the end of each turn. After successfully scoring a Critical Hit, returns critical hit rate back to zero.
Can Be Knocked Off: Y
Ignored by Klutz: Y
Fling Power & Effect: 20 BP, lowers crit rate by 1
Justification: Fun for anyone with Sniper, or anyone who just wants a bit of crit fun to break through walls. Most useful right now for the sad lizard, but I am sure other Pokemon can use it well.

Name: Honey
Effect: When this Pokemon's HP drops below 50%, restores 25% HP. The item is then consumed.
This item cannot be removed from the holder unless it is consumed. Any attempt to remove/steal this item lower's the attacker's Speed by one stage.
Can Be Knocked Off: N (attempting to Knock Off the item will lower the attacker's Speed by one stage).
Ignored by Klutz: Y
Fling Power & Effect: 20 BP, lowers target's Speed by 1 (can only by Tricked or Flung by a Pokemon with Klutz, or in Magic Room)
Justification: A Healing item with a natural Sticky Hold (+Gooey, sort of) effect. Figured it made sense thematically, picture Winnie the Pooh getting his hands sticky while eating out of a honeypot. Other than that, it is just a Sitrus Berry but better. As it is a consumable from nature, if this item could be considered as a "Berry" that would be cool (meaning it applies to existing moves/abilities, including Harvest and Belch).

(If this wins I will make a buff to Honey Gather in the next slate that allows a Pokemon holding no item randomly pick up Honey in battle)
Name: Aftermath
Effect: When this Pokemon faints, every other Pokemon on the field is hurt for 25% of their max HP. This damage ignores Substitute or Protect but moves with semi-invulnerability (Fly, Dig) can avoid this effect.
Ignored by Mold Breaker: No
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: Everyone who has it + :qwilfish::overqwil: :glimmora: :coalossal: :forretress: :revavroom:(mainly Pokemon that enjoy using Explosion)
Justification: Aftermath is a mediocre ability on the Pokemon that have it (see: Electrode). This new change adds a couple new flavours: 1) it is no longer triggered exclusively by contact moves, and 2) the Pokemon can trigger it itself by using an Explosion move (or other suicide moves, e.g. Chloroblast, Steel Beam). This means you get a bit more bang for your buck with a sacrificial play, even doing solid damage to bulky rock, steel, or ghost types who would normally not be afraid of Explosions.

Name: Disguise
Effect: When the Disguise is active, the first hit Mimikyu takes is blocked, taking 10% of its health as damage instead. When Mimikyu is healed by another Pokemon (Heal Pulse, Wish, etc.) the Disguise is restored.
Ignored by Mold Breaker: Yes
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: :Mimikyu:
Justification: A small buff to Mimikyu. Just something I have thought of in the past, namely that Mimikyu should be able to repair its disguise if it gets healed. Also it takes slightly less damage when the disguise breaks. Teams can work to give it back its Disguise through team synergy, thanks to Heal Pulse (also Life Dew, Jungle Healing, etc) in doubles, or Wish/Healing Wish/Lunar Dance in singles. This would also ensure that if it is revived via Revival Blessing that the Disguise would also be restored (which I do not know if this is the case or not).
:sv/Vespiquen:
Name: Vespiquen
Type: Bug/Dark
Abilities
: Cute Charm/Unnerve/Queenly Majesty
Added Moves
: Quiver Dance, Glare, Dark Pulse, False Surrender, Defog, Heal Order, Final Gambit, Sticky Web
Justification: Let's give the Queen Bee some love. QM is obviously fitting as an ability she should have, but obviously keeping her with the newly gifted Cute Charm. A good number of new moves in her toolkit to give her some nice utility, and the Evil Queen aesthetic gives her some fun flavour to use.

:sv/Delphox:
Name: Delphox
Type: Fire/Fairy
Abilities
: Blaze/Magician
Added Moves: Draining Kiss, Moonblast, Moonlight, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Charge Beam, Blizzard, Ice Beam, Icy Wind, Misty Terrain, Healing Wish
Removed Moves: Psychic Terrain
Justification: A well-deserved buff to the Fire Fox. Fairy instead of Psychic also makes sense as a magic-user, and gives it a unique typing. Finally, a bit of coverage that a spellcaster would want to have. Keeping Magician on it thanks to its new niche with Meteor Beam.

:sv/Salazzle:
Name: Salazzle
Type: Poison / Dragon
Abilities
: Corrosion / Shed Skin
Added Moves
: Draco Meteor, Dragon Breath, Dragon Rush, Dragon Tail, Outrage, Cross Poison, Sludge Wave, U-Turn
Justification: Did you know: there are only five fully evolved Pokemon in the Dragon egg group that are not Dragon type? Just tackling these two Poison types to give them a small buff to maybe be a bit more useful. Dragon/Poison with Fire coverage is already a very solid offensive presence.

Also, fun fact: did you know that Salazzle knows Fire Lash? It is currently the only Pokemon in the game to know this move. Do with that information what you will.

:sv/Seviper:
Name: Seviper
Type: Poison / Dragon
Abilities
: Shed Skin / Intimidate / Dragon's Maw
Added Moves
: Draco Meteor, Dragon Breath, Dragon Dance, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Rush, Dragon Tail, Outrage, Scale Shot, Cross Poison, Sludge Wave, Toxic, Toxic Spikes, Nasty Plot, Leech Life, U-Turn
Justification: Edited to separate Seviper into a new submission. Seviper may be slow and Frail, but it has the same attacking stats as Regidrago. As such, with Dragon's Maw it may have a fun little niche. Seviper is getting a lot of move here, mainly just to have the same expanded moveset as Salazzle above. Salazzle know a LOT of moves guys.

Name: Wo-Chien
Type:

Abilities: Tablets of Ruin | HA: Overcoat
New Moves
: Jungle Healing, Shelter, Apple Acid, Grav Apple, Synthesis, Stealth Rock, Comeuppance, Sludge Bomb
Justification: Anyone who plays UU understand how important it is for Wo-Chien to not have a good defensive typing. Also changing Wo-Chien's Grass Dark typing is so boring and has a lot of weird attributes to deal with if you do. So let's actually lean into Wo-Chien's sttrengths attributed to it's typing!
Between Grav Apple / Apple Acid, Knock Off and Leech Seed, Wo-Chien is actually annoying as hell to switch into. I granted it two different forms of recovery to use if it so chooses. Stealth Rock and Shelter both give it actual niches to be ran on teams outside of just taking hits, it also adds a hazard remover that beats Gholdengo and a SR user that beats most of the good Rapid Spinners. Comeuppance was just a funny Dark move with zero use this gen and probably Wo-Chien is one of the better users of the move. Sludge Bomb so you can smack a Fairy like Scream Tail. Overcoat as a cool hidden ability makes it so that, if you really want to, you can run Lefties + Boots on the same set wow!

:SV/Iron-Thorns:
Name: Iron Thorns

Abilities: Quark Drive | HA: Technician
New Moves
: Accelerock, Bullet Seed
Justification: First viable offensive Tera Shard user?!? Iron Thorn's most famous (even if not best) set is Loaded Dice Rock Blast. Why not take that and push it to it's highest echelon. At +1, Loaded Dice Rock Blast goes IN on anything that isn't a Sturdy resist, and Bullet Seed + Earthquake smacks the very few resists of the move. It has problems of course, Rock / Electric isn't the best of typings with a x4 weakness to Ground, even Loaded Dice Bullet Seed struggles against certain Water types like Dondozo, and it is susceptible to priority moves like Mach Punch, Jet Punch and Bullet Punch.

:SV/Weavile:
Name: Weavile
Type:

Abilities: Pressure / Pickpocket | HA: Snow Cloak
New Moves: Lash Out, Throat Chop, Triple Axel, Cross Chop, Sucker Punch
Justification: Weavile got robbed of all of it's best moves, and they made it worse by adding two hard counters slate 1 in addition to it's many checks already roaming in OU. But no more. Make Weavile Great Again! I gave it it's treasured wallbreaking tool in Triple Axel to punch big holes in teams. Gave it access to old Dark STABs it lost in Lash Out and Throat Chop. But most importantly I gave it Cross Chop and Sucker Punch, two tools it never had in standard OU, but with the lack of Knock Off and presense of multiple new checks it should balance out. Cross Chop is Fighting typed Stone Edge, and should help beat Toxapex and Kingambit, and Sucker Punch adds a lot more depth to Swords Dance and choiced sets as a brand new form of speed control.

Justification: It's Steel type Fire Lash. But it's also Steel type Arm Thrust. Funny how that works out. Anyway, this is a cool alternative to Iron Head that Steel types can use to mess around with stuff and force progress. I have Scizor listed here but this genuinely might go either way depending on how badly we want Scizor to get super Steel Fire Lash.

Justification: A lot of Dark types were robbed of a good STAB move this gen. Instead of giving everything Knock Off, let's buff a move that was by in large a shitstorm of a move last gen. 80 BP and 10 more PP is an objective buff for sure, but now the kicker here is that it's effect does not have to trigger on the same turn the move is used, turning it into a real singles Intimidate punisher.

Ignored by Mold Breaker: No
Potential Pokémon With This Ability:
:Fletchling:line:swablu:line:tropius::rotom-fan::Articuno::squawkabilly:crew
Justification: Gale Wings was nerfed into the GROUND, arguably very unfairly so, so much so that Talonflame no longer sees use and it is effectively abandoned. No longer! I gave Gale Wings a decent buff, a compromise between it's former glory and it's current languish. I have also decided to expand the list of Gale Wings abusers, giving alot more Pokémon who in theory should be able to generate gale force winds with their wings. Also Squawk and Swablu because they are cute, and could use a fresh lease on life.

Name: Battle Bond
Effect: If this Pokemon is a Greninja, its Attack, Special Attack, and Speed are raised by 1 stage and if it attacks and knocks out another Pokemon. This effect can only happen once per switch in. Water Shuriken is boosted in damage by 33%.
Ignored by Mold Breaker: No
Potential Pokémon With This Ability:
:Greninja:
Justification: Battle Bond was also gutted between Gen 8 and 9, so this retooling of the ability will hopefully make Greninja more worthwhile on offensive teams.

Name: Wings of Icarus
Effect: Boosts speed by 1.2x and gives an immunity to entry hazards. If the holder takes damage, item breaks.
Can Be Knocked Off (Yes or No): I guess
Ignored by Klutz (Yes or No): No
Fling Power & Effect: 20 damage, clears hazards on both sides
Justification: New speed boosting item, psudeo-heavy duty boots, and hazard removal through Fling. The speed buff might need to be altered to be balanced. Now only has usability with unburden mons by switching in to hazards and becoming fast.

Name: Soap Bar
Effect: Remove all hazards on switch in, gets used up. If knocked off or lost before hazards can be removed, boosts user speed by one stage, gets used up.
Can Be Knocked Off (Yes or No): Yes
Ignored by Klutz (Yes or No): No
Fling Power & Effect: 80 damage, deals super effective damage to poison types.
Justification: we love hazard removal. The speed boost is funny too, could be very dangerous with unburden mons. The fling effect is not that important, but would be really funny.

Name: All-Consuming Playdoh
Effect: Upon switch in, absorb all hazards on your side. For each hazard absorbed, boost this item’s level by 1. When opponent makes contact with the holder, they take damage equal to X/12 of their max hp ( X being the level of the item ). Only absorbs hazards once, then stops absorbing.
Can Be Knocked Off (Yes or No): Yes
Ignored by Klutz (Yes or No): No
Fling Power & Effect: 40 damage + 20X damage ( X being the level of the item ).
Justification: overly complicated, but interesting new hazard removal. It only works once, then becomes a better rocky helmet.

Name: Heart of Gold :luvdisc:
Effect: If held by Luvdisc, multiply SpAtk, SpDef, and Spe by 2.5x, blocks all status moves and additional effects of attacks. If not held by Luvdisc, block the first status move used by an opponent per switch in.
Can Be Knocked Off (Yes or No): No if Luvdisc, yes if other
Ignored by Klutz (Yes or No): No
Fling Power & Effect: 20 damage, taunts opponent.
Justification: This pokemon keeps existing, but for no purpose. Let’s give it one ( or three ). Massive SpDef and Spe are very nice, and the base 100 SpAtk isn’t bad either. The immunity to basically everything that isn’t direct damage is extremely helpful. If only Luvdisc had any semblance of a good moveset, then we could have a ban worthy threat. Oh well.

Name: Serotinous Cones :forretress:
Effect: When hit by a fire type move, apply leech seed to opponent. Fire immunity
Permanent (Yes or No): Yes
Mold Breaker (Yes or No): No
Potential Pokémon With This Ability: Decidueye-Hisui, Chesnaught, Forretress, Wo-Chien, Arboliva, Tropius
Justification: Cool ability for some lesser used grass types. Most useful on Forretress, who now has no weaknesses, and Wo-Chien, who gains more opportunities for passive healing.

Potential Pokémon With This Move: Thundurus, Iron Hands, Pawmot, Toxtricity (Both), Eelektross, Ampharos, Hariyama, other Pokémon that look like they could clap (but thunderously)
Justification: Interesting new electric attack, being unique in that it is the only physical sound move.

Name: Overclock :revavroom:

Potential Pokémon With This Move: Iron Treads, Magneton, Magnezone, Revavroom, maybe some other paradox mons or mechanical mons. Would have to be pretty limited distribution.
Justification: crazy speed boosting move, but cuts attack in half and puts the user on a timer. Especially dangerous with any special attacker. Fire Revavroom would probably be pretty interesting.

Name: Starfall :delphox:
Power: 120
Accuracy: 100
PP: 5
Category: Special

Justification: Flying press is a really cool move, and there should be more moves like it. This is fire fairy because of the fairy typing have lots of spacial connections (Moonblast, Moonlight, Max Starfall) and fire because stars are hot (citation needed). Lots of mystical lookin mons could get this move.

Type: Same
Abilities: Levitate (All) Infiltrator | Storm Drain | Flame Body | Intimidate | Wind Power | Refrigerate
New Moves: Defog (All) Bitter Malice | Chilling Water | Heat Wave | Giga Drain | Bleakwind Storm | Ice Beam
Justification: While Rotom-Wash has always been very solid, the others have dropped to lower tiers, so I buffed them more significantly. They lost Defog this gen, so I gave it back. They also get interesting new abilities and moves, just to give them more options.

:wugtrio:
Type: Water/Dragon
Abilities: Gooey/Technician/Multiscale
New Moves
: Dragon Dance, Dragon Claw, Dragon Tail, Dragon Hammer, Dual Chop, Scale Shot, Wave Crash, Surging Strikes, Earthquake, Ice Spinner, Rapid Spin, Draco Meteor, Recover, Extreme Speed
Removed Moves: Why should I?
Justification: Wugtrio is horrifically worthless not great in base OU, it’s also not great in ZU to be honest. But it’s such a funny lookin dude that it deserves something. The idea behind this was a Dragonite at home, with multiscale ddance espeed. The big difference between them is the Wug has higher speed but lower attack, giving it a different niche. Also, Surging Strikes is basically Triple Dive but better, so a better Wug should have it.

more to come, theoretically

:blunder policy:
Name: Blunder Policy
Effect: Holder's Speed and Accuracy are raised by 2 when they miss an attack. One-time use.
Can be Knocked Off: Yes
Ignored by Klutz: Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 80
Justification: Cool item concept that sadly never sees competitive use. Making it so that Blunder Policy raises Accuracy on top of Speed will make this a good choice for Hustle mons or those that commonly run inaccurate moves like Stone Edge and Focus Blast.

Name: Speed Orb
Effect: Holder's Speed is x1.3, but they lose 1/10 of their max HP after using an attack.
Can be Knocked Off: Yes
Ignored by Klutz: Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 30
Justification: Why yes I do watch freezai, how could you tell?

Name: Duster
Effect: Holder is immune to Bug-type moves and Sticky Web. Removes Sticky Web from its field while switched in.
Can be Knocked Off: Yes
Ignored by Klutz: Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 10, removes target's stat changes
Justification: Fuck Electroweb, all my homies hate Electroweb. You can also use it to block U-turn pivoting, I guess

Name: Tie-Dye Band
Effect: Holder's offensive stats are boosted by 1.5x, but cannot select moves of their type.
Can be Knocked Off: Yes
Ignored by Klutz: Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 30
Justification: Give all your attacks STAB, but you can't use your actual STABs :bat: I have NO idea how this would/should work with Protean tho
edit 1: Changed Blunder Policy from giving +1 Def and SpDef back to +2 Spe

Name: Aerilate | Pixilate | Refrigerate | Galvanize
Effect: User's Normal-type moves become [Flying | Fairy | Ice | Electric]-type and have their power boosted by x1.2 (unchanged)
Permanent: No
Mold Breaker: No
Potential New Pokemon with this Ability:
(A) -:staraptor::salamence: (P) -:gardevoir: (R) -:glalie::avalugg:(G) -:electrode::kilowattrel:
Justification: Free the -ates! Putting this under one sub because it's just redistribution for similar abilities.

Name: Hydration | Leaf Guard
Effect: User is immune to/cured of non-volatile status conditions while Rain | Harsh sunlight is active, or when hit by a Water | Grass-type move.
Permanent: No
Mold Breaker: No
Potential Pokemon with this Ability:
Current distribution + :dondozo: replaces Oblivious :wugtrio: replaces Gooey :bellibolt:replaces Damp | :arboliva: :flapple: :appletun:replaces Gluttony :florges:
Justification: Small buff to a super niche ability, allowing it to act as a psuedo-Natural Cure with correct prediction. Although it doesn't grant immunity to water/grass moves, most mons with Hydration or Leaf Guard already resist the respective types, so it's not a big drawback. More importantly though, it means that statuses that target the user, like Aqua Ring or Synthesis, will additionally cure status, making them must-have tools for defensive Hydration/Leaf Guard mons.

Name: Moody
Effect: Raises a random stat (besides Accuracy and Evasion) of the user by 1 at the end of the turn, which changes each consecutive turn.
Permanent: No
Mold Breaker: No
Potential Pokemon with this Ability: Current Distribution + :camerupt:
replaces Magma Armor :noivern:replaces Telepathy
Justification: What's this? A Moody rework that doesn't just make it take longer to set up? Basically instead of spamming subs and fishing for the right boosts, Moody mons are now about taking advantage of whatever luck throws at you. Coincidentally enough, all of the current SV mons with Moody are mixed attackers who will get some advantage no matter what stat is boosted. Nerfed the stat raise to +1 because I felt that a free +2 reliant on luck is too swingy.

Name: Glaceon
Abilities: Slush Rush, Filter
Added Moves: Chilly Reception, Moonblast, Psychic
Justification: Slush Rush + Blizzard off of a base 130 Sp. Attack makes this the premier snow sweeper, who can keep the momentum going with its respectable bulk + pivoting via Chilly Reception. Glaceon gang rise up!!!

Name: Klawf
Abilities: Shell Armor, Compound Eyes, Regenerator
Added Moves: Accelerock, Earthquake, Flip Turn, Hammer Arm, Iron Head, Shell Smash
Justification: Can now be a REAL shell smasher, with additional access to stab priority and Compound Eyes to guarantee that Stone Edge hits. Can otherwise be an offensive regen pivot, with knock, stealth rock, and flip turn

others tbd
