I'm just sad that I never joined the fray earlier on. *insert crying emoji here*
What's an ability limit?
Pokemon's Name: Mega Slowbro X
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Slowbronite X
New Mega's Type: Water/Psychic (Yes, I decided to keep the typing)
New Mega's Ability: Technician
New Mega's Stats: 95 / 55 (-20) / 110 / 145 (+45) / 95 (+15) / 90 (+60) BST: 590
New Moves: Nothing!
Flavor: Mega Evolution stimulated its muscles, to no longer be slow, but to be fast. However, that shellder on its tail still lagged it down quite a bit, so it couldn't be as fast as a normal human. It's still happy it's no longer slow, though.
Competitive Role: Probably might not be strong enough for OU play, likely due to the awkward speed tier and passable-at-best bulk this mega form curses it with, but could find a home in UUBL or UU. It's a specially-based Technician abuser that takes advantage of its decent bulk to take hits and hit extremely hard (or set up with Calm Mind).
Sample Set:
Slowbro @ Slowbronite X
Ability: Regenerator >> Technician
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Surf
- Hidden Power Fire / Hidden Power Ground
Pokemon's Name: Mega Steelix Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Steelixite Y
New Mega's Type: Steel/Poison
New Mega's Ability: Adaptability (ba da bee!)
New Mega's Stats: 75 / 140 (+55) / 170 (-30) / 25 (-30) / 100 (+35) / 110 (+80)
New Moves: Poison Jab, Dragon Dance
Flavor: With the energy of mega evolution being so strong that its metal plating lightened, Steelix can now rejoice being fast once again! However, the power of mega evolution also changed it so much that it now no longer goes underground to hunt for food - but instead looks for prey on the surface to immobilize with its venom and gobble down in a vicious manner - bones and everything.
Competitive Role: Mega Steelix Y is a fast, bulky, and hard-hitting attacker best suited for Bulky Offense due to its good natural bulk and nice damage output.
Sample Set:
Steelix @ Steelixite Y
Ability: Sturdy >> Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 0 SpA
- Iron Head
- Poison Jab
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
Pokemon's Name: Mega Venusaur Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Venusaurite Y
New Mega's Type: Grass/Dragon
New Mega's Ability: Magic Guard
New Mega's Stats: 80 / 62 (-20) / 113 (+30) / 150 (+50) / 125 (+25) / 95 (+15)
New Moves: Draco Meteor, Recover
Flavor: Venusaur's took in far, far too much Chlorophyll, and as a result, this mutated its DNA. The flower on its back has pretty much died off, and in its place, rows of jagged leaves make up the rest of Mega Venusaur's back. The flowers on its head and its tail-spot have also died off as well; in the case of the latter, a short tail with jagged leaf blades at the end has grown where that flower once was.
Competitive Role: A specially-biased offensive tank that can also function on Bulky Offense builds thanks to solid natural bulk and access to Magic Guard taking off one of the biggest burdens of Mega Venusaur: vulnerability to residual damage.
Sample Set:
Venusaur @ Venusaurite Y
Ability: Chlorophyll >> Regenerator
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Giga Drain
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power Ice
- Recover
