AquaticPanic goated
iron bundle 2
DNA Donors: Delibird / Miraidon
Fusion Name: Deliraidon
New Types:

Base Stats: 72 / 85 / 72 / 100 / 80 / 110 [BST: 515] (+0 HP / +15 Atk / +0 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +5 Spe)
New Ability: Iron Sights = (Hustle + Hadron Engine)
Ability Description: This Pokemon's Attack, Special Attack, and accuracy is x1.33.
Notable Moves:
Brave Bird, Rapid Spin, U-turn
Blizzard, Draco Meteor, Electro Drift, Overheat, Thunder (Air Slash, Freeze-Dry)
Calm Mind, Defog, Spikes
Intended Role: Special Wallbreaker, Offensive Pivot, Hazard Setter
Role Justification: Weird funny ""mixed"" mon. Kinda plays like Noivern in low tiers except more power and less longevity. You're probably better off running special but you get extra chip with U-turn and Rapid Spin so that's pretty cool.

:swsh/calyrex-shadow::swsh/gurdurr:
gurlyrex-shadow.png
this one is mine, but aqua still helped
DNA Donors: Calyrex-Shadow / Gurdurr
Fusion Name: Gurlyrex-Shadow
New Types:

Base Stats: 95 / 100 / 85 / 105 / 75 / 95 [BST: 555] (+3 HP / +5 Atk / +3 Def / +3 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Bold One (Spectrier) = (As One (Spectrier) + Guts)
Ability Description: Unnerve effects. If this Pokemon is statused, its Attack and Special Attack is 1.5x; ignores burn halving physical damage.
Notable Moves:
Close Combat, Drain Punch, Facade, Knock Off
Astral Barrage, Focus Blast, Psychic
Bulk Up, Nasty Plot, Trick
Intended Role: Mixed Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Wanted to make something that uses Astral Barrage as coverage. This uses it because it hits Drampiculus pretty hard with it. Besides that, yeah. Guts that boost both stats. GLHF.

:swsh/gengar::swsh/cryogonal:

Very cool Offensive Ice/Poison!
DNA Donors: Gengar / Cryogonal
Fusion Name: Crygargonal
New Types:

Base Stats: 80 / 57 / 55 / 122 / 105 / 107 [BST: 526] (+10 HP / +0 Atk / +0 Def / +10 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Rising Tensions = (Cursed Body + Levitate)
Ability Description: Effect of both abilities
Notable Moves:

Energy Ball, Sludge Wave, Focus Blast, Shadow Ball, Psychic, Freeze Dry, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Chilling Water
Will-o-Wisp, Taunt, Encore, Haze, Nasty Plot, Recover, Rapid Spin, Defog
Intended Role: Special Sweeper, Special Wallbreaker, Hazard Removal
Role Justification: I think a fast Ice and Poison type would be great in a metagame where, offensive threats such as Sol-Valiant, Arbolosion, and Brambleswine are relevant. Very unique offensive and defensive properites.

:swsh/masquerain::swsh/regidrago:

The Sticky Web User with Sweeping Potential?
DNA Donors: Masquerain / Regidrago
Fusion Name: Masquerago
New Types:

Base Stats: 135 / 80 / 56 / 100 / 66 / 80 [BST: 517] (+0 HP / +0 Atk / +0 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Dragon's Glare = (Intimidate + Dragon's Maw)
Ability Description: Combined effect of both the abilities.
Notable Moves:
U-Turn
Bug Buzz, Hydro Pump, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Energy, Earth Power,
Quiver Dance, Sticky Webs, Defog, Roost
Intended Role: Sticky Webs Setter, Special Sweeper
Role Justification: I think having a Sticky Webs supporter would be really cool, and having a reliable one with solid bulk, Intimidate, and an interesting typing would be awesome! We currently lack a somewhat offensive Bug Type, and this would do the trick!

Hope yall enjoy my first ever submissions :)

New Ability: Burning Light = (Pixilate + Flame Body)
Ability Description: Combined effect of both the abilities.
Notable Moves:

Intended Role: Slow Breaker
Role Justification: Slow breaker

Here i got some crazy gooners

:swsh/ting-lu::swsh/sableye:
DNA Donors: Ting-Lu / Sableye
Fusion Name: Tin-Eye
New Types:

Base Stats: 106 / 94 / 102 / 60 / 81 / 47 [BST: 490] (+4 HP / +2 Atk / +2 Def / +0 SpA / +9 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: God Of Mischief = (Vessel of Ruin + Prankster)
Ability Description: Combined Effects of Both Abilities.
Notable Moves:
Body Press,Earthquake,Heavy Slam,Stone Edge,Throat Chop,Drain Punch,Fake Out,Foul Play,Knock Off,Poison Jab,Poltergeist,Sucker Punch.
Ruination
Protect,Spikes,Stealth Rocks,Taunt,Whirlwind,Bulk Up,Encore,Light Screen,Recover,Reflect,Thunder Wave,Toxic,Will-o-Wisp.
Intended Role:
Wall
Hazard Setter
Role Justification: Tin-Eye is just an incredible Wall that can just spread status with Will-o-Wisp,Toxic and Thunder Wave,set up hazards with Spikes n' Stealth Rocks and can even set up Screens, this and all it can do this while also having priority on all of them and is even immune to status effects himself, so he isnt affected by the priority increase of the opposing mon. Its good enough bulk also means it can just sit there, while also having things to help its longevity, in things like Recover and Screens. All of this things, i believe, can make Tin-Eye a monster wall.

:swsh/iron-bundle::swsh/empoleon:
DNA Donors: Iron Bundle / Empoleon
Fusion Name: Iron Leon
New Types:

Base Stats: 70 / 86 / 110 / 120 / 80 / 102 [BST: 568] (+0 HP / +3 Atk / +9 Def / +3 SpA / +0 SpD / +4 Spe)
New Ability: Retribution = (Quark Drive + Defiant)
Ability Description: If a stat is lowered by an opposing pokemon or is holding the Booster Energy Item, it raises its highest stat by 2 stages.
Notable Moves:
Knock Off,Flip Turn,U-Turn.
Blizzard,Flash Cannon,Grass Knot,Hydro Pump,Ice Beam,Scald,Freeze Dry.
Defog,Stealth Rock,Yawn,Encore,Taunt.
Intended Role:
- Special Attacker
- Offensive Pivot
- Choice Item
Role Justification: With access to moves like Hydro Pump, it can hit Ground and Fire types that would give it trouble, while also having access to a very strong freeze-dry, plus has access to pivot moves in Flip Turn and U Turn. You'd probably run a set with Flash Cannon,Freeze-Dry,Hydro Pump and filler. Other things you could run are Choice items like Specs making it a very scary mon to switch into. Overall, with its ability,great movepool and amazing stats, Iron Leon can be a deadly sweeper in the new meta.

:swsh/ho-oh::swsh/spidops:
DNA Donors: Ho-Oh / Spidops
Fusion Name: Ho-Ops
New Types:

Base Stats: 84 / 111 / 103 / 81 / 120 / 62 [BST: 560] (+1 HP / +7 Atk / +12 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Camper = (Regenerator + Stakeout)
Ability Description: Combined effect of both the abilities.
Notable Moves:
Circle Throw,First Impression,Leech Life,Poison Jab,Sucker Punch,Trailblaze,U-Turn,Earthquake,Flare Blitz,Iron Head,Sacred Fire.
No
Curse,Silk Trap,Spikes,Sticky Web,Taunt,Toxic Spikes,Defog,Recover,Tailwind,Thunder Wave,Will-o-Wisp.
Intended Role:
- Defensive Pivot
- Hazard Setter
- Bulky Offence
Role Justification: This mon has access to amazing defensive tools, in things like Silk Trap,Circle Throw,Recover,Defog,Will-o-Wisp and Spikes, this options let it capitalize of its great overall bulk, so it can be a very strong wall. This is boosted by its ability Camper, which lets it switch out in a unwanted matchup, plus if a mon tries to switch out, it can punish whatever is trying to switch in. Its typing is rather awkward, as it has many resistences but its 4x weak to Rocks, meaning you either have to run Heavy-Duty Boots or a dedicated spinner,but Ho-Ops does have ways to threaten Rocks trying to switch in with things like EQ or it can use U-Turn to get out safely and heal up. Overall, Ho-Ops has great tools for defensive play and can be a very very threatening Pokemon.

:swsh/greninja::iron-treads:
DNA Donors: Greninja / Iron Treads
Fusion Name: Iron Ninja
New Types:

Base Stats: 81 / 105 / 93 / 105 / 70 / 114 [BST: 569] (+0 HP / +2 Atk / +0 Def / +18 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: 9th Symphony = (Torrent + Quark Drive)
Ability Description: When at 1/3 of HP, the users highest stat is multiplied by 1.5.
Notable Moves:
Acrobatics,Gunk Shot,Ice Punch,Liquidation,U-Turn,Earthquake,Ice Spinner,Iron Head,Knock Off,Rapid Spin.
Hydro Pump,Ice Beam,Surf,Earth Power,Flash Cannon,Volt Switch.
Spikes,Switcheroo,Swords Dance,Taunt,Toxic Spikes,Iron Defence,Stealth Rocks.
Intended Role: Lead
- Utility
- Mixed Attacker
- Offensive Pivot
- Choice Item
- Swords Dance
Role Justification: With great stats,amazing typing and down right insane coverage n' moves, Iron Ninja is a force to be reckoned with. Iron Ninja has a combination of Rapid Spin and Knock Off, 2 very powerfull options, while also having other great options like Hazards to work as a Lead,Volt Switch n U-Turn to function as a pivot,Swords Dance to help with its amazing physical movepool and Switcheroo, so it can run Choice Items safely. Its offensive stats are good enough for a mixed set to be possible, its amazing movepool helps it in this regard aswell, with things like Gunk Shot or Ice Beam to hit Grass types or things like Taunt n' Knock Off for utility. All of this things put togheter really make Iron Ninja a very threatining Pokemon.

Submissions are now closed. First, let's go over submissions that wouldn't be voted but would be slightly altered by Council if they were to win.

:swsh/tapu bulu::swsh/roserade:
Fusion Name: Tapu Loke
This name doesn't really make sense given its components. If this were to win we would rename this fusion.

:swsh/orbeetle::swsh/necrozma-dawn-wings:
Fusion Name: Orb-Velvet-Shell

:swsh/orbeetle::swsh/necrozma-ultra:
Fusion Name: Ultra Orbeetle
Similar case here. You can't change a form's name (So I'd be -Dawn-Wings instead of -Velvet-Shell); and due to how forms work, being the same "species", you can't go from "Orb-Velvet-Shell" to "Orbeetle-Ultra" as that would end up counting them as separate species (You also would not be allowed to name it Orbeetle-Ultra as the base species name would still be just Orbeetle and not really a mix of the two names). Moreover, "Orb" is too simplistic of a name and doesn't really incorporate Necrozma's name into it.

You don't really have to worry about any of this, the submission is still legas, but it's name would be changed if it were to win. Mainly writing this to help give you a sense of how the naming scheme usually works.

:swsh/tauros-paldea-aqua::swsh/tornadus-therian:
New Types:

Base Stats: 84 / 111 / 93 / 70 / 82 / 110 [BST: 550] (+7 HP / +6 Atk / +1 Def / +0 SpA / +2 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Relentless = (Intimidate + Regenerator)
Ability Description: Combined effects
Raging Bull would not be Flying-Type but rather Water-Type. It changes according to the Tauros form, not the user's type.

:swsh/raboot::swsh/eternatus:
New Types:

Base Stats: 102 / 85 / 77 / 100 / 77 / 112 [BST: 553] (+0 HP / +0 Atk / +0 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Free Pressurizer = (Libero + Pressure)
Ability Description: If the user gets attacked on the turn the user changes type, the opponent loses 2PP instead of one
Given the Role Justification, believe this is also meant to have Libero effects? If that's the case, please note that on its ability description.

Now onto actual disqualifications

:swsh/necrozma::swsh/cacturne:

New Types:

Base Stats: 83 / 111 / 80 / 121 / 74 / 81 [BST: 550] (+0 HP / +0 Atk / +0 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +14 Spe)
New Ability: Antimatter = (Prism Armor + Water Absorb)
Ability Description: This Pokémon takes no damage from super effective attacks, heal 1/4 hp if hit by super effective attack
Despite its low amount of weaknesses, the ability is still an issue as it facilitates set-up a bit much on this Pokémon. We'll ask you to give it a different ability.

:swsh/scrafty::sv/brute bonnet:
New Types:

Base Stats: 103 / 111 / 107 / 63 / 107 / 57 [BST: 548] (+15 HP / +3 Atk / +0 Def / +1 SpA / +0 SpD / +1 Spe)
New Ability: Drought = (Intimidate + Protosynthesis)
Ability Description: On switch in, sets up the Sun
Getting Drought out of Intimidate + Protosynthesis doesn't really make sense as neither ability sets up a field effect. We'll ask you to give it a different ability.

:swsh/marshadow::swsh/cinccino:
New Types:

Base Stats: 92 / 115 / 70 / 77 / 80 / 120 [BST: 554] (+10 HP / +5 Atk / +0 Def / +0 SpA / +5 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Technical Skill = (Technician + Skill Link)
Ability Description: Combined Effects of Both Abilities
The combination of Technician and Skill Link is very problematic on a Pokémon like this as it gives it multiple moves with effectively 187 BP, incluiding STAB in Tail Slap. On top of that it has a fantastic offensive type combo in Ghost/Normal, alongside great offensive stats. I don't think this one is very salvageable.

:swsh/regigigas::swsh/escavalier:
New Types:

Base Stats: 110 / 147 / 107 / 70 / 107 / 60 [BST: 601] (+20 HP / +0 Atk / +0 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Hypertrophy = (Slow Start + Swarm)
Ability Description: Swarm + For the first two turns, this Pokemon's speed is halved. After that, their speed is doubled instead.
This one's ability doesn't really make much sensegiven its components, as it uses 2 turns instead of 5 and neither ability double a stat. We'll ask you to give it a different ability.

:swsh/ninetales::swsh/reuniclus:
New Types:

Base Stats: 111 / 70 / 75 / 103 / 92 / 65 [BST: 516] (+20 HP / +0 Atk / +0 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Pyromancy = (Drought + Magic Guard)
Ability Description: Drought + Magic Guard
This one is simply a bit too optimized given the current ability combo. We'll ask you to replace either ability (Do not replace Magic Guard with Regen though).

:swsh/deoxys-speed::swsh/toxicroak:
New Types:

Base Stats: 86 / 100 / 77 / 90 / 77 / 132 [BST: 562] (+20 HP / +0 Atk / +0 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Cloudburst = (Pressure + Dry Skin)
Ability Description: If this Pokemon is the target of an opposing Pokemon's move, that move loses one additional PP and this Pokemon restores 1/8th of its maximum HP.
This one's ability is fairly problematic given its Speed. Its able to cycle between SubTect and make for a very unhealthy way of PP Stalling. We'll ask you to give it a different ability.

:swsh/pelipper::swsh/raikou:
New Types:

Base Stats: 75 / 67 / 90 / 110 / 85 / 90 [BST: 517] (+0 HP / +0 Atk / +3 Def / +5 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Drizzling Pressure = (Drizzle + Pressure)
Ability Description: Drizzle + Pressure
Drizzle is pretty insane on this mon. Thunder + Hydro + Hurricane is great offensive coverage and despite 110 not being too outstanding of a Sp Atk stat,drizzle pushes this mon over the edge. We'll ask you to give it a different ability.

:swsh/gastrodon::swsh/landorus-therian:
New Types:

Base Stats: 100 / 115 / 80 / 100 / 85 / 75 [BST: 555] (+0 HP / +1 Atk / +1 Def / +2 SpA / +4 SpD / +10 Spe)
New Ability: Drain Intimidate = (Storm Drain + Intimidate)
Ability Description: On switch-in, this Pokemon lowers the Special Attack of opponents by one stage.
This one is simply too bulky for its toolkit. I'm not sure if there's much that can be done to salvage it. (Also, not that it'd be vetoed for this but it overlaps with Garpyuk quite a bit as a fat Water/Ground)

:swsh/gallade::swsh/magearna:
New Types:

Base Stats: 75 / 110 / 90 / 110 / 115 / 75 [BST: 575] (+1 HP / +0 Atk / +0 Def / +13 SpA / +0 SpD / +3 Spe)
New Ability: Sharpened Soul = (Sharpness + Soul-Heart)
Ability Description: Combined effects
This one goes a bit crazy with Stored Power given it can very easly boost its stats in multiple manners, making Shift Gear CM sets an issue. Replace Psychic with Fghting and its good to go.

:swsh/florges::swsh/mantine:
New Types:

Base Stats: 81 / 52 / 69 / 96 / 150 / 72 [BST: 520] (+0 HP / +0 Atk / +0 Def / +0 SpA / +3 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Sap Sipper = (Flower Veil + Water Absorb)
Ability Description: Sap Sipper.
Neither ability used for this combo relates to Attack boosts, so getting Sap Sipper out of it doesn't really check out.That aside, 81/150 on a Water/Fairy with reliable recovery is way too bulky. Idt this one can be fixed.

:swsh/zeraora::swsh/ribombee:
New Types:

Base Stats: 74 / 103 / 67 / 98 / 75 / 133 [BST: 550] (+0 HP / +20 Atk / +0 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Variable Cleaner = (Volt Absorb + Shield Dust)
Ability Description: Effects of Shield Dust + when Shield Dust would otherwise activate, this Pokémon instead heals
This one goes a bit too crazy with QD given its stats and offensive type. Would be fine as a Bug.

:swsh/ting-lu::swsh/sableye:
New Types:

Base Stats: 106 / 94 / 102 / 60 / 81 / 47 [BST: 490] (+4 HP / +2 Atk / +2 Def / +0 SpA / +9 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: God Of Mischief = (Vessel of Ruin + Prankster)
Ability Description: All active Pokemon in the field, have their status moves priority increased by 1. Dark types are immune to status moves while Tin-Eye is on the field.
As is right now, this would be immune to any Status moves, which would be too much for its stats. We'll ask you to just make this ability be the combined effects of both abilities.

That will be all for now. You have 24 Hours to fix these submissions.

Up next, we will not be moving right away to Slate 6. As many of you may know, Fusion Evolution SV is one of the metas that will be played in the upcoming Pet Mods Premiere League. As such, we would like to pause the metagame for a bit so we may do balance changes accordingly and leave the meta in its best state possible heading into PMPL. With that settled, it's time to discuss the winners!

:iron hands::tornadus-therian: - wanted buzzshao to win but this is kind of the same thing, minus a uturn stab and not as great offenses but better bulk. seems good regardless

:delibird::miraidon: - not v impressed, flying doesnt add much to the mon so it has to cope w hdb or rocks weakness. its another offensive spinner ig

:starmie::tangrowth: - great stuff. adds a solid ass check to pyuk and bramble.

:floatzel::zeraora: - this mon is a bit concerning as like no mons theoretically wall it rn, at least it doesnt have much offense but dual stabs hit basically everything when paired with ice spinner

:cryogonal::gengar: - want to like it but the def is probably a bit too lacking to switch into bramble. might need ghost in the long run

:wo-chien::flapple: - mon looks mid as hell, no synthesis lookin ass

:ampharos::salamence: - intim zapdos! no defog hurts
:ampharos::salamence-mega: - i do love my aerilate guys, even has elec stab to hit meta but is walled by base
:ampharos-mega::salamence: - veery strong, dual stab vswitch roost looks difficult to switch into

zyg loses again by 1 vote, tragic

:iron hands::tornadus-therian: - As a Drampiclus fanatic I find this to be quite a fun addition since it forms a monster regen core with it. Outside of that it is just a very bulky mon with great pivoting options.

:delibird::miraidon: - Doesn't seem like much but this thing can be threating, even if limited by its item choice. Heavy duty boots can be ok but the real potential I am seeing with this thing comes with its absurd coverage which is not only boosted by its ability but also makes many of the options reliable, like Draco, Overheat, Blizzard, Freeze Dry, Thunder and Electro Drift, which could be nice on specs and scarf sets. Excited to see what people cook with this thing.

:starmie::tangrowth: - Another extreme regen pivot, one that can make regen cores become even more toxic. Nicely checks stuff like Bramble or Garp.

:floatzel::zeraora: - Very powerful offensive option that gives us an actually fast electric pivot (sorry toedscruel) that can dance around its checks or straight up muscle through them. Kinda heavily scared of this since Garp is the only mon that doesn't care too much about its stabs or its coverage but our regen cores should play around it pretty well.

:cryogonal::gengar: - A bit too frail but it has the benefit of doing a decent job at breaking up regen cores, nasty plot up and can maybe try to sweep. Scarf may work too I think.

:wo-chien::flapple: - This mon got heavily lucked out of viablity in the slate its being introduced. Nearly every single mon in this slate not only beats it but has a way to completely bypass it. I guess it might have an obscure role people aren't seeing right now, but for now im fairly unoptimistic about its chances.

:ampharos::salamence: - Intimidate zapdos is kinda nice. I love mons with multiple megas.
:ampharos::salamence-mega: - Ddance set is quite powerful, can be chipped if it drops eq and can be handled decently well if its a double edge roost set.
:ampharos-mega::salamence: - Fabio but with better stats, Draco Meteor and the coverage of a pseudolegendary dragon?! Solved Meta fr.

:iron hands::tornadus-therian: - Very good, maybe too good for it's own liking. Booster Energy Acrobatics seems like a really menacing pokemon to fight against; it has the bulk to dance up with ease, the power to smash through lots of stuff, and could even be used after. Increasing our reliance on Iron Dirge is not very fun. Also forms some annoying regen cores, not mention defogging and stuff. Dang

:delibird::miraidon: - Getting a buff to all those stats but then not having stab hurricane, thunder or blizzard is really annoying. It's effective special attack is really high though (149!) so it'll go hard.

:starmie::tangrowth: - Grass type that resists ground? Impossible. A defensive brambleswine check, we stay winning. I like it

:floatzel::zeraora: - Didn't vote for this but knew it win, it goes too hard for my tastes. With Ice Spinner it becomes almost unwallable while outspeeding everything and pivoting on anything trying to fight back.

:cryogonal::gengar: - p good, might need a buff

:wo-chien::flapple: - I've been doomsaying this mon for a while in the discord but it looks pretty bad. Grass/Dragon is a bad defensive typing and when coupled with no recovery it makes for a serious struggle. It loses against so much of the metagame (yeah most of them are special attackers but those are hot shit right now and you're not great versus most physical attackers anyways) while being blanked by any opposing grass and checking very few mons.

:ampharos::salamence: - neat, "fuck physical attackers" zapdos
:ampharos::salamence-mega: - 144 bp stab rizz, neat
:ampharos-mega::salamence: - We really should've gotten some specially defensive Pokemon slated good lord

:iron hands::tornadus-therian: - Torn-T 2, a bit boring, but it gets the job done, Belly Drum sets could probably abuse Regen to blow holes on teams long term, although that'd require Iron Dirge being deleted first.

:delibird::miraidon: - Blatant offensive pivot, the lack of speed hurts, but also keeps it in check, depending on how well its innate STABs do in the meta.

:starmie::tangrowth: - Grass/Water is a potent typing on paper as it has uncommon weaknesses and even hits a good portion of the meta well, but it also lacks resists. Besides all of that, ripping off Miemie's ability still lets it go a long way alongside a solid movepool.

:floatzel::zeraora: - This looks scary for offensive teams, and defensive teams can't just burn it or wall it with Iron Dirge, could be potent for a while.

:cryogonal::gengar: - Surprisingly probably the most unwallable mon on the meta right now, Freeze-Dry hits most of the meta and it has a decent speed tier, I could see NP and Specs sets going wild with some support.

:wo-chien::flapple: - Shitmon, no (semi-reliable) recovery for something that lacks the bulk and typing to compensate, and speaking of the typing, it's really bad, just use Drampiclus if you want a fat Dragon TBH, it's better than regular Flapple, but that isn't an high benchmark, it doesn't help that a niche as a Grass that beats Iron Dirge also got taken this very slate too by :starmie::tangrowth:.

:ampharos::salamence: - Disliking Knock Off hurts, but it's a decent mon that can annoy most physical attackers. Intimidate sounds strong on paper, but :Roaring Moon::Salazzle: and :Decidueye-Hisui::Rhyperior:don't care about Intimidate and easily wear it down, although Static comes in as a clutch option.
:ampharos::salamence-mega: - Quite strong, a lack of special walls easily turns this rather borderline
:ampharos-mega::salamence: - See the above

TBH I'm noticing that there's quite a lack of special walls in the meta, and the addition of nearly unwallable mons on that area does no favors, I'd suggest the council to consider doing yet another slate before PMPL as the meta may devolve into offense otherwise.

I don't like anything that won this slate for a variety of reasons, so I find everything disappointing from the jump. Disappointed I may be, I am not uninterested in what we got so I am gonna share my thoughts on them and the impact on the meta

:Iron-Hands::Tornadus-Therian: This thing is beefy as fuck. I can def see Scarf and AV being the chief sets that initially take off and hold a firm grasp on the meta, as it's respectful bulk and power and good speed after Scarf allows it to revenge kill most of any unboosted threat in our meta, while having a mean advantage versus boosted ones too with it's bulk. Outside of those two sets I think some niche strats like SD on Electric Terrain teams and some non AV defensive strats could be cool.

:Delibird::Miraidon: I think trying to pigeon hole mixed sets only hamper this things potential as an offensive mon. It's good ability is REALLY held back by it's dissuasion from running boosting items and no super Flying STAB, but I can still see this performing somewhat well here.

:Starmie::Tangrowth: It's fine. It's a Regen bot that probably pairs up nicely with Drampiclus, though it's stats being rather middling worries me somewhat. Will this be good inspite of it's lower than average statline? Checking alot of top threats certainly does it favours.

:Floatzel::Zeraora: Insane Pokémon. It technically has no counters on paper but it's alot harder to pull this off in practice. Even without that, it's dual STABs + Volt Switch alone serve it extremely well in our metagame, so I will certainly expect it to be a superb threat in our tier.

:Cryogonal::Gengar: People really let their irrational fear and hatred of Brambleswine of all Pokémon lead them to voting in this, genuinely insane thinking. Outside of how it breached the ranks, Crygargonal is a fine enough special attacker. I do not think Cryg can quite be the unwallable threat being described by Bob (NP Freeze Dry Focus Blast Sludge is checked by a miriad of defensive mons in the tier so far including SpD Dirge, Iron Meta and honestly that set in particular loses to some variants AV Dramps). That being said, for the time being I think it's an adequate threat in the metagame that can do its job decently enough.

:Wo-Chien::Flapple: Baffled that we decided to burn our Wo-Chien sub on....Wopple. Wopple is weird, I think it can be decent on paper, but in our specific metagame I can't see it doing much. Honestly though, outside of memes what really happened here? Mon is the definition of mid, rn I was coping hard but something serious gotta be done here to bump this thing up (higher Atk increase? Higher defense debuff?[probably broken])

:Ampharos::Salamence: This isn't a bad Pokémon by any stretch of the means, but I cannot cap when I say that Pawmiknight was the vastly superior Electric Flying type submission for our meta, and for that I can't ever forgive the masses for it. Base form is a fine defensive pivot, but it's lack of utility options makes it a bit harder to run as a defensive Pokémon compared to other options. Mega X has solid potential as an offensive and (imo the better alternative) defensive sweeper thanks to taking advantage of the metagame's lack of sturdy Flying checks, and I've seen chatter surrounding specially inclined variants, but imo if you do that better to either stick to base or run it's OTHER mega. Amp Mega Y is a devasting wallbreaker, and is another one on the list of "uncounterable on paper Electric types". It has potential as a defensive pivot as well due to the unique defensive profile of it's typing rn, but really you should run breaker sets since they lack any real switchins based on what move you click (predicting can be hard though). As cool as all of that is, I still maintain that Pawm would have been an overall healthier addition to our tier with it's strong damage output that isn't overbearing, it's Electric immunity and most importantly it's several utility options from both parents. It is what it is though.

This slate is def an example of "Council Wins" gone wrong. Like look at the caliber of Pokémon that won here that ain't subbed by a council member and what is (Crygar nonwithstanding, but that was led by a diff bias). Mons are operating in a different league on paper for sure.

Almost the whole slate ass, long live Floatzera, Star and the new Megas that check both. (I hate building for this meta)

PRE-PMPL2 BALANCE CHANGES
The first playtest tour is over, and there weren't really any major surprises. Usage stats are both skewed and weird due to forms, so don't put too much stock in them. The main takeaways is that Draco Meteor is the move of all time, regen cores are good, mega amphs were amazing, and Deliraidon wasn't quite as insane as we expected.
Pokemon Use Usage % Winrate %
Iron Tornado 13 54.17% 38.46%
Deliraidon 10 41.67% 50%
Meowscorio-Sensu 10 41.67% 60%
Stargrowth 9 37.5% 33.33%
Amphamence-Mega-X 8 33.33% 62.5%
Brambleswine 8 33.33% 50%
Whimsy Sands 8 33.33% 62.5%
Garpyuku 7 29.17% 42.86%
Roaring Sal 7 29.17% 14.29%
Arbolosion-Hisui 7 29.17% 57.14%
Drampiclus 5 20.83% 0%
Yveltox 5 20.83% 100%
Iron Mimic-Busted 5 20.83% 80%
Floatzera 5 20.83% 20%
Deciperior-Hisui 5 20.83% 60%
Toedieleki 5 20.83% 60%
Iron Meta 5 20.83% 20%
Iron Dirge 4 16.67% 0%
Lashiram 3 12.5% 100%
Wopple 2 8.33% 100%
Sol Valiant 2 8.33% 100%
Amphamence-Mega-Y 2 8.33% 50%
Amphamence 2 8.33% 300%
Muktaria-Alola-Mega 2 8.33% 50%
Garpyuku-Mega 1 4.17% 100%
Golisoros-Paldea-Blaze 1 4.17% 100%
Rotoghold 1 4.17% 0%
Iron Mimic 1 4.17% 400%
Crygargonal 1 4.17% 100%

NERFS:

New Stats: 72/85/72/100/80/106

Deliraidon wasn't quite as powerful as we expected coming into the tour, but if played correctly it was clearly too powerful for the tier. Instead of nerfing the power, we're opting to go with a mild speed nerf, allowing several more Pokemon to outspeed and revenge. Alongside the next balance changes, we believe this should bring down the power of special Dragons in the current metagame.

Both Mega X and Mega Y are banned.

Frankly speaking, both of Amphemence's mega forms are too strong. While part of that strength came from the fact that each form had entirely different answers, banning one over the other is hard to do when both are so strong in the first place. Banning each form should significantly ease the pressure on defensive cores, and retesting the megas later down the line is easy enough.

REWORKS:

New Ability: Opening Act - Effects of both Prankster and Protosynthesis

Slither King's current ability was a complete miss unfortunately, as the fusion's unfortunate movepool and defensively-inclined typing left it ill equipped to be the revenge killer it was envisioned as. Instead, the council decided to give it Prankster effects, which should hopefully enable Screens offense and keep the King relevant for the rest of the mod's lifespan.

New Stats: 80/97/90/95/97/75
Ability
: Grindset - While active, This Pokemon's Attack is 1.5x, while other Pokemon's Attack is 0.5.

Wopple. Wopple was very obviously a miss, but a Scarf set did manage to snag a kill in the tournament, albeit mostly off of surprise value. Given the absolutely dire movepool situation and generally mediocre stats, the council believes that an extreme ability buff, alongside a slight speed boost, could give Scarf and DD variants of Wopple a niche on offensive teams looking for a check to counter-offensive fusions like Floatzera and Toedieleki.

BUFFS:

New Stats: 79/125/125/45/85/70
Ability: Delayed Reaction - This Pokemon switches out at the end of the turn after being lowered to 50% of its max HP.

Golisoros just can't compete with Garpyuku in its current form, so the ability will now trigger at the end of the current turn to enable more consistent safe pivots from the isobull.

New Stats: 82/114/87/67/87/105
Ability
: Forest Fury - On switch-in, this Pokemon lowers the Attack of opponents by 1 stage. Prevents other Pokemon from lowering this Pokemon's Attack stat stage or inflicting this Pokemon with a status condition.

Zarubok was underpowered from day 1. More speed and a status immunity should boost it up a bit.

New Type: Ghost/Steel
New Stats: 70/55/87/115/85/93

Rotoghold, much like Zarubok, was also underpowered from day 1 (but more overhyped). Now that the meta is both more powerful and more Steel-starved, Council believes its reasonable to free the secondary Steel typing and boost up its Speed a bit to make Scarf variants more appealing.

Ability: Necromancer - This Pokemon's Ghost-type attacks have 1.5x power and this Pokemon takes 0.5x damage from Ghost- and Steel-type attacks; immunity to status.

Gargamise suffers hard from its awkward typing and inability to Tera. An additional resistance and 1 less weakness should hopefully make it a more consistent defensive option and wincon.

New Stats: 70/116/94/80/100/70

Iron Pins has always been a difficult and relatively unrewarding wallbreaker to pilot. 10 more speed allows it to always outspeed Arbolosion and more easily creep a host of faster defensive staples like Iron Dirge and Amphamence.

New Stats: 95/116/105/67/77/101

Relishadow suffers from a lot of issues, but for now we are just addressing its mediocre Speed. In the future, if Drizzle ever becomes a part of the meta, we may revisit Relishadow and give it Swift Swim effects.

neat, balance changes

  • Deliraidon not being an insane as expected is exactly what I thought, didn't buy into the hype. Regen cores being amazing is also as expected. I stay winning
  • On a more serious note, I'm very glad we didn't go ahead with removing the special attack boost from Deliraidon's ability (as was briefly discussed in the discord), that would've killed the mon. Speed nerf increases offensive counterplay a bunch so that's nice. Although it doesn't actually make the draco spam easier to stomach, hm...
  • I would've preferred banning just Amph-Mega-Y instead of both at once but don't feel too strongly about it either way.
  • Slither King rework is a huge departure from the original idea (always unfortunate) but I guess it'll increase it's viability. Now we've got screens offense! ...oh dear.
  • So here's a quick Wopple Calc:
    • Pre-Rework: 252+ Atk Arceus Extreme Speed vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tablets of Ruin Flapple: 73-87 (19.5 - 23.2%) -- possible 5HKO
    • Post-Rework: 252+ Atk Arceus Extreme Speed vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Flapple: 52-63 (14.2 - 17.3%) -- possible 6HKO.
    • Yeah this is a pretty massive buff (and there is no error in the calc above: you just play around with Arceus's attack stat until the total is halved). It also has an effective attack stat of 170 (higher/lower by some factor of 15 depending on evs, but 155 attack uninvested is still the biggest in the tier and the fact that you go beyond that with adamant is pretty frightening).
  • Zarubok was fine imo. Did it's job. Although if you wanted to buff it, a buff to speed seems odd...? Would've appreciated bumping up it's HP more, imo.
  • Rotoghold buff nice. Hopefully it sees more use
  • Massive buff to Necromancer, wow. I fear the day spamming salt cure becomes a viable strategy, it is an awful strategy to work against but it is an effective touch up nonetheless.
  • Iron Pins buff feels like an attempt to multiply zero instead of adding something
  • I addressed this in the discord but that Relishadow buff is nigh-useless:
    • 1683421362882.png
    • 1683421382960.png
    • It's actually worse though, because thanks to the Zarubok buff you would still lose to a hypothetical offensive Zarubok. That leaves you with Amphamence, which you were outspeeding anyways since it's a defensive mon, and Sol Valiant, a Booster Energy pokemon...with sucker punch. This is just cruel.

SLATE 5.5 - MICRO!

As some of you may know, the planned flow for the metagame was for there to be another tournament today, testing out the balance patch. However, Showdown's servers are down, so the tournament had to be canceled. We will now have a short special Submission Slate running until Wednesday! This is a new format we're trying out in light of the imminent PMPL; rather than trying to squeeze in a full slate, we decided on running a Clean Slate style mini slate to target a few specific issues in the metagame. Here are the two categories you will be submitting for, one submission per category:

Speed Control: The metagame has finally reached the point where there are faster offensive options and a real threat of setup from Pokemon like Iron Mimic. For that reason, council believes its worthwhile to introduce some more speed control to the metagame, preferably in the form of a Scarfer. Some notes for this category:

  • Pivoting is pretty much essential for a role like this, unless the speed control is achieved through priority.
  • Please don't go higher in raw speed than Floatzera! Not necessarily a rule but the general sentiment at the moment is that Modest Toedi should be the speed ceiling for the time being.
  • 91+ Speed is a good point for a scarfer, unless additional speed is achieved indirectly (like Landmaldo's Sink-or-Swim).
Special/Mixed Wall: While physical walls are easy enough to come by at the moment, the options for special walls are lacking. Back in the day an AV Drampiclus was enough, but now that we have real breakers like Deliraidon, another Special wall would be appreciated. Some notes:
  • Given the power of Dragons in the current metagame, types like Steel and Fairy are solid options to go with.
  • However, a Dragon resist is not necessary if you're fat enough; SpD Garpyuku is a solid example of that. Also Pincurchitar from last gen's UU.
  • Try not to outclass our existsing defensive options!
This slate will run until Wednesday, and voting will be done separately for each role (we will explain in more detail down the line). One winner per category. Good luck! Remember, one submission per category per user.

Base Stats: 93 / 64 / 79 / 107 / 118 / 60 [BST: 521] (+0 HP / +0 Atk / +0 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Electro Veil = (Flower Veil + Electromorphosis)
Ability Description: Electrosymbiosis effects + Heals status when hit
Notable Moves:

Discharge, Draining Kiss, Parabolic Charge, Moonblast, Thunderbolt
Recover
Intended Role: Sdef wall, Bulky attacker
Role Justification: Powerful sdef wall that can constantly heal its status as well as gain some power electric attacks when hit. Its defensive profile is great as it checks stuff like Iron Meta, Drampicus and Delriraidon while not getting heavily damaged by their coverage (in deliraidon's case it also doesn't get paralysed from thunder.). Also has both Parabolic charge and Draining kiss which is interesting to say the least.

New Ability: Holoptics = (Swarm + Tinted Lens)
Ability Description: Combined Effects of both abilities
Notable Moves:
Close Combat, First Impresion, Megahorn, Sucker Punch Throat Chop, U-turn

Intended Role: Scarfer, Band user
Role Justification: Trying something different from the failure of Loksir. This mon can fulfill the niche of a scarfer in a good enough manner while having a nuclear megahorn and first impression at low health.

New Ability: Strategist = (Technician + Steadfast)
Ability Description: Combined effects of both abilities.
Notable Moves:
Accelerock, Bulldoze, Bullet Punch, Close Combat, Rock Blast, Trailblaze

Defog(?), Swords Dance, Stealth Rock(?)
Intended Role: Speed Control (via priority/Scarf)
Role Justification: Solid STAB combo, the defensive typing is less of a problem for it due to having spammable priority which hopefully means it doesn't need to worry about taking as many hits. Speed stat is high enough to outspeed max Speed non-Scarf variants of Floatzera with Scarf sets, threatening a revenge kill with Bulldoze.

Role Justification: Hits harder than the base form, but loses out on the ability to revenge kill Floatzera using a scarf set. Still probably pretty solid if a team already has a Floatzera answer or doesn't care about running Scarf on this mon.

heres the nfe also lol

Defog
Intended Role: Special Wall, Misty Terrain Setter, Hazard Control
Role Justification: A special wall that provides a dragon resist and a status immunity for its team. It can remove hazards in 2 different ways. Misty Terrain also cancels out Arbolosion's Grassy Surge, so it can handle grass attacks from it. It lacks reliable recovery, but Misty Dish + Black Sludge is decent enough.
